We are all about helping you get lasting results by providing you with expert coaches and a supportive community where you can train hard and pursue your fitness journey while never getting hurt in the gym.
All Pratt memberships also include additional unlimited access to our BURN program (HIIT cardio classes).

Every session at Pratt is always exceptional. I never worked out in a gym before and I started about a year ago, not knowing much about weight lifting or strength training-I am now a pro. I was shocked today when an exercise that was difficult before the summer, i was able to fly through it with Rhudson cheering me on.
I was confronted about my weight loss by a friend I haven't seen in a while asking how I did it and "what shot was I using" and my response was, I've been working out with a personal trainer consistently for about a year now, no shots here! I am proud of where I came from and having the coaches at Pratt show me how much I have improved because of them and their knowledge and teaching. They keep notes and remember everything! I still get surprised at how they know each person by first name that walks in the door. It's like a work out family and I couldn't be happier to be apart of it! I've been training at PRATT Personal Training for over a year now, and it's hands down the best fitness decision l've ever made. From the moment I walked in, I could tell this wasn't just another gym — it's a community, a place where people come to genuinely get better, not just physically, but mentally too. What sets this gym apart is the energy, the cleanliness, the well-maintained equipment, and most importantly, the people. One of my many favorite Coach Jake is, without exaggeration, the real deal. His knowledge of strength training, mobility, conditioning, and recovery is top-tier. But what makes him truly exceptional is his ability to adapt workouts to fit you — your goals, your body, and your mindset.
Whether you're a complete beginner or someone who's been training for years, Jake meets you where you are and pushes you past what you thought was possible — safely and sustainably. He's motivational without being cliché, tough without being harsh, and genuinely invested in every one of his clients' progress. He remembers your goals, checks in on your form, tracks your progress, and somehow knows exactly when to push and when to scale back. It's a rare combination. I came in wanting to "get in shape." Working out in the tent has been such a fun and refreshing change! The open air, natural light, and energy of being outdoors made every workout feel exciting and motivating. My life has become exponentially better since I started coming to Pratt Personal Training.
I hadn't done a true workout in over a decade when I first arrived. I was apprehensive at first, but the trainers were all so kind and encouraging. The workouts are personalized for each individual based on their level of ability. The trainers encourage you to level up when they feel you're ready.
The trainers are truly amazing. They're incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. They're also super friendly and kind.
The owner, James Pratt, is a lovely guy. Very approachable and present. He sends out emails with great tips about nutrition and different ways to approach your workouts. They've helped me a great deal.

I've been with Pratt since the beginning and continue to go because they are the best. The programs are tailored to individual needs and goals, and the trainers work to make sure you are achieving what YOU want to accomplish as an individual. I am focused on core along with stability and balance. On a recent trip there were a lot of people within or just a little older than me who had significant mobility issues. That is exactly what my workouts at Pratt are designed to help me avoid. This is long overdue...I travel constantly for work, which means I’ve had the pleasure (and sometimes pain) of trying gyms all over the map. Some were decent, some were weird, and one had a guy doing curls in the squat rack (still recovering emotionally). Whether I’m gone for a week or a year (lol), coming back to Pratt Personal Training always feels like coming home. The coaches? Legends. Knowledgeable, motivating, and genuinely invested in your progress. They don’t just remember your name; they remember your goals, your quirks, and how to push you just right. I’ve tried to find “Pratt vibes” elsewhere, but it’s like trying to find good pizza outside New Jersey—technically possible, but spiritually wrong. I love coming and working out at Pratt. The trainers are the best, tough, caring and want to keep challenging you to one's potential. Once it was announced the gym was moving to a tent, I never doubted James and his team would deliver anything less than amazing-and they did not disappoint. The trainers have been exceptional, never missing a beat and always keeping the energy high during workouts. Before my first tent session, I was a little concerned about the weather, but it hasn't been an issue since day one. Some days are warmer than others, but the fans have kept even the hot, humid days manageable. While I've loved the change of scenery and being able to train outdoors, I cannot wait to see what James and his team have planned for the new gym!!

Twelve months at Pratt: pain-free, strong and part of an amazing community. PPT has transformed my relationship with exercise. This is the first time in my life I've ever consistently exercised, and I actually enjoy it. The hour I spend here is usually the best hour of my day.
I came in with skepticism, a million reasons why this wasn't for me, and chronic low back pain. I am now completely pain-free and learned that movement is medicine. The trainers have adapted my workouts through medical procedures (often on the spot), supported me through tough personal times in the last year, and helped me build physical strength I never thought was achievable for me. The staff (and other members!) look after you like family here.
When they recently had to transition the gym to a temporary outdoor space, they handled it flawlessly and were thoughtful and transparent with members. The positive, motivating atmosphere seriously never skipped a beat.

A Transformative Experience
I started training at this gym 10 months ago, having never worked out before and coming from a demanding career and a sedentary lifestyle. As a senior, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the personalized programs and expertise of the trainers have truly transformed my fitness and strength. One of the most remarkable aspects of my experience has been the staff’s unwavering commitment during a challenging time. Since July, all training has taken place under a tent while the new gym is being completed. I never thought I could handle exercising in the summer heat—especially given my initial poor conditioning—but the environment they created made it not only possible but motivating. What the entire team has accomplished under those conditions feels nothing short of Herculean. Their creativity, professionalism, and support created a space that encouraged consistency and progress, no matter the circumstances. Today, I trained with Chris. Like the other awesome coaches there, who are focused and attentive to the members they’re training, he provided a few simple tweaks and tips to exercises I was already familiar and comfortable with. It’s amazing how those small adjustments made the movement click—I could suddenly feel and understand exactly which muscles I was supposed to be activating. It made the entire exercise more effective and purposeful.
Beyond the training itself, the overall vibe of the gym is something truly special—friendly, caring, non-judgmental, and genuinely committed to each person’s progress. Whether you’re just starting out or have been active for years, you feel welcomed and supported from day one. It’s clear the staff truly wants everyone to succeed, no matter their age or fitness level.
I’m now working out more often—and with more enjoyment—than I ever imagined I could. The programs are thoughtfully designed, well-balanced, and adapted to my abilities while still pushing me to improve. This gym has changed my life, and I’m deeply grateful.

I've been going to this gym for about four years and it's truly the best. The trainers are knowledgeable, supportive, and tailor every program to your personal goals. I don't even know where to begin!!! I've been a member since may 2023 in martinsville. I reluctantly joined because I couldn't stand myself anymore. I say reluctantly because I thought this would be another membership I'd pay for and not go. BOY was I WRONG! From my first day, in martinsville to today in Warren, you feel and are welcomed and supported. Not judged! The only person judging you is you! I can tell you what i lost, 50lbs and counting. But what I've gained is so much more; strength, mobility confidence in my abilities and hunger for more. I was intimidated at first, I saw someone doing a Turkish getup. I said, wow, I want to do that. My first coach, jayme says you will. I laughed and said yea right,ok. I came in with knee issues. I've been a chef for half my life, standing on the worst floors, running around a kitchen ,up stairs down stairs. My knees were shot. 12 months later, I did those Turkish getups, thank-you Rachel. Do my knees still hurt, yes, but with the amazing coaches, I'm learning how to work on the form so there's less pain and injury. James, im sure you know, you have created something magical. Its the perfect recipe for success, the perfect ingredients of coaches and members, I dont think can be duplicated. I dont have a favorite coach, because honestly they are all my favorite. I love being in warren, its like summer camp! Thank you, thank you for what you have given back to me!! It was a no brainer to go to warren!

Pratt Personal Training (formerly Performance Systems) was forced to leave its home in Martinsville this past June. That being said… we moved to a tent set up much like we had during Covid, about 15 to 20 min away from our original home in Martinsville. Instead of being unsure and disappointed, I found out the following..,
When I had my first training session under the tent on 6/30/25, I found that everything was very organized, and basically set up in the same way that we were before we left. The trainers did their best to guide their trainee in the right direction for each of their exercises. Giving clear instructions, and often demonstrating the exercises we needed to do. That helped a great deal because I had forgotten some of the exercises and the proper form.
Although it was quite hot and muggy outside of the tent, it was nice and cool under the tent for a quite humid day. Not sure how they would have been in higher temps. At least being outside provided somewhat of a nice cool breeze that you wouldn't have gotten if we were back at the Martinsville facility. That place was unbearable at times, heat and humidity wise. The tents were stocked with 3 huge industrial size fans which helped keep the humidity at bay. Thank you James and staff for ensuring the health and safety of your members. We appreciate it more than words can say.
My day 1 session went very well. My day 1 contained all the exercises I have already done in past sessions so, that made me feel very comfortable making the transition from gym to tent. Can't wait to see what days 2-4 bring. I am excited for the new exercise options I will be learning. As I went through the rest of my sessions for the first week, I learned different exercises, and still did some of my familiar exercises. I surprised myself by how much I accomplished in the first week under the tent. I look forward to my next week of sessions which I started on Tuesday, July 8th.
The whole first week of tent training was a smashing success. All the credit goes to our amazing PPT staff for setting up our make-shift tent gym in such an easy to follow way so that everyone could get the most out of their session. As always, our trainers shined bright.
Although getting kicked out of our home in Martinsville was not a happy moment, James and his incredible staff have made our new location just as fun and family oriented. I encourage anyone, and everyone, that wants to do better for themselves, to come over to 10 community place to get started with what will become your best investment of time and effort. The trainers and staff at PPT ARE THE BEST IN THE BUSINESS!!! You will ultimately become the best version of yourself. Just put your trust in yourself and this awesome staff. I have been part of PPT since 2020, anything, and everything, is possible. Believe in yourself and the process.

i don't know where to begin. Today was my first day. I was greeted by the entrance and the process was explained to me. All of the trainers came up and introduced themselves within the first few minutes of me being there and were sooo welcoming. I worked out with Chris who was great and they very careful with the exercises they gave me as I have back issues and was very cautious and nervous about that coming in. I can’t say enough good things about Pratt Personal Training and all the trainers there. There is a reason that Personal is in the name. They adjust everyone’s program to meet their personal needs. In my case I was battling vertigo, and they adjusted my workouts to minimize the chances to induce the vertigo. I have been attending regular Pratt Performance Sessions for almost two years now and feel great. When I first showed up I thought I was in ok shape, boy was I wrong. As a mom with three kids under 6 I've had a hard time the last few years finding the balance with having consist work outs and finding the self motivation to show up . Joining Pratt almost 6 months ago I wasn't sure what to expect. But There is something to be said when you walk in and each trainer approaches you to say Hi and have a quick check in. TLDR: This is the BEST training experience I have ever had.
If you are not sure where to start in your fitness journey or have been lifting most of your life like I have, Pratt is for you. I joined TEST Gym about a year ago and had a great experience, but like many of us on our fitness journey we get in a stagnant routine, stop seeing progress, and even build bad technique habits. I was all of those. They built my individual plan, specific to my own fitness goals, and honestly in just one month surprised myself how far I've come. I owe that progress to the program and sticking to it, but none of that would be possible without the incredible staff. Every single trainer I get to work with (and even the ones I don't) are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. They make this experience more than just going to a gym for an hour. I was born with dislocated hips and knees and was never comfortable with any of the exercises I was trying especially as an athlete. I was 1 year post ankle surgery when I started up lifting again but this time I joined Pratt to get my strength the best it could be. I have had athletic trainers tell me my entire life because of my history I could not strain the growth of my leg muscle without stressing out my hips and knees. Pratt showed me that it was totally possible and the attention to detail of trainers really matters. Every program made for me takes into account what my body can and cannot do. They never tell me I cannot do something they listen to my body and adjust exercises slightly and to a point that works so I am still challenging myself to get where I want to be. I have been extremely happy with my growth and will continue to show up and challenge myself thanks to this amazing team!

Today was a milestone day for me. I set a goal for myself to hit a particular number on the scale that I haven’t seen in the last over 11 years (since I was pregnant with my daughters). A year and 4 months ago I joined PPT and zoned in on my goal and have been determined to hit it ever since. Today I reached my goal. I could never have done it without the unwavering support from all of the trainers and staff at PPT. You never really know what someone is going through and working out here has saved me in so many ways. This gym is more than a place to train - it has helped me physically , mentally and emotionally and it all started with one small change - going to the gym 5 mornings a week, which turned into a habit, which created a domino effect of many small changes implemented throughout the year. I've been going to Pratt consistently for a month now and I really love it! I've worked with almost every coach by now and they've all been extremely helpful and encouraging. I think I've worked with Collin the most - he's amazing!
Pratt offers small group personal training (8 clients max per trainer at a time with the trainer walking around throughout the hour to tell you which exercises to do next and correct form and modify exercises if needed), but they also offer athlete/sports training, small group HIIT classes (which are unlimited when you're a member), and the typical 1:1 training you would think of when you think "personal training".
When I first came in for the intake, I spent about 20 mins speaking to Jon about my fitness goals and previous exercise experiences (what kind of workouts I like and don't like, which motivate me to keep exercising, etc.) before heading into the training area where he assessed my form and what I'm physically capable of so the trainers can create an appropriate and custom fitness program that'll help me reach my goals.
I deducted a star was because the initial program is very tedious to get through as you alternate between the same 2 workouts for a total of 12 workouts (6 of each) which I completed in 3 weeks. The exercises are the same but as you progress, they adjust the repetitions and weight accordingly so I do feel stronger after completing the initial program, but it just felt boring to me. They explained to me that they do this as a way to get to know us and minimize the risk of injury that comes with having various exercises, which is understandable but doesn't make it any less boring when you're not new to fitness and exercise. I also try to go 4x/week so doing the exact same workout 2 days later was annoying when I still felt sore. I'm on my second program now and I'm alternating between 4 workouts instead of 2 now, so it is more enjoyable.
It's also very expensive at face value lol but keep in mind that 1:1 personal training anywhere else is MUCH more expensive and you get great value, great results, and the chance to work with awesome coaches!

I have been a member since 2016. Today, myself, my two brothers, and my father all exercise with PPT, but I was the first one to try it out 7 years ago. I started in the athlete sessions and recently made the switch to the adult sessions. When I started with what is now Pratt Personal Training, I was a shy, insecure, young athlete. I started up with PPT to gain strength and prevent injury from my sport, softball. I was just starting to get serious about recruiting and I knew if I had any chance, I needed to start going to the gym for the first time. However, I hated exercising and was extremely reluctant to start. As I continued to grow with Pratt Personal Training, I grew from that timid, embarrassed kid to a more strong, confident, and healthy individual. I am now entering my senior year of college, where I play softball for my school. Pratt Personal Training has allowed me to take leaps and bounds both within my sport (power, strength, endurance) and in my fitness journey overall (balance, drive, passion). I have had the pleasure of getting to know the staff and I have formed close relationships with each of them. What stands out to me the most about Pratt Personal Training is not only the personalized workout programs, the vast array of gym equipment, or the fun and accepting environment; but the trainers are what make Pratt Personal Training so great. They have watched me grow, supporting me every step of the way. They have driven near and far to watch me play; they even celebrated my 21st birthday with me! They have been able to accommodate certain exercises based on a past injury I've dealt with if something doesn't feel right. It is not at all an intimidating environment, and the trainers make every day a positive experience. I never felt like I got anything out of other gyms - here I have trainers who put together a program specifically for me and know how to push me so that I see progress in all the work I'm doing, where I would never push myself working out on my own. I’ve always been active with outdoor sports and leisure activities, but my biggest challenge was I felt like everything started breaking after I turned 40. I struggled with sports injuries that resurfaced - pain in my knees, back and right shoulder.
I also have a family history of heart disease, hypertension, and diabetes. This was the time to start taking control and solve some of my pain and prevent potential future health conditions.
After starting Pratt a little over 4 years ago, I’ve really felt the best I’ve felt in a long time. My shoulder and back pain has been relieved and don’t have knee issues while skiing any more.
I’ve increased my strength, energy and overall endurance. I’ve noticed a lot more confidence with challenging physical activities.
I’ve lowered my stress levels and mood has more been consistent. Thankfully, I’ve also managed to reduce my medication for high blood pressure.
I’ve tried other workout routines and high intensity classes, but I felt like the “coaches” were more like motivational speakers and didn’t focus on proper form and execution of exercise, which could lead to injury.
The staff at Pratt are very knowledgeable and understand body mechanics, they are true personal trainers. There’re personable, relatable, sharing their journeys, motivate and instill confidence, pushing you when the time is right.
I really like the atmosphere; you’re there to work but can also have fun while doing it.
In general, the Pratt program is very special and unique. It’s custom tailored to YOU, your body, challenges, fitness level and personal goals. I’m competing with myself, to become a better overall healthy person.

I love PPT!!! I joined PPT in September of 2021 after falling into a workout rut; my workouts were uninspired and I was just going through the motions. I was hesitant to set up my evaluation as PPT is 20 minutes from my home but was nudged into action by a few friends that were considering joining as well. I am so grateful for that nudge. I have been going to Pratt since July 2022, and prior to that participating at TEST (personal training and Burn classes) since 2016. I was hesitant to join, but was encouraged to give it a try by Geir G. I have to say I just started my 3rd program and absolutely love the experience. I worried that semi-private would mean limited attention, and given my past injuries, was afraid to hurt myself, again. I was wrong. The personalized programming is excellent, catering to exactly what your goals are and each of the 3 programs have been great, with a unique twist to each of them. I have also felt that the coaches make sure to “watch” and ensure that form is correct, to prevent injury. On the couple of occasions I needed modifications, they made them. In fact, I am lifting weights and doing workouts that I did not think were possible. I highly recommend Pratt Personal Training for anyone looking for great coaches, personalized programs and a warm, friendly environment to train. PPT is a game changer! I was happy with my fitness routine and have always loved and prioritized exercise in the past, but upon moving to the area I had to find somewhere new to work out. I was pretty much forced to give PPT a try by some friends. I did have a goal to lose weight for an event, and thought I'd be able to do it on my own through consistent exercise and tracking calories. While that may have been true, PPT made this task 1000X easier. I accomplished my goal in ~4 months and kept the weight off and continued to gain muscle tone for the next 3 months. PPT does all of the thinking for you which leaves more room in your life to think about other things! All you have to do is show up and have fun. What I didn't realize was the secondary benefits that PPT would also have on my life. It was critical for mental health during a stressful time, and it even lowered my blood pressure from slightly too high over the last few years to just where you want it! Couldn't recommend this place more. Give it a try!

You are constantly being supervised by very professional (sometimes funny) trainers, so the risks of injuries are slim to none. I have met the most interesting people, made new friendships and never once, have I felt like I was being judged by anyone. After a personal assessment, a custom workout is made just for you based on your goals and abilities. They push you to better yourself every day. I have been attending PPS for about a year. In addition to gaining strength, I have also gained confidence. Being stronger and more fit has also significantly improved my quality of life. I have less pain and more energy, everyday chores (like hauling in groceries, practicing sports with kids, or schlepping laundry up the stairs) are noticeably easier. The other members of PPS are also amazing. The sense of community is unlike anywhere I have ever been. No matter your background or fitness level, everyone is there to better themselves too, and by doing so lift others up in process.

Two words: awesome gym. James, Kyle and the rest of the crew work it so that you look forward to your exercise. They tailor the workouts to fit your goals and personality, even though you are working out in a group. The atmosphere is very inviting and the least intimidating of any gym I've been to. Some folks may be intimidated by the looks of the place because it looks like a facility that an NFL team would work out at. However, once you get past that and see that everyone is cool, it becomes a draw. The place is as clean as can be and equipment is either new or has been well maintained. All of the trainers that I have worked with have been top notch. If you've had trouble committing to a gym or a workout, give this place a try.

I have been working out with Pratt Performance for years and can’t say enough about the trainers, the methods they use and the way the facility is run. James and the entire team do a great job of listening to feedback and helping set realistic and challenging goals. With the latest program I asked for a focus on core strength as my back has always given me issues. The program they put together was creative and really worked my core and allowed me to go on my annual golf trip – 7 rounds in 7 days – with no back pain at all!!! Having a customized program is the most efficient way to reach your fitness goals. One aspect I love about Pratt Personal Training is you have a personal trainer without paying $100.00 an hour. I would have to pay over $500.00 a week to have my exact same routine in a one-on-one environment. This affordable, semi-private atmosphere allows you to get into your own groove without feeling stared down by your trainer, but they are still watching and they help you improve your form, maximize your workouts and keep written records of your progress that they use later to build your next program. You will never plateau here. Each trainer is an expert and knows the science behind your training. They are such a dedicated and impressive team here. I love not having to figure any of this out myself, which would take a lot of planning, and I would not be able to curtail my program like they do here. Another thing I love about PPT is how everyone lifts you up at the gym. Both members and staff. It’s easy to make friends here because everyone is so encouraging and positive. I love working out around a diverse group of people of various ages and fitness levels in the same session. I see people way more fit and advanced than me working just as hard as the beginners. It’s a very inspiring and non judge-mental climate and it just makes me push harder. I really can’t wait to get here and it very often is the most rewarding part of my day. I have had recent improvement to my body composition and there hasn’t been one day in the past month where someone hasn’t reinforced that by complimenting me and lifting me up. It’s such a positive environment where you can just focus on your personal goals and not think about anything else, all while being surrounded by a professional staff and amazing members. If you don't like the gym, you WILL. If you don't know what to do at the gym, you WILL. If you aren't sure about going to the gym or are scared, just schedule your initial assessment and you will find yourself becoming more and more relaxed about going. Prior to joining PPS, cardio was my main form of exercise. I signed up for the free trial in October 2020 and have been hooked ever since. Facility is great and the staff is awesome. This is the gym for anyone - athletes, people who used to be athletes, someone who's never stepped in a gym before....and everyone in between. The gym is clean, has new equipment, spacious, and has ample parking (this is important!). The trainers are knowledgeable, personable, helpful, and even funny (check out their TikTok). James Pratt and his team want everyone to love to go to the gym, become stronger, and reach their own personal goals! I've been a client of Pratt Performance for the past 2 months and am thrilled with the trainers and the model. I've been a member of many gyms/fitness centers in the past but have finally found a model that I love. The fact that they customize training to your personal goals is different from any other place I've been. Everyone there is doing something different aligned with what he/she wants to achieve. In just 2 months I can already see improvement! The trainers are top notch, super friendly and know their stuff. Anyone who thinks they want to get fitter, stronger, work out with professionals who care deeply about their clients well-being, and get into a program that is reasonable and sets you up for success should come to Pratt Performance Systems. The unique semi private sessions are so fun - the trainers and other clients are so encouraging, have a sense of humor and hey, the music playlist is pretty good too! I’m able to come to a session early in the morning, and work with knowledgeable trainers who support me and tailor exercises and programs to my needs at different points of my fitness journey. I do not have to plan my workouts - it’s done for me. The equipment is great, the exercises are challenging but just right, and I can focus 100% on my form and giving it my all - it’s the one hour a day I invest in me. I’m in a better place physically, and have much more confidence, than I thought possible at this point in my life. Check out PPS - you’ll be glad you took the time for you.

I signed up for a trial for 2 weeks and it was one of the best decisions I made in my life! I used to really really really hate working out and it was always a chore until I came here. Now, I look forward to working out! It’s not even a month since I joined and I feel great!! I have so much energy that the other day, I came home from a 12-hour shift (I’m a bedside nurse) and still had the urge to run on the treadmill. What the heck?? I told my husband that I don’t know who I am anymore but I love it! That has never happened before!! I love this place! The people are so nice and positive! It’s so worth the money!! It’s not your regular 20/month gym and yeah it’s more expensive than my pilates class but for what they do and the amount of change I have seen in myself in such a short time, I would rather come here than go shopping. Lol 😂
