I am extremely pleased with this facility. The 24-hour access allows me to visit at my convenience, and I can use any machine I need without issue. All equipment is well-maintained and functional. Additionally, the locker room and workout floor are clean and well-organized, making for a pleasant overall experience.

Had to leave mid workout 3/30/25. Hotest day of year its an oven in there. I'm requested multiple times to have the air conditioner turned down or at least open the side doors to have fresh air and I was informed that employees know it is an issue and the owner said if anybody lowers the thermostat they will get fired. Owner needs to stop running good gym like second rate shop.

I gave this one star because of their cancellation policy and friendliness toward the LGBT community. Just cancelled last night and was told they would still bill me for 2 cycles. That is a messed up and sketchy, shyster policy no matter what way you look at it.

There is no reason to bill me 2 more times after I cancel. I understand once because of timing, but twice? Don't care about a measly $20 per cycle, but the principle of it is that it makes me feel that after years of being a paying member, the owner is trying to RIP ME OFF and squeeze another nickel and dime out of me.

Also not very LGBT friendly. I wear nail polish, pink, rainbow earrings, etc...regardless, clearly gay. Leave my earbuds on all the time but still hear comments sometimes, both from staff and members.

I'd give it negative stars if I could.

No one wipes after they use machines no one puts anything back and when you tell the front desk their like “ well there’s only one female and she works during the day” no signs saying wipe down or put things back just … common courtesy but people don’t have that these days SMH

4 out of the 5 gyms are great.
The one that Woodbury Heights low rating. It has a very strong mold and mildew smell in the air.. For at least 2 months,.all of August, most of July and it still stinks in September of 2024.Most cell phones do not work inside this building.

Great selection of equipment on the main floor and in the women's gym. True, there are no mats in it or treadmills, but that's not the point. The machines in the women's gym are actually more tailored to women. Good for working out without a spotter. Also has the standards: power racks with platforms, smith machine, leg press, bench, free weights.

The Jersey Girl at Woodbury Heights is a cheap version of the Westville gym. I am not sure how it even qualifies as a women's only gym...restrooms are in the main area, cardio is in the main area, and you walk through a restaurant to enter a small room, no door, no staff, with minimal equipment. The only perk is the hours are more flexible at the Woodbury Heights location than Westville.

Love the New Jersey girls side of the gym. Beautiful new equipment and is women only. Cellphone service isn’t great and you do have to use the cardio equipment in the main gym but the private section is well worth it.

Me and my friend visit Jersey Girls side and the only good thing about this place is that equipment is always available. There is no one checking on that side of the gym, and it stays pretty clean because not a lot of people use this side. Treadmills missing, no mats for stretching, limited attachments to machines, and VERY HOT. Not a single fan. They should really improve the girls side, and make it like the main gym in Westville.
DO NOT USE THEIR VENDING MACHINE! Stuff will get stuck and u won’t get your money back

Giant Fitness is an overall good / very good gym. See below for details.

Equipment variety: Excellent 9/10. Whether you are a body builder, a casual gym goer, or a marathon runner, this gym will have whatever you need to get a great workout. The mirrors are great and the lighting is excellent, which is more important than you realize!

Price and Hours: Excellent 9/10. Great price for what you get! Especially with platinum membership you get unlimited guests for ~$40 per month. It is open 24/7 which is GREAT!!!! I love not having to check the hours before going to this gym because it's pretty much always open.

Crowds: Average 6/10. Sometimes gets busy around 5-6 pm on weekdays. Pretty common for equipment you want to be taken, but with the great variety it's pretty easy to find a substitute.

Wifi: Unsatisfactory 1/10. I had to make a special category for this gym. The wifi is horrible. It's very slow when it works, and many times it stops working completely. This is made worse by the fact that the gym is in a zone with NO reception for both Verizon and AT&T. Nowadays when we rely on YouTube and apple music / spotify for music, wifi is a necessity.

Temperature: Overall good, but it can get unbearably hot in the summer if they don't turn on the AC, which has happened to me several times and is not fun.

I have been a member here for over 10 years. I am writing this review because someone I know joined another company's gym (the name starts with a U, ends with a E and has 4 letters) and has had nothing but headaches with a ton of extra, nonsense fees...including late fees WHEN HE HAS AUTO BILL ON A CREDIT CARD WITH A HUGE LIMIT AND BARELY ANY BALANCE!). Giant is Fantastic. It is clean, friendly, and has tons of available equipment with regular upgrades. The price cannot be beat either. And their contract is clear and they never play financial games.....I even had to cancel a few years back due to medical issues. Gave 60 day notice and all was fine. I rejoined about a year later with no problem. Giant in Woodbury Heights is highly recommended.

Buyer Beware. Manager/reps will straight up lie/deceit you about the terms of your membership. When I disputed charges from Giant with my bank, I was shocked at how quickly my money was returned to me. This establishment must have a reputation for unscrupulous activity.

I was a active member for multiple years, and when I moved out of the area I decided to cancel my membership. I knew that I would have to drive there and cancel in person, fine. When I speak to the rep at the counter, I am told that I need to give a 60 day notice before the actual membership stops billing me, fine whatever. I asked the rep if I need to sign anything or get a copy of the cancellation and I am assured that I do not.
This cancellation notice was done in August, and I was told October would be the last bill. November comes around and I am billed, I think to myself maybe I made a mistake on the last bill date and assume that will be the last bill. December comes around and I am billed again but this time the quarterly or annual fee is added in there as well. I call to see what's going on, and apparently my membership was never even cancelled, and apparently same thing just happened to another member. I ask to speak to the manager, whose name is Dan and he is unavailable I am told. Turns out he was just refusing to speak to me on the phone. Decide to drive there because I was so angry/frustrated. When I get there Dan says that I should have got a print out of the cancellation and there is nothing he can do. He then asks me to justify why I want to cancel my membership. And the only way I can cancel my membership is if I agree to pay for another 2 months. Dan kept talking in circles and wouldn't get me a print out of my cancellation until I started yelling in the lobby.

The gym is fine, everything you would expect from a $20/month fitness center. I actually used to really like this gym when I was a member there and would recommend to friends/family. But after what I experienced I would never recommend to anyone ever again.

Shame on the owner of this gym. When I went through the reviews, it looks like the managers and reps are trained to conduct business in this fashion, and the same story seems to pan out over the years.

There’s a planet fitness a quarter mile from my house, I went there for years but after the restrictions were loosened and the lockdown ended, they closed at 9 pm, which doesn’t help me, who works until 8.

I started my membership at giant and I’m so happy I did. There are more and better machines, more free weights, I never have to wait for any machine at all and I think the attitude in there is better. In the few months I’ve had a membership, I’ve progressed so much.

The staff is SO friendly and I feel very comfortable at this gym. I won’t be going back to planet fitness even if they do extend their hours, regardless of how close to my house they are. Giant fitness is rad.

Bare bones, clean gym with all the equipment you need for a full workout at a very affordable cost. The only downside is the staff. In the past we found the staff to be quite rude at the front desk and the manager/owner was also impossible to reach.

Best gym in the area. They have plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, stair masters, bicycles, etc. Along with plenty of variety in machine weights and free weights.

No one judges you here. Everyone is here for relatively the same reason, to get in shape or maintain it. No one overly slams their weights or screams loudly.

The staff is always friendly and will greet you when you come in and leave.

There are plenty of lockers and bathrooms with showers.

There are also tanning beds and a very nice meal prep resturant where you can get healthy and delicious food.

I was visiting friends in the area and visited the gym twice. $10 for a guest pass. My understanding is that the monthly membership is also only $10. Huge place with tons of equipment. Everything was in good condition and it wasn't too crowded. I didn't notice an area for classes. The people who were working there were nice and helpful.

I began working out at Giant Fitness in September 2017 after leaving my CrossFit Gym. I liked that they had free weights and I was able to do different cycles, I enjoyed the atmosphere for the most part, the nice staff, and the hours were pretty decent. I was a 5 am gym go-er until recently. My husbands job changed and now he has to be out of the house by 5. I am no longer able to go at the same time (Drawing the line at waking up at 3 am to work out) and I don't have the opportunity until late at night again. It was no longer conducive since child care isn't an option here (available at other Giant Fitnesses with a payment but they are about a 45 minute drive from my house...not worth it)

I have paid 12 months for my membership, and my quarterly maintenance fee. I went into the gym Aug 1st so inform them with letter in hand (as required by contract) that I would not be continuing my membership since I would be billed again Sept 1st (making 13 payments). I was told since it was within the year, I would owe a cancellation fee to end my membership of $60. Not wanting to do that, they said I should wait until my year was finished and then cancel the membership, BUT HERE'S THE TRICK. Once you've finished your year, you have to give them 60 days notice that you're cancelling. So I am required to pay for another 2 months of membership for $40.

There is literally no such thing as a one year membership. If you show up the appropriate time early to end your membership, you're too early and get hit with a fee. If you wait til your year is up, you have to give 60 days notice. THERE IS NO APPROPRIATE TIME TO CANCEL. THEY WILL CHARGE YOU FOR 14 MONTHS REGARDLESS. I signed the cancellation for 60 days prior to the end of my membership thinking this was my only option, only to be reminded by the manager (who was nice and patient but like I said, super crappy business model) that my quarterly maintenance fee would also come out in October. So I went from either a) cancel "early" even though I paid for 12 months already for $60. Or b) keep my membership til the end of October for now $75 ($40 for two months plus the upkeep fee).

You know what this is called? Theft by deception. There is no year contract. They will force you into paying another 2 months regardless if you do the appropriate thing and show up a month before the end of your contract to cancel. The sad thing is the employees are nice, the price isn't horrific, and while the equipment could use some updating, it's fair. But because the business practice is so crappy, I will never ever return and I will let anyone know that wants to join that they will take advantage and charge you for longer than needed. There is no ideal time to cancel without paying extra, EVER.

Years ago I got my start lifting weights in this gym. Equipment and weight selection is varied and there are several squat racks, and the gym offers 24-hour staffed operation. I still visit when I am in South Jersey. It can get crowded and a little dirty at times, but overall a great value for $10 per month.

For $10 a month, this is a good gym. I've paid more at the LA Fitness for stuff I never use(pool, racquetball courts, spin classes, etc) so why waste my money if I just want some machines and weights? If you're not expecting a lot of the extra amenities like I mentioned, then you really get a lot for a little money. There's also a supplement supply store attached that sells things like protein powder at good prices. My only complaints are that the bathrooms are a little smelly and the wi-fi has a habit of cutting in and out.

The convenience of 24 hour access is great, however this is not a place for lifters. The place is very watered down to cater to a certain cliental. For instance, soft mats under your feet in the squat area, no squat rack, no dumbells over 75 PDS, these octagon plates that make it difficult to deadlift, no curl bar, and a personal pet peeve no shower rack to hold the your toiletry bag when you trying to shower. They do have tons of machines if you like that sorta stuff.

Never experienced management. Bathrooms were gross. I would rate this gym as neutral. I did conclusion my membership (beware of signing up, it is a contract) But I can say I do not mind paying an extra $25 a month to go to LA fitness for a nicer locker room, pool, sauna. For high school kids it's great for the price. I can't rate it lower than three stars because the equipment works and they are open 24/6. Not 7. They close early on Sundays.
