We keep you disciplined, motivated and accountable for your fitness goals.

The studio offers the full range of training options, including strength and core training; cardio and conditioning; and mobility, balance, and flexibility in a friendly and encouraging environment. We work with people of all ages; medical issues, and physical limitations because every body is 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲.℠

This is the best gym experience I have EVER had!! Meant to move is a home away from home filled with incredible people. The semi-private sessions are very personalized and the gym is clean and fully stocked. Kristina is the best trainer you could as for- she challenges you but knows how to pass the time and have a laugh. Olga is the sweetest and JP is such an inspiration to everyone around him that it’s physically impossible to leave after a session without a smile on your face. I love meant to move!!!

Finishing my first 8 pack of 1 on 1 personal training sessions at Meant to Move. Great location with plenty of parking. Large, airy studio with plenty of room and great variety of equipment. My trainer is Kristina and she has been great. Nice variety of exercises in a supportive environment. Very friendly group from staff to fellow clients! My husband and I started going for training sessions at Meant to Move in May of 2024. He had had shoulder surgery the previous Fall and wanted to work on rebuilding strength. I had been interested in getting back into working out, so this turned out to be a great option for us.

Joining a traditional gym has never been successful for me because I don’t know what I’m doing and there’s no accountability (something I need). I’m also a very self-conscious person, so the private/semi-private setting is ideal for me.

The trainers here have been INCREDIBLE. Every workout is a (good) challenge. No two sessions are the same, it’s always different. Even on the days that I might not be so motivated to be there, I leave happy and energized.

I’m so thankful for the care and attention that the trainers provide during each session. I look forward to continuing to work with Meant to Move.

I have been going to meant to move for about 1 year now and I have nothing but great things to say about everyone there. Before I started I met with Jon Paul for a consult, immediately I felt comfortable and excited to start my fitness journey. He paired me with a trainer he thought I would work well with and he was exactly right. I started with crystal who took the time to teach me the right form to safely and effectively lift weights. I never felt embarrassed or rushed, everyone was encouraging and so nice. I moved from private classes to group classes after a while and worked with more trainers like Jon Paul and Olga. Every trainer is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to understand your goals. They make sure every class is different so it is always new things and movements to try which keeps things exciting. My husband suffered a stroke 3 years ago in December. He is basically paralyzed on the right side. We did about a year and 1/2 in rehab. We started with Jon Paul in May 2024. I can not tell you how happy I am with him. Since we started with him I notice alot more movement in the limbs and he is getting stronger. I can not be more happier sending my husband there. I would highly recommend Jon Paul to anyone with mobility problems. He is very knowledgeable on the muscles. I can't thank him enough. I see improvement weekly. Thank you Jon Paul!!!

Today is my one-year “gym”-iversary; time to let folks know how great an experience it’s been at Meant to Move℠ Personal Training and with Jon Paul, in particular.

I take an annual last-week-of-August “staycation” wherein I spend time focusing on my business and personal goals for the fourth quarter and heading into the new year. I have a successful business that requires me to spend as much as 10-12 hours at a desk 4 days a week in the office, and in August 2023 I made up mind to do whatever it took — including, if necessary, rearranging my business/client schedule – to incorporate a regular fitness regimen into my life. I’m slim (I’m in the weight loss business), have a great diet, have no medical issues, but as I get older, all that is not enough. Movement, flexibility, balance, and building/sustaining healthy muscle mass and strong bones had to become an important component to my life — as it should for everyone, regardless of age, but certainly to those of us in the “seasoned” population. And I wanted it to be personally supervised in a facility that specializes in personal training. I did not want to go to a “big box” gym. I met with Jon Paul, and my mind was made up there and then to become a client.

Personally, Jon Paul is a very friendly, warm, caring and giving man. Whether working with young people, older people, physically or mentally challenged people, his demeanor is always the same: always a smile, always patience, and always vigilantly watching someone’s form to make sure whether with equipment, free weights, or body weight, they are doing things correctly. I have referred several of my clients (from Wall Twp, Asbury, Fair Haven, Jackson, Lakewood, Brick) and all of them thanked me for referring them.

Professionally, he has created a wonderful, inviting environment in which to work out. For those who are old enough to understand the reference: It’s a Cheers-like atmosphere but in a gym! His clients get to know each other’s names, chat with each other in passing, and inquire after each other when we don’t see them around.

At 69 years young, and working out with Jon Paul three times a week, I feel fabulous (and I look fabulous too, if I do say so myself 🤭). And while my parents must take full credit for my genes, I give lots of credit to Jon Paul for listening to what I wanted to achieve, both short- and long-term, charting my personalized course, and adjusting as needed for my continued benefit as we go along. His tailored program for me, and his guidance and supervision over the last year has in very large measure contributed to my wonderful, happy and healthy life.

All of the trainers are super knowledgeable and work with you to help you reach your individual goals which in turn creates real results. i look forward to going every week and it is often the best part of my day/morning during the week. They are all super flexible and work with you on all fronts and are accommodating to schedules, injuries, even aches and pains that week that can sometimes come up which is something i appreciate. Started working with Crystal at Meant to Move around 2 and a half months ago for 2 on 1 personal training with my wife. It has been an amazing experience and I have gotten so much stronger and more confident in such a short time. I had no idea what I was doing most of the time when we started, but she was patient, explained the workouts, and encouraged me to push myself further with each session. She also perfectly managed the ability to create a challenging workout for both myself and my wife - diligently keeping track of our weights and reps from prior weeks so we didn't even have to think about it and gradually introducing more intensive exercises.

I would 100% recommend this Meant to Move to anyone who asks. We didn't work with JP, the owner, but he was usually there and was always friendly as well making it an awesome place to be.

I can't express enough gratitude for the incredible journey I've had (and continue to have) with John Paul. JP is way more than a “trainer,” to me, he has been an encyclopedia of fitness and well-being knowledge. I came to meet JP after undergoing three levels total cervical disk replacement surgery (c4-c7) in June of 2023. While my operation was a success, my body had paid a hard price for years of neglect and inactivity as a result of my condition (spinal stenosis and degenerative disk disease). After I finished my physical therapy, I struggled with intermittent pain and felt like I would never fully regain having a functional body. However, JP’s expertise and personalized approach not only resolved my lingering pain, but also helped me regain strength, mobility, and a functional body that is exponentially way beyond what I thought possible. I started with JP at 223lbs, with almost 29% body fat. Here I am today at 45 years old a lean 173lbs, with 18% body fat. I am fit, healthy, and a better father and husband as a result. I am 100% enjoying life!

JP’s focus on functional body movements, strength and wellness not only transformed my physical health but also deepened my understanding of fitness and overall well-being. Every session begins with a wellness check-in and has been tailored to my specific needs and goals, ensuring that I not only felt supported but also challenged in the best way possible.

After prepaying over $1000 at another gym for personal training and never going because I didn’t like it I said I would never try personal training again. That was until I found Jon Paul and Meant to Move. I was doubtful I would follow through or continue beyond a few sessions but now almost 3 months later I’m still going! Believe me this is a first for me. Jon Paul is a kind and knowledgeable trainer who pushes just enough for you to succeed but he listens to any issues you might have and works around them during the workout. JP is the best!!! I bought his Groupon and I was hesitant because I had never been to a personal trainer, but That was MONTHS ago and now I’m a WEEKLY client!!! I feel stronger, more confident, and I find that our session are usually the highlight of my week!!!! He is extremely knowledgeable about fitness, and modifies movements based on your bodies specific needs/abilities. He listened to what my goals were and implemented a plan based on my individual strengths and weaknesses. Working with JP is something i truly look forward too, he is an amazing trainer and in 3 weeks my body had definitely changed 100%. He knows how to hype u up, keep you moving. 5 stars! JP is wonderful and I am so glad that I listened to his previous reviewers and made the decision to start training with him. His sessions are absolutely personalized to the client, and his knowledge of anatomy/ proper positioning is superb. After finishing Nurse Anesthesia school, I was looking for a streamlined way to be healthy and fit – I so appreciate JP’s workouts and his sense of health as a holistic approach. And for anyone with previous injuries he is your man. He has amazing knowledge/ insight on how to work around any physical aches, pains, etc. I was often held back from working-out the way I wanted because of a previous neck injury, but I no longer am due to JP’s professional help/program. I wish I had gone to him sooner because I can actually say that I am as pain free as I have been in years after having a c-spine injury. JP knows his stuff and will keep you safe as he helps you achieve your fitness goals.

I highly recommend Meant to Move if you are looking for private one on one training! I have been training with JP – the owner of Meant to Move, for about 3 months now- 3 days a week. I decided to get a personal trainer so that I could train and feel my best for my wedding later this year. JP makes sure his clients feel comfortable and he is always extremely professional and respectful. During each workout- JP pushes me to do my best while providing encouragement and always making form and technique a top priority. The workouts are different each time which helps keep things fun and challenging! Delightful snow day experience

The magic and excitement of a superhero workout made a snow day even more exciting. This was an amazing experience from communicating with JP to executing the virtual experience. This is such a delight for kids and even adults. The magic of childhood years are brought back with this fun and creative idea to do with the kiddos. I am truly at a loss for words, this company has exceeded every possible expectation I had. We have used them a few times but this last experience was the superhero workout for my nieces, they are snowed in and we’re getting restless, a quick call and all of a sudden we have a zoom call from their favorite superhero making them get up and get moving, they lived every second of it and are already asking for more. The owner is incredibly professional and super quick to handle whatever situation you can throw at him. I can’t recommend them enough. Best around for all your party and exercise needs. A++

Working out with JP isn’t work, its pure fun, the kind of fun and laughing your face hurts after a hour.
