First visit. I stopped for the Pool. 9 foot deep. Have showers, hot tub, shampoo, soap. Pool was clean. Friendly Staff. I'll be back on my Days Off. Good practice Snorkeling.
It's a Shame they are Closing this Fitness Center. Only one I know of (In the Network) that had the 9Ft Deep Pool that I made use of. True it was a bit of a Pain to travel to from where I live. I Enjoyed the Deep End. And the Water was usually Clear enough to see Diagonally Across the lanes. All 6 of them.

As a fitness center it was really great.
But alas they are closing such a beautiful fitness center.
The concerns include the timing. It is open only till 5 pm on weekends and 10 pm Mon to Thursday
Also worthy to mention though all other staffs are very polite and found out great except the general manager.
Her presence never felt like leading a service industry.
Overall this should not have been CLOSED

I was happy here until things started falling apart and not getting fixed correctly or expediently.
Yesterday the text came. Doors are closing in a month. All became clear.
A huge problem is the group fitness schedule is geared for people who don't work or don't work traditional hours.

It's a nice facility, clean, well lit and plenty of parking. The staff is very nice and helpful. Lockers, towels, showers and classes are included in the monthly fee. Trainers are available for a fee. Most classes are included in the fee. Reservations may be necessary for popular classes and the pools. There are two large workout areas, many machines for running and other stationary exercises and three studios upstairs. There is a large bike studio upstairs too. Introductory tours are always available.

Truly disappointed at the manager at this facility. In RWJ Hamilton Fitness & Wellness we have Sharon… and in Plainsboro Fitness & Wellness we have Karen who may be equally detrimental to the business as Sharon was. Stakeholders if you are reading this it’s about time to let Karen go. It’s truly heartbreaking to see a gym with such potential be led by a senior citizen who has no real enthusiasm for Fitness what so ever. So what has led me to write this review? I witnessed Karen approach a member at the gym and then force this individual to adjust his parking or the cops would be called. She was right about the individual not parking correctly outside the facility but then to be a bully and then have the cops drag out him and his 2 other friends to have a “discussion” is truly ridiculous. It seems like Karen is a fan of the jersey shore drama and should be in the casting call for the next season. I would avoid this gym and RWJ Hamilton until the narcissistic managers are changed. If this gym is for the elderly please disregard this review…. but it’s not. It’s a shared space for all gym-goers. I have no interest in speaking to you Karen so no need to respond to this review. Just understand your negativity, attitude and bully-like behavior has consequences. All eyes are watching whether you realize it or not. I will continue to speak up. On a side note stop asking members to go into your office so you can have a private discussion with them. This isn’t middle school and we are not in detention.
And Karen you cannot tell other members that your car is nicer than them. At least do privately

This is a members only gym. On two floors, downstairs is mostly machines, including treadmills, ellipticals, fixed exercise machines and a small free weight area. Upstairs are two large studios and a small studio for yoga and small mat classes. There is also a pilates studio and a much larger free weight area.
There are also three pools, salt water, including a lap pool, a smaller warm water pool for aqua aerobics and a very small hot water therapy pool. There are men's and women's locker rooms and showers, a sauna and a steam room.
The gym is about 10 years old and the machines are beginning to show their age. Maintenance is satisfactory.
The gym, locker rooms and pool are very clean. I understand an air filtration system was installed after the gym was reopened in September of 2020.
Monthly membership is about $60 + . Check with a membership agent to be certain. All classes, the pools and locker rooms with towel service are included. Fitness professionals are also available for an additional fee.
This is an outstanding gym. My only criticism is the age of the machines.

I personally think there are gaps on management and the front desk rep can be more accommodating.
My six year old son wanted to go to rest room immediately so I have to drop him and then find a parking spot. After parking, when I entered the gym I saw my son was holding at the front desk with legs shaking as he almost cannot hold. And then the front desk rep started tutoring me that little kid needs to be escorted by parent. In principle I agree. But I would suggest to be more considerate to ask why the kid has to go in by himself and nicely direct him into the restroom and then it’s more than welcome after to let me know the rules.
Later a general manager came to me to reinforce the rule. I asked her that if it’s a rule does it post it somewhere in the facility. She appeared to be very sure that “there is a sign in locker room stating children below 10 must be escorted by parent”. However I checked entire men’s locker room and the sign doesn’t exist. The general manager admitted the sign is not there and agreed that posting a sign is something they can consider as a continuous improvement.
My takeaway there is that a facility management can be more considerate under certain circumstances, instead of condescending.

This is by far my favorite gym in the area. I actually wish gyms elsewhere were laid out more like this one (specifically the upstairs area, more open space, several squat racks). It never feels too crowded so you can focus on your exercises. Equipment is always clean and weights are well organized. Karen and Angelica were very helpful with explaining the membership details and getting me set up. I always get a good workout here.

Very disappointed- a business is always known by how they treat people while they are using their service and how they are when you decide to leave.
On both counts Princeton Wellness has been disappointed.
first last year I found out browsing through my credit card bills the gym had been incorrectly billing me for a class we had not been using for over 15 months. The class didn’t even exist for 14 of the 15 months but the facility didn’t mind charging us for it. Go figure!! .
And after numerous follow ups and call backs and reminders I was given a credit (not refund as that wld take longer I was told) for that incorrect billing.
No apologies, no additional credits for having charged in excess of $1500 in incorrect billing.
Progressively the the facility keeps getting dirtier and dirtier. Showers broken not promptly repaired - which we overlooked because of the few swimming staff which were good
Finally I decided to leave. Even in that I got swindled to say the least - I spoke on March 1st or 2nd that I want to end my membership i was told since I came 2 days late - it will be I’ll be billed for March and April there you go.!
I’ve spent approx $1200/- per annum on swim lessons in this place for 2+ yrs in addition to my and my wife’s membership ($150x12 ) for 3 years
And when it came time to cancel the membership -
And even after speaking to Max who seem to be the person “incharge” I was told forget about the incorrect billing and the business uve done with us.
Since u came on March 2nd and decided to leave u will have to pay for all of March and all of April even.
Don’t mind that it’s basically 30+28 days since u decided to quit
I’m glad I’m leaving and glad folks like Max don’t work for my business! As it is a disaster in customer relationship and keeping long term customer.
I am one family whose business you will never get - and of-course Max and team made sure none of my friends don’t join too.
Maybe that’s why also the overall rating of this place is poor
There are many better facilities in the neighborhood if anyone is looking for fitness. Ranging from the very high to the very low budgets.

So this evening one of the "trainers" planted himself in the very middle of the floor at about 5.15 pm and had his dinner while sitting on one of the machines and very loudly talking and laughing with a visitor and later another trainer joined in. This has continued at least until 5.45 pm , which is when I left. Turns out he is actually some sort of a manager at the gym. So incredibly unprofessional.

Mismanagement, clique-ish, unfriendly desk staff, namely Tom and Anastasia who are quite selective in their greetings. Only reason I go is because of its proximity to my office so I can get my workouts in in the middle of the day. Inconsistent in its cleanliness and always unwelcoming.

Great facility with a personal touch!!
I had been a been member here since it opened almost 10 years ago and enjoyed the facilities thru & thru. Recently I was tempted to try out another newer fitness center in the area, but it felt too big impersonal and more like a cruise ship.
Determined to revert back to my more familiar and personal experience at Princeton Fitness & Wellness, I reached back to them. To my pleasant surprise they greeted me back with open arms. The general manager of the facility, Von reached out to me personally and made sure that the transition back was smooth and effective.

If you are currently thinking to join this gym, please think twice!!!!! When taking shower, suddenly no hot water, you have to wash your hair with cold water, and they are not willing to repair this! Steam room and sauna are always out of order, and not clean, totally doesn't worth the money you paid.

I have been complaining about the urinals that are overflowing creating a health and slip/fall hazard for weeks and nothing has been done. I would suggest to stay away from this gym until this issue has been resolved, in fact I am thinking about canceling my wife's and my membership because of this issue.
The general manager contacted me promptly right after the review and informed me that this issue was been fixed as we were speaking. Five stars for the great customer service.

Update: It's nightmare. The collectors sent me a bill. I already talked to 10 more people and they said they understood the mistake. But nothing happened. They kept sending a bill. Please avoid this gym.
The sales and billing department has really poor customer service. I have to keep talking to them to resolve the charge that they promised me free.
Be Aware free month is not real free here. I am still calling and talking to resolve billing issues. Still no refund yet after talking to them for 7 times

Seems crowded inside and out, definitely a problem with parking, as it is shared with the hospital, hospital offices, and rehab facilities. Why they did not build a parking garage here, I cannot imagine.

It is the best full-service gym in the area, but there are some issues, some of which are customer behavior, for example, like flush the toilet after yourself, I do it everytime, if the sensor doesn't work then press the button for a few seconds and make the world a better place.
If you get a discount you can get a full service gym, with lots of equipment in generally good working order and a steam room, sauna, and plenty of towels.
It does get busy however, and the pools are frankly packed with kids all the time so I just avoid them as it is loud and I would be unable to swim freely at a good pace.
The trainers know what they are doing and are energetic, service-oriented and professional. Shout out to Dimitri - who was excellent. They are now going to a Tier 1 - Tier 2 - Tier 3 plan (Tier 1 is very affordable and underpriced, Tier 2 starts to sting and Tier 3 would be above my budget).
Most of the equipment is in good working condition.
My main critiques - I wish the men's locker room bathroom, steam and dry sauna where a little cleaner, and bigger. The showers are too big and the steam and sauna too small. I don't take advantage of the pools due to the frequent classes for children, they're just too busy. Except for the initial fee the price I think is quite reasonable for the size, amenities and condition. This is not a low end gym and the price is a small fraction of that of a high end gym like Equinox, of which there are none in the immediate or even close by area. However, I'm curious to see how Lifetime Fitness affects the situation in the future when they do finally open.

To be honest this gym feels mismanaged, it’s not very clean, and it smells a lot in locker room. The sauna has used, bloody bandage on the walls. And then there is the back office which is trying to rip you off constantly, even when you are about to become a member. It feels sketch, and they add hidden costs in the billing and in the contact, it’s not a lot but still feels really sketch.
Floor staff are nice and friendly and the gym is well equipped though.

Excellent and well-run facilities. Clean, everything in working order and repairs made quickly. Slightly expensive for a gym membership but there are other benefits meant to offset those costs (nurse visits, one one-on-one free training session per month, free classes)

Just an FYI, this gym costs approx $60/mo + 1 time enrollment fee of $200-500(more money down= cheaper monthly). Aside from high prices, the gym is pretty good. No complaints from me. Sauna, steam room, pool, and hot tub are the +

This is a good gym for many reasons. It's clear that the team is dedicated to the idea of providing a good experience for all. However--that being said: the -reality- is frustrating (often *really* frustrating) that my husband and I pay high membership fees every month for services that are frequently impossible to use. Due to injuries, we need to work out in the pools, but at just about every hour, the pools are occupied not only by other patrons, but by swim lessons. It seems there is NO time of day during which swim lessons don't occur. I understand we all must share the pool, but for the amount of money we are paying PFWP every month, I'm disappointed that most of the time we can't even utilise our memberships because of overbooked and ill-considered conditions regarding their pools.

I am new to the area and needed to find a new fitness center to exercise at. I looked at other facilities and did not find the same amount of services that I get here, which included a meeting with a nurse to do my measurements and two appointments with a fitness trainer to give me an update to a program I have been doing for a while. I like that I have access to pools that are salt-water filtering, and that I can go to their other location. I dont have kids but they do offer childcare included in membership.
I have found the center not overcrowded and their sales staff to be friendly, courteous, and caring. I hear people make big deals about prices, but in my culture, my health is the most valuable thing I have.
The value I get at Princeton Fitness and Wellness is tremendous. Good day and health to you all!

it is shameful and disgusted to see three children standing in overflow toilet water and walked to the pool, two adults to the locker room. They dont think about the pool floor and the carpet? They can notify Ashley or any one at the front desk to call housekeeping. PFW should have this publicly posted to remind members of their common sense to keep the gyms safe and clean. (Ashley called housekeeping staff immediately).

I came for a tour. The woman there said she didn't have time and asked if I could come back at another time. She said she wanted to go home early. Came at another time and I guess they didn't have anyone to take me on a tour. Also, some of your members have returned to Forrestal Village Fitness because they don't like waiting for cardio equipment or the atmosphere. I've been training for 30 years, competed in bodybuilding, so I know what I'm looking at when it comes to gyms; however, twice now, I was turned down for a tour. That said a lot about your staff. Also, your older location in Princeton was NOT state of the art!! The equipment was old and some had even been duck-taped!! I hope that issue has been resolved. Otherwise, Is that what this location has to look forward to??

I am writing this review as a person who works here, works out here , but also who has worked out in several gyms over the past 25 years.
- New well maintained equipment
- 165 Group fitness classes every week
- 3 pool aquatic center featuring salt water pools
- 4 strength training areas
- 100+ pieces of cardio equipment with individual televisions
- Steam and sauna in the locker rooms
- Towel service
For those considering a new fitness center, understand that Princeton Fitness and Wellness, the 8th of 9 centers, is hospital based. All of the memberships are month to month, and the focus is on results. Unlike that $19/month gym with broken equipment, no parking and filthy conditions, this is a center that is serious about giving you the tools to achieve the results that you have been thinking about. As such, we do things a little differently. For example, every 90 days you will see a Registered nurse for a full fitness assessment, and every six weeks you will see a trainer for 2 hours to make sure that you have variation in your program to avoid plateaus.
Final thought, what people are really good at is procrastination that is why more than one third of adults in the United States are obese (or 78.6 million), that is why obesity-linked type 2 diabetes is approaching an epidemic in the United States, as are issues with countless other preventable diseases. Change, is uncomfortable and change is often hard but with steady determination, change is always possible. When looking at reviews, keep an open mind, come in for a tour, and see for yourself... We have been assisting in transforming people and changing lives for the better for over 11 years and counting.

The place uses high pressure sale techniques. If someone has to hide behind such hard sale then they have something to hide - simple. Additionally they are condescending, use scare tactics. Any one who walks in is interested in joining their gym then where is the need to sell it very hard to them, saying how important the heart muscle is, it costs less than a cup of coffee (not every one buys coffee at Starbucks price) etc etc. Especially the promise of not over-enrolling the clients and when we went on a soggy/rainy day the place was full, packed like a peak hour NJTransit express train (standing room only ride) to NYC.
We went there to join. We did our research. We wanted to know the cost. We were willing to invest the 1 hr sale pitch to know the price. 549$ enrollment with 79$ / month. And the usual the discount is valid only for that day. A huge WASTE of TIME.
And the false pretense as if they are concerned about the various health issues one may have. Invasion of privacy period. I wonder whether they reject even if one attempts to join after a open heart surgery - but they behave as if they care.
It is a typical rip off place.
May be the facility is great but it surely is not for the average people.
