Not gone lie, I don’t appreciate that EVERY PAYING customer that roughly pays over 40-45 dollars to workout here and use the basketball gym is being penalized just because some “kids” are consistently using the fire door to sneak in the facility, that is by far not my problem and us LA Fitness members deserve better because not only did La fitness shut down the basketball gym for th day because of non members, but also didn’t even bother to notify by via text/email. It very unprofessional and very unfair to the others that actually pay to come here because I’ve been coming to this since it opened in 2021 and I’ve never had this problem before until now and it needs to be addressed because this is the second time I’ve been told the basketball gym is closed over this nonsense. Very inconsiderate!

I’ve been coming to this gym regularly, but I’m really disappointed that the leg extension machine has been broken for three weeks now. Every time I come in, I check, and it’s still out of order with no updates or sign of repair. It’s frustrating because this is an important part of my leg workout, and I’m paying for a full gym experience that isn’t being maintained properly. I hope management addresses this soon — it’s been long enough.

I keep going to the fitness center, but I’m really disappointed. First of all, the jacuzzi hasn’t been working for over three weeks. When I ask about it, it’s like they’re joking with me, saying, “We’ll fix it eventually, we don’t know when, but we’ll get to it.” Last time, the steam room wasn’t working either. Yeah, it was out of order for just one day, but when I asked, I said, “Guys, what’s next?” and they replied, “Next, the sauna.” So nothing is working! What’s so hard about fixing a jacuzzi? We’re paying for this! And the showers themselves the water flows unevenly, sometimes no hot water Basically, because there’s no alternative, it just keeps getting worse.

James, who claimed to be a vice president but is actually the Director of Personal Training, treated us rudely in front of everyone and did not allow us to continue training as a group. We were five women from the same family, and we felt discriminated against and disrespected. We hope the gym takes action on this matter because this kind of behavior does not reflect the respect or values a fitness facility should stand for.

Manager is downright rude, ineffectual, and condescending ordering on cruel. Mi one has etiquette in the pool.
I have spinal injuries and a hip injury that flares up to the point where I use a king I have a very limited amount of things I can do physically, and I have joined this gym specifically for the pool and the whirl pool spa because the heat is incredibly beneficial for my joints . Anytime I have requested information and then a refund when the pool is shut -often for a 2-4 weeks at a time-I am snarkily told 'The membership isn't just for the pool. There's lots of other stuff you can do.'
Actually, there isn't.
I have damage to literally every level but 2 of my spine.
The water allows me to exercise safely.
Sauna is disgusting.
Men go in in their underwear. Sorry, I don't wanna see that.
It's a big deal to me and I deserve at least a partial refund when the things I use are closed.
I am still a member only because I have a grandfathered membership from when Esporta was in Parsippany. And unfortunately, my financial situation dictates what I can afford to pay for it.
With the current outage, he was downright nasty when I asked why nothing had been done to fix the whirlpool and over two weeks . Incredibly defensive and in no way apologetic that I had literally limped all the way across the parking lot WITH A CANE.
Additionally, why is there no time limit and sign up sheet for the pool-The way there is for cardio machines so so people cannot monopolize things other people are waiting for ?

Awful. Equipment breaks and isnt fixed for months. Multiple sinks in the bathroom are broken for months. The hand blowers flat out dont work. A tv screen has been broken for months. I joined in April 2025. There were several miscommunication from day 1. 1. I returned the following day to meet with the staff to be shown the facility. The staff person did not show. I was told I must have made a mistake in scheduling. It was never rescheduled. 2. My name was incorrectly entered into the system and never corrected. 3. I scheduled a training session online. When I arrived the trainer was not there 4. I thought I signed up for 1 month of training. Turned out I was billed for 6 months. I was told no refunds 5. I contacted corporate. After much email communication, I was told I would be contacted by the VP of personal training. Never happened. The original contact no longer answered. I canceled my membership but paid for 6 months of training. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Avoid this gym at all costs!
This is by far the worst gym experience I've ever had. It's impossible to get through a workout without being interrupted or waiting forever for machines—either because they're broken or there just aren’t enough. The place is always overcrowded, and the classes are a mess: overbooked, frequently canceled or rescheduled with zero notice, and there’s no consistent yoga instructor.
The sauna is disgusting—it literally smells like feces, and there's a ceiling leak with no "wet floor" sign, which is a safety hazard. To top it all off, the front desk staff are consistently rude and unprofessional.
Save your money and your sanity—go elsewhere.

I see that LA Fitness only respond to positive reviews! Today the yoga room was 78 degrees as usual. This is the second summer without air conditioning. Our instructor came in and said "I quit" and left apparently because of the tempeture. We had another instructor quit in June on Wednesday's for a class that had about 40 people every week and has never been replaced. Russ was our instuctor for 3 days a week, now that he is gone will there be replacements?

Don’t know what is happening with this gym. I joined this gym for the classes. Recently we lost some good teachers and classes were cancelled without notification. The room where classes were held, despite repeated complaints from everyone, was hot all summer. Today it reached 79 degrees in the room and during our class, our sneakers were squeaking and sticking from the high humidity in the room. It was totally unacceptable and even the instructor said it was disgusting. When will management address this issue? Time to start looking for another gym.

This is an amazing gym! The staff is amazing, the workers are hardworking, cool instructors, and a beautiful gym. LA Fitness is a great company and encourage people to come and workout and be part of LA Fitness. Taking classes, having a trainer, and doing different exercises is a great way to stay in shape. Housekeeping does a great job maintaining the entire building clean. I want to give a great review on how hardworking Vinnie has been as a general managers, the trainers are hardworking, and know how to train their members. When I was at Esporta, I had great memories working out there. Now I have formed beautiful memories here and I continue to do so. The gym is a great compared to all the other LA fitnesses in Morris County. The Manager Vinny is a great guy and they have a wonderful staff. Their trainers are top tier as well. I've been a member for 2 years the only downside is the maintenance and time it takes for machines to get fixed other than that for $40 you get a sauna, jacuzzi and steam room compared to spending $60 at Crunch. Planet is cheaper but can't compare with the features this specific gym has to offer.

Love the location and amenities but unfortunately the steam room is still down md has been since September of 2024. Please repair as it's one of the best amenities , also the pool area really needs some heavy maintenance, missing ceiling tiles causing pipes to drip into the pool, mold on the areas around the windows and drywall just molding away with all the excess humidity, also guys please lower the chlorine levels. Sadly had to move this to a one star reviews by constantly being lied to about the pool, hot tub and sauna area, last year the steam room was down for 9 months, now the hot tub has been down for almost 3 months. There is still mold in swimming area, lights flickering all the time, wifi not working half the time.
This location in my view is a massive failure.
Ive tried speaking with the manager Anthony and he is friendly but one week its the heater for the hot tub, the next week its the pump, the following month still not working and they say its because of permits.

I left this gym a year ago. Of the 8 showers only 3 ever worked. I was told because people were stealing the shower heads. I've had my shoes stolen out of my locker. The treadmills are old and worn. Buckets around the gym to catch water from the leaky ceiling. My fiancé just quit today because she keeps getting skin rashes from the equipment. I’m so fed up with this gym that I’m writing this review while on their dingy treadmill..

Machines have been broken for months on end leaving them unavailable. You can’t even read the digital numbers on the treadmill anymore as they’ve taken a beating. The locker rooms are so nasty that the next global pandemic will originate from them.

Been a member here for years until this place locked their doors at 9:20pm (closes at 10pm on Friday )when trying to get in for a last minute cardio sesh. There were two guys up at the front not noticing me banging on the glass doors. One guy had his head up in the clouds at the check in desk. Not figuratively . I saw him staring at the ceiling for no reason. The second dude was flirting with a few teenagers near the computers where I’m in his line of sight while knocking on the glass doors to be let in.

Finally, some dudes leaving the gym let me in. Calling tomorrow to cancel

The Parsippany club is excellent. Clean. Everything operates. The sauna works. The steam room is above and beyond. The benches are clean and the steam pumps out strong. The gym and facilities are average. They cannot seem to figure out the situation in the locker room. Out of 6 showers 1 is working. They put the effort in to fix the showers once a year and allow them to fall into disarray immediately after. When talking to staff their default answer is “We have a plumber coming”. The plumber must be hiking to their building from the other side of the world. It shouldn’t take six months to have a plumber in. There is a lack of ownership at the facility in terms of management and it shows. The gym has so much potential if the ownership actually cared about timely maintenance NEVERMIND preventative. Oh and if you’re going to use the locker room just know there will almost likely be female staff cleaning it at peak hours.

This is my first time leaving a review, but I had to do it for this gym. A lot of people like to point out all the negative things wrong with this gym and it has its issues, but I like to focus on the positives. I know things are breaking down, but that’s life. It seems like management is trying to do the best that they can, considering LA Fitness protocol. I enjoy the classes that they have and I love that the Sauna is not some small dark room like most LA Fitness’s. But the main reason for leaving a review today is because of their cleaning staff, especially the 2 ladies in the morning. They do an amazing job with keeping the place clean. Gym is otherwise nice,but the basketball court is always dusty on regular days, and wet and slippery on rainy days. It's like a skating rink. So many people keep slipping and falling. It's never cleaned no matter which day you go.
Just a very big lawsuit waiting to happen if someone gets hurt.
And I love how management (owner) only responds to positive reviews. Please manage the property correctly and respond to customer complaints. This is why all the lafitness around us have closed. Probably same management. This location is next.

Currently there is no manager on staff for more than a month, nobody is charge, not a single shower in the men’s locker room now works, they've been out of service for months and months, if not for years, even when the showers were fixed for brief periods of time then the hot water is on and off every 5 minutes, and mostly Off, Jacuzzi is out for weeks, a steam room is out for months, every second men’s locker is broken, and now the swimming pool is out of service and most likely forever also like all other things which never gets fixed, a bunch of pieces of equipment are broken for months, no maintenance whatsoever, barely being cleaned, a female cleans men's locker rooms, they even stopped doing landscaping around the building, it seems they just want to close it. Have never seen any club being neglected so badly. The nearby club in Randolph NJ is maintained well enough but this one seems to be about abandoned. It was a brand new club just a few years ago and it goes down the drain very quickly. The only thing seems to work well is their sales team trying recruit new unsuspicious members. It’s terrible. They need to invest money in fixing it and hire a manager.

Guess New Jersey health dpt ain't playing games for shutting down the pool and the Jacuzzi for "Unhealthy conditions" Good luck to all of us that used the pool and the Jacuzzi, hope we don't come down with some disease anytime soon. 10 out 10 showers in the men locker room out of service, steam room, been out for a year, every second stationery bike waiting for service and good luck finding a locker in the men locker room, half of them have signs taped on "awaiting service"
And ownership? don't think they give 3 craps about what's going on, just my take on observing what's been happening to the facility, the past 2 years

A lot of maintenance issues that are not being addressed timely. Women's bathroom is always leaking and you're stepping in puddles of water. Mold is present. A lot of machines are down. Swim and hot tub failed inspection in the past week so that's shutdown. Men's showers are all broken. Very sad since this has been ongoing for months and we are all still paying the full membership fees to use a partial gym.

This place has turned into a dump over run with too many members. If you want to go here be ready to have a plan b or plan c for your day because of all the broken equipment and to be here for hours waiting on people to get up when they are done doom scrolling. Watch out for the “maintenance” they do they will use their grabber around you while you’re working out and somehow the bathrooms are always disgusting. There’s a way to cancel your membership on their website see ya never LA.

This is great gym. Its very clean and good environment but takes too long for equipment to be repaired. Only 2 stairmasters are working out of 7. Some equipment has taken months to get fixed and the roof was leaking for like year. Needs to be maintained better.

I’ve been a member of LA Fitness since 2009. One thing I’ve noticed is that they are not maintaining the equipment in a timely manner over the years. I’ve seen broken water fountains, steam room that go out often, broken equipment, sauna that are not working, out faucets that don’t work. For example, there was a time when Three of 6 showers not working. Right now I’m experiencing that the steam room has been out at this facility for five months. In the past the thing had would go out in the past periodically for months and the repair man said that he told the company in the unit needs to be replaced, but they just wanted to put Band-Aids on it to not spend the money. Now this gym is very busy and it has been about five months. That’s an example of what we’re dealing with. They also have women cleaning the men’s locker rooms. The ladies do a pretty good job, butThe locker rooms aren’t cleaned frequently enough because of the high volume of traffic here. Hand dryer in the men’s bathroom that have been out for about a year. now I’m a contractor and I can tell you that thing could be replaced tomorrow if they wanted it done. Here is another, The shower in the pool area you used to rinse off before getting a pool or whirlpool was out for six months. Today the hot water went on for a minute and then it was off while I was in the shower! This is not the first time the hot water is gone out. I asked the guy at the front desk and he goes. Been coming here for a while now and just officially cancelled my membership. This gym used to be great. However in its present state: many cable machines are broken, equipment is not cared for/dirty, many stair masters are broken and so on. There was also at one point where only 2/5+ sinks were working here. For the price of about $45 a month for a membership here, you’d expect more quality. The gym is almost always packed and it is very hard to get a workout.

Updated Review: This is by far the worst gym in the area. Period.

If you’re looking for a matched set of weights, good luck—you’ll have to search the entire gym to find them. On top of that, the men’s locker room is a disaster. Out of ten shower stalls, only two are ever open, leading to a line of people waiting just to rinse off. And when you finally get a turn? The water turns ice cold halfway through.

Save your money and go somewhere else. This place isn’t worth your time.

Walk into this LA Fitness at 5 a.m., and you might think, This isn’t so bad.

The doors are open. The lights are on. The weights are plentiful. There’s even a hot tub.

But stay a little longer, and reality sets in.

The Locker Room Experience (Or Lack Thereof)

There’s a moment, after a workout, when you just want a shower. A little peace. A little privacy.

Not here.

Two women, always present, roam the men’s locker room—pressure washers in hand, blasting away at… something.

If you enjoy undressing in front of industrial cleaning crews, you’ll be fine. If not? Tough luck.

The Shower Lottery…

Six showers exist.

Three work.

But if you want a steady stream of water, here’s your best bet: second shower from the left.

The others? A mix of arctic mist, lukewarm drizzle, and existential despair.

Cleanliness is… Optional

The bathroom? Think gas station rest stop, but with more regret.

The floors? A slick, unsupervised science experiment.

The maintenance? A rumor.

The Weight Room: A Game of Hide and Seek

Want a 25-pound dumbbell? Good luck.

This gym treats weights like free-range cattle, roaming freely with no concern for their assigned racks.

It’s an obstacle course just to piece together a matching set.

Why do I go to this gym?

Because it’s six minutes from my house.

Open at 5 AM, and has a minor clean hot tub

That’s it. That’s the reason.

A better gym? Lifetime. But that’s a drive. And convenience wins.

For now.

Final Verdict

This LA Fitness has the bones of a great gym.

But it’s a neglected, unkempt, broken-down version of what it should be.

If you have another option? Take it.

Went to try the gym using the supposed "free 3 day pass" i read about and was told I couldn't because i needed to fill out some online forum and couldn't get it in person. Fair enough, paid anyway for a day pass, but such a loser bait-and-switch mentality. After buying a day pass from the manager he literally said "ok you're good". Zero effort to show the facilities, explain the basics of what classes there are etc. The whole place feels like everyone and everything is do the bare minimum. There are like 10 gyms within a 15min drive, why would anyone go here?

Only two showers are working, and the steam room is still not working. It's been at least 6 months or more. The sauna only gets to 150, 160 degrees, when it should be 185 to 200 degrees. This was a beautiful club when a 24-hour Fitness owned it. Since LA Fitness took over, they have destroyed it.
Now the sauner, two showers about 5 treadmills are broken and the showers have no hot water this is probably the worst Gym in New Jersey

I’ve been a loyal member at LA Fitness Parsippany for over three years, but the state of this gym lately is absolutely infuriating. Broken equipment is a constant issue, and it’s becoming impossible to get through a workout without having to deal with something being out of service. This has been going on for months now, and the lack of urgency in fixing anything is beyond frustrating.

The sauna has been CLOSED for over two weeks, which is ridiculous. The sauna was one of the main reasons I chose this location, and now I’m having to drive out of my way to use one at another gym. No one at LA Fitness seems to care.

To top it off, the gym is overcrowded as if they’re intentionally overbooking memberships with no regard for the experience of current members. It’s hard enough dealing with broken equipment and a closed sauna, but now I can’t even get a decent workout in because it’s packed all the time.

I’ve reached out to management for answers, and not a single person has bothered to respond to me. It’s clear they don’t care about their members, and at this point, I’m seriously considering canceling my membership. I’ve been more than patient, but this is just unacceptable.

This is by far THE WORST gym in all of Morris County. Today alone there are 10 pieces of cardio equipment down, 6 showers in the men’s room, sauna and steam room both down. In the working showers there are flies and no one has cleaned the men’s bathroom, with urine underneath the urinals creating a puddle. Additionally, in the pool area there are visible massive leaks in the ceiling, with visible black mold. It is BEYOND me how this place has this many high star reviews, and hasn’t been seriously examined by the board of health.

Steam room hasn’t been working for months and now the sauna not working. The workers at the front desk seem to always be to busy on the phones (not personal phones) but if it’s 2 people at the desk both shouldn’t be on the phone some one should be dealing with the customers that’s physically here and when you actually get there attention, they never really have definitive answers. Let’s see how long the sauna will be out of order.

The gym is being poorly maintained. A quarter of the ceiling lights have been out since the middle of October (yes it’s almost February). I have emailed several times about this, but they have just stopped answering me. Their sales reps must be embarrassed to try to sell memberships for a gym that looks like this (pictures all taken today). I Also emailed (again) about the parking lot lights being off at 6:30 am and have received no response to that, either. The ladies locker room has had the ceiling open since October as well. Equipment is constantly broken, dumbbells sit in spin rooms and out of place for weeks at a time before someone puts them back (probably a member).No ones who works there cares. I am giving two stars instead of one because of the spin classes.

Despite some of the iffy reviews I decided to come yesterday to tour the gym after looking at the Y which I wasn’t impressed with. However, I was very impressed with this faculty. Justin was upfront up the steam room not working so I want suprised from the reviews on that one. The women’s locker room was working. I didn’t try the showers this time but will update when I do. From how much equipment and space there was. I liked how their membership is month to month. I have unlimited guest passes and can take as many classes as I want. I utilized the pool and hot tub today and it was wonderful. Even when it was crowded there was still space. I like that I can go to other locations as well. Justin was wonderful by giving me a tour and helping me sign up but also with technical issues as well. The gym itself has many machines for cardio weights and core. As well as a turf and stretch area. I really like the open use of the studio and cycle room when not in use. All in all for a monthly membership that’s all inclusive was so worth it. I have had over 11 surgeries and still recovering from one but now at least I can start swimming to get back into shape. The bathrooms were clean and didn’t smell at all. Just bring your own lock if you want to use one and a towel!

Wow, this gym has really gone downhill over the past year. I was there today, and eight cardio machines were out of order—not to mention several weight machines that need maintenance. On top of that, there’s been a massive leak in the women’s locker room for months, and there are never any towels available & lights that been out for idk how long. Facility, equipments, and classes are excellent. Only issues I experienced are 1: the shows, there are eight showers in this facility, seven of them are not working currently, the working one with cold water. The situation last for several weeks and months without repair. The 2nd is the temperature control in class rooms, the AC were broken in the summer and not fixed for months, and AC blowing in winter, the clerks in front desk had no idea how to fix it.

Two weeks after After I posted the above issues, two more showers got fixed. Another two weeks, all 8 showers worked. I give East Hanover la fitness managers thumbs up. And add one more star to them.

The yoga room is constantly at 65°. We asked the staff to turn the heat on. They pretty much ignore you or say it’s broken. Several of us have emailed corporate and they do not answer. You should not have to take Yoga with a jacket on, ridiculous! In addition, there was no air conditioning for two months this summer. And we pay a membership to go here?.
