At first i was definitely apprehensive but as a 43 year old man halfway through my first challenge i haven't felt better in a long time!

Exercises are adjustable for different levels of fitness ... instructors and participants extremely friendly!

MAX Fitness & Wellness Center of Old Bridge has helped me get out of my funk! They never made me feel guilty for missing classes - b/c I had to CHG jobs, buy a new car, wait for my paycheck! (Life changes happened to me all at once! Lol!)
They worked with me on an individual basis. Their classes are spread out at convenient times throughout each day! They give you options to go to classes in am or pm any day - and you can book them or reschedule as needed on the mobile app. When you're in the class they don't make you feel awkward and guide you on anything you need help with. The music is always good! The energy is perfect! Never too crowded. Their equipment is organized and clean! You can modify your exercises according to your fitness level, but the coach/instructor will push you if they believe you can do a little more...they just know! There are MAX gyms in many locations - but this one I know is privately owned. Everyone knows the owners. The owners provide just enough support to each individual - to get you to come to class! I have had at least 2 life changes since I've joined and have not been as consistent as I would like to be. But all you have to do is just show up and that's half the battle. This gym is close to where I live now. But I've been told you can take classes in other locations if you are traveling - so you never feel tied down or limited. If you're considering this gym, you should just go for it! You won't regret it!

The MAX Challenge of Old Bridge is a great place to work out and also meet some amazing people. Everyone is so supportive and enthusiastic and they make you feel so good about yourself. I love this place! As someone who always felt self-conscious at conventional gyms, I have found my new fitness home. Everyone is super friendly and nice. The trainers are awesome! It is like a little community. The members are soooo helpful. When I was a newbie, many of them took time out of their own workout to show me different modifications to do as a beginner, and they gave me great advice to be successful. I absolutely love it here. It is no longer a burden to workout. I look forward to going now, which is crazy to me because I’ve never really been in to fitness or enjoyed working out. You must give it a try especially if you have gym fears like me. It will go away as soon as you start your first workout at the Max Challenge and realize this place is for everyone, no matter your ability, age, gender, etc. I love it here. Worth every penny! And of course the overall program is great. You will lose weight and see the change in your body very quickly.

I just started my journey with The Max in Old Bridge about 4 weeks ago after a friend recommended it to me. Due mostly to medication and poor diet, I’ve gained weight in recent years, & hated how I look in the mirror. I really thought that after my first week I’d be either forcing myself to keep going, or not want to go at all, since I’ve signed up for gyms before and didn’t commit. But I actually really love going every day. I’ve been having some serious curveballs thrown at me by that thing we call life, especially when I first started the program. But I always make sure to still show up, no matter how down I’m feeling. ((Punching bag fridays are especially my favorite since I can take out all of my frustration even more on the bags🤣😂)) I always feel so much better once I just walk in to go to class. Granted, classes are only 45 minutes a day. But it’s a very intense workout and time goes by fast. But these aren’t “just classes,” and this isn’t “just a gym.” Every single person in there is the definition of supportive. There’s always someone there, whether it’s the trainers or the people working out with you, to help you if you’re having trouble figuring out how to correctly do something, as well as encourage you to keep pushing yourself, to keep going, and tell you what an awesome job you’re doing. In one word, The Max of Old Bridge is family, & I’m so happy to be a part of it!

I have only been at the Max for a month and I cannot believe how long I have waited to find a place that is as motivating and great as the Max of Old Bridge. One of the best work out/gym experiences I have ever had. Super supportive instructors and peers that always push you to do the best you can. A comprehensive and thorough nutrition plan that will get your diet on track. Every class makes me sweat like crazy and leaves me with a sense of accomplishment. If you want to accomplish things you never imagined you could, and feel truly supported, encouraged and valued, come to the MAX of Old Bridge!
My age, my body and my mind created a lifetime of excuses not to workout in a group setting and now after being a member for 2 years, those same things are what keep me here. I am physically and mentally stronger than 20+ years ago and I get to continue alongside THE nicest people you’d ever want to meet - amazing and caring instructors, staff and owners included! Was I scared day one walking through the door? You bet! But I’ve never regretted it and SO thankful I did.

UPDATE 1/7/24 I’m now approaching my 5 Maxiversary. 4th at this location. I’m also approaching turning 64.
6 months ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer and just finished chemo. I have no doubt that the physical and mental strength I continue to have to thrive through treatment is due in large part to what I’ve accomplished at the Max of Old Bridge. I entered treatment with a strong heart, balance, core strength and the mental capacity to know I can do whatever I need to do.

The Max is my sanctuary!! It's my place to destress. It gives me a problem free zone. I don't have to guess about any type of workout or if I don't have a proper form. The coaches are always available to assist on whatever you need whether you need nutritional information or adjust your workout. The Max Challenge is an amazing program. I came in the program, 6 years ago, thinking I would just lose weight. I gained so much more than that. The instructors and members are like family. I have pushed myself both physically and mentally. The max is the best!

I've been a member at the Max for 7 years, it's more than a gym, the max is family. When I first walked thru the doors I was hesitant saying to myself "I cannot do the exercisse here", afraid I will embarass myself with some the exercises. However I overcame all of that despite having back issues and foot issues stepped out of my comfort zone. The instructors Alex, Richard, Joanne, Wendy and Mary are awesome they push and encourage you to go beyond your fears. I’ve been a member of the Max for several years now. I just turned 65 and I’m in the best health I’ve been since my 30s. The trainers are amazing, they show modifications to all of the exercises so that I was able to start off slow and build up. When I started I literally could not do a push-up, now I can do 20. The people are also great, the support and motivation you receive from the rest of the class is great. It took me a long time but I finally found a gym that works.

Most people join gyms to get fit and the ultimate goal is either weight loss or muscle gain. At least that was what I was searching for. But when I joined this gym I got so much more than a workout. I got friends an amazing coach and follow through. I want to want to go to the gym at 5 am. I have all around care. Genuine nutrition guides and recipes. I have been a member at the MAX of Old Bridge for two and half years. I can’t not stress enough how this was the best decision I ever made! I won my challenge at a tricky tray and it was at a point in my life where I knew I had to make a change. I was put on Metformin for diabetes. Changing my eating habits and working out consistently I was able to stop taking the meds and have lost 28 lbs total. It took a year of dedication but after some time it become a way of life! The support from the staff and members isn’t something you find in most gyms. I highly recommend giving the MAX a chance. You will not be disappointed!

I've been a virtual member of The Max for over a year now and I can't even begin to describe what a life changing decision this was! I live over an hour away so I can't make it for the in center classes but having the options to do live classes via Zoom at various times, plus being sent the recordings every day means that I can do my work out when I have the time. Having the support of the members through social media is amazing. Even with not meeting some people in real life we all support one another on a daily basis. I have finally found something that I can do consistently every day that WORKS. The Max has been a blessing and I know I'll be a permanent member!

I joined the MAX of Old Bridge four years ago, after winning a 10 week Challenge at a fundraiser I attended. I went to my first class, and within the first 15 minutes, the instructor was calling me by my first name, saying, "Great job, Kathy!" , and other words of encouragement. I figured it's my first day, she's trying to make me feel welcomed., however, she did that with everyone! Yes, it was definitely an incredible feeling. I can tell you that I still get that feeling of acceptance, accomplishment and encouragement on a regular basis, four years later! It is such a great feeling to be a part of this community.
