I do not hate the gym itself, however, I am frustrated with a situation that has occurred. One day, I noticed that I had an additional charge on my credit card, so I called them to try and figure it out. Come to find out that I had been followed into the gym by a random stranger, and got hit with a fee because of it. I am pissed about the charge, however, I am more disappointed that I cannot get anyone on the phone that is willing to discuss it with me. Even when speaking to a manager I am told, “I will look into it and get back to you.” Despite telling me my name and number, it has been over a month and I continue to not get a call back to discuss the matter, even after multiple attempts on my end. I feel like they are trying to take my money and hope I just go away. In my opinion they should do better.

I’m a newer member but I’ve had a great experience so far. I love that there are classes at different times and different durations. I had so much fun taking Livias class- she has a great way of making the workout enjoyable instead of the same old same. She really tells you the safe way to workout and why.

I’m not a fan of the super bright lights. And the floor upstairs needs to be vacuumed more. It’s usually dirty.

Also got a text about hydro massage so I’m curious where that is going to be set up. Hopefully it comes soon

Blatant scamming and simply don't care.

I did a week trial for the gym because the location was ideal, but its simply not that nice of a gym, sorry. I didn't intend to sign up, but the guy who assisted me, name on the agreement is William C Serad, said I could sign up for the "single gym usage for an annual fee of $60, so as cheap as $5.00/month with a one time enrollment fee." I asked for clarification multiple times that I was only paying $60 annually for access to just this gym, along with the enrollment fee, and he assured me every time. The way I asked for clarification left no room for miscommunication that there would be a monthly charge on top of that. I wish I had paid more attention to the agreement they sent me and the membership charges thereafter, but I didn't. Thats on me. Regardless, they take your number at the front desk because there is no manager on site and they don't call you back and their support number for billing couldn't be less helpful. $21.00 membership cancelation fee on top of it all. Paid over $200 to be a member for 8 months at what was already a sub par gym. Lesson learned I suppose.

The AC has been broken in the ladies locker room and half of the gym for the past 6 weeks. When I complained to the front desk, he said that they know, but no one has done anything. I took a picture of thermostat in the locker room. It was 81degrees this morning! I know you are in the process of renovating, but could you make some easy updates? The dumbbells are in terrible condition with the rubber falling off of them and the white rope pulleys are disgustingly dirty.

Crunch is hands down the worst gym membership you could get.
The hours of operation are absolutely terrible. Closes at 8pm on most weekdays?!
This particular location is also very poorly maintained. A bunch of machines are down and nobody does anything about it. I don’t even think there’s AC at this gym based on the thermostat showing 82 degrees on a summer day…

If you pay for a membership here, you’re getting robbed.

The fact that crunch has taken over since January and the only thing that has been done is the sign outside is ridiculous. The gym is falling apart. Machines are breaking on a daily basis or have been broken for months (stair masters) it’s extremely hot in the gym to an almost dangerous level. When asking to turn the AC up we are told it is controlled off site and that they have contacted the correct person. I appreciate the hard work the in club staff is doing but it seems like they can only do so much. Erik the GM has been very helpful but something needs to be done ASAP or some sort of update and timetable. I’ve been a member for a long time and I’m considering leaving. I am paying for the top membership but this location doesn’t have half the amenities I am paying for. Let’s get the act together.

No tanning:( I was excited that crunch was 24/7. I was looking for a gym and read crunch was taking over some Jersey strong locations so I wasn't expecting a full crunch location but I specifically joined this location for 24/7 access and "tanning". I went my first day during staffed hours hoping to tan and was told there was no tanning yet. I get it, you haven't remodeled yet but don't say you have tanning or make a note on your website that says tanning coming soon to this location. I probably would have not joined if I had known this. I'm just sharing this in case other members join for tanning also. Otherwise I have no issues. I just hope it stays 24/7 after the crunch rebrand. I was originally going to join Jersey strong but I figured I would try crunch freehold since they have "tanning", 24/7 access and you could access any crunch location.

Not sure what’s going on with Crunch. I was a member of Jersey Strong in Tinton Falls for 14 years without incident accept it was my understanding owners had the blond manager not interact with me. If you read other reviews- her customer service are horrendous.
I reported that male workmen were in the ladies room while women were changing. I the was constantly harassed by that manager and I believe someone baldish man I believe from Crunch.
My friends also went to so I started going there . I got a corp membership. I was Jersey Strong before.
Now I am getting what appear threatening calls from Freehold Crunch? I hung up after a person said they were from Freehold Crunch and screaming? IBut what is going on? I never set foot in Freehold.
I shouldn’t be harassed. I have an active membership that I should be able to go to 498 Crunch gyms. Crunch corporate needs to handle this.

Majority of the machines are ancient and half of them don’t work. Place is in a dire need of updating. Free weights are ok and platform weight lifting is good though. I’d say that about 50% of the treadmills simply don’t work or are broken down in some capacity.

This gym is horrible. The manager Angel is sketchy and the girl that works front desk MARTA was beyond incompetent and couldn’t answer ANY basic questions about the gyms policies. I was promised by the MANAGER himself allowance of any guest and when I decided to bring my sister in one day, Marta was incredibly rude and enforced policies that were never mentioned by the manager himself. When I asked to speak to Angel, when I literally SAW him in the building, Marta laughed at my face and shut down my request saying “he doesn’t want to speak to anyone right now”. WHAT SENSE DOES THAT MAKE? Marta was extremely ignorant, LACKED BASIC TRAINING and enforced regulations that were NOT within her position to make. Best believe I’ll be escalating this to higher management. 1 star is being generous, I would rate in the negatives if I could. I have never experienced such an UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF with a gym until I signed up for this particular location.

I would NEVER join this gym if it were the last gym around. They jerk you around with false advertising practices to get you in there. Then surprise you with, you would have to put out more $$$ for some things that should be included in the membership. You talk to someone on the phone about an e mail that you received, who is rude and tells you that you need an appointment to discuss the email. You get to the place and no one knows anything and the person you spoke to 1 1/2 hours before is no longer working there🤨
What I have found in my search for a gym is. You get what you pay for😐. Paying a little more for quality will be worth it.

I can’t tell you how much I look forward to my Zumba classes led by Donna Van Wageninge! She is just a bubble of energy and always has a huge smile to brighten your day while she is helping you stay healthy with cardio. Her routines are original and always changing and she uses the best music to get you pumped up. Her classes are more like a dance party with friends, then torturous exercise.

In general, the Freehold location of Jersey Strong, that is closest to my home is not the nicest of the Jersey Strong gyms, but I will continue to go as long as Donna as teaching as well as travel to Manalapan, Old Bridge and Marlboro for her classes!

Love the gym. Staff is phenomenal as well the atmosphere. Met so many great people and even signed up for personalized training and classes which have been a huge help. James has so much info to share and I finally have been able to pursue boxing. Came to nj to celebrate the holidays with family but my regular gym I go to isn’t close. Bill hooked me up with a week pass at no charge. Staff is super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend
