I’ve been attending this gym for about a year and a half, and unfortunately, they have some control issues in the front area of the gym, and the manager and the owner of this place are completely unpleasant. You come to the gym to work out and relieve stress, but it’s incredible how negative the energy is in this place — it’s truly unpleasant. I’m currently in the process of ending my membership, and as for the manager, Tony, he’s very, very unfriendly and unprofessional in his work. It shouldn’t surprise me, since I’m not the only one with these comments about these people at this place — it’s truly dreadful. It’s amazing how these people expect to run a business with such negative energy and such an unpleasant attitude from the owner — it’s the worst I’ve seen in all my years of working out. Very unpleasant, a very unpleasant person, and the manager is no better. I don’t recommend this place to anyone. I did have the chance to meet some incredible people, though — like the cleaning guy, Ángel, who’s a really good person. Unfortunately, he’s in a bad spot here. I never thought things would end this way, but it’s the worst I’ve seen in the gym world — this place is the worst. Not the location itself, but the people working there make the place feel dirty and horrible.

Don’t join this gym! It has been a nightmare trying to cancel my membership and they refuse to stop charging me. I signed up to a three year contract with Tony after my year contract in the Totowa location was canceled. He asked me if I had a boyfriend and proceeded to say that if things get serious and you guys move in together that they would be able to cancel my membership with no problem. It just so happens that I move back to NY and I go to try to cancel my membership. At the location I was told that only a manager could help me cancel it so I proceed to call twice a week to see when a manager will be there and every time I would confirm and go, he conveniently isn’t there. Mind you I had to pay the $18 toll every time I crossed. After a month I got fed up, went and was told to email the billing department. Why wasn’t I told this in the first place! I email and show them a copy of my lease and they say that they don’t take leases. I am on the lease with mother and the bills are in her name. They give me an incredibly hard time as I’m sending any document I can to prove I moved, even my ID with my New York address. At the end they say they’ll accept the rent bill. I was told that I would only be responsible for the April 19th dues as they have a 30 day notice and I sent in the cancellation form April 15th and receive a follow up email confirming that they received it the 16th. It is now May 20th and they charged me again. When I emailed, they said they have a 30 day notice. The 30 days had already passed and they’re trying to get away with charging me again. I told them this is unacceptable and have proof with time stamps saying that my membership would be officially canceled May 18th. I’ve never had this bad of an experience at any other gyms. Even the totowa location charged me months after I canceled with the billing department over the phone. I do not recommend at all!

Cancelled my membership July 29th 2024 with notice because my membership was ending August 16th. I was charged again on September 16th and they claimed that I never handed it in after they “misplaced my form” do not join this gym. Even if you’re willing to look past the broken cardio equipment and grimy condition of the weights these people are crooks.

Tony is a liar. Just a heads up. He goes against his word. Me and my boyfriend told him specifically that we will move out March of 2024, so we’ll need our membership to end by then. He told us that’s completely fine and that we can do that. Come end of February we go to the front desk to make sure our memberships will end March FIRST. Tony starts acting up and saying that you need proof that you’re leaving. So we show him the LEASE we signed. And he says that’s not good enough. He tells us we need some type of proof that we live there. Our move is to TEXAS, and we just signed our lease, how is that not good enough proof? But that wasn’t good enough for him. Overall, he doesn’t keep his word. If you want a membership here, he will do everything he can to make sure you can’t cancel. All because he want a couple extra dollars in his pocket. Worst gym I’ve ever been to .

I went to try out the gym at 10 P.M. during a week day in December. The staff were polite and let me sign in to try out the gym. They also gave me a small towel to use.

The gym is very large. It has a half dozen treadmills, ellipticals, dumbbell areas, and space to stretch or do calisthenics. What was disappointing to me is that there were only two traditional exercise bikes both in old condition missing pieces and the one bike did not work when pressing start so there was no resistance. Having broke equipment in December is a bad sign the owner does not maintain the gym year round.

The gym also has a lifting area but all the weights are thrown around in different places, the bar clips were old and broken hard to take off the bar, and the equipment was very old. Reminds me of YMCA but for a lot more money.

Another thing I did not like is that there were old lifting machines that felt loose or wobbly. The leg curl machine especially looked old and felt old. Seeing the equipment's plastic rotting away showing metal underneath showed extreme wear and tear with no replacement of maintenance. Also there were only two leg curl machines for a large gym, so during rush hour may be bogged down by people.

I personally will not be joining the gym due to poor maintenance as well as lack of surplus equipment. I did not use or care about the sauna or amenities so that may be a positive if you're interested in them.

$60 a month is too much for a gym that is not organized or well maintained. The biggest negative is the outdated and poorly maintained gym equipment.

This is the biggest gym I've ever belong too. Large variety of equipment to use. Multiple machines available that serve the same purpose. Everyone is very nice. No one bother's you while you are working out even during peek hours. I recommend this gym to anyone looking for a good place to workout.

dont be fooled. not only is it disgusting, unsafe for woman because they keep a "men working" sign in the woman's area and workers walk in constantly, they lied about me being able to cancel when I move to Hoboken like I CLEARLY stated. the owner said it would be absolutely no problem and now he is shaming me for having a different last name as my husband which is also wildy inaproperate. the purple mat in the womans room looks like something died on it, I literally have a photo I can send if this doesn't get resolved.

Please don’t go here. This gym is not maintained properly, no cooling in place or ventilation- I have had to walk out and not finish my workout multiple times because it was so hot and humid and I thought I was going to faint. Insane lack of functioning equipment, cables don’t work half the time, padding on machines is missing, machines don’t glide or are properly maintained, missing sets of dumbbells- most of the time you’ll find 1 of 2, unless it’s the less used weights. Because there are not enough weights. 75% of the cardio equipment is there for show, because it doesn’t work. Don’t believe me? Try it for yourself. Get a guest pass and go try the machines. You’ll likely have to try two or three before finding one that works. Bathrooms are disgusting- urine on the floor, even in the women’s restroom. No soap in the dispensers. Everything is outdated. Dirty.

Don’t waste your time or money. This is not the place to get a proper workout. I would literally rather go to Blink or Planet Fitness and I am a year-round gym goer who takes my workouts very seriously. This place is truly awful, and at $54/month (and a once a year $70 charge- just don’t know where they’re putting this money bc it’s not towards fixing anything at the gym) you should definitely find another option.

They have a variety of machines and rooms to practice common sports I personally use the boxing and the kick boxing one. I’m only giving 4/5 is because they should clean the kickboxing room more often since the bag is full of water to keep it still it spills on the floor plus the dust it makes the floor look muudy.

My star is because I have been a member of this gym for more than a year, and the STAFF across the street is a hopeless case, you arrive and most of them don't even have a good morning and they have a bad face as if they had a hard time serving you! I had already made a formal complaint a few months ago and I will do it again for the girls across the street! most of them come to work angry with the world and so they treat us like garbage or like you're not bothering me or asking for anything! they really need to give them a crash course on how to treat people on the front lines! They simply don't give you a greeting and they prefer to be on their phone and not hang up the call to attend to you! Very nice the that the no commitment membership requires a 60 day cancellations notice. Very convenient that when I cancelled this wasn’t mentioned and I get an email saying I’ll be charged for the next two months. Be upfront. The gyms Wi-Fi also works roughly 20% if the time in an area with no cell reception. And there are never any rope attachments available. (This review would not have been written without the sneaky charge that was never mentioned to me in person when I cancelled)

Review from the point of view of someone who goes to the gym six days a week for a few years now. I've been a member of multiple chain gyms throughout Bergen and Passaic County.
I saw the reviews, asked about the monthly contract, and its price seemed somewhat fair.
It's getting warmer these days and they don't seem to be turning up the AC! Most of the other gyms keep the temperature much cooler temperatures so that there are fewer people hanging out just wasting time on their cell phones and taking up equipment. Of you're sweating five minutes into your workout, most likely it's not that you're working out hard. Even touching surfaces it's almost sticky due to high humidity. This is why I canceled my membership here.
As far as equipment, it looks like they have everything you need for strength training. Some of the equipment needs to be oiled (WD-40) to cut the squeaks including ceiling fans. Two stars since the lack of air conditioning makes one feel like almost passing out. It could've been 3 or 4 stars. The gym should be somewhere you're happy, not feeling like you're going to die of heat exhaustion. I've gone at 5 AM+ and 10 PM+ due to my work schedule and it's great that you really have most members very into their workout versus the "seat warmers on their cell phones" however, that's most places especially during peak times.

Overall, I really wish they'd crank up the AC and wonder if it's just to increase their refrigerated cold water sales. As the days get hotter, I don't want to be here! Things were not perfect however, AC is critical to keeping somewhat cool and pushing hard. Good luck to existing and new members.

They were nice and helpful when I signed up. After a year, I was looking to cancel cause the gym is out of my way after I moved. I went in and let the front desk person know what I was trying to do and she tells me I have to come in when a manager is there. She was very dry and didn’t say anything further to help me. I asked her “when is the manager going to be here” and she tells me that it varies and that she doesn’t know, and I can tell she was bothered by my questions and didn’t want to help me. I had to keep asking her a bunch of questions until finally she gave me the manager’s card. Something she could have done from the beginning.

I tell the manager, Tony about this interaction and it just gets dismissed with a “I’ll handle it”. The conversation moves further, and he starts saying things like “oh she was right, only a manager can cancel” which wasn’t my concern anymore. My concern was that she was rude and unhelpful and Tony isn’t that helpful either. Seems like he enables his staff to be rude.

I understand that I can’t cancel my membership due to the distance being too close, so now my only option is to cancel my bank account. Good luck getting my money guys!! 😜

I never had problems with this gym that wasn't resolved satisfyingly. I have been and still am an active member of this gym. I have been a member now for the past 10 years. When I had issues with my account, it was and has always been handled professionally and quickly. I think it's an excellent facility for what I need to keep fit.
I was using the gym at least five days a week. I choose to work out usually very early in the morning, like at 5 am when it's never crowded. It's always clean and neat everything in its proper place. The morning staff Keri is ... Excellent!
Most of the clientele coming in that early are quiet, mind their own business and just "work out." I like that; it works for me, and that is why I stay. I highly recommend this gym.

Everyone is really nice, and helpful. This rate is not about the staff at all! I gave them 3 stars because I lost count of how many machines have out of order signs, how many dumbbells in the studio that are broken, they won't turn the water fountain back on, the saunas are either not turned on or broken...its a headache to be excited to workout then that ruins your entire plan. They have a new owner who evidently doesn't care...the money they could have used to fix the cardio machines was put into a rotating security device (like the blockades they have in the subway) at the entrance. Priorities.

However, I can't simply only state the negatives. The man that cleans the gym (he's always there) is incredible. The locker rooms are immaculate at all times. Carmen runs a supplement shop with her husband and they KNOW what they're talking about while providing natural and effective supplements. The desk staff is usually in a good mood and always says hi.

It's sad. This used to be a great gym.

The gym is great & is open 24/7 (with the exceptions of weekends).The only frustrating issue is that every morning there's no sanitizing wipes (although they do provide bottles and towels to wipe down...I prefer not to carry more stuff around the gym then necessary...Maybe hang some bottles up around the facility?), some machines remain broken and they charge a yearly maintenance fee and there is really no maintaining of the equipment that I can see :(

Membership is terrible. You try and cancel and they say it was processed you won’t get charged next month. You check your card and see it was charged twice the next month for membership and yearly maintenance charge. They claim “they never received a cancellation form” or “ who ever processed your cancellation doesn’t work here anymore” . They’ll refuse to give you your money back. Make copies and take pictures of you handing in your cancelation form because they will rob you of $60+ if your not on top of it . Never had this issue with any other gym. To say I was excited to go back to the gym after being absent for 7 months is an understatement.I went back today but unfortunately I was quite disappointment at the lack of inforcement of the mask protocol with many people having either a part of the mask or all of it pulled down off their face while working out,seen one guy with a face shield and no mask like the 2 actually do the same job.At this point I will just try a different time and see what happens.

My contract was supposed to expire in April but apparently because of covid it was extended.

I moved 2 hours away and had to call several times to get my contract cancelled, once I got a hold of the account manager she told me I could send the lease as proof and fill out the cancellation paper work. I called back and talked to Tony who claimed that they never received anything although they replied to my email after I sent my lease.

Shady and fraudulent business. They are clearly losing customers due to covid and have to resort to such low scam.

Don't go to @GoldsGym signed up for a free trial while gym shopping to the Teterboro location, I received my online confirmation and when me and my fiancee showed up they wouldn't let us enter. The gym wasn't even half full and we both had masks on.

I bought a membership in groupon gym in good nice big and staff was friendly only thing they took long to give me my pass for golds but other than that they were good

It’s a golds I love it there as a guy but a word of advice for the owners management or staff whoever you would make way more money if the bulbs where brighter it’s a little dark females don’t like that. Dungeon look guys love female not so much. But the equipment and weights excellent.

A mean sneaky bunch of people that run the gym. pretend to be nice. And rather loose 2 clients over a few dollars than to meet their clients expectations. Definitely read every line of the contract and keep a copy. You start month to month for 1 year . Then suddenly you are on another contact without contacting you first. Then when you try canceling some how you are responsible for extra Payments. I wanted to take a break then renewed my contract but , I definitely will not go back there. They try to get your money.

I had very bad experience here...i had 40$/mo plan and they didn't clear me that they will charge 50$ extra fee evrey 3 moths and thn when I canceled the plan they took extra 3 months to cancellation so i lost so much money here...
