Where do I start… I transferred from LA Fitness to this gym. And I have 0 Cons, only Pros.
1. The Sauna is hot and always working
2. The lighting is God tier within the facility.
3. The Machines, oh my goodness… there is an extensive amount of advanced machines that will take your gains to the next level, for chest, back, biceps, triceps, shoulders, and my favorite, legs.. they have a side delt machine that hits the side of your shoulders like no other…
Then the atmosphere…. Gym music playing, everyone is in the zone, everyone’s there to work and no one’s talking. This is the greatest gym I’ve ever been to. I’m actually excited to go, I swear im in heaven everytime I’m there.

Called ahead asked if they did a free day trial because I was thinking of switching to a gym closer to my daughter’s gymnastics Practice, the guy over the phone tells me yeah they do a free day. I get here and he tells me it’s 20 for the day. Seriously terrible business plan. If it’s 20 for the day say it on principle not joining this gym. Ultimately wasted my time coming here. Looked promising but it’s a no for me. Don’t mislead people to get memberships, never a good look.

Hands down one of the best gyms I've been to. It's a little rough around the edges but if you're serious about getting big, I think it's an integral aspect of the journey. Really awesome Atlantis and Megamass machines that I've only seen in gyms that cost 100+ per month, and this gym is half that price. Staff is really friendly with an awesome taste in music. I wouldn't change a thing about this gym! (except maybe adding a Prime plate loaded seated row🙏🙏🙏)

I’ve been a member here since I was in high school, over 3 years now. For the past year, every time I check in, I get stopped and questioned while others walk right in. My membership is always paid in advance, so I don’t understand what the problem is. Is it my skin color or my race? It feels discriminatory and extremely disrespectful. I expect a formal apology — otherwise, I’ll be leaving this gym.

Gym is good But I kinda wish they had the key fob enter system when you go at night like other gyms. There’s a big sign that says 24 hours but three days out of the week It’s not open 24 hours, I work on the weekends and I like to go after work unless I’m off. I should’ve done my research, but honestly, if I had realized it wasn’t 24 hours everyday I would’ve went somewhere else for a similar price.

I go to this gym every morning and Mike is there with great energy. Makes my early morning workouts extra nice. I love that they always upgrade equipment and everyone is respectful of each other .The gym is always kept clean and neat . Yoga class with Kristen on Saturday is my favorite of the group classes but there are nice options for everyone .

If you’re looking at this gym and wondering about the two star reviews, it’s 100% because of the previous owner. This is by far one of the best gyms in New Jersey. The owner Joe is such a stickler for detail. Between the layout that he’s created and the speed in which broken machines are fixed. He treats this like his home and everyone who attends as family. It’s not an “influencer gym” it’s not a cookie cutter gym, this is a gym for people who want to take their fitness to the next level. Every member of the staff is very accommodating and friendly, so because of that attitude from the owner and staff, it motivates everyone to follow suit and match that energy. Members put their weights back, help others, and most importantly support each other. If you’re looking to get away from the box store gyms that are only looking to sell memberships, this is the gym for you. Even if you’re a first time fitness goer. Joe has the right people as trainers, massage, health and wellness all in house. If I could give this gym 10stars, i absolutely would. There’s nothing like this within a 40mile radius.

Update 2: I wanted to do a quick but much deserved update. The owner has really been doing a lot to improve the gym. Adding new equipment. Improving the organization of where equipment is in the gym, and most importantly you walk into the gym and feel the air from the air conditioning. The staff continues to be welcoming. Special shout out to the morning staff.

Update: Now that I’ve been a member at the gym for a number of months, I wanted to just update my review accordingly. The biggest point for me is the ventilation in the gym. The thermostat being on 72 when the gym is packed and it’s getting to be warmer out. Really makes it difficult to breathe or get any sort of brisk air. Maybe it’s not that kind of gym since a lot of people are body builders but it would certainly help. Also, depending who is in charge of the front desk the doors may or may not be opened for extra air and the fans may or may not be on. At the end of the day just makes cardio and working out a little more difficult. It’s challenging because my trainer is amazing and it’s my main reason for being there.

I started here back in August. I joined with a trainer that moved there from another gym. Everyone is super friendly, accommodating in their hours of operation, reasonable membership options and tons of equipment. While my trainer moved on from here, it was through this gym I was able to find a new trainer who was also able to get me on point with my nutrition.

I’m excited to continue my 2025 fitness journey here and to see what their new class schedule is as well. Hoping for additional yoga classes to add to my weekly routine that accommodate those of us with 9-5 work schedule. ☺️

I joined this community in December 2024 after Jersey Strong closed. The community here is extremely friendly and supportive. The equipment is top notch and the owner is constantly looking to improve the equipment here. I paid my membership for the year upfront, which places like LA Fitness don’t allow you to do and I don’t pay additional fees. It’s clean, friendly and the staff here is helpful and encouraging. Mike Thomas, never misses a morning to make sure the gym is opened and I greatly appreciate that!

Joined this gym in December after my gym closed, I am so glad it did this gym puts all other gyms to shame they got the best equipment especially leg machines, and they keep getting new machines. The front desk workers are always very friendly and helpful Mike, George and Ellen are great!!The members are all super friendly and helpful.The new owner keeps the place clean and up to date. It's not a 10 dollar fluff gym it's a gym that you'll get results. LOVE IT HERE!!!!!!!

Been a member for the past 5 years and drive 35 min because they have an excellent assortment of equipment, friendly staff and clean atmosphere but recently the front desk staff has changed and they are mot so friendly. As a matter of fact they have been playing vulgar music with profanity and obscene “lyrics” I find it offensive and definitely not motivating nor appropriate for a public atmosphere. I don’t know who the new manager is since Andrea left and I haven’t seem the new owner when Im here to discuss. Guess Im just going to have to remember to wear my beats to drown out the music or find another gym. Update…thx for quick response! Appreciate it.. would love to discuss..please provide contact info. Went in today to specifically ask questions about the gym and sign up. I stopped coming here during Covid because it was impossible to get a workout in. Since then I’ve had two kids and now want to start lifting again. The guys at the counter were both incompetent. I couldn’t ask them absolutely anything. One guy was completely rude and came off like he wanted to fight me when he tried to take snatch the paper away from me that they give customers to look at because they can’t answer any questions themselves. Then the guy who was semi polite knew nothing. I was ready to sign up but I couldn’t get any questions answered it was like talking to a wall. I had to look around to see if there was management around because I don’t want to speak to a bot but no one could help. It was a great gym back when I used to go but it’s way to packed with people who just stand around on their phones hogging up the benches or machines. Don’t even get me started on the prices either, absolutely ridiculous I can’t even bring my wife to workout unless I pay 15$ every time, way overpriced. Unfortunately it’s the only gym around where you can deadlift unless you have an at home gym.

I transitioned over to powerhouse six months ago and in my six months I must say that the equipment, the facility, the atmosphere and the staff here is by far superior to any other Gym I belong to. The one thing I have to point out is the members parking lot is constantly bombarded by Commuters, but the owner Continues to get full access of the parking area for Members. I have been going to this gym for many years and what really sold me was the spining class in the afternoon at 6pm when I started. Later I found out about the morning classes and because I have kids I decided to switch to go in the morning Stephanie the instructor is the best instructor I have ever met. She is dedicated and a great human being. Power house is like family to me but with recent changes we lost out spining room, not only the bikes get move all the times, they have never been service ever since we came back from covid. It is to my knowledge that we can not have a spin room however this gym it's huge. Next to my job they just open a new UFC in Iselin a lot smaller than power house not only they have a spin room, the also have a boxing room and a relaxation station. I have been going to spining class way before pandemic and I was recommending everyone to join power house now it doesn't feel like a family anymore. I am very disappointed.

As someone who is just finding their way back into the gym after a multiple year hiatus this gym is phenomenal. It has something for everyone and isn’t intimidating! The machines are well kept and organized in a way that makes your workout easy to get through and is visually appealing! Staff is very helpful! I joined Powerhouse Gym around the time the new owner took over, and it's been a fantastic experience so far. The owner has made significant upgrades, including installing all-new lighting and painting the entire facility. He's also investing in top-notch Arsenal Strength equipment, has knocked down some walls to expand the space, and continues to actively improve the gym. The staff has been incredibly friendly, and even the older equipment, inherited from the previous owner, is well-maintained and fully functional. they have great equipment overall.

My only suggestion would be to extend the weekend hours to at least 8 or 9 PM. Other than that minor point, I'm a very happy camper and believe this gym truly deserves five stars. 💪🏼

My gym just closed, and it wasn't fun to feel that I need to start all over again.. when I went to this gym, Anthony at the from desk was amazing, they gave me 3 day pass. Which i really appreciate. The gym is very good, but the main reason why I joined it. It's a trainner in there, her name is Stephanie.

I like the gym on my 3 day trial great hours good equipment even tho it's old nice preacher curl leg press and abs stations . Has all you need benches free weights enough space . I chose this gym because of their hours. But coming at night makes me want to rip my ears off. The type of non stop blaring reggaeton that gets played here at night is miserable. I hate having to put my own music at full blast just to drown out the garbage they have playing and god forbid you want to make a phone call. Place is clean but dumbbell racks are in shambles, absolutely no organization. More than enough machines to use but not nearly enough plates to go around. Pre-made meals are also a plus.

One of very few good, clean gyms open 24 hours at least few days a week. Works great for those folks with tough and ever shifting schedule. Some members of the staff real friendly and cheering up while some just polite. Gym offers good choice of machines and weights. Even on a busy hour there is rarely a traffic for a bench or a machine , it's easy to alternate. If you having troubles with old or fresh sport related injury there is a healing center with great doctor. Moreover, you rushed out of the house and forgot to pack your meal? No problem, there is a choice of well prepared savory tasty healthy meals in a fridge near entrance. My opinion this gym is one of the best in the area.

You will constantly be waiting for equipment to much people and not enough equipment.Also one rude manager or owner at the front desk with one bad attitude for no reason. Don’t bother setting up appointments because if you miss it for work or whatever reason you won’t be able to reschedule and will basically be scolded for having a life outside the gym. When explaining that I was pulled in to work that day he responded oh well I don’t like my time being waisted and Stood up he purposely canceled the set rescheduled appointment the day before I was supposed to come (which I did come to)when trying to explain myself this man was losing his temper over a very simple explanation to why I could not show up.

Great gym, great staff, reasonable membership prices, many membership plan options available. They will work with you on getting your membership started.
I’m a veteran, and they gave me my first month free, so they are Military Vet friendly.
Best gym around, no pizza parties like Planet Fitness does. This gym is the real deal, but no worries if you are an average Joe, there aren’t any jerky people here. A lot of positive people who aren’t paying attention to what you’re doing, and great classes available that will motivate you. All in all, I love this place.

The gym itself is filthy. From Monday to Friday I looked at the same trash and garbage on the floor and in the locker room. Employees stepped over trash, used restrooms and didn't wash their hands(management).Equipment is outdated, abused looking and multiple machines and pieces of equipment were broken and unusable. Equipment is not secured at all. Some move and rock as you use them. Paper towel dispensers are either completely broken or completely empty. Daily class schedule is a joke. Would not recommend signing with Powerhouse of Old Bridge.

I was there about 2 weeks ago...the place was packed and not even 1 person was wearing a mask...and also they have fans circulating the air all around the facility....exact reason why I canceled my membership back in 2020.....but besides that I would say it's a pretty good gym when it comes to equipment and they also have a basketball court with no air circulation at all, I thought I was gonna suffocate.

They said the basket ball gym was going to be opened in a week but it been 3 months. The club promised that it would become a 24 hour gym 3 months ago, but that never happened. Then they have the nerve to charge an extra 30 dollars annual fee for enhancements when there has been none.

TLDR: Long contracts, always busy, wasted space with a basketball court, HIGH fees, not worth the money, unprofessional, Great and nice staff

Out of all the gyms I've been too, this is arguably one of the worst. My contract was signed in 2016 and 3years was the only term of time. Its 2021 and I'm still paying for it.... When I signed up I made sure to get in writing and affirmation that if I move away for school I could cancel it. The guy who signed my contract has since been fired due to a multiple number of reasons. I had to delay payments and freeze them because the fraudulent employee lied to me and I couldn't afford to pay $30 a month while 376 miles away at school on top of everything else.

The membership prices are crazy considering they charge a Bi-annual maintenance fee for equipment, etc and yet there was a solid 6 months where equipment was broken, missing, or "under repair" so remind me why I am paying for my membership fees and extras if that place isn't a well oiled machine.

Why am I still here? Aside from my contract, there really aren't any other gyms aside from Planet fitness and you take what you can get. I train full time at Jersey Shore Fitness Shop in Bradley Beach while I live in S. Amboy. Powerhouse is strictly for cardio.

No slight on the employees but its definitely evident that this gym was kinda of like "we'll figure it out as we go" type of deal.

My trainer Wesley (Big Wes) is the BEST! he takes his job seriously, very professional and still very understanding !!💪 the equipments are up-to-date , they even have some that are original and you won’t find anywhere else. Great gym to workout at with an awesome staff, however there are a few concerns I wanted to share. First of all, the Air Conditioning has not worked in the gym for a few months now, except for in the front lobby, and it is very uncomfortable to workout after an hour or so. The bathroom also has no working ventilation or air conditioning and feels muggy and stinky at all times. I pay a $70 maintenance fee every year that clearly isn't being used to fix critical issues, so this is unacceptable. I am under contract for 1 more year and paying $28/month for a poor experience. I will highly consider switching gyms if these concerns are not addressed.

*Update: AC is not fixed but they installed large wall fans by the weights and it is tolerable now.

I needed a guest pass for a couple of weeks and Amel (I hope I spelled her name correctly) was incredibly accommodating and did not price gauge me. She made it reasonable and accessible to get the workouts I needed.

The gym itself is amazing, with every piece of equipment imaginable. Going to this gym is also an exercise in humility and motivation because the other members are in incredible shape. Yet, I never once felt out of place or unwelcome.

This is certainly an awesome gym with awesome members and awesome staff. Thank you!

I've never heard of a gym with a 3-year contract. Every time I tell someone, they're in disbelief. When I first signed up, they sold this to me as the ONLY option. I was naive and did it. I moved to a different town, and I'm 30 minutes away, and I can't cancel. Other than that, the staff is friendly and helpful I guess.

They do not enforce mask wearing nor seem to care once your scan your gym card. I have called the front desk to complain on every visit and nothing is ever done and/or announcements made reminding grown adults to mask up and sanitize their equipment after use.

EDITED REVIEW:

There was a massive misunderstanding which I personally take accountability for. Times are tough, and even though the General Manager, Andrea, was not available to speak to on the phone or in person due to the circumstances of their post-Covid reopening, she was very professional, reasonable and empathetic in her reply to my email to address my billing concerns surprisingly within hours of me emailing to reach out to her.

This gym was always good to me when I was active pre-Covid, the vibe, amenities, service and culture was always amazing and let's be honest, those are the reasons many of us go to work out in public rather than our basements to begin with. When I feel safe to return to a public gym, Powerhouse in Old Bridge will be the only gym experience ill be looking forward to.

This place has no sympathy or heart.. I tried to cancel my contract which I only had 4 months left and they refused. Even after i explained that i lost my job and longer feel safe to go because of covid-19. But here is the icing on the cake because of Covid-19 and them being shut down for 4 months. I am responsible for those 4 missed payments, She explained that they are extending my contract. This lady proceeds to tell me that the contract says 24 payments and not 24 months. So beware of this gym, they are sneaky with their contracts. Also the gym is not so clean, alot of equipment is broken and alot of juice heads go there.

Most of my experience is with the Chiropractic center
The Chiropractic center is opened up again This is what I enjoy the relaxation and stress reduction that comes with the staff, working to maintain a healthy lifestyle in this current environment

Been taking the monthly dues since COVID-19 and the state closing all gyms.
Trying to cancel contract since I moved out of state.
No reply to a "Return Receipt" letter, no one at the gym, no answer to phone calls.
Main office says they can't do anything about local branches as they are individually owned and operated.
Next step Better Business Bureau.

I like the gym but i really didn't have a good experience there with some of the employees or the "clean up" crew for lack of better term. One of the employees were extremely rude to me, and presented himself with having an attitude. I truly believe he was angry because he didn't want to do his job, and that he had some insecurity issues. I suggest taking some time in hiring better employees, or at least provide some customer service training once in awhile

This particular powerhouse gym is a scam im a powerhouse member who has been to multiple powerhouse locations and was never ask to pay a cover charge. This powerhouse location is definitely out to get in people pockets. Staff was very unprofessional and made me feel uncomfortable.

This is an more than adequate gym perfect for lifting plenty of different type of machines everything you need 3 flat benches 3 squat rack 3 smith machine and so many different leg machines.

The reason why I give them a 4 and not 5 star is that some times the locker room are not that clean and also its a 3 year contract kinda long but if you live within 15 mins of the area its worth it better than planet fitness or la fitness for 20 a month .

Read the fine print. The manager at the time I signed up said my membership was transferable and I could cancel by paying a cancellation fee. I made the mistake of not reading the tiny print toward the bottom of the 2nd page. Apparently I’m locked in for 3 years. Beware!!!

My home gym .Family is all I have to say. Great place to train plenty of equipment n always updating new equipment. 24 hours is definitely a plus . Staff they Rock . And the food , No reason not to eat healthy on ur way grab a meal or 2. Or just come in and grab a meal.

I’ve been training at this gym for the last 3 years and love coming here! Great equipment, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the facility is well maintained. Their GM Andrea is awesome and always looking out for memebers’ best interests. Definitely recommend signing up!

Just like every gym.. cancelling is a nightmare and a scam. I was paying $32.64 a month for a year contract. When I tried to cancel after my contract ended they charged me $42.64 after I had already cancelled.

When I signed up I expressed that it’s ridiculous for my dues to go up $10 even though I had been a member for a year and the owner told me he could honor my old due of $32.64 and not to worry. Shame on me for thinking he would keep his word.

When I called the manager told me to “think of it as a cancellation fee” which is garbage because I shouldn’t have a fee, I fulfilled my contract. I’m glad I cancelled.
