Widchard is the man! He's been training folks for a long time and knows his stuff. Been a little over 2 months for my latest health kick and the results come pretty quick if you take your diet seriously too.
You will be pushed hard, but that's what you're paying for! Lots of compound movements & stretches customized to where you are in your fitness journey. Worth it if you're committed!

My son has been training at LivFit Fitness, for about a year now and the transformation has been incredible. I joined LivFit as a new mother with existing conditions. Its been close to three months now and my experience here has surpassed all expectations. Coach Daniel is everything you should look for in a coach. He is great at making training plans tailored to our goals and fitness needs. He additionally also specializes in slow paced weighted workouts which are ideal for women with PCOS. He is always monitoring you to make the necessary adjustments needed to improve and ensure symmetry. I have had multiple instances where he modified the training plan to fit my requirements after doing necessary research and understanding of my condition. He has also been great in helping me address post partum ailments (e.g DR abdominal separation). I would specifically recommend post partum mothers to train with Coach Daniel).
The team of Widchard and Daniel has been super supportive to ensure I am consistently able to show up to the fitness center at any cost. They have a no clock inside the studio policy which seemed like a great way to ensure that the time you spend working out there is completely spent on yourself with zero distractions.

Most of us assume that because 90% of our bodily functions are automatic, physical fitness and nutrition should be simple as walking to Newark Penn--especially those of us with a background in sports. However, the truth is sustained fitness takes intention, knowledge, and support. It should be a lifestyle and fully integrated into how you move through the world each day just as you shower, make your bed, get coffee, and eat lunch.
I’ve been lifting weights since my HS track coach introduced me to the weight room. Lifting heavy has been my go to for years—especially as a woman who understood lifting heavy will not make me bulky and that it is NECESSARY for strong bones as I age (I am 45). When I moved to Newark in 2023, I kept walking past LivFit, curious about this small, private personal training studio. I’ve worked with trainers before, but something about LivFit made me pause and wonder if it might be the place to take things to the next level since I was plateauing and getting discouraged working out on my own. After a gym-related hip injury many years ago, I had been noticing that I could only get so far training because I was scared of re-injury. So—I walked in.
I did a fitness assessment with Wichard, the owner, and was immediately struck by his knowledge of biomechanics and human movement. His professionalism, directness, and thoughtful approach stood out. Before allowing me to jump back into lifting heavy, he insisted we focus on rehab first. I have a medical background, and I can confidently say: Wichard knows his stuff. You can’t fake an understanding of human physiology—you either know it or you don’t. He does.
We’re currently focusing on rehabilitating an old injury that’s been causing sciatic pain down my left leg. It’s been just under a month, training twice a week, and I’ve already seen a 50% reduction in pain. I’m stronger—not just in the “old school Arnold” way I’m used to, but in a new way. More flexible. More connected. More aware.
My mind-muscle connection has improved significantly. I carry Wichard’s training cues into my solo sessions at home. I know how to release tension, engage the correct muscle groups, and train with purpose—without defaulting into old compensation patterns that once caused me pain or left me feeling defeated.
There are two types of people who need and can afford personal trainers, but never hire one:
1. You have the knowledge, the motivation, the drive—but you keep hitting a wall and can’t figure out how to get past it so you slack off for awhile and find yourself in a get hella fit, stop because of discouragement/injury, sit idle, then start all over again.
2. You’re scared. Scared of being held accountable. Scared of actually showing up fully for yourself each day and accomplishing something great. You think you will start, but know you won't. You make excuses and busy yourself with "starting tasks" never to actually start.
If either of those resonate with you, then I leave you with this:

My goal, when I joined LivFit four months ago, was to get stronger (which was no small feat because I struggled to do a proper push-up).
During my first workout with my trainer, we noticed that I had imbalances between my left and right sides (weakness in my left shoulder and hip). They have crafted programming to address those imbalances. And thoughtfully designed a training program tailored to my unique needs and goals.
Over the past four months, my trainer has expertly guided me through challenging yet achievable workouts. They continually adjusts the programming based on my progress and feedback. For example, I told her that I wanted to lift heavy so she adjusted my workouts to include deadlifts, barbell squats, and RDLs.
Beyond the programming, I always feel comfortable asking questions and she takes time to fully explain techniques and correct my form. The wealth of fitness knowledge and unwavering professionalism make them an outstanding personal trainer.
Today, I’m well on my way to #musclemami status. I have become much stronger. I can do many pushups (haha). I have toned up significantly. An added bonus is that I've lost 7 pounds.
So, in conclusion, I highly recommend LivFit for anyone looking to get strong and gain muscles.

LivFit is not your average gym space. If you feel awkward or intimidated working out with several people around you, you don’t need to worry about that here because they’re appointment only. Wichard gives you grace and is very inviting which can make you feel very comfortable. They also offer semi private for you and a friend if you both have similar goals. I’m glad I walked by and signed up, I already feel great after a few sessions.

I can honestly say that LivFit has been the BEST decision I have made about getting fit. When I decided to start my fitness journey I was really intimidated about working out on my own at a gym. For years I have done gym hopping but I was never able to maintain the gym life. I entered LivFit a skeptic but it was diminished immediately due to the friendly and non-judgmental atmosphere.
My trainer Wichard is an amazing person (he is tough and knowledgeable) but with confidence I can say he honestly wants to see me succeed and be the best version of myself. 7 months ago I was about to have back surgery for the 2nd time, I was in constant pain and had been in physical therapy for months trying to push off what I thought was the inevitable . My surgery was originally delayed due to me getting sick, in that time I decided to begin my fitness journey again…. After a short few weeks my back pain began to feel manageable and I kept delaying the surgery. It’s now been at least 4 months and I do not have any back pain at all, I do attribute that to LivFit. I am stronger and healthier, I no longer think of fitness as a goal, but a way of living. I also hurt my ankle maybe 2 months into it, in the past I would stop working out until it got better and then a few weeks turn into a few years. This time it was not the case, Widchard adjusted my workouts to accommodate my injury until it healed. I am no longer on this journey alone, I am grateful to Widchard and his team at LivFit fitness.

I've been skittish about getting back into training as a former athlete. The day I walked into LivFit I felt defeated. They were a new move to focus on building both strength and confidence back up. My first 4 months, I worked exclusively with Hosam, and not only did my strength build, but so did my awareness. It's both what I saw in our workouts, but truly what I saw outside that was cool - losing inches and pounds, but also my posture improving, noticing I was lifting boxes correctly. Hands down the best choice we made training at LivFit. VERY friendly team who makes us actually want to go train. We look forward to walking through the doors and always feel amazing when we leave. I train along with my partner and it's a lot of fun that way. A shout-out to our amazing personal trainer AMIR! Amir keeps us motivated and guides us throughout the session. I’ve been here since May and so far I’ve had such a great experience.

Coming out of quarantine I needed something/someone to motivate me and get me out of a rut. Enter Amir at LivFit. I needed to lose the lbs for sure, but more so wanted to just get "in shape" -- less "show" muscles and more functional strength. I couldn't do it on my own (because I dont have the will power to push through when a workout gets hard). Working with Amir, you can tell he tailors his workouts and approach to each individual clients' needs and is able to quickly adapt workouts to get the most out of your session. It hasn't been easy but the gym is brand new and the guys are definitely there to help you reach your fitness goals. Happy I found them.

My complimentary session with Widchard was amazing! The facility is extremely clean and spacious. I felt safe training without having to worry about whether the equipment had been sanitized. Widchard took the time to show me how to properly do my sets and made me feel good about working out! And the icing on the cake was definitely the Thera Gun Massage at the end of my session! Wow, that thing made me feel like I just spent hours at the spa! It was definitely a nice touch to end the session. I look forward to training with them and making this studio my second home. As someone who has not worked out in a year, I thought it would be hard for me to kickstart a workout routine to lose my Covid weight gain.
