Was looking for a box to get back on routine workout. Met Duke at this box who not only has a great passion for his community and professional training but also way more knowledge and experience than I expected. He was able to guide me to the fine line of challenging my capability without any injury for a month of my business trip. Following his passion and enjoying great community here for a month gave me 3.3lb more muscle and 5lb less fat. It is a great place to workout and reach to your fitness state beyond wellness.

Had the opportunity to drop in for a class while visiting from out of town. Duke was great at coaching and motivating as well as giving alot of pointers to help with the different lifts since i am a relative beginner. Environment and equipment were very well maintained.

I was always hesitant to try CrossFit, I thought it was going to be intimidating and overwhelming. Cervus, Duke and Melonie are amazing. They have created a welcoming supportive environment for you to challenge yourself no matter your physical fitness level.

I joined CrossFit Cervus in Fall 2023 and absolutely loved my time here! Duke is a fantastic coach and helped me go from my first CrossFit class to my first competition! I 100% recommend CrossFit Cervus. The energy in the classes is great & I looked forward to going to them in the mornings! I moved out of NJ about a month ago and following the workouts (even from over 13 hours away) really helps keep me on track! Can’t say enough good things about CrossFit Cervus & the people there :)

I came to this box in July 2015 with great apprehension. Could an unfit older female who hadn't done any exercise in 50 years, besides walking, fit in & be able to do the warm-up exercises let alone the WOD? My goals were simple: better balance & stability, better coordination & gain strength. The answer to that is a resounding "YES". Coach/trainer, Duke Perino, is the best! He helped me every step of the way and had me doing movements I never would have thought possible at my age. Coach told me I would be able to deadlift my own weight to which I replied "I better lose weight". Well in 2015, I was able to deadlift 145 pounds (less than what I weighed) but by August 2017 I deadlifted 245 (well above my weight)! I love this box and its members - everyone is so supportive and helpful. It doesn't matter if you 20 or 60 plus, you will find that this is the best place to be. Check it out. #cervusproud #cervusstrong #fitforlife
Here it is 9 years later, July 2024, and I’m still at CrossFit Cervus 4 days a week. My balance, stability, & coordination have all improved & I’m fitter than I’ve ever been. My health has improved, thanks to Melanie Perino, nutrition coach. I’m in the best shape of my life. Check this place out, the coaching, training, all the members make for a wonderful atmosphere..

CrossFit Cervus is great! I’ve been doing CrossFit for 13 years now. I’m in town on business. The staff got me signed up at a very reasonable drop in price. The gym is spotless and coaching staff goes above and beyond on coaching and explanations of daily work outs. 5 star def recommend!!

SIGN UP ASAP! I signed up for Crossfit Cervus during my 3 month stay down in South Jersey. Duke is a GREAT coach. I did have prior crossfit experience but Duke the time to help me out to improve some of my lifts and achieve other goals (more than 1 double under in a row!!). The community is great and everyone is very encouraging and motivating. Also crossfit is not as intense as it may seem. Duke does a great job to help you ease into all the lifts and movements. Cannot recommend this crossfit more, sign up and you won't be disappointed.

I didn't realize how wrong and far off I was on my nutrition until I started using the Cervus Strong Nutrition Program. Melonie is amazing and really made it easy for me to see where I was wrong/misguided and could improve. I saw results very quickly and kept at it for around 8 months.... And as of this review I'm down 30lbs and 4-5 inches on my waist. My strength and stamina have improved as a result plus it's easier to move when you're moving less weight. Don't wait, I wish I had started sooner!!!!

Life long athlete here, best CrossFit experience and workout I’ve come across. While things in my personal life didn’t allow me to continue on at this gym I will say this… from day 1 meeting duke and learning about his coaching style and knowledge of the fundamentals and science behind the movements I knew this would be a great gym and well worth every dollar. I played college football and have been in sports my entire life and have never had anyone break down my form and explain things the way that duke was able to. I immediately began to feel more confident with my cleans and especially snatch which I’ve always struggled with. The facility is very clean and well kept. The members that attend the class bring great energy are competitive yet supportive and there is a sense of community. The workouts are well thought out and everything from scheduling classes to tracking progress is easy through the app. Also, they have social gatherings outside of the gym to get to know one another. Whether you’re a newbie to working out or a seasoned athlete you’re going to get more than your moneys worth at this gym.

Recently , I’ve started my journey working out at CrossFit and very happy with the training and my coach. I chose CrossFit because you are not only shown how to do each workout but videos are provided and the instructors are right there to help and guide you. Most importantly they encourage you. I meet 3 days p/week for 1 hr with a small group and we all work together at our own pace, yet cheering and encouraging one another. I have a goal to reach in developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle and to be physically fit.( mentally and physically). I want to remain active and enjoy the quality of life as long as I’m able. CrossFit is challenging but if you’re serious about maintaining your health or at least start somewhere then I recommend Crossfit . It’s working for me and I enjoy it and look forward to my workouts. When not on site I continue my stretches and applying what I’ve learned. In a few weeks and months I will start seeing the transformation take place. Duke is an excellent coach. Check it out and see for yourself. You’ll sweat and you won’t regret it!

I was in the area for work and did a 2 week drop in at CF Cervus. I was fortunate to find a gym that not only offers early morning classes, but also provides quality coaching, smart programming, and a welcoming atmosphere. I have been doing crossfit for 2 years and have dropped into many gyms around the country. This facility is clean, well kept and well equipped. The programming follows a nicely balanced pattern throughout the week with strategic implementation of technique work, strength, and cardiovascular endurance. I very much appreciate the dedicated time to mobility and injury prevention - aspects that are often overlooked at other gyms. Beginners are eased in gradually in a strategic manner that minimizes any room for discouragement. Duke is a very attentive coach who is clearly passionate about the sport and his gym. I received some helpful pointers that I will continue to incorporate into my training. I really felt some improvements in my technique, even in 2 short weeks! The community was friendly and welcoming without the clicky toxic vibes I sometimes felt at other gyms. Overall, great experience!

Part of what makes Crossfit different than a gym membership is the community. Positive communities begin with knowledgeable and positive leadership.
Cervus Crossfit has this in spades!!
Duke, Jordan and Melonie are kind and very down to earth. On top of this they are constantly striving to improve the workouts and help members consistently improve.
If you are thinking about changing your current patterns and getting in shape just do it. Make the appointment.
10 minutes in this place and your going to feel welcome and any lingering doubts will start to fade.
The leadership is only the beginning. The members are amazing as well. It’s truly a pleasure to go to class and see these people. I learn something about fitness, fellow members lives, their goals or professions… every day. I look forward to spending time with the entire crew!

I joined CrossFit Cervus after coming home from college for the summer and wanting to continue CrossFit workouts. I find that as a collegiate athlete, I feel considerably stronger and am able to get through my normal training schedule much easier after a few weeks of working out here. I also love the community I found here, which is so supportive and makes every workout a lot more fun.

After having two babies I decided to join a “gym”. Being in CrossFit had never crossed my mind as I guess I just assumed it was for people that already had experience working out (and I had very little… like almost none… I had never being a member of a gym). Somehow I stumble across CrossFit Cervus online and called just to “call”. This was my 6th place to schedule a visit to and i immediately fell in love. I came in for a visit and 30 minutes later I was a member. Duke is extremely professional and has a genuine interest in all of his members. He made me feel so comfortable and truly listened to what my needs were.
I was given the option to get 3 personal classes on what to expect, proper technique and form, etc and these only strengthen my excitement to join CrossFit Cervus.
It’s been 2 months since I joined and I honestly can say that I look forward to Mondays so I can go work out .I am impressed with the noticeable changes in my body in just 2 months and with the boost of confidence I have gained.
Now that I am a “crossfiter” I don’t think I would consider a regular gym instead of a CrossFit gym. Working out with a “team” is really neat and having that accountability of showing up is so important to me.
I’m currently going 3 times a week but I will be switching to 5 days a week in few months.

Joining Cervus was joining a family. There are so many things to list as to why I recommend joining this community but Ill give you my top 3.
1) On-ramp program- This is a one on one program that allows you to learn the movement with the barbells over a three day timeframe. Duke is Knowledgeable and patient allowing you to build confidence and have better understanding in how to do things correctly and safely prior to joining the group sessions
2) They also offer Nutrition. Not much more to say to that- Its just awesome -on site nutritionist who can help with the why am I not losing fat, building muscle, what food should I be eating part that a-lot of us struggle with.
3) Lastly, the support- Everyone around you wants to see you succeed. Its an inviting community for all levels, ages, genders. Be ready to work hard, be ready to cheer on, be ready to be challenged but also be ready to laugh. Be ready for check in texts and emails which always seem to be right on time when you need a lil extra push.

Being in the military I knew I needed something more than just the traditional lifting. I’ve heard so many bad stories on doing CrossFit from injuries to “slinging weight around”. For those months that I was a member at CrossFit Cervus not once did I hurt myself or sling weight around. What I did learn was how to properly stretch, lift, and above all else have STRONG SHOULDERS! Coaches and members, I will miss you dearly. CrossFit Cervus has set the bar high for the next gym I join. - Rose

CrossFit Cervus has been my gym for 13 months now but it’s been my second home for almost as long. The community is incredible and I truly have gained multiple new very good friends from this “family”. It doesn’t matter your fitness level- we work together, root each other on (while having healthy competition) and continue to get better each week. The coaching is safe and pushes you without risking injury.
Special shout outs to Jordan and Mel for keeping my workouts tough and my nutrition on point 💪🏼
Jordan tells me when I need to scale and when I need to push and she has 100% success rate at being right. Couple stellar workouts with Melonie’s ability to tune in your nutrition for performance/gains or cuts and you have an awesome recipe for success.
So glad that Jane I showed up day 1 and was terrified I wasn’t “capable enough” to be here I stuck it out, because the changes in a year have been so exciting to experience.

I had been wanting to do CrossFit for years but was always too nervous to sign up for a gym. Through some trickery my wife scheduled me an appointment to meet the guys at Cervus, and I haven’t looked back since. This gym is basically my second home now, and the community feels like family. The coaching and programming has pushed me far past what I ever thought I was capable of, and I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. On top of the workouts the nutrition classes have taught me a ton, and I’m super excited with my progress.

I started at Cervus almost 1 1/2 years ago. I knew nothing about the gym, or the commitment I would be making and weather or not I could even do it. From the first time I walked through those doors I was greeted by the owner/coach Duke. I felt a little intimidated but empowered at the same time. I chose to take the leap to better myself physically and mentally and signed up. A year and a half later at the ripe old age of 45 I'm down 40 pounds 4 inches off my waist and I'm probably in the best physical shape of my life.
Walking into this gym unknowing what to expect, the on ramp program really set me up for success. Helping me understand the fundamentals and movements really helped me ease into the open gym setting. If your new to crossfit the on ramp program is definitely the way to go.
From the coaches to the members this place is like no other. The support system here is all encouraging. " We start together we finish together." The positive atmosphere is intoxicating to say the least. Met some great people here, proud to work out with them day after day. I'm hooked!!
A special thanks to the coaches Duke, Mel, and Jorden

I joined CrossFit to challenge myself. I won’t lie I was pretty intimidated about signing up. I don’t have the most fit body and would consider myself pretty out of shape. From my first meeting with Duke I realized that the culture there was nothing to do with my image but everything to do with bettering myself. The team like atmosphere is my favorite part. Everyone in there is there for the same reason to better themselves but when you are tired and don’t have it in yourself to push yourself your team steps up and pushes you in the best way. If it’s not just growth in fitness you are looking for, I highly suggest the nutrition program offered. Not only does Melonie know a lot about nutrition, but she tailors the program to fit YOUR lifestyle. I learned so much about food and how to work nutrition into my lifestyle without sacrificing the things I love. I cannot say enough about CrossFit Cervus. They have become a home to me.

It took me nearly 2 years to collect the courage to walk through the doors at CrossFit Cervus. That "CrossFit" moniker on the flag waving outside was very intimidating to a guy like me. I kept telling myself, "you can't do CrossFit, you can't even do a pull up!" I had countless false starts at just about all the $10/month sweat shops. They all lacked the motivation and sense of community that CrossFit Cervus offers. During the fundamentals classes you and the coaches learn your strengths and weaknesses. Every workout from then on can be tailored to exploit your strengths, get you stronger, and chip away at those weaknesses. Through the CrossFit programming, yoga, nutrition counseling, they have you covered mind, body, and spirit. The other members welcome you with open arms, encourage you, and hold you accountable in and out of the box. This place will change your life. This place makes me a better person.

Amazing! Let me give you a little bit of background, I am a former athlete who since leaving my college days has struggled with my eating habits and work life balance. I gained about 80 pounds in the last three years. Duke and Melonie (owners of Crossfit Cervus) are two of the most supportive, caring, genuine people you will ever meet. They love what they do, they love helping people, they love being part of the solution. I learned all about my body and my mind while doing a six week challenge with them. They taught me how to take care of myself, including both dietary education and physical fitness. It’s really easy to beat yourself up when you gain weight and from the very first session I felt so comfortable in my own body working out with them and speaking with them, that might’ve been one of the most valuable part of this whole process. In six weeks I lost 25 pounds, feel confident about myself and continue to utilize everything they taught me to live a much happier life!

I just completed the Torch and Tone Bootcamp with CrossFit Cervus. The 6 week transformation challenge was one of the best choices that I have made in a long time. I met a good group of people that became my gym family. Everyone encouraged each other, through compliments, tears, and small victories. We have shed way much more than pounds at this gym; we’ve gained confidence, new friends, and better habits that will promote a healthier lifestyle. Duke and Melonie were extremely helpful during the process; they answered all of our questions at pretty much anytime of the day, they were extremely responsive. We also had a Facebook support group where we were able to keep each other accountable. Overall, I learned a lot about myself on this weight loss journey and I thank Duke and Mel for the encouragement and tough love!

I recently found myself in Burlington County, NJ, and had seen CrossFit Cervus was close by. I went through the Fundamentals training for a week (one on one classes that go through many of the movements found in CrossFit), which was super informative and helped me understand and plan through my mobility shortfalls. Then, I was in regular classes for the following 4 weeks. Duke is adamant about proper form and lifting techniques, and always takes the time to either praise or help you to do the movement correctly- even spending classes on specitic movements. (I can now do a power snatch- squat snatch is next!) All of this, right into 18.4! Duke's wife, Melonie, is also awesome and coaches yoga at the box! I loved the atmosphere and energy, and especially the fact they let me into their close CrossFit family! I plan to come back when in the area in the future!

**Coming from someone who had zero knowledge of ever lifting any weights before joining, besides kettle-bells and body weight movements **
Crossfit tends to have a few bad stereotypes, mainly that its a chiropractors dream due to everyone using terrible lifting techniques.
That does not happen at this box. You will learn techniques repeatedly before you will even graduate to heavier weights, because practice makes perfect.
I was surprised on how in-depth the fundamentals course went with each of the lifts, and teaches you how the workouts are typically programmed.
I was even more surprised that after I graduated to the regular classes, I was still getting the same amount of coaching. Even the veterans of the classes being called out whenever their form gets sloppy.
On top of that, members of the classes are very friendly. Always looking to greet you and give you that extra push you need to make it thru the workout.
Lastly, they have quite a bit of time slots to get your workout in (starting at 5am), which is great due to my ever-changing work schedule.

This is not crossfit. I have been to hundreds of gyms across the United States and multiple continents. Most of the members here have only been to this gym, so they are content with the lackluster training. I attended classes for a week and refused to pay for less than 10 minutes of training. There was no WOD, no weight lifting, only technique practice... for the entire hour. The coaching was mediocre and the lack of workouts made it difficult to remain engaged. I started going to Crossfit Hygge and absolutely love it. Great coaching, hard workouts. I do not recommend attending this gym if you are an experienced crossfitter looking to push yourself.

If you're considering a life change, this is definitely where your journey should begin. You can tell, as soon as you walk in the door, this is somewhere you want to be! Duke is an amazing coach, he literally has more patience then I could ever have. He walks you through every phase of every movement, to make sure you're doing it correctly and of course, safely. Our coaches Duke, Mel, and Cam are constantly gaining more knowledge and bringing it back to the box to share with all of the members. They take the time to know their members, learn their capabilities and make sure they get the most out of every second they're in the building! One of my very good friends said she couldn't come to Crossfit because she couldn't afford it. But she could afford Planet Fitness. I asked her when the last time she went and she couldn't remember. Because if you're not worried about that small $20 going to waste, you won't worry about getting to the gym! Crossfit Cervus is my home away from home. Friends have become like family, and we have a huge supportive Crossfit Community behind us!

I had over a year of Crossfit experience under my belt before starting at Cervus, yet Duke managed to explain concepts and movements in a way that not only helped them make more sense to me, but helped me to see connections and how something as simple as breathing technique during a kettlebell swing can improve efficiency. Lots of boxes claim they are a family, but it's not just talk at Cervus; these people become a part of you and do all the things you'd expect of family: they celebrate your successes, encourage you to try something new/challenging/intimidating, they give you the kick in the pants you need when you aren't giving it your all, and they call you out when you haven't shown up in a few days. In a year at Cervus, I've gained more self-confidence and overcome some great milestones. I couldn't be happier. Motivating, inspiring, transformative - that's Cervus. ❤️ #CervusProud #CervusStrong

BEST thing I ever did for myself. I struggled going to a regular gym (PF) and basically "winging" my work outs. I hit a wall and really couldn't push passed my everyday workouts.
I decided it was time to do something different so I looked into CrossFit Cervus through the recommendation of a friend. The day I walked in I was extremely nervous. My stomach was in knots because I really thought CrossFit was for the "elite" athletes. Well anyone that thinks this you're wrong. It's for everyone.
When I walked through that door Duke greeted me with open arms. I never expected what happened. EVERYONE was extremely friendly and immediately welcomed me into the "family". I wished I did this sooner.
At this point I feel great. Duke is an awesome Coach and knows how to push you to your max and then some. He is a great motivator as well as the rest of the Cervus family.

Almost exactly a year ago, I decided enough was enough with my unhealthy lifestyle. I had tried numerous "big box" gyms and "at home" fitness programs and realized that I needed something different, something that would get me motivated and, most importantly, keep me motivated. I was skeptical at first about the whole "crossfit" idea, but I decided I needed to find out for myself. And boy am I happy I did. First and foremost, Duke and Melonie Perino have created the perfect atmosphere at CERVUS. They attract people from all walks of life and make it a top priority to keep everyone engaged. As for the results, I'm doing things I never thought I could possibly do. I'm wearing clothes I never thought I could possibly wear!
As for the classes themselves, I am extremely happy with the level of detail for safety and the constant open communication we all get from coach Duke. But the best part is, it's so much fun! The community has a family feel to it and I am always leaving each class laughing or smiling about something. That's why I have gone from doing nothing to coming at 5 a.m. , everyday there is class.... for an entire year!!!
I simply cannot recommend this place more. If you are looking to make your life healthier, there is no better place to start that journey than at Crossfit CERVUS.

I love going to Crossfit Cervus. All of my life, I have been hesitant about lifting any weights or going to mixed gender gyms. These things have always made me uncomfortable. Knowing how good weightlifing can be for aging bones and overall health, I started thinking this is something that I might want to start doing. I have always worked out on my own at home, occasionally going to a class here and there, but did not want to embark upon something that could potentially be dangerous if done incorrectly on my own. Some friends I know were going to Crossfit Cervus and told me they thought the people there were so friendly that I would not mind going there.
They were so right! I now look forward to going nearly every night. When I can't get down there, I am disappointed. Even though I am not trying to become a world class athlete, I am greeted, trained and treated the same as everyone else. Everyone is supportive and helpful.
Duke and Melonie are so supportive in my individual goals and do everything they can to help me achieve them. I have grown so much since working with them. I have achieved things that I never thought possible.
I would not trade my experience or my box (yes, I said my) for the world. i absolutely love it.

The gym is very small. I went by to get signed up. If you are from another Crossfit gym, he doesn't honor it, like other gyms would. You still have to do elements which is only offered at specific times. His times didn't work for me, but he told me to come saturday. By the way, I keep saying HE because there is only one coach for every class. On Saturday I waited outside the gym. They never opened and when I called, I got the owner's personal cell phone. Pissed , because I rearranged my whole day to do this elements class, he tells me he is on a special schedule and despite the websites hours, he wont be opening until two hours later. This wasnt posted anywhere. I'm through with this bogus CF gym. Two strikes and you're out. I could only imagine getting there at 5am only to find I have wasted my time. And to think I told 2 coworkers to join with me!! My advice is find a gym that opens when they say they will. Hes a new crossfut coach, clearly, but I've been to two other gyms that were great- so this is what I expect for the cost of a crossfit membership... CF. Mt Laurel, and CF Riverfront in Wilmington are awesome gyms. Save yourself the frustration from a subpar gym You get what you pay for.
