Not a fan of this studio. Classes are too hot, even for a hot yoga studio, and they let their best teachers like Eleanora Zampatti go. Dani was also awesome but it doesn't look like she's on the schedule anymore either.
For some context into my practice, I've been regularly practicing yoga for 4 years and I have a pretty strong home practice. I've been looking for a studio with challenging classes that bring me out of my comfort zone. This studio didn't do it for me.

I am an avid yogi, practicing hot vinyasa/power flow yoga 4-5 times per week for 8.5 years. I often travel domestically and internationally and have the privilege of practicing at many different studios. While visiting family in Asbury for Christmas 2019, I tried 3 Hot Powerflow Vinyasa classes at the Asbury studio. The first 2 classes were generally enjoyable and lead by teachers respectful of studentβs individual practices and space. However, the Friday 10 AM class lead by Serena was the most unpleasant class I have ever attended. The studio does not have lockers, so I brought my bag containing important items into the studio (not my typical preference but I have had things stolen at studios and ensured my phone was off) and placed it in front of my mat out of the way of other practitioners. First, Serena moved my belongings without asking me. Then, she repeatedly insisted that I use blocks despite my verbal identification and physical cues that I did not need or want them for the instructed postures. (I use blocks as needed, but they are a minimal part of my practice.) She repeatedly came to my mat, physically moved my hands to blocks and insisted I use them. The option to opt out of physical touch was also never offered. Finally, as I moved deeper from extended side angle to birds of paradise, she commanded that I discontinue birds of paradise, claiming it would confuse the rest of the class. The class consisted of all levels, including other advanced practitioners.
Yoga is a personal practice, where teachers are guides. Certainly, they may need to intervene for safety reasons, but this was not the case. The overall experience was disruptive, agitating and obstructive. I left the class and studio feeling irritated and intruded upon. I likely will not return to this studio.

I live up north and go to bloomfield and Clifton studios but this is great when I go to the beach I go to class then shower and head to Belmar. I love the studio it has a different feel than other ones and I took sunday class 11am oct 7 that was so great and teacher style was very different and challenging and unpredictable so made it such a great class. the music was on point too I wish I live closer to there to go all time. Ill be there next spring summer for sure.

When you put a picnic bench outside your business you should also post a sign saying customers can sit only. Asbury Park is a friendly town and the condescending woman who told me to get off her bench was not friendly at all. Next time you want to talk down to someone, think about what is going on in their life. I was talking to my daughter who ran away from home. Thank you for making me move. I was only there fifteen minutes, not hours. I thought yoga followers were much calmer than that. Will never recommend your place to anyone.
