STAFF IS EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND SEXIST! I will never be returning to this retro gym again. I was already working out for like 10 min when a staff member walked up to me and kicked me out because of my attire. Mind you , the men were showing more skin than me. In addition, I have looked into the terms and conditions and it does not mention specifically you cannot wear a sports bra. Also their advertisement is of a woman in a sports bra-very hypercritical! I have been to plenty of gyms that have never enforced a dress code. If this was truly policy, why wasn’t it brought to my attention from the start? I came in the exact outfit I was working out in. It’s 2019 how dare you tell a woman how to dress!!! This is a gym and I was wearing gym clothes. I feel extremely disrespected and will never return. I have convinced my friends to do the same so they lost more business than they realize.

This gym is disgusting, I signed up for a personal trainer and inappropriately harassed via snap chat. When I switched trainers the next one was just as bad. I highly suggest if you have daughters or your just a woman to go else where

Love coming here for my workouts! The staff is friendly, and the environment is welcoming. The machines are good and seem clean most of the time. There are many things you can do here, and they offer classes and personal trainers. My favorite thing about this gym is the smoothie bar. I love the smoothies here; they are delicious and affordable. I always get one once I'm done with my workout!

Like this gym, staff is great and very helpful. I use basic cardio equipment and weights, haven't taken any of the offered classes but they seem to be popular. Would have given it five stars but finding the entrance to it is a bit tricky and dangerous; not well marked at all, very hard to see especially at night.

Lots of space and lots of different machines. The staff are pleasant and welcoming. I remember one time when it was raining a staff member went to every patron to let them know it's raining outside in case anyone's car had the windows down. Outstanding customer service!

Been coming to this gym for over a year now and have no complaints about it. Authentic family environment, not like other gyms that just try to sell you as soon as you set foot in the building. Everyone's very friendly and the staff really knows their stuff. Definitely would recommend to anyone looking for an affordable gym

I’ve been with Retro Fitness for a couple of years now. I’ve been to a number of their locations, from Pomona, New City, and Hackensack and I just saw, the facility in Ramsey is phenomenal. They’ve got an incrediblely positive and upbeat staff who are always able to provide insight and technique when asked about workout routines and varying methods. An overwhelmingly helpful managerial staff, and a multitude of engaging classes. Not to mention a fairly large facility with an upper and lower gym floor. I must say I’m overall beyond satisfied with my workout experiences with the Retro family and intend to be with them for many years to come!

I have been a member since 2012 and I have to say this is the only gym I will ever be using. The facility is always clean and the staff are always so welcoming. The atmosphere in this gym is just all around positive from the class instructors who motivate you to push yourself all the way to the friendliness of other members here. The nicest management in the whole corperation. I had an issue with one of the other clubs, I went into ramsey and the owner Doug fixed the problem two seconds flat. When you see owners who care like that it shows they appreciate their guests. Clean, large gym with two levels. Clean locker rooms 24 hours great classes and staff. Ten out of ten. And its CHEEP. IF YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT ANOTHER GYM FORGET IT.

I would give this gym a perfect score the gym is a great gym. Its got EVERYTHING you need. The people are awesome that both work for and work out here. The juice bar is awesome. The bathrooms are nice. Showers are efficient. And even a movie theater!. ... the only thing is how insanely COLD it is! A gigantic fan is one thing.. air conditioning is another... but both air conditioning thats freezing and a MASSIVE fan blasting freezing cold wind on you is almost unbearable. Its so hard to work out or focus on anything when your body is shaking uncontrollably.. They told me when I asked them if they could shut one of the two off that they couldn't because of the other members.. But everytime I talk to a member and ask them if they're cold they say it's freezing in here.. unless you like working out in tons of layers good luck..

One of the dirtiest facilities I've ever walked in to. Not only the equipment, but the staff too.

The bathrooms and lockers are absolutely hideous and reek. It's as if nobody cleans the showers.

To top it off, I had my locker broken into and things stolen, and after speaking up, the staff kept telling me to wait and speak to the manager another day. The day I finally spoke to him, he threatened to ban me from the gym because I was telling him how to do his job... you know, his job of making sure people aren't breaking into lockers. He wouldn't even check the cameras for me. Nothing but a red sack filled with roids. Goes by the name of Douglas-something. I can see someone else here is complaining about him in their review (It is pretty obvious that this low life is the going around stealing things).

I am glad my company relocated. I am now going to a much nicer facility and got to leave behind this pathetic cesspool.

Been working out here for years. Great facility, plenty of wipes and spray bottles to keep stuff clean. Most cardio equipment has TV with a fair selection of channels. Full set of free weights downstairs (could stand to add another dozen or so 45 lb plates, and 3-4 more barbells) but definitely better than the competition especially conisdering the space constraints. If you can get here outside of peak hours, you will be able to get a good workout. Be careful with the contracts though, they can be sneaky and ironclad

Very nice gym !!! I've been a member of the gym 4 months and I like it !!! The staff is always helpful and nice, you can sign up for several classes. They have a movie theater with cardio machines. The retro fitness gym could be the perfect place for almost everyone to work out.
