I’ve been going to this gym for years recently. I notice that the TVs screens freeze a lot. I don’t care about the rest of them, but number nine specifically is for ESPN, which is what I watch. I asked several staff members if it can be reset since it’s been like that for days They are telling me they can’t touch them I don’t know what’s so hard about that or to get somebody that can fix them. It’s very annoying.

This is my local Planet fitness and I love it. The guys in the check-in area are super nice and respectful. Machines are always clean and regardless sometimes it is crowded there's always a good vibe.

Our family truly enjoy seeing Dennis there. He’s very professional, very approachable, friendly, and a great person to be working there. He makes the gym the place to be. So I usually go to the EHT PF but today I went to mays landing. I only go during the day time and I can tell you the EHT staff are so much more welcoming and helpful! The minute I walked into May landing location I saw a heavy set Hispanic employee with long curly hair shift was 10 am time st front desk. This woman did not greet us and she acted like she didn’t want to greet me or assist my guests requiring special assistance. Her energy was not friendly or approachable and customer service jobs are for people who can handle the public no matter what mood they are in. Please educate this employee on customer service bc it’s not for everyone and you don’t know what that customer is going through that day.

So I received that my girlfriend went this morning as of today 06/7/25 around 0900-0930hours and she was not able to get in the gym and was sent home to change because a lady employee told her that she’s not allowed to have crocs on, although another female came in with slides on and had her let in, as of right now, this is sort of some racist action because my girlfriend is black and the other lady was white. How can a lady with slides on make a difference when my girlfriend always came in with crocs on and never had any incident, my girlfriend had told the lady employee this and she told her let’s not focus on her let’s focus on you, that’s some racist action, now she went home crying this is unacceptable.

I have the Black Card. Having access to the Spa area is wonderful. It's nice to see they replaced the Hydromassage chairs with new ones and the Total Body Enhancement booths have been working without a shut down for sometime now. The only thing is I wish the Spa area had a Steam room or a Sauna. That is such a wonderful feeling to experience after a workout.

Closes very early on weekends at 7pm, and closes at 10pm on weekdays. Only one of certain machines so they're always in use. Otherwise it's a fine gym, very clean conscious too. They could probably have invested in more weight lifting machines than ellipticals and bikes that half aren't even in use.

[EDIT (8/31/2014): They have added new and more machines that adds a lot of diversity to workouts. Still closes early though. Anyway I added +1 star

The Mays Landing Planet Fitness is extremely run-down. The massage chairs are worn out, squeaky, and in desperate need of replacement. The total enhancement machine is rusty and old. It's high time for this Planet Fitness location to be updated! When I spoke to the manager as advised, she simply laughed and shifted the blame to the owner. After not visiting for 6 months, I decided to give it another shot, only to find that the condition of the place had deteriorated even further! There are broken machines and even a broken massage chair. This establishment is simply unacceptable and needs immediate attention.

So I really like going here, it's a shame some people don't have common curtesy. 2 young skinny men (either spanish or Indian), take the only 2 sets of 75 pound dumbells and sit with them the whole time while doing other exercises in the dumbell section. They baby sit the 75lb weights and no one else can use them until they leave. I wish staff would notice this and let them know other people are in the gym and would like to use them too since they r oblivious to others around them. Can someone correct this issue, they come together and can share a set of 75lb dumbells. Why does everyone have to go without cuz these 2 can't realize they can share a set and allow others to use the remaining weights. Frustrating!!

Overall I think PF is a great gym. This post is about the staff. My 73-year-old mother was in the gym yesterday. The treadmill threw my mother off, rearranging her clothing pulling her bottoms to her knees. The skin was pulled from her left & right knees.

I'm disappointed NO ONE FROM PLANET FITNESS CALLED TO CHECK ON HER TO THIS MOMENT. SMH SHAME ON YOUR MANAGEMENT SEEMS AS IF YOUR FACILITY DOESN'T CARE.

The hours aren't great. The equipment is typical of Planet Fitness; being lots of treadmills and other endurance machines with woefully inadequate free weights. This is not a gym to go to body build or strength train. I've been lunk alarmed for weight plates in a rowing machine contacting too loudly. I'm no ripped athlete, but this gym is too weak even for a fat Dad like me. I guess if you have nowhere to run outside and really like purple, you might like it.

Went for first time last night and was pleasantly surprised by how clean this gym is. All the equipment I tried worked and it wasn’t too crowded either. I had a question and needed help twice and a member of the staff was very nice and accommodating. I didn’t get his name but he was a tall, African American gentleman with long hair. Very professional. So glad I joined and got the upgraded membership so I can go to any of the facilities. I travel a lot with my teenagers so it will be convenient to work out while they are doing their own thing wherever we may be.

I love this Planet Fitness. 2019.The gym is well kept and the staff are always cleaning the machines and refilling supplies. The staff and trainers are friendly and helpful too. The locker room and bathrooms are clean. I love how the gym is open 24/7, making it easier to keep up an active healthy lifestyle. I highly recommend Planet Fitness!

Update: I rejoined this gym 5 years later ( 2024) and they have made some changes; for the worse. They are no longer open 24/7 after covid. That's a big inconvenience for members as everyone has unique schedules and we need to be able to access the gym when needed. It doesn't sound smart to have big crowds of people crammed into a small window of time due to limited hours open. How is that more safe than being open 24/7 and members can be spaced out over a bigger time period of the day. The PF gyms in Brick and Toms River are open 24/7 everyday. There's no excuse to keep these awful limited hours anymore. I also cannot download the new app on my android and now have to sign in manually at the front desk. Bring back the key tags! Some people have issues with the app and not everyone is glued to their phones at the gym, so I don't appreciate being forced to use my phone every minute for a simple sign in. Other than that, the gym is still very clean and all machines are well kept in working order.

Not open like they promised. Crazy short hours and not enough workout machines or bench racks but a thousand treadmill and stupid bikes which nobody is ever on. You'd think it's the desire of everyone to use a treadmill and skip the bench and squat rack the way they set the gym up. But no the could do away with half the treadmills and bikes and put in three more squat racks. I've been coming to PF and I never really had issues with the staff besides the one lady with the blue hair. She's would be so rude and would just stare at you when you walk in, doesn't greet you or make you feel welcomed like other staff members would. It makes me uncomfortable even coming to the front desk to ask for something because she'd be having an attitude ready when she sees you walking towards the desk. One day I approached the desk and she didn't acknowledged the fact that I was standing in front of her while her face was stuck on her phone. Then when she realized I was standing there she proceeded to talk to me in way where it felt like I was bothering her when I asked for something. I understand nobody wants to come to work, but it shouldn't be an excuse to have basic manners when talking to people.

I've been coming here off and on for quite some time let's just say. I really miss the old staff prior to the pandemic. When you say thank you their response is not "YEP". What the heck is that? They would say YOU'RE WELCOME. When someone says THANK YOU your response should be YOU'RE WELCOME Or better yet MY PLEASURE. When you come in I'm used to hearing good morning or read their lips due to me wearing headphones. Also they would add ENJOY YOUR WORKOUT. If my gym didnt close due to the pandemic I would've never ever came back here. But I can say the black young would actually greet you when you come in but the other staff so busy stuffing there face or on their phones can't take the time out to greet us members. By far the best PF location we have been to. The Black Card amenities are great, the gym is always clean (I don't use the showers so can't speak to the cleanliness of those). Even at the busiest times here, we can usually find what we need. The staff isn't overly friendly but have never had a rude or negative encounter with them. This is just a very well equipped, large, clean, easy to use gym. I appreciate it even more now that we are out of state and visiting another PF in NY. What a nightmare.
If members or potential members are reading this... please don't sit on a bench or machine on your phone. This is basic gym etiquette and we'll all be happier for it seizing to exist!

Place looked nice so I wanted to join, but for some strange reason, if I want to pay cash upfront for the full year, they wanted to charge me extra money beyond the total what I would pay monthly for the full year. It's very odd. Seems like the opposite of a good business decision. Usually there are discounts at gyms for paying upfront for a year...I'm fine paying the same price, but certainly not more!

I don’t understand why they charge full price membership for a location who’s owner is too cheap to return the faculty back to 24 hours. Search all other locations outside of Atlantic County and you’ll see they’re 24 hours. Taking advantage of old Covid restrictions to save a few bucks, but stiff your customers. Disgraceful.

I had an incident recently at this gym where a man was bothering me during my workout by the benches. He was rushing me to get off the bench and asked me if I was using it multiple times when I clearly was using it. He was also very rude to me and shouting. I felt very uncomfortable and went to the front desk. I’ve been coming to this gym for a very long time. Ive never had any issues here except today. Recently, they hired new staff. When I approached them about the situation, the three staff employees said that they couldn’t do anything about it. The woman with short blonde hair was extremely condescending and rude to me and basically told me that it was my fault. I am actually disgusted by what happened. They don’t care about your safety here. I will not be coming back. Don’t waste your time and money here.
