Before coming here, we were enrolled at a different program, and my son had zero interest in swimming—he resisted going and didn’t want to participate in class. Since switching to this school, everything has changed. Now he’s genuinely excited for every session and looks forward to swim days with enthusiasm.

Every instructor he’s worked with has been outstanding—patient, knowledgeable, and truly tuned in to each child’s needs. My little water bug loves to swim (thanks to goldfish swim school and staff for his lessons a couple years ago)! So for his 5th birthday party we couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate. We had never attended a birthday party there before so we weren’t sure what to expect. I can tell you everything went so smoothly and everyone had an awesome time. We’ve been bringing our 2-year-old son to swim classes every Saturday morning for about a month now and we are absolutely thrilled with the experience—especially since he started working with Ms. Amy. From the start, everyone at the facility has been incredibly flexible and accommodating. When we noticed that Jalen wasn’t quite thriving in his first class, we spoke with the supervisor, who was so kind, attentive, and helpful in guiding us toward a better fit for our son’s personality and learning style.

While his first instructor was very gentle and nurturing—which we appreciated, Jalen needed someone who could gently but firmly challenge him and help build his confidence in the water. Ms. Amy has been the perfect match. She has this amazing balance of assertiveness, warmth, and skill. From his very first class with her, Jalen was like a different child, willing to go underwater, eager to participate and visibly proud of himself. We were honestly amazed at the progress he made in just one session. Now, every Saturday morning, he lights up when we ask if he’s ready to go swimming with Ms. Amy.

It’s been such a joy to see him grow more confident and fearless each week. We truly appreciate Ms. Amy’s approach and how well she connects with Jalen. The entire staff has been nothing but professional, friendly, and supportive, and the facility is clean, inviting, and well-supervised. Where do I even begin!?!? There is so much to love about Goldfish Swim School - Middletown. First, it has ruined all public pools for us because of how incredibly clean the location is kept, and how diligent the staff is in checking the levels of the water. The changing room mats are exchanged a lot. The bathrooms are kept tidy. Garbages are spaced perfectly around the location. Service like this takes the cake. Then, the packages and specials this company offers for swim allows all to have the opportunity for swim safety courses for their littles. The whole family gets to be involved which makes the community so intrinsically special. Oh, and every pool location should absolutely provide the swimsuit dryers because not having to carry a wet bathing suit home is the best. But, these things don't even compare to the ultimate "bestest" thing to love about this location. We deeply love every staff member at this location. Every single person working at Middletown Goldfish Swim School is kind, caring, fun, and compassionate about what they do. They make all patrons feel appreciated. The leadership of Aangel is exquisite, and is exhibited in her staff every day. We feel like family with the staff and this makes the entire experience priceless. We will never be able to repay them for all they have done for us, but can honestly share how much we love them all. We highly recommend this location and team.

We can’t say enough good things about Kayla! She’s an amazing swim instructor who really knows how to connect with kids. Our son went from never having a swim lesson to reaching the Glider 2 level in just three weeks at the Jumpstart clinic, and it’s all thanks to her.

I was told how great goldfish swim school was but really didn’t understand until I registered my 5 year old daughter 3 months ago. Vincent is her swim instructor and he is amazing! My daughter was scared and nervous at first but Vincent gave her the confidence she needed a now 3 months later she’s so comfortable in the water and is swimming! We’re through our second swim class and my 2 year old has really progressed and is starting to love going to the pool. The group instruction consists of 6 toddlers and a parent each with 1 instructor. The class has followed the same routine for both weeks so far. There is some variation for when your child has had 3 or more introductory lessons. The pool room and pool water are both very warm. So far no complaints.

The Goldfish school exceeded my expectations. The school is perfectly designed for little swimmers. There is a large changing area with many private rooms, hair dryers, and swimsuit dryers. There are plenty of cubbies to store all of your things during class. Everything is clean and well maintained.

Clean. Friendly. But I have too many dislikes to continue justifying paying the hefty monthly price.

CONS:
1. It is so loud in the pool area, you can't even hear the instructor. Poor staff are nearly yelling for us. Too many times they apologized in advance for having a sore throat already. My 8 month old son seems a bit overwhelmed with how loud it it. Hell, I am.
2. Too many weird rules. The tokens, monthly enrollments, free family swim this day but not that - it is unnecessarily complicated. It is just swim class....
3. Scheduling is too difficult. You can only reschedule a week out. If I can't make my assigned weekly class and want to reschedule for the next week.... I can't. For example, if I have a Sunday class I can't make and want to reschedule for next Tuesday instead...I can't. I have to wait three days to even see if anything is available.
4. They change the pricing often.
5. My son isn't really learning anything. Once in awhile the instrcutor will offer to take your kid and dunk them in the water etc. But otherwise you don't learn any real skills.
6. The class is only 30 minutes. When you have three or four other families at the same time as you it isn't possible to really teach anyone student/parent anything. Plus - you can't hear them. The short class also makes anything more than a 15 min drive not worth it, in my opinion.

PROS:
1. Clean, bright and fun.

I think I would continue to go if the class was a little longer, I could schedule whenever I want as long as their is availability, or they had an option to just do family swim.
