I just moved to the area last year and this location is the closest, but they always seem to have broken machines and machines that's off balance and not clean, so when they closed for renervations I thought they would take care of those things, but nope not as of today 11/9/2025. While the new lockers are nice, what about the machines? A lot of them are off balance due people not knowing what they are doing, and still machines that are not working for those of us who want to get in a good workout and go, instead of waiting for people who just sitting on the machines knowing its the only one that works. And now it seems like the treadmills are closer together, too close if there is a full house. And why didn't they power wash the machines? Even though that should be done after the repairs were made. Such a disappointment 😞. The gym I found further away down 18 is beautiful! So I guess I will have to make that location my new home and eat the gas it takes to get there. Again I'm highly disappointed.

Google Maps showed this place as open, but when I arrived, it was closed for construction.
Updating business hours on Google Maps takes less than a minute, yet even this basic step was ignored. If a business cannot handle such a simple task, I cannot expect them to care about their customers.

Just visited only to be refused to use shower 5:30 morning. The gym should belive that they have full rights to refuse us to use anything if there was a renovation work. They forced me to use a portable toilet placed in dark outside to pee. 😱 No lights at night and no water to wash hands at all! No sign for unavailability or need to use the portable units. You and me appear nearly as animals to them. Extreme disrespect of members.😡 I hope the company will replace or deactivate the current ownership and management of this location. 😡😡

Every other day a machine is out of order. They refuse to fix the fans so it feels like you're training in a sauna. I understand if yous don't want to fix the fans but as least crank the AC up. This gym has great potential if they'd just keep up the proper maintenance.

The gym is very clean & spacious, the staff is nice but I’ve been going here for almost 2 years and for about a year and a half the facility has had no air and the fans aren’t even working. Especially in the summer it becomes extremely hard to breathe in there. It seems like they’re in the middle of remodeling, but still haven’t gotten the air fixed? Priorities are a little mixed up there. Please fix the air. 😭

THIS LOCATION CHARGED ME 70+ DOLLARS AND THEN SUBMITTED THE BILL TO COLLECTIONS CLAIMING I DIDNT PAY. I HAVE CALLED THEM AND MEMBER SERVICES ALMOST 30 TIMES. NO ONE WILL HELP. UPDATE -

Months after telling me I was all paid up (which I have an audio recording of the interaction for my protection) they say they forgot to bill it and it's in collections. But! They do see a note in the system that says I paid. (So why not get this settled right??)

SOOOO, today, after more months of being told it's a billing error, they say, wellllll, actually, we did bill it, but that wasn't the full amount. You paid 70+ dollars in "Club Fees" and still owe 80 in late fees. NO ONE IN ALL THESE MONTHS SAID THAT UNTIL TODAY. AND ONLY AFTER I HAD TO "ESCALATE" THIS WITH CORPORATE 3 TIMES. Why wasn't this said before? I could have paid. Why did you say "billing error" when it was simple another charge????? Which story is the truth?

And BTW, I did the math. The late fees I would have owed would not add up to more than the club fees. AND THE EMPLOYEE I DEALT WITH IN PERSON WHEN I PAID YOU TOLD ME THE LATE FEES WERE IN THE PRICE HE CHARGED ME. ACCOUNT BALANCE PAID IN FULL.

I've been a member at this Planet Fitness for a while now, and overall the gym has a lot of great things going for it. The space is clean, there's a solid variety of machines, and I usually enjoy my workouts here.
However, lately there's been a serious issue that’s making it almost unbearable to do cardio…the overhead fan systems are not working. The staff has mentioned that a work ticket was submitted and have mo idea when they will fix it. With no airflow, the gym becomes extremely hot and stuffy, especially during longer sessions. It's not just uncomfortable; it's genuinely unhealthy and discouraging.
To make matters worse, the gym has gotten significantly more crowded due to the Teen Summer Pass program. While it’s great to see more young people being active, the increase in foot traffic combined with poor ventilation has made conditions even worse.
I'd really like to know what’s being done to address the broken fan systems, and more importantly, when they’ll be fixed.
Hope to see some improvements soon — this gym has a lot of potential if basic comfort issues like this are taken seriously.

Staff is solid, place is pretty clean. Just my only problem is the Bench presses, they are all pointing to the cardio machines. So you have to move the bench to not face them, but your force to reach them weird. So please turn them around

Gym is great has good machines and weights BUT temperature is horrendous humid, air condition is barely working or not working at all, fans are not working!!! I cannot do the exercises I used to do because air quality is not the best at all. It's way too warm inside the gym—makes it hard to breathe during workouts. It feels like the air conditioners aren't working at all. I asked the staff to switch on the fans, but they said they're not working either and haven’t been running since before winter. I travel all over America and go to Planet Fitness in different states. But what I was told here today really surprised me. I use a jump rope for cardio in the workout zone or stretching zone, and today one of the employees approached me and said that I couldn’t use a jump rope, without giving any explanation. Over the past year, I’ve been to around 100 different Planet Fitness locations, and I have never heard such nonsense. I’ll find another gym!!! No one has ever forbidden me from doing this, and I’ve been coming to this location for two months, jumping rope here every day.

What a Great Day! Today was my very 1st visit at the Planet Fitness 🏋️‍♂️ 💪🏿 in North Brunswick.. When i walked 🚶‍♂️ into the men's locker room, I noticed that it was very very clean and it smelled very good 👍🏿.. I then noticed an employee by the name of KHALIL, as he was presently doing some cleaning.. I had to tell him what a Wonderful job he was doing as he gave a GREAT SMILE 😃 and said THANKYOU VERY MUCH!!! I told him that I will definitely leave a good review 🙂 as he really made my day.. Attention, before you come here to Planet Fitness the policies that you should be aware of the gym for Planet Fitness, they won’t allow you to record with your phone take pictures or a tripod or any camera stick and everything must be kept private and the Wi-Fi is horrible. After signing up I did not realize and there is to much strict rules and policies and it almost replicated school and there’s a manager named Gigi she keeps taking about policies then comforting the people in the gym and she does not give sympathy or care to the gym and it is way to controlling.

The staff team is horrible and there’s a massive language barrier and a common language is Spanish and there is caring people that work out here but the managers keep gossiping about you in Spanish.

Don’t come here and the machines are not that great, very low quality. Save your money go to another gym, not this gym.

BEWARE!!! I had my car and home keys stolen from the locker room on November 2, 2024 between 7pm and 8pm. I left them in my sweat pants jacket pocket in the women's locker room in a locker and someone obviously went through my pockets and removed my keys. Clearly, the work of a thief but more than likely not an isolated incident. So, take the posted information about the gym not being responsible for lost property SERIOUSLY!!!
However, what they failed to mention was the APATHETIC RESPONSE from the staff including manager Gigi that goes hand in hand with this policy. I NEVER GOT an "I'm so sorry that this happened to you" or "Will you be okay out there, stranded at night in the cold because our policy is to lock you out after 8pm." I literally was PUT OUT even though I asked for 2 more minutes just to look around to see if I could find them. She refused and said I was NOT ALLOWED BACK into the building after closing. She was more concerned with cleaning up and locking the door so that she could leave on time rather than show care or concern or provide real help or hope like we'll roll back the cameras. This incident was poorly handled by the staff and the manager who are CLEARLY UNTRAINED to handle situations like this. When you manage a business, it's more than just following a policy. It is about following up that policy with a human touch as well like "I am so sorry that ...but our policy states ,,,,,however, I will roll back the cameras, ask around, look around and do whatever I can do to help you. I GOT NONE OF THAT so I will rate yesterday's experience at PLANET FITNESS NORTH BRUNSWICK, a 0 because of it. The APATHY coupled with INCOMPETENCE and UNPROFESSIONALISM gives this franchise a REALLY BAD LOOK!!!

This has to be my favorite location I go too. I'll drive the extra 20 mins when there's one 5 mins from my house. The staff here is always smiling at the desk in the wee hours of the moring. They are always cleaning the equipment. They are helpful when you need it. They have the best massage chairs. Was very happy since I've joined. Super pleased with the equipment overhaul. Compliments to the owner and staff. Im not from around the area and this is my second time at this gym, it’s okay but the gym is filthy. The shower floors are black and dusty, theres trash left around in the cup holders on the machines, people do not clean up after themselves, and the machines stink like sweat and wet socks and it is so hot. Its my "home location" but the least favorite out of three i regularly visit. Comparing it to the others, it has a very institution feel, uninspiring atmosphere. The lighting is so bright, the music can barely be heard and it often has a sewer odor for the massage machines. I joined this location because it is close to my work, but i enjoy the other 2 locations much better that are closer to where i live.

I have been trying to cancel my membership here for the past year and was told even through email twice that it has been cancelled. They have been charging me since then monthly and even renewed my membership annually despite saying it has been cancelled. When I spoke to the manager Gigi saying I should be reimbursed since we last spoke four months ago and was told my membership was cancelled, they hung up on me.

They reached out to me after I left them a one star review and they are saying the same roundabout stuff their other workers say such as “transfer your membership to a new location so you can cancel” I have been trying to cancel my membership since 2021 because I have not gone here since before the pandemic. Their worker on the phone told me no one logged into my account to look at it in over 425 DAYS. Which means all those conversations and check ins at other locations were phony and made up by your representatives and managers. They pull your payment out of your bank using your account number- so even if you do bank disputes, they will still charge you. There’s no gym besides this one who won’t apparently let you cancel your membership without scamming you- so go elsewhere.

Staff is great, always friendly and I always see them cleaning in the mornings. The tanning beds are surprisingly stronger than I thought they would be given that it’s a “free” amenity (if you have a Black Card).

Great amenities even though they are older, hence some of the squeak, great spa and all the glory that PF comes with. The best part is on weekends they close at 8pm and not 7pm. I really enjoyed this gym. Very clean and staff is amazing.. BUT this free gym for kids is crazy. The kids should have a certain time frame where they can come and SHOULD have an adult with them. These kids have no adult with them. This week a young kid was trying to weight lift and had too much weight on the bar.. well the bar was too heavy and the weight slammed on the ground and the kid flew forward. Knocking even his air buds out! Who will be responsible for these kids when they get injured.
I am a parent and encourage the kids to get healthy but my son/daughter come with ME. I do not allow my kids to come without me for safety reasons. Also, these teens are hanging out at machines making it impossible for others to use. I have been going to the PF in Edison because THEY ARE 24 hours Monday - Thursday… which was the main reason I joined PF was because it was 24/7. Wish that it was a rule that these kids would have to attend with an adult. It really is a huge issue with safety. Hopefully next year they will make the kids come with a member and not just alone… OR give them a set of hours they are allowed to attend. Hope this really gets addressed. I have seen a few members leave to other PF.

Nice staff, decent gym... but what happened to 24/7? This is a major drawback for me. It is one of the main reasons I joined PF in the first place and now the hours are still significantly reduced.

Its is a good workout place. Some people wearing mask , so not, but its a respectful clean enviorment. Not crowed any time i have been there since i joined on 1/1/2022

EDIT - 3 months later , life returning to normal , yet planet fitness is still operating under reduced hours , how long can you claim to be open 24/7 and actually not be open, and it seems you guys have no will to return to normal operating hours , this is very frustrating, idk how much longer I will be a member because being 24/7 is the whole reason I joined PF In the first place

Love this gym chain. Doesnt burn a hole in your wallet and has everything you would need at a gym. This branch is pretty well maintained clean. Doesnt smell bad like some gyms.

Yesterday October 21st I was on vacation and I normally don't go to the gym at 1 p.m. but I decided to go get a quick workout for about an hour. Someone went into my locker got my keys out of my book bag in went into my vehicle and took my money out of my wallet , then left them on the running board of my truck. I swear God was with them yesterday because if I would have caught whoever it was it would have been the WORST day of their life. You may think you got a way now but trust and believe you will get caught

1. Same peice of gum in the urinals for 5 weeks now, the mens bathrooms are disgusting.
2. Soap dispensers empty in both the mens and women's bathroom daily.
3. Paper towels throughout the facility missing and no attention to them.
4. Broken cable machines, 5 weeks and still no repairs.
5. MOST IMPORTANTLY the hand sanitizers throughout the facility has been out for over 4 weeks. Whats going on???
6. People working out in flip flops??, (safety hazard)
7. Garbage cans extremely full and smells.

Staff are definitely friendly and are observed constantly cleaning the machines, much appreciated.

I love coming to this gym. The staff is always super friendly, they have cleaning stations literally everywhere so you don't have to go scouring the gym in search of one.
The staff also comes around frequently to clean, change out disinfectant sprays, and check the level of paper towels in the hands free dispensers. Their app is equally awesome with the crowd meter which allows you to decide for yourself when a good time to go is based on the level of occupancy. In times like these all of the above really matters so good job Planet Fitness of North Brunswick.

Worst planet fitness out of all. It's a pandemic provide free masks to the customers who pays for your membership. Awful, awful(!!!!) customer service. New girl on the register, started serving other customer before finished with me. Guy on the register being rude , with attitude.
