The name of this business truly matches the ethos. LVL UP indeed. I first met with Shy to see if the studio would be the right fit for me, just weeks after a double mastectomy and at the start of my reconstructive journey. Shy’s energy and knowledge were a breath of fresh air. She listened and reassured me that now was exactly the time to begin moving again, and promised to pair me with a trainer who would modify every step of the way.

She delivered on that promise with Sam/Samuel who became that trainer. He pushed me gently but intentionally out of my comfort zone, talking me through the what, why, and how of each movement and gradually nudging me toward new goals. I never left a session in pain, but I always felt that satisfying, earned ache that tells you your body is working, getting stronger and recovering all at once. Sam’s coaching also went beyond workouts. He checked in on lifestyle habits without pushing products or personal agendas. They genuinely want you to become your best self, and they are honest and direct about how to get there without being “car salesman like.”

The team is a colorful and dynamic group, and they take care to match you with the person who will truly help you level up. Months later, I am cancer free, in much better shape, moving with more confidence, and excited to continue this healthy lifestyle journey!

Two small pieces of feedback. Extending the studio hours on a few evenings would make a big difference for people juggling work and domestic responsibilities. In other words, stay open later please! I would also love to see a bit more intention with the music choices. Some sessions had the perfect vibe, while others felt slightly out of sync with my workout mood. These are personal preferences, but again, I can’t rave enough about the overall experience. Thank you LVL UP, and especially Sam, the man with the slow and steady master plan.

I have been with level up for a little over a year and I have been training with Sam who is a great trainer. He’s funny, patient and has a passion for fitness. He has helped me understand nutrition better and has been very patient with me as I tried to understand why certain foods are good and bad and reading labels. I have gained more confidence with using weights and machines and my strength has increased (meaning I can lift and push more weights than I ever could!). It’s good to be around like minded people also trying to achieve their own health goals which is very motivating. I met my gym besties here too. Shoutout to Shy for all her great workout clothes and her positive vibes. Good music to workout to as well. Love to support black owned businesses!

Adham has been an absolute staple in my fitness journey. I’ve trained with him consistently, and the progress I’ve made under his guidance is something I never managed to achieve on my own. He’s patient but firm, knowledgeable without being intimidating, and he always explains the “why” behind what we’re doing so it actually makes sense.

What I really appreciate is that he doesn’t let me give up on myself. On the days I complain, threaten to quit mid-workout, or come in tired and unmotivated, he somehow finds the perfect balance between a pep talk and a reality check. He pushes me past my comfort zone in a safe, structured way and still pays close attention to form, safety, and my overall well-being.

I've been at Level Up Fitness for about a month now. I found my trainer, Patricia, through TikTok and jumped at the chance to continue my fitness journey. It's been about a month now and I have already started to see amazing results within my body both physical and strength wise. Patricia is very accommodating as I have a knee issue so she tries to adjust the workouts so I'm not in pain which I appreciate. All of the coaches stress nutrition and it feels great when I know my money is well spent because I'm doing the work outside of the gym. I have had amazing experience with not only my trainer but with Plem and Shy who always motivate us no matter if we're working with them or another coach. Working out is hard but when I'm done for the day, I always leave feeling even more excited for my next session with Patricia. I have also met some amazing people and just walking in the gym makes you feel motivated. Definitely recommend coming here if you're ready to take your health and fitness journey to the next level.

I've been training with Coach Plem at LVL UP since May and it has been an absolute game changer for me! Joining LVL UP Fitness Studio has been the best decision of my life. When I first walked into the gym, I expected to be totally intimidated. Everyone looked like they belonged there and I felt so out of my element. But you have to be willing to take a risk, and this was the best risk I ever took. The truth is, it’s the most warm, inviting, and supportive environment I could have imagined. Far from intimidating. I’ve watched people come in nervous and unsure, just like me, and then literally become inspo in a matter of weeks!

Now, don’t get me wrong — the first few months kicked my ass. I was sore. I wanted to quit. People told me I was too old, that it was too hard, that i was too old to start lifting weights. But something in me knew this was the right thing. I stuck with it, and my body adapted. My knees have never been better, I’m stronger than ever, and at 52, I honestly look better than I have in the last 20 years. I know that sounds cliché, but it’s true!

What I’ve learned is that LVL UP isn’t a transactional relationship where you pay a fee, show up for an hour, and go home. It’s a commitment. Plem, my trainer, is unquestionably tough, for no other reason than that he sees the limits you can’t see (aka potential) and it comes from a place of deep knowledge and even deeper caring. He puts so much into our training — making sure our form is right, pushing us through the reps, and holding us accountable for what we do outside the gym too. Over time things change and you realize he is right …it’s about the energy, the attitude, the focus, the discipline all the time not just in the gym. And he and Shy live it and show it. And it works, because the results are inevitable for virtually every client who sticks with it for 30, 60, 90 days and beyond. It’s an elite training space, but it’s also a family . LVL UP has changed how I look at food, how I look at myself, and how I approach life. I have more confidence, more peace, and more strength than I ever imagined.

I discovered LVL UP Fitness through Instagram and loved their partnership with Baker Health. When I finally joined, I was excited to work with my coach, Patricia, and initially appreciated the accountability and creative workouts she provided.

However, my first visit included an uncomfortable interaction with Pelm, who dismissed my 10 years of fitness teaching experience and told me I’d fail unless I joined the 6:00 AM community—something that left a poor first impression.

While Patricia was attentive at first, by week three her focus often shifted to socializing during my sessions. My final workout was especially concerning—her attention was divided, and I believe this led to me performing an exercise incorrectly or with too much weight. I left with a pulled lower back muscle, which kept me in bed for three days and still causes pain today.

I didn’t feel the injury was taken seriously, and after that, I chose not to return. LVL UP Fitness might work for some, but my experience left me disappointed and injured.

Good body transformations from BodybyShy, she is good at what she does. But unfortunately there is A-LOT of unprofessionalism going on in this place of business. The male owner doesn’t respect women at all and try’s to degrade clients publicly. There isn’t any proper policies on payment and what is and isn’t allowed with sessions, so be prepared to deal with confusion with that. This gym is not a comfortable place to workout and they have poor client retention because of their unprofessionalism. Gym is very tiny and I wouldn’t recommend. There are other great gyms and trainers in the area for better price’s.

I made the best decision to invest in “LEVELING UP” my fitness journey by signing up here and I had my first session with Shy back in June 2022. I was welcomed with open arms and made good connections with other clients who became my fit fam.

I’ve been athletic and physically active my whole life to begin with, but training with Shy is LITERALLY on another level.
Every workout she threw at me had me singing “I WANNA GOOOOO HOME”🥴🥵😭
But I started seeing great results physically so I decided to keep going. Besides losing 15lbs in less than 3 months, i also gained lean muscle mass and overall body strength in the past 2 years i’ve been training here.

Shy and LVL UP Fitness have changed my life! When I say “performance no excuses” I mean it!
I come all the way from New York City 3 days a week for training with ZERO regrets. I know they say Manhattan is the greatest city of all time but unfortunately they’re missing 1 thing, LVL UP Fitness.

This gym is not your typical training gym, it’s a community that produces nothing but greatness. All of the trainers are incredible, but mine specifically @BodybyShy has pushed me beyond my limits. Within 30 days I was introduced to a body I have never seen before (and on top of that I’m a mom). This gym not only changed my life, but it saved my life. My coach has challenged me on how great I truly want to be. Her approach will change you and what I love the most is if you cheat your set, you’re not cheating her you’re cheating yourself. No doubt in saying about the hardships of coaching include motivation and constant support for amateurs. As people have to join fitness crews to encounter their physical and mental wellness. For fitting myself in both physical and emotional stature I joined Level Up Fitness Studio one year ago. The studio provides enough services to foster its clients with 1:1 personal sessions or small group sessions and a whole community of trainees and trainers. Equipped with contemporary machine supplies, all the coaches are qualified and willing to benefit every single trainee who comes into the studio. Every coach is well-trained to gear up the energy of his trainer not only physically but mentally encouraging him or her to earn the purpose of fitting inside and out. I lost 40 plus lbs while joining the studio. That is the heftiest journey for a person who has already lost her mental strength as well as her physical health. Plemmie is a great trainer. He focuses on what happens outside of the gym just as much as inside of the gym - tracking calories (Fitbit or Apple Watch), diet, sleep and creating good habits. When you are in the gym, it’s an hour of WORK.
