Nassau Tennis Club has truly become my second home—I’ve been playing here for almost 7 years! From joining the Nassau-based USTA teams to making it all the way to Nationals, it’s been such a fun and meaningful journey. Along the way, I’ve met some amazing tennis friends who make every match (and post-match snack) better.

The coaching is top-notch—special shoutout to Tony, whose dry wit and double strategy always keep me on my toes, and to Benton, who somehow runs the place with both calm and heart.

There’s a real community here, and a kindness that makes you feel like you belong—even when your one hand backhand doesn’t behave. So grateful to be part of it!

Very excellent academy with great focus on improvement, constant guidance to athletes and Parents, numerous conference to help athletes in making better decision making process and transparent environment for Parents to seek advice.

My daughter (High Performance Feeder group) had been trained by Coach Jay (Joao Pinho) and helped her in building strategy in her game and identify her strength to use during point play. I would recommend academy to others.

Nassau was my second home as they helped me go from a beginner tennis player all the way to playing college tennis. I went from the kids clinics to summer camps to high performance classes and every class was engaging and effective in its own way with games, skill specific drills, tournament-playing, rewards, fitness, and personable coaches. They are also thoughtfully geared towards different age groups and skill levels which gave me space to improve and practice without feeling either bored or intimidated. Really enjoyed my time and learned a lot here, 100% recommend.

Nassau Tennis is a wonderful tennis facility with a friendly staff comprised of professionals that will cater to students of all ages and skill levels. I am new to tennis, and William has been extremely patient and direct when teaching me the fundamentals of the sport. He creates a positive and fun learning environment in all of his classes, including private lessons and group clinics— I couldn’t recommend him more. I always look forward to coming back to Nassau Tennis Club because I am guaranteed to be greeted by the warmth of its community.

I have been a member of the Nassau Tennis Club for three years. During this time, I have taken private lessons and participated in small group drills led by a number of the tennis pros. Those I have worked with most, Tony Pizzulli, Seth Miller, Bennett Kelley, Blake Illes, Jay Thomas, and Mark Feydin, are knowledgeable and skilled as well as highly motivating teachers. The facilities at Nassau are unmatched in the area with both indoor hard courts and outdoor Har-Tru clay courts. All are well-maintained. The atmosphere of the club is genuinely friendly and collegial. After a twenty-five year break from tennis, my experience at Nassau has renewed my love of the sport and improved my health and physical fitness to an astonishing degree.

Nassau Tennis is fantastic! I highly recommend it. I have participated in adult clinics with Bennett, Tony, and Jay, and I have learned so much. The drills are fast-paced, focused, and well-organized. I've attended tennis drills at other places, but I have gotten the most out of Nassau instruction. What makes Nassau stand out is the individual instruction, the emphasis on movement, and the way everyone stays engaged and active, all while maintaining a positive energy.

My 12-year-old just started the junior program this year, and she loves it. She has improved significantly in just a couple of months, but most importantly, she enjoys going and has fun. We are fortunate to have Nassau in our area!

I've been playing at Nassau Tennis Club for 21 years. I can't say enough good about the club! It feels like a community to me! The people who work at the desk or in the office are warm, friendly, and helpful, and the pros are great! Two other friends and I have taken drills with pro Seth Miller for 21 years. Another joined our drill a few years later and is still in the drill. We were near-beginners when he started to coach us. Seth has been fantastic!!! He's an excellent instructor and makes the drills a lot of fun. He's very supportive of us and has encouraged our growth as players. Our skill sets have grown dramatically over the years. Many others have joined our drill over the years, a number of whom played in the drill for many years. We've made a lot of friends there.

In the course of our drills with Seth, we've had ample opportunities mix it up with other courts, so we've gotten to know other drill instructors too. Among them are Andrew, Philip, Chauncey, and others. They've all been wonderful!

There are outdoor and indoor courts. The indoor court's are well-lit and nicely kept.

If you want a welcoming and also excellent tennis experience, I'd strongly recommend Nassau Tennis Club! They're my tennis home!

Nassau club has the best location and facilities. My kids have been joining the club since 2016. They love it very much. Coach Joao and the Pro team perform an excellent job in the past Fall session. We have a very strong high performance program with a lot of talented players as well as dedicated coaches. Coach Joao goes above and beyond by organizing the performance calls, individual meetings to evaluate the player’s performance periodically, year end award party, etc. These created a cohesive community. Looking forward to a great year.

Both my kids (14 Yrs, 8 Yrs) train at Nassau, and I couldn’t be more pleased with their progress and the overall experience!
My daughter is in the High Percentage (HP) Program, and I am very happy and excited with the positive changes that I am seeing in the HP program since the time Jay P. joined as the new HP Director. There’s a clear shift toward emphasizing consistency, and her confidence continues to grow with each session. The coaching staff is exceptional, bringing a wealth of playing and coaching experience at the highest level. With the new methodology, there is now a stronger focus on physical drills, which is translating into improved performance during match plays. Additionally, the coaches incorporate video analysis to offer constructive feedback, helping my daughter refine the technical aspects of her game.
My son is in the Junior Transition program, and like my daughter, I am very pleased with his progress. He began as a Pee Wee about a year ago, and within just a year, he has advanced to the Transition program. The coaching staff, led by Seth M. (Junior Program Director), is exceptional. They are not only skilled but also incredibly patient and encouraging with the children, creating a positive learning environment. The Junior program has been great for my son to build his tennis skills from the ground up. I'm really excited to see his continued growth, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the foundation the program has provided.

I absolutely love Nassau Tennis Club! This isn’t just a club—it’s a true community with an unmatched vibe and incredible tennis programs. From the moment you walk in, you’re part of something special.

Nassau Tennis Club stands out because it offers something for everyone. Whether you’re just starting or have been playing for years, this club has it all. The adult drills are always dynamic, fun, and fresh, while the kids’ training programs cater to every skill level, creating a space where players of all ages can thrive.

The coaches are exceptional—not just talented, but genuinely invested in your growth on and off the court. Seth brings unmatched energy and ensures everyone has fun with a caring that impacts the entire club bar none; Andrew’s smooth and calming approach makes learning a breeze; Phillip’s kindness and brilliance as a coach shine through every lesson; Mark offers exacting mentorship to help refine your game; Tim is endlessly cheerful and uplifting; and Bennet’s high-energy sessions always keep you on your toes! Not to mention Tony - who started when we had the life legend Gino at hand (years ago he passed away) who helps lead it all and ensure everyone court - coach and customer is taken care of with attention and fairness. And that’s just the start—there are so many other amazing coaches and staff who make this place what it is.

Speaking of staff, the welcoming warmth of Ally, Carrie, and Lisa (who feels more like family!) ensures every visit feels like coming home. They don’t just run the club; they build the social fabric that makes Nassau special. You can see this sense of community at every holiday celebration, where we often head to Tiger’s Tale or a nearby cafe to wrap up a session together.

The club also offers exciting activities like the thrilling 4-3-2-1 competitions and nightly workshops with passionate coaches who bring fresh perspectives and techniques. It’s never boring, always engaging, and so much fun!

Nassau Tennis Club isn’t just a place to play tennis—it’s where people connect, grow, and share the love of the sport. I wouldn’t trade my experiences here for anything. If you’re looking for a top-notch tennis facility with a vibrant and welcoming community, Nassau is it. Five stars, all the way!

Nassau Tennis Club stands out as one of the premier tennis facilities in New Jersey, especially for its outstanding Adult Program. The club excels by offering a wide variety of Adult Group Drills and Clinics, designed for players of all skill levels.

Seth Miller plays a pivotal role in ensuring well-matched courts and fostering a positive, contagious energy throughout the sessions.

What sets Seth and Blake Illes apart is their unwavering commitment—they bring consistent enthusiasm, offer valuable constructive feedback that helps participants improve, and inspire everyone with their motivating approach.

Nassau High Performance Tennis (HPT) program run by Coach Joao (Jay) Pinho & his team is exceptional. The program is meticulously designed for young tennis players who aspire to train and compete at higher levels (high school varsity teams, sectional/national tournaments, ITF events, or college tennis.). It is one of the best HPT program in the area. I highly recommend this program for its exceptional structure and quality (4:1 student/coach ratio, 1:1 Player/Parent feedback, stroke analysis (video) feedback, fitness, reachability & quick responses and wealth of information for parents on how to navigate their child's tennis journey). What's truly remarkable is Jay active involvement in every class, moving from one court to another providing players with immediate feedback. Thanks to Coach Jay & his entire team.

Our first tennis lesson with JP (Director of High Performance at Nassau), was on 8th May 2022 at 2:30 PM EST. A 3.3 UTR kid looking to find his way in the world of tennis. Today, after two and a half years, the same kid has grown into a solid, mature, and confident player (7.8 UTR), ready to move on to the next level of tennis, training hard, week after week. And no, we didn't just feed him magic beans!

Two primary reasons for his growth have been having an excellent coach in JP and consistent practice with dedicated training partners at the Nassau High Performance program. Plus, the support staff's inputs have been as crucial as a good rally in a tight match.

In the last few months, my younger one has signed up at the Nassau High Performance program and we are confident he will excel too!! If you're looking for a program that fosters growth and skill enhancement, look no further than Nassau's offerings.

Coach Joao Pinho and his team at Nassau Tennis Club are leading the most holistic High Performance program we have been a part of.

The highlight of the program is truly their multi-pronged approach to player development. There is a significant focus on fitness, mental coaching, supervised point play and on-going/systematic feedback (in class, video analysis, meetings with parents) over and above technical skills development.

My children, aged 15 and 13, have worked with Joao Pinho privately for a few years and are now exclusively training at Nassau Tennis club. The club is great, the sessions challenging and fun with a great bunch of players and coaches. Earnestly recommend!!!

Nassau Tennis has been an incredible experience for my son and has truly exceeded all our expectations! The growth we’ve seen in his skills and confidence on the court is remarkable, thanks to the amazing team of coaches and the new program director (Jay)

The coaches are not only highly knowledgeable but also incredibly supportive and encouraging. They take the time to understand each player’s strengths and areas for improvement, tailoring their approach to bring out the best in everyone. Nassau Tennis uses video analysis, to break down techniques and make adjustments as well as frequent feedback calls ( coach, player and parents) to communicate areas of improvement.
This has been a game-changer for my son, allowing him to see his progress but also understand exactly what he needs to work on.

The environment at Nassau fosters discipline, teamwork, and a love for the sport. It’s a place where players feel valued and motivated to push themselves. A well maintained club with an exceptional coaching staff. My daughter started taking lessons with Coach Jay shortly after her 3rd birthday and it has been a joy to watch her game flourish and enthusiasm blossom under Jay’s guidance.

Jay’s patience, attention to detail, and passion for his student’s success, has made him invaluable as a coach. Jay was able to effectively connect tennis movements and concepts to a 3 year old like simply tossing tennis balls over the net after split-steps, which has evolved into now hitting 5-6 ball rallies and serving consistently at just 5 years old. But most importantly Jay’s sense of humor and excitement for tennis has ignited my daughter’s love for the game. Highly recommend the club and coaches.

Also, Coach J is all about the basics and techniques, which are rare qualities that are most important for a young learner. Jay is an excellent tennis pro at Nassau Tennis Club, who has taught me as an adult beginner, having never played tennis. It’s been a year and the skills I have acquired from working with him are invaluable. He is the consummate professional and I would recommend him to anyone!

My family has been with Nassau Tennis for a few years. Seth and Tony are responsible, nice and friendly directors. Coach Bennett has endless energy, Jay, Mark, Bruno, Jeff, Greg, Keri and all coaches are patient and kind to kids. Courts are all in good condition. Mobile app is easy to use to register, manage class, request makeup, etc.

Love playing tennis at Nassau. The facilities are very nice and the pros are amazing. My main instructor has been Jay and I cannot recommend him enough. He is patient with beginners and provides very helpful feedback as his students progress into higher level tennis. He always keeps things fun and interesting by mixing fast paced games with drills for specific skills. Whether you are looking to improve your game or just have fun, Nassau is the place to head and Jay is a great option for your pro.

I've been a member of this tennis club for over three years, and it has been an outstanding experience! The adult evening classes are fantastic – the coaches are knowledgeable, patient, and truly dedicated to helping everyone improve their game. I especially enjoy it when coaches are able to play in some games to add in an extra fun challenge, and they always make sure to throw in helpful advice.

The facilities are top-notch, and the club fosters a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Special shoutout to Lisa at the front desk, Tony the director, and coaches Bruno and Phillipe whose classes I always have the most fun in!

We’ve been members of Nassau Tennis Club since our kids were in Kindergarten. From pre-wee to HP, they not only learned and loved the game but also foster lifetime friendships. Coaches and administrators know each player by name and assuring parents it is a safe place to be in. Coach Jay is attentive to the details and very knowledgeable of the game. We noticed growth in our daughter’s confidence and game.

My twins have been with Nassau Tennis for a year and a half. They both started as beginners and have made great progress. Thanks to Coach Greg, Coach Mark and all the other coaches. Without you, they wouldn't have such a passion for tennis and would be willing to sweat on the court. Hope Nassau Tennis will always witness and accompany my twins growth.

Group sessions are awful.. really really really awful. Why don’t they replace so called “coaches” with ball machines? I haven’t seen one coach correct the technique or give some lesson or do anything helpful to improve the game. Instead they stand lazily and keep giving the balls robotically. It is super awful to watch.

For couple days I’ve been communicating with the front desk to schedule and secure private tennis lessons at Nassau Tennis for my 8 yo. I had the unfortunate privilege to speak with Lisa. I’m not lying when I tell you she has the most abrasive, passive aggressive attitude I’ve encountered over the phone. She sighed , was rude, passive aggressive, I can go on and on. I would never ever give this place my business. And I hope this review helps with your search.

Don't be obliged to go this place just because it is the only one in the neighborhood. Management for adult tennis class is terrible at scheduling or communications. They added me to a private morning class without the instructor knowing about this. I showed up after canceling my important work day meetings only to be sent home. Absolutely unacceptable. If you don't raise your voice, they manipulate you and throw in surprises. I am not the one to generally complain, but this incident compelled me to do so. My kids now are high performance tennis players however they started at Nassau and got into all wrong habits. I wish I never wasted my 1.5 yrs (both time and moneywise). Tennis is a sport just like any sport that needs clean and clear fundamentals. This place has absolutely no talent or good coaches to teach you the fundamentals of tennis. No one here at this facility is invested in you or enhancing your skills to learn tennis. The place is only interested in getting $$ by having random coaches and filling in their classes with as many individuals as they can. There are many wonderful tennis facilities with highly invested coaches in the Princeton and Hopewell neighborhoods. Please do your research and stay away from this club. This is coming out of a tennis family where all of us are tennis players!

I booked my class for two weekends and I know these were confirmed. On the 11th morning I called to double check the time of the class and come to know my class disappeared from their schedule. She apologized and said the next class was confirmed for sure. Called 18th afternoon to double check and again my class is not in the schedule!! The coach changes his classes 3 times a day! I cancel my weekend plans and work around to keep this class. It's a shame how disorganized they are...it's not that hard to follow a schedule.

Got an email to play doubles so I signed up! Drive 25 min there on Sunday paid my $22 and 15 min after start time one guy is still not there. Turn out that they NEVER confirmed with the 4th player! What? So I wasted an hour of my day . It’s a shame because it’s a beautiful facility ! I got my money back but that’s not the point, it was poor communication and I could have stayed in bed.

I'm a PICKLEBALL PLAYER and recently discovered Nassau Tennis Club. I'm not a beginner, and thus I do very much appreciate the wonderful facility for Pickleball at the Club. Reasonable $10 fee for two hours for nonmembers, $7 for Club Members. All levels of pickleball play there, some very good players. Ladies and gents mix and match at times, or men play doubles. Great courts, real painted pickleball lines, and professional indoor pickleballs provided by management. Cari, one of the Owners, also a good and enthusiastic Pickler when you can catch her.

I have been playing tennis at Nassau Tennis Club since I was 6 years old. Over the years, I have worked with many of the Coaches –Tony, Seth, Dave, Matt, Gino, Jay and Marc. They have all helped me improve my game. As a high school senior, my partner and I won the NJ State Doubles Championships. I had 5-6 recruiting opportunities from college coaches and I am now playing tennis at Allegheny College. I attribute my success to hard work and the great coaching I received from Seth’s junior program and Marc’s high performance program.

My daughter started coming here in the fall 1 time per week. She is now coming to 2 group classes and 1 private lesson each week!
I am very pleased with the coaches she has and the attention she is getting. She is having fun and improving rapidly.
I particularly like that the program is so well organized: my daughter is looking forward to moving up to the next higher class.
I have even begun Adult Group lessons: they are fun, and I've met many wonderful people.
