Decent variety of machines, but not enough attachments & the ones they have are trash. Speaking of trash, this place always has it all over the floor. No one puts their equipment away & you have to step over it or go searching if you want to use certain items. Also this place is frequented by numerous men who seem to have no concept of deodorant, which means you'll be breathing in their stench during reps because the company does nothing about it. Cheapest workout in town but go somewhere else if you want a better experience.

This a larger planet fitness compared to others I frequent in the central Jersey area. There are plenty of free weights and benches but of course could always be a couple of more. I like the aerobic area in the back and the machines strategically placed where creeps can’t stare at you. The staff is generally okay but some are better than others in regards to cleanliness. Some workers rarely leave their perch behind the counter (on their phones of course); while others are always cleaning or replenishing wipes spray bottles and cleaning etc. Maybe overall PF can find a way to get people to not sit in machines and watch videos or talk on their phones! Plenty of cardio machines and one is always available. Machines are rarely broken and are fixed quickly. Not sure why PF overall doesn’t retail sell power /protein bars etc as well as powders and more kinds of health drinks. I believe this would be quite lucrative. Overall this is one of the better PFs I have visited.

Never got sent a reminder email for the annual fee, which actually gets charged like 3 months AFTER you've been a member for a year, so you have time to really forget about it. Tried to cancel my membership the day after I was charged (the annual fee) and was told they can't refund it. Couldn't cancel my membership over the phone, have to show up in person. They make it nearly impossible to cancel and don't remind you of account charges - that's how they get your money.

The incline on many of the treadmills would constantly get stuck in an upright position, so you would have to change treadmills in the middle of a workout because you couldn't reduce the incline.

Horrible customer service. So unfortunate. Had a billing issue with fraudulent charges - Someone else was charging their membership on my account.. Took it to the regional manager Shawn and district manager Alex, and they did nothing to help. Marshall was great and responsive- hope he gets out working for evil before it’s too late. I agree with Vincent kim’s review they are useless. I can say that because I’ve owned and consulted for many gyms. Don’t support one world fitness and private equity ….support your local gym and studio owners

If it was not for the music playing so loud, it doesn't matter if you bring headphones, it would be a 5. However, it seems like whoever is working picks the volume of the music and even if they do turn it down it’s still SO loud no point in putting on headphones.

I bought a pass for myself and my gf and we’ve been going but sadly we will likely have to leave for a different gym due to this locations needs to play music so very loud.

I am a new member at Planet Fitness, Princeton. My first monthly membership dues didn't go through on my credit card and they charged me a late fee. I called the gym yesterday and went over all the numbers again and the person I talked to couldn't give me a reason for the card not going through. He said he would have the manager call me today. No call. I called back this afternoon and spoke with Victor and he said he couldn't help me either and said his manager had been very busy. He told me to come in person tomorrow to talk to the manager. The manager better help me tomorrow or I will cancel this new membership. I'm not paying for a gym with crappy customer service.

Update: 4/25/25. I went into the club today and was told by the manager (Marshall) that my account is processing through now but he wouldn't remove the $15 late fee. Is it worth it to piss off customers to collect a $15 late fee when it isn't the customer's fault. My first impression is that PFP doesn't care about their customers or customer service. I'm most likely going to cancel my membership. It shouldn't take three phone calls and an in person visit to work out a billing problem.

UPDATE: A year later and sooooooo many broken machines (for weeks on end). It's frustrating to not be able to get on one of the many elliptical trainers because they're all broken, off balance or out of order. It's been weeks. I just wanna get my sweat on!

Everything is brand new, spacious, CLEAN, friendly staff, tanning booths and recovery pods. 60(!) treadmills and a slew of ellipticals and stair climbers. The facility is awesome!
Hope it stays nice!!

The day to day staff there is awesome they’re so friendly and hardworking always cleaning! My issue is definitely more with who appear to be upper managers regional and above. I see them in the back on the couches looking like they’re ready to go to the beach and playing on their phone all day. While their probably minimum wage employees are over run sometimes with customers, these guys just enjoying their coffee in the back. Lead by example smh.

Worst management service possible. Their app was bugging out and charged my credit card and everything was fine for months and all of a sudden I get hit a with a late fee. And when I try to ask for a refund since they’ve had access to my payments as well as nothing being wrong with my card for months and not a single worker telling me there has been an issue, the manager gave me a rude monotone voice saying they’re not giving me a refund because “your card is the problem” and kept repeating it even though I explained how it couldn’t possibly be my card being the issue. Worst service ever and even worse gym.

Due to my job, I have to travel a lot, and believe me, this is by far the best gym I’ve ever visited. The facilities are spotless, the service is outstanding, and the equipment is top-of-the-line. The gym is spacious, and despite the large number of people, there are far more machines available than in other Planet Fitness locations I’ve been to. Congratulations to the entire team!

I travel around the NJ area so being a Black Card member is usually convenient to find a PF location nearby. Most locations are well run, kept clean and equipment problems are minimal. Others still aren’t so well run, machines out of service, dirty locker rooms and selective tv audio blackouts. Stay away from midafternoons when local schools are dismissed. The students will take over machines in clusters and loiter. Not sure why PF doesn’t police this better. The better locations usually have a motivated staff that are always cleaning, repairing and servicing customers. The other locs have staff that stand at the front desk on their phones and could care less about dusting or cleaning. Pick your locations and you’ll be happy.

I'll start with my negative. I have been going consistently at 5ish am to work out. My friend and I both have NOT enjoyed the luke warm showers. If the temperature is something that can be adjusted in the morning, this place would be perfect.

EVERYTHING ELSE IS GREAT. I've worked out during afternoon times on weekends as well as mornings and the staff are so nice, patient and helpful. My friend and I both love our morning staff. Josh is great!

The facility is so clean and bright and the extras (hybrid tanning, massage chairs, etc) are also clean and convenient. I've visited 5 other locations and this one, by far, is the best.

Turn up the heater and this is a 5 star location:)

The club is clean and well maintained. The assortment of equipment is generally a good match for the demands of the membership. Occasionally I'll have to wait for a machine while another member hogs it for 10 mins, doing an occasional rep while mostly staring at their phone, but this isn't a huge problem. The staff is outgoing and pleasant. The machines are almost always in good shape: when when is "temporarily out of order" it seems to be generally addressed in just a few days. I generally to my home PF location every day, first thing in the morning. At 6am or 6:30, there are enough folks there for it to be "alive" but not crowded. That's ideal for me. With very few exceptions, I can work my way from the treadmill through the machines I like in an hour or so, and I come away feeling that I've had a really good start to my day. Very positive experience overall. I'm not a fan of the music over the loudspeakers, but like so many others at PF, I wear noise cancelling headphones (most wear buds), and listen to my own music. So that's fine. Overall - truly happy the place is here. I have a black membership, so I can check in at other locations, e.g., when I have to travel for work. Solid 10 for me.

I had to unfortunately give a 3 when I joined which was about 5 months ago i walked into the ladies room first thing i wanted to do was weigh myself well the scale was broke, some equipment is broke as well and most of all the tvs are broke the channels are messed up w the voices to the treadmills and some channels don’t work at all nothing has been fixed, if these things get fixed I’d have no problem giving a 5! Can’t let it go because it will be too much and go down hill. And I have been a member at other planet fitnesses as well! Never had this problem.

Cancellation policy is not customer friendly. One can sign up online easily but for cancellation they want one to come to the club and give a hand written letter with signatures. When you don't need physical sign to open an account why you need it to cancel. Totally not user friendly. In this digital agem they are making it tough for users to cancel. I was thinking of going back next year but now won't be.

Not all Planet Fitness gyms are made equal and that’s why I choose to drive 15 minutes instead of just 5 minutes to the closer PF. I love PF Princeton. But recent sad news about a Planet Fitness franchise has made me value the Princeton PF even more. In addition to being cheerful, and friendly, and responsive, Anthony and his team do a stand up job maintaining the gym. I see them consistently cleaning and checking each machine and checking all the rooms before closing. Great job! I appreciate you guys! Oh, I also appreciate that the franchise owner added one more pec fly/rear delt machine so people don’t need to wait for it so much. Thank you to you, too!

She is rude, does not greet people, barely speaks and appears to always have an attitude every time I have dealt with her to use the amenities. I’ve been a member of several gyms over the years, but the experience at this brand new Planet Fitness has been exceptional. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the professionalism and operational excellence of the entire team.

I love this gym, unfortunately I have attempted to resolve a billing issue no less than a half a dozen times and have not received the courtesy of a return call or email to resolve an automatic billing issue that is no fault of my own. Will update this post when I hear from the manager and/or regional manager.

Update, as of late April, attempted resolution for 7th time, a very helpful employee named Anthony contacted 3td party billing company and indicated an error and that 15 dollar fee would be credited back to my card. Unfortunately, I never received the credit as of May 7 th. Social media message team unable to assist.

Update: Regional Manager called and billing issue resolved to my satisfaction. Long journey to get help but in the end it all worked out.

UPDATING MY REVIEW: I would like to know what do they use in the spray bottles bc they don't smell like cleaning agent. When we spray in the machines to wipe, they behave like pure water. If we spray water in the machines to clean before and after the exercise, we're just spreading our and other's sweat in the surfaces. Could we have a good smelling cleaning in the spray bottles, please? At Plainsboro, where I usually go, their sprays have cleaning agent and I feel much more comfortable with that.

First impression is positive!!! The area is huge and machines are brand new!!! Another positive point is the lockers are built in a way that we have multiple seats to change clothes and showers have doors (better than the curtains) with a closed discreet area with doors to get dressed just in front of the showers! I was missing this improvement at Plainsboro, since we don't have anywhere to put our clothes to get dressed and we have to go back to the open area of the lockers to do that. First impression gets 5 stars!!!!!

I have been a member of many gyms and planet fitness meets all of my needs.

It has a good vibe and my wife is comfortable. There is a more balanced men to women ratio so many other women are also comfortable.

The equipment is clean and maintained.

I usually go in the morning (8 -- 10) and have never seen a crowd. I like the circuit training room because I can go through a basic routine quickly.

The gym does not have a pool, hot tub, sauna, group training, or steam room. I occasionally used my old gyms pool. Planet Fitness has tanning rooms, a marvelous hydro massage chair, and a "red light" booth. I don't use the tanning booth.

Pricing currently is 10 basic and 25 premium. My last gym was 60/month.

The rating is actually closer to 3.5 but rounding up.

Pros: It is in a good location. I did see some machines here that aren't at some of the other PFs I have been in. It's also relatively quiet, even when I came during the afternoon. It could be that not many people have discovered it yet or that Hamilton and Robbinsville still has the monopoly. In any event, I think there is room for all of them.

Cons: For a new gym, there are too many machines that are out of order (I saw at least 4). Hopefully that gets fixed before their grand opening. Also, I was hoping that the lockers would have the lock attached so I was taken aback a little that these required your own lock 🔐. Also, I had to sign in, which I have never done upon entering any PF location. The fact that I am black card is usually enough. Yet, the representative assumed that because my home gym is in PA that I was a resident of PA. I have lived in NJ for 21 years now yet NJ never went back to 24 hour gym access after the 'demic. By contrast there are some days at the PA locations that are 24-7. I like working out prior to 5 am on weekdays; hence where making my home gym in PA.

I am not saying this is going to deter a revisit. Just was strange I was here on 2/9 (Friday) and I wasn't made to sign in.

Joined PF online late last week and went to the Nassau Park location for the first time this evening. First impression was that it was a larger space, seemed very clean and new.

The rest of my visit was terrible and a very stressful experience. First off, there is no one on the staff that is knowledgeable about how to program or to properly and safely use the equipment. I had asked a staff member to show me how to program the elliptical machines and got no real help. He said that he was new and did not know how to use the equipment. The machine kept counting down after 5 minutes of use and the resistance, even on Level 1 seemed to feel overexerting. The staff member went to speak with his manager and came back about 8 minutes later, apologized and said "that's just the way the machines work, they are not very user friendly." After stopping and restarting my workout 3 times to try to get my full workout in, I gave up on the machine. I really just wanted to program the machine to do some cardio for 30-35 minutes but that was not an option. I tried a few other pieces of equipment and did not have much success with those either. I spoke with the manager myself, and he seemed to care less. I think he was at the end of his shift. He told me that the location did not yet have a trainer on the floor but they were looking for one. For a new location, this should have been a requirement Day 1 period. New members and first timers should receive a tour and demonstration of the equipment to ensure their safety.

I then decided to use the Tanning Booth. Didn't receive much guidance there either. After scanning in and answering the questionnaire, I was asked for my ID and had to run back to the locker room. After some time had passed, I asked the staff member to ensure me that the tanning booth was not already counting down. She said No. I went into the tanning booth and it was already running so by the time I got prepared and put lotion on, I had lost half my session time. Apparently I was supposed to tell the staff member to allow me time to get ready, but there was no instructions given prior on how to use the booth either. Upon exiting the booth, someone had gone right in. There was no staff present to clean before the next person.

It was an awful first experience and overall first impression. I was going to leave my current gym, but I will be staying there and using PF for the amenities only for the time being. PF really needs to staff up at this location (there were literally 3 staff members covering the entire gym during peak hours). The staff needs to be fully trained and ready to assist guests when necessary. Also, you need stations with sanitizing wet wipes to clean machines, not a bottle of spray and paper towels!

Planet Fitness opened a new location in Princeton. Located in West Windsor, the Princeton location is conveniently located minutes away from the Princeton Junction Train Station, Whole Foods , Trader Joe’s , and Shop Rite. So try to squeeze in a workout on one of your grocery store trips.

Love the new gym setup and machine variety! Clean, bright, and very spacious. However, the "new" smell is EXTREMELY strong from the moment you walk in. Like borderline choking on air. I audibly cursed when I opened the inner doors. Imagine walking into a house that had every room (ceilings included) double-coat repainted 3 hours ago with all the windows/doors closed since the painting began. I would've left to go to another location if there was time. Of course I understand to an extent as everything in there is brand new, but I would've hoped there would be more/better ventilation prior to opening to the public - at least run the fans a bit to circulate the air (they were not on). I also understand that it's winter so it may not be as easy to ventilate a building but, please.......do something. If anything I feel bad for the employees who are there for hours on end because there is no way that inhaling those fumes for that long is good for anyone.

I know this description might seem like an exaggeration but I promise it's not. I just REALLY need to make it clear how sickeningly strong that smell is. It's a chemical smell as opposed to a trash or sewer-type stench.

I hope the staff sees this and can help mitigate the issue. I will absolutely be back to this location and regularly, but not at least for a week to give the smell time to dissipate. Fingers crossed that is enough time. I'll happily change my rating to 5 stars if it is better by then as the smell is the only reason I gave it 4.
