I love hitting Planet Fitness during the graveyard shift — the quieter atmosphere is perfect for my workouts. A big shout-out to “O,” who keeps the place spotless, organized, and always running smoothly. Every time I’m in, he’s actively working, cleaning, and making sure the gym feels welcoming. The newer space is much better.. no problem getting machines. Bathrooms are always gross but, what can you do. People are gross. The only gripe is the kids working - you either get no greeting or, if you want a bed or massage chair, you have to interrupt a kid from texting, or whatever on their phone to actually do their job. The kicker was a kid today (1/24) on his phone, AirPods in, sitting on the counter… how do people get paid for this and most importantly where is the management? Not a good look, at all.

Coming back to say- people get paid to sit on the counters and scroll on their phones… don’t even lift their heads half the time. Wish I got Paid for that at their age 😂

Went here for 8 months. Bathrooms could be a lot more clean for sure. Managers are nice but sometimes the workers' customer service isn't good depending on the worker and can take a while to get something situated. Can get very crowded. Positives, are they are open 24 hours. They have a lot of machines.
Cons: They only offer personal trainers during the day. As a black card holder I'm not able to take advantage of all the perks. Too many people sit at machines while on their phone scrolling way to long.

This gym is disgusting. Everything is covered in an inch of dust, the restrooms are filthy, multiple machines are constantly out of order and the water fountain is always broken. They do not offer complimentary waters. The club manager is RUDE and NASTY, and had the audacity to laugh at me when I brought this to her attention. I will be calling corporate.

Came here and they had no running water through the water fountains. Said "out of order" on it. I pay for a black card and can't even have drinking water, something every gym has? They should have at LEAST been giving away free bottled water to compensate. You can't have people working out in a hot gym with no water. I won't be back to this location until it's fixed.

Have been coming to this location off and on for years but CONSISTENTLY now for almost a year and I have to say, 5 star experience.

Always clean, pleasant members, helpful staff including Caitlin and I can always get a massage chair and tanning bed when requested.

The members are non creeper, friendly and helpful.

I have visited other locations but this one is my favorite.

Me and my 2 friends are regulars in the gym. Today Friday March 7th 2025 we came in to the gym to do the 30 minute circuit when we got to one of the machines there was a gentleman just using a machine for a workout not doing the circuit as well as 2 girls telling the guy he can do what ever je wants to do as they were not doing the circuit neither. After when they left they went to front desk to tell one of the 4 people up front who should be monitoring the back buy standing around talking and Sanjana came to the back and yelled at ne and my 2 friends while we were doing the circuit the correct way. She threatened to throw us out but it was ok for the people to dis obey the rules. She threatened to stop our membership. I was really annoyed with this as I am a regular and never had an issue with ant members or workers this was the worst experience I ever had in this gym and really mad

Equipment is clean and functional. When equipment breaks, it seems to be repaired in a reasonable timeframe. Would recommend to any light fitness enthusiast. I would also recommend they add additional Stairmaster machines, as they are in constant demand no matter the time of visit.

I’ve been going to the Hazlet PF since it relocated across the mall. About 3 days a week so I know what I’m talking about. Employees keep the gym very clean. Great equipment and always maintained. The staff is amazing. I’ve spoken to almost every one and they all make you feel welcomed. They’re professional and friendly. 24-7 is the best. The locker room and showers are very clean. The massage chair and hydro massage are always working and kept clean. The few negative comments on yelp are so inaccurate. My only issue is people watching videos and holding up the equipment.

Ive been going to this PF for quite awhile. Not bad at all. It Does what its supppsed to do. But whats the deal wth these people doing 1 set and then scroll the phone for 10 minutes? Just now i did 2 body parts and 20 minutes of cardio before this one woman got off the press machine that she wasnt even using... and had her sneakers off with her feet on the dumbell handles...dude...put your sneakers back on. Compared to the other planet fitness location I came from this gym definitely needs an upgrade. They need upgraded equipment and staff. The staff does a terrible job. Paper towels and disinfectant spray bottles always empty. I never see staff going around to clean or tidy up the gym such as putting weights back on the rack. This gym is also very small so it’s always crowded. Overall just not a fan of this location!

By far the worst Planet Fitness I've been to in Middlesex/Monmouth/Ocean County area. The weight lift machines are terrible and they don't even have the newer cycling machines with interactive scene rides.. felt like it was a waste of a workout coming here (compared to others) and was disappointed with machines..

I go to the Hazlet location and have been a member of other gyms. Love going here for many reasons but some of the top are machines are kept in working order and gym is always clean. I was highly impressed with the level of service provided by the staff at Planet Fitness in Hazlet, NJ, particularly by a team member named Ben. As a Prime member, my wife and I initially encountered some confusion regarding our registration process. However, when Ben was consulted, he promptly ceased his current tasks to aid us. His swift and efficient assistance ensured a smooth and straightforward registration process. Additionally, Ben took the time to thoroughly explain the benefits of the Prime program and the various amenities available at Planet Fitness.
As a retired police supervisor, I understand the critical role that staff training plays in the success of any organization. It was gratifying to see Ben actively training his colleagues on how to process Prime memberships, a practice that is sure to enhance customer service for future visitors.
I would like to extend my praise to both Ben and the entire staff at the Hazlet Planet Fitness. During my visits, I have consistently found the facilities to be well-maintained and the staff to be exceedingly polite and attentive to any issues presented to them.

I tried this gym out for a few months and it was just ok. The staff definitely needs work on their customer service. I dont ever see any of them cleaning or greeting anyone. My issue is the lack of space and limited machines. When you try to use the free weights, it feels like there is barley enough room for you to move freely without hitting someone. I go at different times hoping to find a smaller crowd but even with less people there is still no space. I suggest moving the leg machines into the free weight area and using the bigger space in the back for free weights. Also, a bunch of the ellipticals wobble when you run on them which is very uncomfortable. Overall, I guess you get what you pay for so it's time for me to upgrade.

I just joined and see that it's more crowed than there former location. I found out, that I can not get a trainer and I'm stuck there by a one year contract. I can not cancel, even with a doctor's note! The free weigh area has no room!They closed for maintenance overnight. Sign said open 5am,closed,then open 6am, still closed! Who runs this place!

Been going to this gym for some time now, gym itself is good. Machines majority of the time are working, normally not too crowded etc. Employee wise I never see any employees actually doing anything around the gym such as cleaning equipment, doing rounds, etc. They are always behind the counter eating (which is gross), on their phones, or talking to each other. They have an older man there who takes his job way too serious and is extremely rude to members. I went in last week (mind you I pay on a month to month basis) I didn’t make a payment for March as of yet, but already paid for the month of February. The employee told me I couldn’t use the gym since I didn’t pay for the month of March yet, but we are still in February. I showed him that I paid the month of February and on the app my account says active as the month isn’t over yet. He was extremely nasty and said “oh well can’t let you in”. Every time I see him he always is snarly, and I honestly feel like he enjoys telling members no or to leave.

If there was another planet closer to home I honestly would have switched by now, but normally I just try to avoid going at night as that’s when I realized he is there majority of time.

Newly opened with convenient parking. Handicapped accessible. Not a huge facility but it is setup well. The equipment and machines are always been clean each time I have visited. Its always very clean and they have deep cleaning days there that the staff have to do to keep it tidy.
