I really wanted to enjoy my experience here, but I’ve had several disappointments. I signed up for swimming lessons expecting a hands-on experience. In the beginning, my instructor, Kristin, was in the pool with me, which made me feel encouraged and supported. Later, she switched to standing outside the pool and only giving verbal directions (which I did mention to her). I understand this may be part of the teaching method, but for me, it felt too soon—I still needed hands-on support. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the right fit, so I chose to discontinue my lessons.

On top of that, when I rescheduled a missed lesson, I drove 40 minutes to the facility only to be told there was a scheduling error. That wasted time and effort added to my frustration.

I hope this feedback helps improve both communication and consistency for future clients.

I have known this gym for years. Years when it had other names. It offers tons of different equipment for everyone's needs. The atmosphere is easy going and very welcoming. I will not go anywhere else.

It’s a decent gym. Lots of equipment and weights - complete opposite of Planet Fitness and Retro. Showers and locker room are extremely nice. Could use attention on broken equipment and sprucing up, especially regarding the roof leaks. Stuck in a contract so making the best of it but won’t be renewing.

Have been a member for years. Some of the front desk people have an attitude especially one of the older lady’s who works the desk and thinks she’s the owner. Always something broken. Rain buckets when it rains. Pool is dirty. Also very expensive compared to other gyms around for what you get. Bad interaction with staff is a negative for me. Had an issue with a key tag… Provide a key tag and fix the problem. Handled very poorly.

Equipment isn’t that good, terrible atmosphere and the gym is cold in the winter.

I have been coming here for a few weeks and before I signed up I had wanted to ensure that the pool was either 25 yards or 25 meters - when I asked at the front desk and asked if the pool was 25 meters, I was told “it’s yards.”

Rather than owning up to any mistake or miscommunication I was treated extremely rudely and received more than a few snarky comments and looks while trying to have a simple conversation.

Other than that, I stopped lifting here because the equipment (machines, dumbbells, squat racks, etc.) is rather poor quality and decided to just continue to go to retro fitness in Lincroft. The interior is rather dark, the although it’s a very large gym, the equipment is not organized very well and found I was taking 2 minute commutes to each piece of equipment I wanted to use. This was the fourth gym I have gone to in the area and probably ranks the lowest in my experience. What attracted me was the cheap price and the sauna, but I will be taking my money elsewhere.

This place is filled with old equipment, broken glass and rusty weights. Tried it for a day and was not impressed. For $60 a month there are better options here. I also tried Renzo Gracie and it was equally bad. Watch your CC info as they like to bill you for months in advance

Walked in to check it out and I am glad I went when it was raining because there were buckets everywhere. Pool was dirty. Also very expensive compared to other gyms around for what you get. For a bit more they just opened a lifetime fitness that has everything...is very clean, offers all sorts of tennis/pickle ball courts and even has an outdoor pool.

I have to say. Yes, the staff here seem nice, but I'm here to work out. The lighting in this gym is horrible and depressing. It's dark half the.the gym. While they just made it lighter by the bikes, finally after being a member here for a while. Lighting changes the mood. I hope they can make that better. Also, there has been 2 mirrors that have been broken for a very long time, and the carpets are very old and stained. I am paying about $54 a month, and that is more than the other gyms in the area. I am here because their machines are better than the other gym I was in, but they are dated as well. I wish they can update this gym for the montly dues we pay.

Old, rusty weights, broken mirrors and the mens sauna was down for a while with broken glass. They blamed it on "members" (They had a sign in front saying members broke it) and punished the rest of them by not fixing it for months. Lifetime fitness will be opening in 2024 with a full array of services for not much more than what this place charges ($60/month+)

I've been a member of I Am Fitness for a very long time. I've watch the renovations blossom into a beautiful gym. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and teach a really great class. I am really enjoying the salt water pool, steam room and sauna. I feel like I am at a spa. The equipment is excellent and you'll definitely get a great workout . I Am Fitness gym has everything and is a must see. You won't be disappointed.

I've been working out here for about 3 years now and I love it! There is never a long wait for machines or weights, the people who go there are always kind and helpful, and the staff is friendly. They also have great amenities like the sauna and steam room open to any members as well as the pool. The have a bunch of great programs they are always running along with lots of different classes.

I have ( over the years ) been a member of many gyms. IAMFITNESS is by far the best of them all. Great equipment, steam room , sauna and a pool. Lots of classes and a very pleasant staff. I am always greeted with a smile. I highly recommend this gym if you are looking for a "complete" place to work out.

The gym is large and roomy, with 2 floors. First floor is mostly free weights with the machines on the second floor. I like working out here because I don't have to wait for machines and they have a good variety. Locker room has a sauna and steam room. The is also a pool for doing laps.

Wide open facility with new weight machines. A lot of free weights to choose from. Newly renovated lobby area & locker rooms are beautiful since re-opening after the pandemic shutdown. Looks like more renovations & additions coming. They provide all the necessary cleaning products to keep the members safe. Affordable membership with group classes included is a great value. Can't wait for spin classes to be allowed again when all is safe.

Hands down I AM fitness is where the winners be! I love this gym! The equipment works most of the time and has few breaks. Staff has always been friendly to me. This isn't your typical modern style gym it's old school, its gritty, yes there are damaged walls and mirrors but a gym isn't supposed to look pretty. For all the negative reviews this isn't a beauty salon so stop discrediting it for it's looks. Some areas were still under renovation last time I came in (the pool, and men's sauna) hopefully this will be fixed soon. As far as memberships it was affordable, and my monthly charges were fairly priced.

Really sweet and helpful staff and instructors. Owners just need to prioritize. The pool, saunas, steam rooms and ceilings are a hot mess or just straight up dont work.. yet they are doing construction on the main entrance. Doesnt make sense and is very frustrating. The managers lie directly to your face when you ask if certain things will be fixed soon. However, it goes back to the top. If my instructor ever quit, I probably will too.

Too many repair promises that havent been touched in years, dry sauna can be fixed, they dont bother. Complaints go into non listening ears. I call the mens change area the dog hole, especially watching it fall to pieces! Wet sauna works sometimes!

Just moved to the area and was excited to check this gym out. OMG...the place is a disaster! I don’t even know how they are allowed to be open with all the code violations due to the construction inside. The gym is very dirty and all the weights and equipment are very old. It appeared that no one puts weights away and they are in no order whatsoever. The men’s locker room is disgusting. Surprisingly the gym was busy. Unless they are offering Free memberships, I have no idea why anyone would want to be a member here!

I disliked their customer service not the place itself. I bought a Groupon access to the gym to be valid, as the ad said, for 90 days since the moment you first present the Groupon. That would have given me time until about mid April. To my surprise I was told upon presenting the Groupon that because of new ownership the gym will accept such already sold and paid for Groupons until a set date of March 15. I wanted to go more but then I realised life does get in the way sometimes and thus...I wouldn't be able to use my access because of the ....time I was given that was denying basically the online ad. I contacted Groupon, they don't do much, act like robots, because they earn money by running ads apparently even if the ads are deceitful and it was brought to Groupon's atention. The said they gave my phone to the gym, and I said that it passed more than 2 weeks and no one contacted me.Still no one contacted me from the gym (why would I be given different story at the entrance than what I paid for?) I liked the place and I would have continued to go there had it would have been for this unprofessional situation recently.

My experience at 360 fitness has been the opposite of what I have read. I purchased a martial arts membership which included my gym membership. I am happy! I am learning from some of the top martial arts instructor's in the world Renzo Gracie BJJ and am utilizing the free weight area for strength and conditioning. The place is very busy and has a good and serious vibe.

DO NOT TRUST THIS GYM WITH YOUR FINANCIAL INFORMATION!! I am a member here who will be getting out of my contract as soon as I can because of how they handle debiting your account. If you are late they will try to hit your account OVER AND OVER. On top of that they add massive late fees and also debit those over and over and over and over until they come out.

Lets say you are late because things are tight, and you put money in your account for gas or electric. BAM you're gym will pull that out right away without ANY form of contact to you. Effectively screwing you.

Most of their equipment is broken and the gym is also generally dark and dirty chock full of grunting and shouting body builders.

I will be joining LA fitness in Middletown. They're in the same area, month to month, and their equipment isn't broken

** Update. After I wrote this review they contacted me and I told them I'd settle the late balance on this upcoming Friday. Almost immediately after agreeing to that over the phone they debited my account for both months. So they took $68 out of my rent money, without permission, in direct violation of our spoken agreement.

Despite the terrible reviews, I decided to give 365 Fitness a shot. Explicitly, due to their hours. After having my membership for about a couple of months now here are my observations/review:

- A lot of the machines, cardio and weights alike, are old and falling apart. I sometimes fear that I am going to get hurt on a lot of the machines due to them being poorly maintained. Elliptical machines are shaky. Some weight machines have a harsh/non-fluid motion to them. Pins and clips (I'm not sure what they are called exactly) for the weight machines are sometimes non-existent and you have to go looking around for one. The machines are also quite filthy and could really use a good scrubbing. A sponge and some Fantastik would do wonders and isn't difficult. I almost feel compelled to bring my own and do it myself.

- Both the male and female steam rooms have been out of service for weeks.

- I don't know about the women's shower situation, but the men's shower 1) badly needs to be power washed and cleaned more often 2) the water temperature knobs on ALL of the showers are broken. It's a crapshoot when it comes to getting hot water. Sometimes I can shower there, sometimes after trying for 15 minutes and having sub-arctic temperature water spewing out I give up. The men's locker room itself really needs to be cleaned more often in general.

- They have one scale in the entire place. I personally don't care, but if you didn't want anyone to see how much you weigh, you are out of luck. It's right at the top of the stairs in the middle of all of the weight machines. Why they don't have scales in the locker rooms is beyond me.

- On the rare occasion that they have towels available the towels are pretty gross. Torn and stained. They were washed, but I have encountered a couple of blood stained ones. Pretty disgusting nonetheless.

I've never used any of the classes/MMA/free weight section/pool so I am unable to report on those.

From reading prior reviews, apparently, they have been talking about and hyping up an overhaul and upgrade of the entire facility for a long time now. It looks like they have been claiming that they are "in the process" for nearly a couple of years now.

On a positive note, the staff seems pretty friendly and if you go at night you'll essentially have the place to yourself.

I'm not sure how any of the other gyms are in the area, but if you can make it to the more limited gym hours elsewhere I would recommend doing so.

I just called to complain about the services and the condition of the gym that I pay $26.95 a month for. A couple months back my son cracked his tooth on faulty piece of equipment. 365 Stepped up and did the right thing by taking a report and reimbursing the dentist bill. Unfortunately it stops there. Promises made over a year ago about renovations to the gym are still not completed. When I started to complain, I was told the "NEW" tread mills were coming in tomorrow.....I guess he was trying to shut me up. Long story short, he said that I can cancel my son's membership after I pay two more months of service. He had no problem losing a good paying customer. Great customer service.......NOT.
