Everyone is always welcoming in this gym, its always spotless in the gym, and everyone is always encouraging each other to push harder in the gym as well. La Fitness in NJ is definitely one of the best facilities I’ve ever been to and I will always be coming back. UPDATE 10/20:
I went back to the gym but this time early in the morning and during the weekday. Complete difference experience! The morning crowd were very nice and considerate, even offering to move machines for me so I could get my full workout in. I was with my dad and this woman moved over a treadmill so we could run next to each other. No one was on a machine for more than 15 minutes or just texting on their phone not working out. The morning is definitely where it's at!! I definitely have a different opinion now and I thank the Monday morning crowd for that!

First opinion::
I got a 7 day pass to go. Don't think I'll be back. It was too crowded for me. I tried stretching in this quiet room, half way into my lunges, these two girls set up directly in the path I'm walking. The room was huge and that was rude, they had space to go somewhere else but instead got in my way which made me stop and leave the room. Then I wanted to do leg press and they're was only 2 machines and both people were texting on their phones instead of using the machine. I just don't think this gym is for me

This is an alright gym. Pretty big, but a lot of the equipment is always in use, so it can be hard to get what you're looking for. Also, they don't regularly restock their wipes to clean the machines. So be prepared to share sweat with somebody

Personal training sessions are pretty expensive, and if you don't talk to the correct person to cancel your plan, you will continue to get charged. I tried to cancel at the beginning of Feb. Was told I had until the 28th to use my remaining sessions, but i wouldn't get charged another month. Then I get charged again for March anyways, and they refuse to refund the money because I was lied to and don't remember the person who originally said they canceled my plan.

A shame. I fell for the typical scam of a gym not allowing you to cancel your plan when you want.

I came in to pay with apple pay and Tanya the rep at the front desk could not tell me why apple pay was not working since i did not want my card to be saved on file. She said i could not enter the gym because their wireless payment service was not working. This is the second time that i tried to make a new payment with apple pay and it does not work. Signed up my wife for their training program a few months ago. We completed the contract term or so we thought it would be over however they kept charging us. When we spoke to the training manager he was unhelpful and dismissive. KIDS CLUB !
My children’s socks every time we leave the kids club!!! There should be no shoes allowed on carpet where children play, crawl, walk!!! It’s unsanitary, I’ve seen parents, workers and children walk on the carpet with shoes on ! BACTERIA!! It’s not right! Children are getting sick because of this!! Staff needs to start cleaning the toys as well because babies put toys in their mouth from the dirty carpet! Power wash the carpets this is insane ! Please fix this ! I’m a current member and this is just awful ! My kids socks should never be this filthy everyday I pick them up ! 😒😡

Update : the manager of the facility spoke to me and fixed this issue immediately and addressed all of my concerns promptly, I love going to this facility with my kids !! 10/10 recommend other moms need to invest into this place !

Privacy concerns
I usually go to a different location, but I stop by this one every now and then. Overall, it’s a good gym. However, today Sunday, Sept 14th this morning, while I was in the women’s locker room shower, a male janitor came in from the back yelling “janitor coming through.”

Staff should post a clear sign at the front entrance before entering, instead of walking through the showers. It made me and others very uncomfortable. I like this gym, but this is something that needs to be fixed so members feel safe and respected.

I recently visited this LA Fitness by chance it was definitely an amazing experience. I loved the variety of equipment and the spacious layout. I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the online cancellation process provided by LA Fitness. The system requires a verification code sent via email, yet I consistently experience significant delays, often waiting up to a full day to receive the email. Upon finally receiving it, the provided link invariably states that it has already expired.

As a result of this frustrating and seemingly intentional impediment, I have paid a full year's annual fee without the ability to cancel my membership. This experience has been so negative that I will not consider any future engagement with LA Fitness.

I like this gym for the equipment, space, air conditioning, and childcare. However, like most of the comments here, I find I walk in now and only one person makes the effort to say hello, and she is one of the more professional staff, but the rest are on their phone scrolling like they would rather be anywhere but there. Good luck getting a dumbbell workout as the rack is always empty or the weights are in the wrong location.

I have not used the pool or anything like that, but I probably would not as I know I have different standards for hygiene and do not want to share a pool with anyone, as per my personal preference. Other than the issues I mentioned, the gym is really decent and could be better if they had staff implementing and encouraging members to put weights away once done and thanks to the few of the staff that will show customer service.

When I did my tour of the Gym what sold me was the pool. I even made it clear that my plan was to swim every day. It would have been nice if I was told the pool was out of service. The pool has been out of of service since I joined, making it 46 days and counting. Be sure to ask is it working yet, before you join!

This LA fitness is state of the art compared to the others in middlesex county. It has the pool, big locker rooms, green astroturf and the respective cycle/ class rooms. It’s not free of broken equipment but way less than my other location. You can tell it’s maintained, air conditioner works (unlike other locations) and pool area is clean. My preferred location. Front desk can be strict compared to other locations.
