This is my second time working with Danielle, and it’s been a really positive experience. I’ve struggled with consistency in my workouts and with managing my weight, so I knew I needed some guidance. Anyone looking for a personal weight training coach, I highly recommend sammygunztraining and my personal trainor Danielle Lucente. Danielle is wholeheartedly dedicated, effective, and committed to helping you reach your goals. When I met Danielle I was at a very low place in my fitness. I had gained 40lbs., was on high blood pressure medication, and became pre-diabetic. I needed help and luckily I found Danielle.
It hasn't been easy for me or Danielle. She's created specific training programs and nutrition plans for me. It's taken me awhile to get fully on board with the program. My wife and I started training with Sammy Gunz and his wife Danielle in early April. I’m working with Sam and my wife with Danielle. They are both very knowledgeable about weight training and continue to challenge both of us at each session. My wife had never trained before and is gaining a lot of confidence and improving her form while getting stronger. I have been training for some time but felt I was not making any noticeable progress. I definitely see a difference since starting with Sam both in appearance but more importantly in strength. I wished I would came across Danielle and Sam earlier! Since I follow their plan and advices I feel better in my 40's then I did in my 30's.
I learned so so so much (still learning) and even that I live at the other side of the world it doesn't matter since the internet doesn't have any boarders.
I can ask for advice any time and they check in more then frequently. This is perfect because I have the feeling not only training for myself but also want to 'please' them; it's the feeling a personal trainer is standing behind you. It's the extra 'push' I need and the reason why I can force myself not to give up and/ or give that little extra.
From a woman who thought that being middle aged is the beginning of the end and her back pain because of 4 pregnancies would last forever....She turned into a woman that can run easily 5K and more, lift heavier and heavier, see her triceps (🙌) and toned muscles and is going to the gym for her own pleasure! (🙌❤️)
I am slowly getting into the best version of myself and I enjoy the process everyday.

61 year old female. Overweight and couch potato. I decided I need to at least try and gain my strength back especially in my arms and legs. This way I could start to exercise and not hurt and struggle. Been to trainers before and they did not know how to train an older woman. They killed me and I would wind up quitting because they did not know how to properly train someone that was not young and fit. Then I found Danielle! She listens to me and understands what I can and can not do. We are slowly building up to strengthen me and I feel it working. Do I like going? No. Do I hate it? No. That is a plus for me. Danielle is a fabulous personal trainer. Anyone looking to get back into shape or stay in shape would be in great hands with Danielle. I was looking to get back into fitness after 6 years of not working out. Before finding Danielle, I had tried a couple group fitness classes where I felt I was spending an hour on a workout that was not designed for me nor my bodies needs. I would leave those group classes feeling exhausted but not stronger or fit. Danielle showed me that I could tone my myself and become more fit without exhausting all my energy, and all within a half hour session! Danielle focuses on form and muscle contraction to build strength, and it works! After just a few sessions I feel the difference, I leave a half hour session feeling each muscle that Danielle worked out and I experience much less muscle fatigue when going about day to day activities since working out with Danielle. I appreciate her willingness to meet her clients where they are at and her helpful guidance in getting ones body in shape/improving endurance!

Thing I like here is that for one doesn't actually matter where you start, but how much effort you're willing to put in. Plus people are actually sociable, and opinions actually matter. Most recently, there was a class Sam mentioned, and instead of "oh screw it I'm just gonna put down at any time and who comes comes", there's actually attempts to gauge who's free and at what time to see when the most people can show. You don't see consideration like that everywhere, least of all gyms. Then again, planet fitness can screw off with that lunk alarm.

I called Sammy after doing a lot of research on different personal trainers. He was super helpful and encouraging and straightforward. I preferred working with a female trainer so he paired me up with Danielle. I had a lot of fear starting up training because I hadn’t worked out in a while and want sure I could do it. Danielle met me where I was at and helped me push myself but at a level that I was comfortable with. By the end of week one the gym became something I looked forward to instead of dreading. I noticed I had way more energy and was sleeping better. 2 months in I can see a big difference but more importantly I can feel a difference. I feel more at home in my body than I ever have and there is a palpable identity shift. I went from thinking I could never be one of “ those gym people”, to not feeling like myself when I don’t go. Sammy trains out of Fitness City in Matawan, which can be a little intimidating for non gym goers, but I assure you, Fitness City is the best gym around and doesn’t even compare to these commercial cookie cutter gyms. The atmosphere at fitness city makes you want to work out! The owner is super welcoming and remembered me by name even only after briefly meeting him one time. Sammy is an excellent trainer. You give him an idea of your goal, he looks at you, he understands what to target. He has a strong understanding for how to build muscle and cardio and how diet works in your equation. If there is an area of the body that is sore or weak, he seems to have the ability to work the muscles around the problem area allowing for it to recover and strengthening it at the same time.
Sammy trains out of an old school gym in Matawan. There is a mix of free weights and in the basement, equipment like u would find in a planet fitness or something. I noticed that the planet fitness type equipment helps you to keep your form. Sammy will most likely train you in the free weights, monitoring your form, spotting you and pushing you. He pretty much improvises the individualized workouts that he teaches.
The workouts are super focused and tiring. Tiring and focused in a way that a beginner would have difficulty achieving in a gym on their own.
The training is great, but all the knowledge gained is invaluable.

Though I tried out the place for the initial lesson, my comments are for lessons taken in our clubhouse.
This is my first time with a personal trainer and I'm retired for over 10 years. Sammy has always been prompt during the 5 lessons. He asked me about my goals, short-term and long-term objectives. One of them is to be self sufficient/mobile while I age. He always checked back how the previous day's lesson had been and my physical health afterward. Besides soreness, I've been doing more than fine. He tends to push me beyond my perceived limits but not much that I can't handle while he spotted me. It's nice to know that I could lift 70% of my weight lying on my back. The toughest part is a new set of vocabulary. I found that my lateral movement has definitely improved due to squatting exercise and other lower body work. My forearm slams in racketball sports are more powerful. The lessons also help build my confidence. Even my family noticed that I've no problem of ascending or descending a steep 15-step staircase. Overall, I found myself progressing at my own speed. You get what you sowed. I look forward to future lessons.
