I would like to bring to your attention, the superior customer service given to us members by Joe Doubt. Joey goes out of his way when we check in to make it a pleasant experience, and he knows every member by name, which to me is a valued plus of customer service. Joey is the reason so many members enjoy their workout. Joey is the reason why we enjoy going to this location He is pleasant, helpful and professional. I like this PF. Not overly busy and the employees are very friendly. They seem to be happy when they see a familiar face being committed to their fitness journey.
If I could offer any feedback it would be to add the machines that are very popular. The butterfly chest fly machine for example. Every gym, especially one the size of PF should have at least two of these.
Other than that.. I prefer this one over Princeton even though that one is much bigger.

It's a good place.
There is no a guidance during your workout sessions. Even in your first day at the gym.
The hydro massage machine it's out of service.

I’ve been to this gym plenty of times and have always had a good experience. I saw a 1-star review claiming “discrimination against Indians,” which honestly doesn’t make sense 99% of the people here are Indian. 🤣🤣🤣
It’s hard to see how anyone’s being singled out when this town is literally India in nj. In my experience, everyone is treated the same.

I am extremely disappointed, disheartened, and angry with the treatment I received at this Planet Fitness location. As an Indian member, I felt singled out and treated unfairly in a way that raises very serious concerns of racism and discrimination.
The Club Manager, Helly Hodapp and an employee named Atron Hogan refused to make simple corrections that were completely within their control. My husband's date of birth was mistakenly entered as 1993 instead of 1992, and my photo on their system did not match because it was originally taken incorrectly by their own staff. Both issues could have been resolved instantly by updating the DOB and retaking my photo – which they are clearly able to do for members. Instead, they insisted they were “not allowed” to make any changes.
To make matters worse, when we went again today (5th day) to check if the issue had been solved, the front desk staff (not Atron Hogan or Helly Hodapp) corrected my husband’s DOB and updated my photo within just 2 minutes. This proves that the changes could have been done the very first day by Atron Hogan and Helly, but they chose not to help us. Why did they refuse, when another employee could do it instantly without any issue? This shows clear negligence, double standards, and targeted behavior.
Why this inequality? Why this injustice? Why were we targeted? I noticed Atron Hogan checking our details in a way I did not see him doing with other members. It is clear we were treated differently.
Because of this, my husband and I have not been able to access the gym for the last 6 days, even though we have paid all fees on time, including the $52 per person maintenance fee. Despite raising a complaint, we were told to keep waiting for days for “Customer Service” to respond. This is unethical, unprofessional, and unacceptable. A minor issue like this should be fixed immediately – not leave paying members blocked from entry.
To make matters worse, our membership was canceled without our authorization. How can a manager and employee take such action on their own against paying customers? This feels like pure harassment.
I am demanding that a senior authority or director personally look into this matter. The staff members responsible – the Club Manager - Helly Hodapp and Atron Hogan – should be held accountable. I will escalate this issue through every possible channel until justice is done.
This is not only about poor service. It is about unfair treatment, harassment, and clear discrimination. Until this issue is resolved and action is taken, I will continue to speak out.
Have attached a photo of a doc, where Atron Hogan's name & his random signature or the real signature, GOD KNOWS could be clearly seen.
This isn't OUR SIGNATURE. If want proof of that, can be done through cross checking with bank's signature. Without our CONSENT, without our AUTHORIZATION, this person has done this act, in 1000000% presence of Miss Helly Hodapp, THE CLUB MANAGER AT 10 SCHALKS CROSSING RD, PLAINSBORO.
Now I get it, why only this location has lowest ratings, If you go and check other locations, they have ratings in 4.5, 4.4 stars.
There are SOME EMPLOYEES HERE, who are clearly responsible for such low ratings at this location.
The owner of this location, If you are reading this, immediately change both of this employees, especially change the CLUB MANAGER, as I can see there are many people who have written dissatisfying negative reviews about the CLUB Manager.

Things gone from bad to worst!!
WARNING: Avoid this Planet Fitness. Under new management, this gym has become a complete disaster. Machines are constantly broken, the place is overcrowded and unhygienic, and staff walk around like they’re running a prison, not a fitness center.
But the real issue? The manager. She doesn’t de-escalate — she provokes. She follows members, yells across the floor, waves cleaning tools in people’s faces, and uses intimidation instead of professionalism.
This isn’t just bad service — it’s hostile, embarrassing, and a liability. I’ve already submitted formal complaints and shared video proof with corporate. Planet Fitness needs to investigate this location immediately before more paying members are humiliated and wrongfully removed.
Until they do? Take your money to Retro Fitness or LA Fitness down the street. This place is no longer safe or worth it.

Unprofessional Staff Behavior – Won’t Be Returning to This Location
I’ve been going to Planet Fitness for almost 10 years, and I’ve never had an issue like this at any other location—until now.
Today, I was approached by a staff member (part of the cleaning crew) who gave me unnecessary attitude about locking up my gym bag. Yes, there were signs posted, but in all my years of going to different Planet Fitness gyms, I’ve never seen this rule enforced, and certainly not in such an aggressive, unfriendly way.
She didn’t greet me, didn’t ask how I was doing—just immediately confronted me with a condescending tone about my bag. If she had taken the time to be polite and explain the policy in a respectful way, I would’ve had no problem saying, “Okay, I’ll lock it up next time.” But instead, her attitude was completely off-putting and unnecessary.
This is not the type of behavior I expect from staff at a gym that promotes itself as a “Judgement Free Zone.” When someone comes at a customer like that, it usually says more about how unhappy they are in their own role than anything else. The fact that this kind of energy is being tolerated at this location is disappointing.
She’s not even a manager—just cleaning staff—so to be talked down to like that for something so minor was completely uncalled for. She ruined my workout, and honestly, my entire experience at this location. anyone who acts like this is just unhappy with themselves and unhappy with their job. She’s just a bit old woman.
I’ll be taking my business to a different Planet Fitness where professionalism and respect are actually practiced. If you’re thinking about joining this specific location, just be aware of the kind of staff you might run into.
oh, and I just checked out all the other reviews and it’s the same complaint that people are having about this one woman that she is excessively rude obviously there’s too many complaints about her. You guys need to cut her loose. This is ridiculous!

This is the only Planet Fitness I’ve had a consistently bad experience with (and I’ve never felt the need to leave a review anywhere until now). I don’t want to throw shade at the regular staff—they’re generally very kind and welcoming.
That being said, the older woman who manages the location has been extremely difficult to deal with. She seems unfamiliar with the computer system and is consistently passive-aggressive both in person and over the phone. Every interaction I’ve had with her has felt like she’s on a power trip, even when I’m just trying to ask for help.
I’ve had repeated issues with my account through the app, and trying to get help has been frustrating. I rarely get a call back, and when I finally do speak with her, she’s dismissive and unhelpful. Ironically, a younger male staff member who wasn’t even familiar with my issue was way more polite, patient, and accommodating than she was. It’s honestly a shame that someone with such poor customer service is in charge.
I don’t expect her to know everything, but the way I’ve been treated by this manager over the last few months has been extremely unprofessional and just plain odd. I’ve never experienced anything like this at any other gym—Planet Fitness or otherwise.
At this point, I’m just trying to switch to a different home gym and move on from the issues here. 🙏

I always have a great experience at Planet Fitness, and a big part of that is thanks to Joey! They’re always welcoming, helpful, and professional. Whether it’s keeping the gym clean, assisting with equipment, or just offering a friendly smile, they go above and beyond to make members feel comfortable and supported. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a gym, thanks to the woman in the black shirt. Instead of calmly addressing a phone policy issue like any professional would, she stormed up to me, got in my face, and started yelling. There was absolutely no reason for that level of aggression. I told her to get away from me, and yes, I was blunt but only because she came at me with unnecessary hostility first.
What makes it worse is how she escalated the situation by threatening to call the police and cancel my membership. Over what? Being on my phone? That’s not professionalism that’s power-tripping. If the policy requires members to step into the lobby to use their phones, then say that. There’s a respectful way to do your job, and this wasn't it. What’s even more disappointing is that other staff members, especially those in the early mornings wearing purple shirts, have always been polite, helpful, and respectful. Clearly, this staff member missed that memo. Her behavior was immature, aggressive, and completely uncalled for.
Planet Fitness should seriously reconsider who they let represent their brand. Enforcing rules is one thing trying to intimidate members and create conflict is another. If this is the kind of behavior Planet Fitness allows from their staff, it says a lot about the management’s standards. Absolutely unacceptable.

Whoever the female manager is at this gym needs to be re-educated on how to approach people, because I come here every summer and I've never had any issues with management up until now. She comes off as very rude and unpersonable. I have heard other members complain of her rude behavior as well. Upper management, do better in disciplining your personnel! Equipment could be newer, and men's locker room is decently kept. Aside from the manager, the associates are great. Always greet me as I come in and as I leave. I come in the mornings and evenings. Not enough credit for the little people working the front desk - the real ones helping make the gym a safe space to workout.

I have been going to this gym for a couple years. Unfortunately, today, the manager took issue with my breathing. I was exercising-heavy breathing is normal. I was told to slow my breathing. This was unsolicited medical advice and goes against the Planet Fitness agreement terms. I hope that Planet fitness will cancel my membership and refund my annual and monthly fees.

The front desk people are the most pleasant part of the experience however I noticed that I see the same few people working every day. It’s very sad to see young people overworked like this. Anyways the gym is a decent size and it’s clean but the music is so sucky they play the worst music possible. Don’t forget your headphones if you decide to come here. And whoever the upper management is, hire more employees and fix your machines!!! My god. They expect you to pay $30 to enroll on top of a monthly on top of an annual fee but the machines are always down. Corporate greed at its finest. Deplorable.

Not good experience at all. Their membership cancel policy is worst, they don't allow to cancel membership on call, they don't keep option to cancel membership on PF app, they don't have authorized people to cancel policy all the time, only particular time their management will be available. I have written notice to cancel my membership and asked their management to call me back, waited for more than a month with no call. I wasted my money because of their worst policy. Also after cancelling policy, still they deducted monthly fees...again with policy reason. Not good at all

Good facility - 99% of equipment in good working condition; can occasionally get warm and then I use the built in fans in each of the cardio machines (eg stairmaster). Wish the recovery rooms / massage chairs provided more options - think they have only two hydro chairs for now while they renovate.

It's a planet fitness, so standards are pretty low. For the most part its pretty decent, not too much of a crowd even during after work rush (5pm). Just don't expect too much, and clean before using any equipment and u should be fine.

Staff is friendly and keep to themselves for the most part. The low ceilings kinda throw me off a bit. Also, it’s dumb they don’t keep the trash cans and the paper towels and clean bottle together. Inconvenient. The main reason for the 3 stars is because they have the awful Matrix machines for everything. I despise their equipment. It’s like the great value brand and everything feels off about their equipment. So if you’re like me and don’t like the Matrix brand stuff. This is your warning lol other than the equipment. The gym is great and clean.

My second time coming here. I'm a black card member and travel a lot. Today I was actually purchasing an energy drink and a protein drink. I asked the gentleman at the counter if he needed my card. He said no so you don't go over your 10 visit limit. I actually never knew that the black card had a limit at other planet fitness, so it was nice to know that information. I just felt some type of way of how he said it. First and foremost I'm a 55 year old man and should be accorded some level of respect. Also given the fact I'm spending money versus just using the facilities. Needless to say I will never return to this planet fitness even when I'm in the area. I will find another and I don't care how far the distance will be. This young man needs to learn a bit of etiquette.

I have even see staff workout and not bother to put stuff away or wipe things down. I will add the manager is present and there is a tall blonde guy on staff that is always working hard. I renewed my membership in January but didn’t use the gym so often.
They “forced” the monthly recurring payments by bank ACH which is fine but then later they also charged me a late fee for 3 months on my credit card on file becoz I had not switched to ACH upon renewal in January. So they charged me the monthly fee + late fee with my credit card becoz it was not paid by bank ACH. Go figure !
When I noticed it in May and spoke to the manager on duty regarding this issue to waive the late fee, she said she tried to contact the franchise ownership but apparently no one responded.

Unfortunately the other reviews are right, really rather rude employees at the counter. I asked about a getting a membership and was told “give me your bank account number” like most gyms offer to show you around but I guess they just don’t do that here, they just demand payment pronto! It was also packed to the point where every machine was taken… I’m going to look for a different gym out of town…

Staff are friendly and the machines are great. There's a few issues though:
- The fact that they dont provide towels for the shower like most other gyms do, so you have to bring your own. It's enough having to carry a change of clothes with me but I'm not carrying around a towel too.
- The AC. It's too damn hot in there. The Princeton location has much better AC.

During this time you can only run on few treadmills located underneath fans. I think the management is greedy and wants to cut the cost by advising employees to turn off the AC. Employees are very friendly and equipment is clean. But they do not turn the AC on, making it extremely humid and hard to breathe. There is no ventilation in the gym. When you see all of the front doors propped open, you know that it’s going to be humid, hot, and musty inside — making it difficult to workout (especially because the workout equipment is not even near the doors). This has been an issue last summer as well, which can be seen in other reviews. Last summer when it was like this, I almost passed out during my workout. It felt hotter inside the gym than it was outside where it was 85 degrees. For a gym that has so many customers and has recently raised prices, it’s disheartening to know they don’t care enough to turn on the AC especially being that this is a gym.

I have no complaints about this gym other than the temperatures. It is always freezing in the gym no matter if it is hot or cold outside. We have expressed this before and the employees said the manager is aware but does nothing about it. The back room is especially an ice box literally last night i had to step back out after I started exercising because i could not take the cold, because it felt like 20 degrees in there. I am someone who easily gets hot and easily sweats no reason why i should be rubbing my hands together to warm them up inside a gym.

If you're thinking of signing up for this gym, then I can not stress enough to CHECK YOUR CONTRACT.
I was looking to sign up for a month by month membership, no commitment, as was listed on the website. Was told I would be paying month to month, with no mention of an annual commitment. Only realized when I tried to cancel a month later, to relocate for family reasons. I was told I needed to pay a buyout fee of $58 plus tax to end my membership, despite only going 3 times to the facilities and only having been a member for a month.
Very deceptive business practice. Watch out if you're looking to sign up!!

I hate to give 1 star because most of the staff here is so pleasant and polite. However, my experience with this one staff member has been so disgraceful that I need to give a one star for the fact this behavior from her is still being tolerated. I believe her name is “blue” (african american, short, braids to describe her). I see that a lot of other members have also complained about her in reviews. She has been rude to me on several occasions. To the point where I actually had to leave before I started my workout because I felt so uncomfortable by her and her behaviors. She seems to have problems with my check-in process, even though I come in several times a week and have a black card. I have been nothing but kind and patient with her, and she still insists on acting horrible to me (and many other members) and letting me know she does not value us here as her customers. I never have any issues with any other staff, as they scan me in and are nothing but kind. However, blue has ruined the entire livelihood of this gym and it’s disappointing. I hope this can be addressed before she ruins someone else’s experience. This is not okay to continue happening, she should absolutely not be allowed a position here with the way she treats the customers.

UPDATE: the AC issue was fixed promptly, and most of my experiences since have been positive. However, there has been a recent trend of the alarm being blared excessively before closing. I understand this when the gym is officially closed, as well as lighter alarms 15 and 5 mins prior to close. However, recent frequency and intensity is very disruptive to people’s workouts, especially since it sometimes starts half an hour before close. That is half of most people’s workout time. On a separate note, I would like to emphasize how great it would be for this location to be 24/7. Most PFs are.

Staff: Friendly and professional.
Equipment: Very clean. Some equipment is broken and in need of replacement/updating. It might also be worthwhile gauging how many people use each specific equipment since some areas are not used as much as others.
Facilities: Very clean but it has been very hot in there. Should look into fixing A/C.
Finally, many other PFs are 24/7. It would be great if this one were changed to a 24/7 format, since it would distribute the crowd a bit and let people get to the equipment they need in a more timely manner. Not being 24/7 is also inconvenient on weekends with the 8pm closing time.

Friendly staff, not too crowded.
However some equipment is showing its age, frayed seats, frayed cable covers effecting the weight machines.
1)Good if you are into free weights and bench presses.
2)They have a good number of treadmills, exercise bikes if you are into cardio.
3)Low noise. Some gyms can be really full of clunks, yells, grips and other stuff.

The staff is so wonderful especially Shai, she gave me and a few folks an orientation tour. This place is the only one so far that has these types of treadmills and automatic stairs. They have classes and I like the Ab Room. They have the one that you hold the sides and swing your legs up. I normally come to this gym straight after work.

I’ve been to several great Planet Fitness locations, and came here after starting a job in the area. This location fits evey stereotype of PF being broken down and cheap. To start, the smell of BO hits you like a bus when you first walk in. The first two treadmills I tried were wobbly to the point of danger. But the worst part was the fact that they don’t have air conditioning. When I asked about the a/c, they said it has been broken for months. Save your time and find a different gym.

Staff is great. Never have an issue with any staff and it is the cleanest gym in the world BUT it is unbearably humid at times to the point that i rather figure out how to work out at home or outdoors bc I need air. Just keep AC on :) please.
Lastly, the hours : this is an area filled with schools, daycares, businesses and offices which means everyone works or does something during the day. Staying open alittle later for those that can’t squeeze it in during the day bc they work & have kids would be a great advantage to everyone. Staying open alittle later : at least 12 am will go along way for a lot of clients.

I enjoy the gym but now that it's summertime I must deal with the free season for school kids who hog stations while playing with their phones. It's bad enough when adults do it but the kids are the worst. Never wiping down the equipment and phone play. Equipment needs repair, I've offered to do it but get funny looks.

My wife and I have been members for over 6 years but unless there are some changes, we will be forced to cancel our membership. The good points are the staff is nice and the place is always clean (3 out of 3 Stars are for them). The problems are, for one, it it always hot and humid in the gym making it unbearable to work-out and also causes an ungodly odor to slap you in the face as you walk through the doors. Not sure why the gym doors are left open during the summer when there should be an air conditioner running. The second issue is the gym closes at 10pm during the week, even earlier on the weekends. And to top it off, they have an annoying alert blasting from 30 minutes before closing, warning you to hurry up and get out before they lock you in. Anyway, 10pm is totally unacceptable. I had to join Retro Fitness to be able to get my work out in if I can't reach Planet Fitness by 9pm. At least they are open until 11pm..... I had to get a back up gym and pay another monthly fee due to Planet Fitness's hours...how crazy is that?

Overall decent clean gym, but the equipment isn’t great. I’m not sure why they have a different style of machines than the other PF’s I go to but this could definitely be improved. Also, please get another fly/rear delt machine. One is not enough for a gym this size.

I feel compelled to share my honest feedback about this gym's disappointing customer service. In particular, one of the front desk workers, described as a short, heavy-set female with long artificial braids, displaying unprofessional and rude behavior.
I observed instances of rudeness and condescension towards customers, both in person and over the phone. Waiting at the front desk often went unnoticed while this employee engaged in unrelated tasks, such as personal conversations, on the computer or phone without showing any acknowledgement to customers. Additionally, gossiping about members and loud discussions of personal matters occurred at the front desk.
It is concerning that the gym would retain an employee with such behavior, reflecting poorly on their reputation which is why I cannot recommend this gym to others.
I hope the management takes these concerns seriously and addresses the ongoing issues with customer service for an improved experience for all members.

My interactions with them were brief, and I felt they lacked the friendly and supportive attitude that I would expect in a customer service role. I would even go so far as to say I feel they were downright rude. This lack of professionalism is unacceptable in a customer service role and greatly detracted from the positive experience I expected at this gym.
It is worth mentioning that this is solely my opinion based on my personal experience. Others may have had different encounters and formed alternative impressions of this front desk staff member.
I believe it is important for a gym to create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for all members. In my opinion, this includes ensuring all members of the front desk staff display professionalism, friendliness, and a genuine willingness to assist gym-goers.
As a result of this negative encounter, I feel compelled to discourage others from visiting this gym and cannot recommend it based on my experience with this staff member’s unprofessional conduct. It is crucial for a gym to foster an environment where members feel valued, respected, and supported. Unfortunately, my encounter with said staff member had the opposite effect, leaving me with a sense of discomfort and dissatisfaction.
I sincerely hope that Planet Fitness will address this issue promptly and take appropriate action to rectify the behavior of this member of the front desk staff. Upholding high standards of customer service is essential to ensure a positive gym experience for all visitors.

Canceled in 2018 when I moved out of the area. I have emails to prove it. Just noticed they charged my card 40$ in MARCH 2023, so I went searching and I found a "welcome to PF Plainsboro email in my inbox from 2019. I never signed up again. they have been charging me for YEARS after canceling, and they better be ready to explain.

Manager clearly doesn't care about issues, called to find out why my card wasn't charged for a month and then got a late fee FROM A YEAR AGO because of it. i was told by an employee the manager had to talk to me about it and they would call me back, after 3 days of not hearing anything i called back and of course the manager wasnt there again so i have to wait another week now until they come in to hopefully take my call and fix this issue.

Completely disgusted by a staff member. The employee's name was BLUE (in order to recognize her to whoever is reading this, she is an african american female with dreads). She was very rude with fired-up anger issues as she approached me. I respectfully tried to explain to her that the other employees were not as rude as her but she continued to act the way she wanted to. Did not follow business etiquette and should not be allowed to work the front desk, especially with that attitude. She will try to kick everyone out at 9:50pm and laugh at you until you don't leave especially if you are on a treadmill or a cardio machine. Mind you the place closes at 10pm, so what her problem is no one will ever be able to understand. It has happened to multiple customers, that I've seen and it has happened to me as well. I definitely will stop coming here if I continue to see her here, she is setting up a bad reputation for such a good gym. The other staff members were extremely nice, so it's a disappointment that she has to ruin it.

Horrible Staff!! especially that African American female, skinny, and has braids, claimed her name was BLUEE but not sure if it’s her because she’s wearing someone else’s tag on the job and won’t let me see her name tag that she’s wearing. Called her “manager” named Tyler, so Tyler if you’re looking at this you should train your staff better. Bluee was very rude, started making fun of us as we’re walking out the door, using inappropriate language and have VERY NASTY ATTITUDES! DUNNO HOW SHE GOT HIRED BUT WITH THAT ATTITUDE SHE AINT GOING NOWHERE! Very unprofessional and don’t make the experience here at Planet Fitness

Would love to know if the owner is a different person from the manager. Owner posts great responses on here to peoples issues. But the manager has no cares in the world about complaints and is completely rude. Encourages staff members lazy behavior. This is bottom of the barrel compared to any other planet fitness and then definitely do bare minimum just to run the place. I would love to know how to speak to the owner as management is a lost cause here. They make the planet fitness brand look bad.

Was sweet talked into thinking that it was a one month subscription but was actually 25 days and furthermore when I canceled it I kept getting charged on my card I had to literally pay Bank of America for you $30 which is the cost of a membership just about just to cancel the subscription and they told me the plan of business does this at all the location because Mohammad Adbhan is not coming
