I absolutely love this dance school! Ms. Debbie is not only a talented dance instructor but also an exceptional business owner who truly cares about her students. As a former competitive dancer, I can confidently say this studio stands out. It’s clear why so many students stay with the company well beyond high school—and even college.
Many of the dancers have been part of the studio since they were toddlers and often go on to become teachers themselves. That kind of longevity, mentorship, and community is something people often overlook when choosing a dance school.
Thanks to this incredible environment, my daughter has developed sweet friendships, advanced her technique, and is truly flourishing. We’re so grateful to be part of this dance family!

They force their customers to break the law by illegally double parking for hours!!! It was raining alot 1 night and while crossing the I was hit by a car trying to pass these inconsiderate idiots!!!
Now I have a lawsuit against them, the town of Maywood and the Maywood police station since I obtained a life long injury cause these idiots can't park down the street, oh yea, no one who went their have ever gotten famous like why send a kid there for her dreams to be shatteres!! Can't wait till I win this lawsuit!!!!

My name is Jacqueline and I have experienced and enjoyed the Maywood Dance Center for over a decade. Ms. Debbie's kind and caring program helped develop my granddaughter from a toddler into a confident and talented young woman.
After retiring seven years ago, I enrolled in the adult tap dancing class and this year joined the aerobics class. I'm grateful to Ms. Debbie for developing programs which reflect her experience, patience and love of dance. All of us senior students appreciate the opportunity to exercise, socialize and learn in a comfortable setting. I am proud to be part of the Maywood Dance Center family.

The Dance Center has been a home for the last fifteen years for my youngest daughter, I can’t say enough good things about this studio Courtney has made life long friendships with her dance friends, Debbie, the owner, takes pride in her studio and loves what she does. She greets everyone by name and cares for not only the students but their families as well. She truly loves her job and her dance family. It makes me sad that after over twenty years I no longer have a dancer at the studio! I will truly miss the excitement and joy of dancing that Debbie and her staff have instilled in all three of my girls. I was extremely heartbroken when I couldn’t attend Courtney’s last dance rectal due to COVID this year! Thank you Debbie for all of the fond memories that I have of my girls and dancing!

For those of you who do not understand the definition of a good dance school it is based on the foundations of the technique and the integrity of the art of dance. This studio has strong foundations on growth of child developement in movement of gross motor skills as well as the development of a strong poised dancer without injuries. Several people have complained about the owner but i disagree. She follows the protocols of each of the dance techniques and says no where there is a possibility of the student suffering I jury or loss of a standard. Do not confuse this studio with the ones who just say yes to everything. This studio cares more for development of the child/dancer and not the money or the trophy. Very professional, diverse staff and a place for all ages, young and vintage. During my visit there taking classes I give this studio an A+.

Been taking my daughter for roughly eight years. Really appreciate the staff and teachers. Students work hard all year on a dance recital which is no different than other dance schools. Stop by and judge for yourself. Dance Center is always filled with students for a reason.

My daughter loves to come here for the Saturday classes in the morning. Unfortunate that they don't have Summer Saturday / Sunday classes , or classes after 6pm for kids. I work full-time so the only time that I have is after 6pm to do fun activities with her.

This is a reply about the bad 1 star review. The owner may have been rude/aggressive with telling people about not using the phones/cameras; but, I know from experience that this is a big problem at performances like these everywhere. It is extremely frustrating to the instructors, performers, & professional photographers. It's not right that she handled it that way, but she was probably very stressed out & flipped when people didn't stick by the rules. Unfortunately, this couple probably arrived too late to hear the rules. I was almost kicked out of a show for the same thing (not at this location) because I was unaware of it at the time. I learned my lesson :)

0 star rating for Maywood Dance Center.
The owner Debbie is the most unprofessional, barbaric human being I've ever witnessed in my life! This woman does not care at all about these children that attend this program. This woman is all about herself, and only worried about making money off of these kids. Her heart is NOT invested into these girls at all, which is terribly heartbreaking.
This past Sunday, June 18th, we attended a show. It was our first. We arrived late, however we found our seats and watched the show, patiently awaiting for our princess to perform! My fiancé and I had our phones out, as did EVERYONE else in that audience. Debbie took it upon herself to nudge my fiancé on the shoulder and literally yelled at him this, "NO VIDEOS! NO VIDEOS! LEARN TO FOLLOW THE RULES!". This woman literally did this as a performance was ending, and had almost the entire audience turn their heads to see who it was that was yelling. We were so humiliated at that point, that we just decided to get up and walk out. As Debbie walked away, she even continued on ranting! With no care in the world that she just took all the attention away from these kids and placed it on her uncivilized self. I then decided to approach her outside of the theater and said, "I really think there was a different way to go about that. There were plenty of other people actually recording. That was unnecessary." Her response to me as she flew her arms up in the air, raising her voice once more, "I don't care! I told everyone else too. I'm the owner. LEAVE!". Well I'm pretty sure if she actually did tell anyone else, it definitely wasn't in the manner it was told to me. Oh and get this... there were kids from her "dance center" watching this too, including my niece! I was so outraged, I couldn't believe that this woman would treat people this way, I'm curious if maybe it was because we were Hispanic? Not sure, but definitely a possibility. She was super abusive in the way she spoke to us, AND! we didn't even get to watch my niece perform! Mind you, my Mother is the one who paid for her to be apart of this program. We deserve a full refund for this! Ms. Debbie, if you feel so powerful about being the OWNER of your dance center (since you yelled this in my face as if I had to sit down and listen to you) you should also take into consideration that you are a representation of YOUR company, and at that, you failed greatly! And as a business owner, all you have IS your reputation. Tsk tsk.
As for the parents, think twice about who and where you leave your children with. This is not something they should be seeing from someone who's supposed to be an educator, coach, instructor, and/or a mentor. Aside from feeling angry, I'm extremely disappointed that a 7 year old witnessed this, and missed out on me being there to watch her dance.
