Started my journey six months ago at Hanley Strength Systems. It is my first experience at a training facility and it has been a great experience. The support from Mike and the community gives me the strength to come to each session and give 100% toward my goals. Hanley Strength is a truly unique gym experience. As someone that always struggled to keep a gym routine, I feel like Mike has created the secret sauce to success. Previously, I had either used a professional trainer at the gym... only as long as I could stand the friendly banter and the expense; or tried to go it alone.... only so long as I kept up that individual motivation, or wasn't pulled away by something else.
These days my workout is planned for me and updated monthly, without a minute's thought. I can schedule, review and track my workouts all from my phone, with the free apps that sync with Hanley Strength. Two days a week, I walk into the gym, where Mike always greets me with a friendly but professional attitude. He answers every question I have, coaches without being intrusive, encourages my own understanding, and generally creates a friendly, hard-working, motivational atmosphere at the gym.

Mike is fantastic, the gym itself is great, and the community is supportive and uplifting. I have experience training for endurance sports, but never weight lifting. Mike walked me through all the lifts and guided form over time, finding a perfect balance between pushing me to build strength (my goal) and the learning curve. I think the most impressive part is how he works so well with people at all different stages - people who haven’t ever done much with training to people who clearly have been strength training for years.
If you’re on the fence, go give it a try!!! You will have fun AND definitely get stronger. 💪💪💪

Trust the process! I did not know how to train after 50, I was tired of going to the gym not really knowing what to do to get the realistic results I wanted. Mike Hanley is immensely knowledgeable in full body strength training, the gym is clean, the workouts are challenging and not overcrowded & the other members are friendly. Definitely recommend when you want someone else to figure it out for you, and you just want to show up & do the work!

This time one year ago i was recovering from my 20th surgery. Low back surgery. I have been coming to Mike for six months and i feel the best i felt in years. Back, hip and piriformis pain are gone. Just a few months ago I was barely doing 5 pushups on an incline assisted with a bench and now I am knocking out 20 on the floor and feeling great.

Found this place via the mind body app during an offseason beach weekend . I easily booked through the app and was immediately welcomed upon entering. We were visiting the area and dropped in to train. We couldn't have been made more welcome. Mike is an excellent coach- it is clear that he has a depth of experience and knowledge. The equipment was high-quality and well maintained- particularly the weightlifting bars, plates and platforms. Mike went above and beyond, helping me make changes to my snatch technique that really helped me out. This gym has a great atmosphere, everyone was friendly, had been well-coached and were overall getting after it, which is such a motivating culture to train in. Such a pleasure to find this gym. Would highly recommend to anyone, and if I lived closer, would not hesitate to work with Coach Hanley.

We couldn’t have been happier to find Hanley Strength Systems while staying in Cape May for a wedding. The space is clean, well arranged, and has everything needed for a great strength training sessions. Mike, the owner, is a great guy and helped coach me a bit while we worked out on our own.

I have been training with Mike since June '16. During my recent annual check up that my Dr. told me Nov '17 Dexa/Bone density scan showed reversal of osteoporosis symptoms. I do not need to take any meds to prevent this disease. I was thrilled to hear this news. I wanted to share.
Mike has a program for senior woman like me, it is Mini cross fit training 3 times a week. I am so not into taking meds, I worked hard at it hoping that my Dr would agree once she sees the bone density result. Now my Dr .was so impressed too, she told me keep doing what I have been doing.
Keep in mind Weight bearing excursive are done with a trainer, that's when Mike comes in. He watches you every step of the way, so you keep the proper form. I was always in a decent shape but, that didn't diminish my osteoporosis signs and worries.
All women should do this kind of exercise, but, be sure to do NOT do this alone. Mike Hanley offers classes at reasonable rates and time too. Stop by at his gym and talk to him, I recommend highly.
