Hopefully this serves as a lesson for the employee and for the community. I picked up my wife, and the employee followed her outside. While I was in my vehicle I observed when he confronted and accused her of stealing a chocolate bar in front of other people. This was incredibly embarrassing for both of us. I believe we live in a decent community, and if someone truly suspects wrongdoing, they need to be absolutely certain before confronting or accusing anyone. Definitely he made our day very unpleasant and I asked myself why he did that? I feel that was unfair and disrespectful.

Very disappointed with Planet Fitness. I checked the website before coming, and it clearly stated that the gym is open until 12:00. However, when I arrived, the location was already closed. There was no notice on the door, no update online, and no explanation. I wasted my time and the trip for nothing. This is very unprofessional. I do wish it was a little more spacious and had a couple of the newer machines/more cables though. First of all, a huge shout out to Nicco. I was browsing gyms and my last stop was planet fitness . Nicco gave me the tour and he was absolutely wonderful. He did not rush through it , took his time , and explained everything to me in detail . I was blown away. Not just by how nice and clean the gym was , but by niccos professionalism and passion . You can always tell when someone loves their job. The gym has done a lot of remodeling since the last time I joined. I was very impressed .
By the end of the tour, nicco didnt push me to sign up right away. Which I really liked . I thanked him and casually told him that im signing up tonight and that I will see him tommorow. Thank you nicco for getting me into my new gym !!

I had a membership about 4-5 years ago - the equipment needed updating, the layout was cluttered and the help was scarce. Just rejoined - it's like a different gym with state of the art equipment and the staff couldn't be more helpful. The manager who helped me (on a Saturday morning) went the extra mile to straighten out a glitch I encountered trying to sign up on line. The front desk staff all are pleasant and courteous. Closing in on 2 years as a member. Np huge issues , 2 small ones. Only one ab machine ,tough to get on it, and sometimes music is too loud . I think everybody I see has some sort of ear bud, headphones ect. Only thing I'm comfortable with is over the ear buds. Sometimes hard to hear . Other thing is machines stay broken a long time, but I get it , lot of $$ to come out until a lot are down .

The gym has seen a major upgrade in quality and care since its renovation and managerial changes. The part that sticks out to me the most though is the employee named Mike C. he is incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and conversational. Weird layout. Feels like all the machines are crammed together. There are a few cardio machines close to the entrance, but most of them are upstairs.

There’s only one changing room but still the normal four showers. Doesn’t make sense, and you could get stuck waiting on people if it’s busy. The showers are pretty small. The changing room is spacious and actually has a full-length mirror.

I wanted to add an edit to my review below. I wrote this about a year ago, and since then, I’ve been even more impressed with the staff here. That includes, but isn’t limited to Mike, Christian, Nico, Dani, Jada, Khalil and Amanda. I go to this Planet Fitness every morning, Monday through Friday. I felt the need to include the actual names of the people who make this place something special. More than a gym. We are all on a first name basis now and that’s just the beginning. It’s such a nice thing, in 2025, to be able to connect with people with outstanding knowledge and customer service. This team has created an environment that is open, friendly, supportive and welcoming. I love coming here every morning. It’s like going to work out at a gym that your friends manage. What an incredible experience. I’ve gone to gyms my entire life and I’m 47. Not once have I ever felt more comfortable and relaxed and welcomed than I do at Planet Fitness. Just wanted to thank the owners but also wanted to thank the staff who help make even the toughest of mornings possible. What a phenomenal team. Wished they worked for me! That said, I don’t really need to wish. I feel as though they are working to help make my every day experience better during a time where it seems as though the world needs it more than ever.

So, I’ve been going to PF here for a few months. Yesterday, I came across a T Shirt from my Penn State Fraternity Days. It was an event from 1998. 24 years ago. I said, “No way this fits me “ and 3 months ago I would have been right, that said, with the help of Olivia, Jarod and Dave, who always welcome me with a smile, refer to me by my first name, and it’s like they’ve memorized my routine. I recently upgraded to the Black Card and use the massage chairs first, and then after my workout I use the Hydro Massage Chair. Highly recommend! I’m not young anymore, I’m 46, I’ve had two back surgeries in the last 6 years and I depend on both of those massage chairs to mitigate pain, that said, yesterday I tried on my shirt from 98 and it fit. Actually it was a little loose on me! Olivia, Jarod and Dave were super supportive of something I thought just meant something to me. It was pretty cool to be celebrated by these guys ( and gal ) and I’d recommend this location to anyone! Thanks guys. You really motivate me and I appreciate the warm welcome, the personalized treatment and the support I get from the entire staff. Thank you, 🤘🏻🤘🏻

I've been to a few Planet Fitness locations, the Pomptom Lakes location is by far the best location yet! The staff are so professional and helpful. It's a planet fitness, most of the 24/7 ones in North Jersey have greedy owners(look at the hours and machines).

This is a VERY high volume store with as much equipment as a low volume store.

This is supposed to be a place for me to work out but the owners prefer you not come around so they just get paid. That's why they let it be absolute chaos.

Come to this gym 8AM-2PM if you wanna listen to 50-60+ year old people try to use their cell phone in the gym to sound important(go back to your Zumba classes.) Maybe even listen to the cackling loud old men as they have cheerful conversations and ruin your set while they laugh and look at you.

If that doesn't sound good, stop by anytime after 3PM if you wanna try to fight to use what little machines they have with actual children. Maybe go to Wayne location to actually fight the kids though, it seems acceptable over there.

New Jersey is absolute hell when it comes to planet fitness, partially just from the residents here. It's like they wanna pretend to be Malibu when they're on the strip of concrete coming straight out of New York City.

I have been a member for a very long time and in the morning, Mike is the best! He greets everyone with a smile and a friendly hello and is always ready to go over and beyond to help you! And also when you’re leaving he never fails to say have a great day! They also keep a very clean environment there which is awesome⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I absolutely love coming in to Planet Fitness Pompton Lakes. Registration was super easy, the facilities are clean, and the staff is great. Mike is always there to help and encourage me before my workout. It’s a great local gym and I’m looking forward to getting back in shape here.

Broken machines that stay inoperative for weeks at a time. Members who don’t wipe down the machines when they’re done. Rude staff behind the desk. General manager who doesn’t return calls. Sketchy billing practices.

Just want to say that I really enjoy having a gym so close that I can walk to. There’s plenty of equipment and machines so not a lot of waiting. Kristen at the front desk is super friendly and helpful! The only thing I would suggest is more areas with mirrors for free weights. The main area downstairs is always pretty crowded and upstairs all the mirrored areas have machines in front of them.

No CNBC or any other financial news at your Pompton Lakes location. All TVs feature Food Network and liberal media. Every other Planet Fitness location has financial news and a well-balanced choice of media to choose from when working on cardio machines. Who the hell wants to work out to The View?
