I tried to go tanning in one of the standup Booths. And There was a person using it when I signed up for It. When they got done and walked out, I asked the Planet fitness worker to clean the booth because it was disgusting with hair and crap all in it and he said it’s not his job so I had to do it myself before I used it. It was Saturday at 3:45 PM on November 22, 2025 I will not be using this gym again for Tanning complete disgusting. And lack of enthusiasm and a place they work in. Unprofessional And Unsanitary. They should definitely address it

Location, treadmills, and a wide selection of weights. Though sometimes crowded, you can always find a way to get a workout done. Friendly staff and a very up-to-date spa area. When this gym is empty, it's terrific. Shrewsbury and Toms River are very similar setups.

As I walked in for my first time I was welcomed with smiles & open arms. They took all my details, signed me up, gave me a tour of the gym and off I went to start my first day at this beautiful place. It is run in an immaculate way. Every part of the gym is super clean... Specialy the men's room and toilets... Very happy there. People are courteous towards each other and keep to themselves which I like. But if you need help they are there to give you with a smile... I think I found my go to place when it comes to gyms... 🥰🤗🙏

The staff here is always friendly, and today they went above and beyond to help me find my car key that I had lost. They offered to help me retrace my steps. They dug through the trash. They reassured me that they would continue looking as I tried not to panic while googling locksmiths and tow trucks, resigning myself to the fact that I may never leave Planet Fitness… And then they found it! The gym itself is fine, what I have a problem with is contracts and policies. Why do you find it necessary to charge people when they are cancelling their membership. Is it really necessary to collect one more month from someone who is no longer interested in membership? Why are you making people come into the gym to cancel? I think both of things are ways for you to get every dime you can and I think that's bad business.
Update: They had the audacity to fraudulently charge a credit card I had used there in the past, wow no stopping you from getting $26.37 for 30 days I already informed you that I am not interested in.

Only downside is I’ve noticed that it’s kind of dirty.. mostly in the black card rooms, I’m not sure who’s responsible for cleaning in there but I’ve seen the same hair and dust bunnies in the rooms since I joined last month.. gross

There's plenty of equipment and a few free weights, such as dumbbells and a selection of bars with dedicated weights attached (as in non-interchangeable. Lots of universal and target specific machines.
There's a gym across the street that changes names every few years that would probably cater to someone seriously involved in bodybuilding. I cannot recommend them since they ripped me off and I even put in a credit card dispute. They are willing to fight even further than a credit card dispute. I would stay clear of them. Who wants to be trapped in a contract with a place that doesn't value their customers and would just rather grab as much money as possible? Not me. Never again.
Planet Fitness is the obvious choice. The place is kept clean. They have tanning beds and back massaging tables and chairs. Lots of TV'S for the treadmill and stair climbing machines. The best thing is it's month to month with reasonable rates and different memberships to choose from. Check it out.

The best sport club, very clean , friendly stuff at the front desk, and all newest equipment including wellness pod - start my day with this and finish , total body enhancement - grate to tone whole body mussels for 12 min good for busy people who doesn't have time to exercise, use it every day and skin became tightened with greater tone only after 3 times plus enhance the balance while using vibration this is my best discovery of the year - love you gays and appreciated for 24 hr excess Hooray Tor the creator of this wonderful place, it's like home to me

I joined the Shrewsbury as my home gym this month and I would have given it five stars because of the facility and their trainer, Peter .
If it wasn’t for the assistant manager, Cat, who deserves not even a single star. It is very sad because such employees are taking the gym owner for a ride. As per my experience, she is rude to the customer and stands with her back to the counter, not willing to help at all, doesn’t even make eye contact and just outright yelled at me and walked away, it was too much work for her to answer my questions and to listen to my dilemma about the Wall location and Shrewsberry location both having the issue with no one showing up for group classes. I asked her name and she asked me “why?”. She definitely has something going on, and I wish her peace, but it is not cool to take it out on customers.
The front desk staff at the Wall location was pleasant and friendly.
I downgraded my membership from the black card to the classic. Just an FYI – Planet Fitness does not really have any group classes, even though they’re on the “schedule”, in my experience, there’s been excuses for canceling it, each time, but the trainer at the Shrewsbury location is nice and he is willing to do a class for just one person even, which happened to be me. Today I just didn’t even bother because I saw it was just me again and I don’t like individual classes. I wanted to be in a group so I just went ahead, and did my own workout. If I just knew that there isn’t going to be anyone in the group, I could come to the gym at a more convenient time to me, to workout on my own, but she was not willing to help me out with which classes generally have people showing up. Cat was extremely unpleasant to deal with and could not be bothered with any questions. Maybe I asked the wrong question, do not ask about the group classes!!! Regardless, even the first time I went there, she had her back to the counter and could not be bothered. That being said, if you want a clean, well equipped gym that is priced right and you can just get in and do your workout and get out, this is the place.

I do not usually post, but when I do it is because I am truly upset or content. I felt this was a deserved notation. As an older customer, at times intimidated for going to a gym for whatever personal reasons I have. I must say the staff is great. And to the young lady at the front, pardon me I believe her name is Kat (anyway-young lady that is always there in AM) long dark haired. You are one of very few people from the younger generation, that I must say is refreshing to see. Your attention to customers and their wellbeing is admirable. Your friendliness is great. I witnessed a someone rude coming at, and your composer was more mature than the customer or ex customer. Bravo gives me great relief to know there are still some youngsters with respect more so than some of us elders.

1. needs another leg press-angled up as one can't get on most of the time
2. If you are going to put 5 plates on each side take them off when you're finished
3. I have a bit of a problem with the police department giving me a ticket parking close to the facility to the point I was told from the membership that I could park there however that is not true why should I have to pay a $50 ticket when a gym member parks there in a prohibited area there is a sign in the gym however it continues

I like PF Shrewsbury, but I am usually disappointed that I cannot complete the 30-minute circuit because people are permitted to use the machines in the circuit room as long as they want. (Or sit on them using their phones.)

Today I left with one machine undone because some guy was planted on the machine and didn't move. I went and walked on the treadmill for half an hour, and when I came back, he was still there, so I left.

I realize the staff doesn't really care and doesn't want to confront anyone any more than I do, but couldn't PF at least put up a sign about it being the circuit room and asking those not doing the circuit to give those who are priority?

Or even have a set time when the circuit room is set aside strictly for those who want to use it as intended and soneone is assigned to monitor that it is available. Why bother to have a "30-minute circuit" program if you aren't going to make it available?

I have been going to PF at Shrewsbury, NJ since they opened few months ago. This gym is very big and have well temperature control for comfort during work out. Gym has all kinds of equipment's in many numbers so we don't have to wait. Gym also have a well equipped functional training room.
Gym staff members are very helpful. I would especially like to thank Mr. Johnnie Moore, he is a hands on supervisor who makes sure equipment's are clean and in good working condition. He is a professional and pleasant person to ask for help. Also I would like to thank cleaning lady Kim, she cleans very thoroughly particularly bath room.

I have to say Planet Fitness stepped their game up here. It is extremely spacious, multiples of each machine, the weights go up higher than what I remembered. Well, I did. I came to change my 5 star review to 1. I would do a zero if possible. I have been in and out of Planet Fitness for about 7 years. I have never had a contract. I would never agree to one. But due to deceitful business practices, I ended up in one due to Halo. I needed to camcel my membership due to a car accident and was told I could not because i was in a contract. If that's how you need to retain folks...so be it. Ill live it out. But I will cancel eventually and instead of returning after my medical business, I will return to a different gym. It was great till it wasnt. 🤷‍♀️ And talking to them on location is useless. We left our info for the manager to call the following morning. That was Feb 9th...we're still waiting.

I’ve been a member for over 6 years now and never have I seen it as bad as it has been lately…. Not only did they changed their hours from 24hrs to 5am-10pm during the week but they also are not able to get there on time. Today there were at least 12 people waiting over 45 mins… most which started leaving after waiting for so long for somebody to show up. GYM OPEN AT 6:05 am this Morning… This gym needs to go back to being 24hrs like every other Planet Fitness around (or least have someone reliable that can be there on or before 5am.

As gym I think everyone knows what planet fitness has to offer. This location is clean and nicely staffed. I went in to cancel my membership though as I use a private gym now. I have to give them credit on this end though. They cancelled my membership with no push back, were polite and provided me with receipt without me asking. As many people know with gyms cancelling can be a nightmare but not here. Because it was so easy it makes me say i would definitely sign up again without hesitation when needed.

A really nice facility with TONS of equipment are workout areas to choose from. The staff are friendly and keep the facility in tip top shape in terms of organization and cleanliness.

When our new gym first opened my review was "Wowza! Now we got a gym!"

I updated it a month ago when they started letting teenagers in. I am updating it today 7/ 22 as the teenager presence is getting ridulous.

They behave as if they are at recess at school.
Pushing each other around right next to me as I am working out. They show no respect or regard to those around them. Today bikes were left outside the gym completely blocking the sidewalk. I suggested to the staff that perhaps a bike rack would help which fell on deaf ears and was responded to with " as long as they are not blocking the door."

Young unaccompanied teenagers prove themselves to be rude and a nuisance at the gym day after day. I certainly hope they are no longer allowed beginning September.

BELOW IS MY COMMENT OF A MONTH AGO
I don't think teenagers should be allowed without an adult. Last week I witnessed a teenager who had hurt his back lifting too much weight.
Yesterday I was verbally harrassed by a teenage after I asked him to stop swinging his keys which were on a long "rope", for lack of a better word. Management didn't seem to care.

Unaccompanied teenagers are a danger to themselves as well as those around them.

Gym closes at 8:00. Unbelievable how frustrating that is when you are trying to lift. It’s all about being inclusive but openly hates on people who wear cut offs to the gym, they call them “lunks”. They even have an alarm if you “drop your weights too hard” like that makes sense. Complete nonsense.
