SETS in Middletown is clean, well-equipped, and easily the best gym in an area full of options. The workouts are consistently challenging and thoughtfully programmed to push you without burning you out.

The coaches—Katie, Danielle, Becca, Louis, Khedive, and Michele—bring unmatched energy and expertise to every session, and Ryan, the owner, has truly created a sense of community that gives back and lifts everyone up.

The workout is amazing - it is very challenging, involving tons of equipment: trx, resistance bands, rams, kettlebells, bikes, rowers, ski machines, sleds, ropes, boxes, benches, etc. it changes every day, and the schedule let's you know in advance what body part will be focused on. The time in the gym goes fast, it's not boring, and while very challenging it is doable because you won't be doing any particular activity for longer than 4 - 6 min. The music is the trainer's choice but mostly great, no complains here. Additional bonus: the gym has a hill right outside and outside sprints uphill are incorporated quite nicely into the workout routine. People are great, everyone is nice, friendly and encouraging. Unlike F45, the trainer demonstrates the moves and offers options, so you don't have to rely on the cartoon. I would definitely rate it higher than F45 and Orangetheory because of the equipment options, variety and life demo, vs cartoon. It is more challenging (I have done both - I find F45 the easiest of the three, OTF is great if you love running, but its equipment is limited and it gets boring at times). There are interesting challenges and events, the trainers are awesome, I love it

My husband and I love Sets Middletown! I am returning to working out after a long break from a gym [couldn't find one that I liked/was close to me] and I finally found a winner. It was intimidating to start but I am glad I did.

I notoriously hate cardio and because they are hybrid classes you get to do a mix of strength and cardio and somehow it ends up being really fun. In the few months I've been working out here both my husband and I have seen big leaps in our strength and cardio health. We notice new wins every week! Every trainer is awesome and makes you feel like a million bucks. Thanks Sets!

I would 110% recommend SETS in Middletown! Right when you walk in you are greeted with the most positive coaches. I love everything about this work out plan. From the beginning warmups all the way to the burnouts. What encourages me are the amazing coaches. They make sure you are doing the correct form and give you pointers. When I think I can’t do something or lift that much weight, the coaches are my biggest cheerleaders that I can do it! They will challenge you in the best way. I’ve noticed a big difference in how I feel physically and mentally. If you are thinking of trying out SETS in Middletown, I would recommend it. You will have an incredible workout, listening to great music, the most encouraging coaches, pushing yourself in ways you didn’t know you could, and most importantly having fun.

I joined Sets in Middletown as a very inexperienced beginner. My first class was with Ryan and it was one of the best experiences. He was fantastic about modifications since I really had no idea what to expect. I have attended about 20 classes since then and each and every class has been amazing and I feel like each time I can do more than I did the last time. The coaches are awesome, energetic and definitely challenge me. I never feel like I’m out place there. There are athletes and people like me who are just getting started. I look forward to all the classes I go to.. every time a little nervous about what we’re in store for and then I leave feeling incredible, accomplished and excited for the next class. Joining Sets was something completely out of my comfort zone but my mental and physical health are really benefiting from my time there!

I am a past member of SETS Old Bridge, and I can not say enough great things about the coaches and classes there. The classes are group classes, but the coaches provide individual coaching and encouragement throughout the class. SETS is also a community - SETS teams participate in outside activities and whenever one of their members are going through hard times, the SETS family comes together to raise funds or awareness for the issue the person or their family is facing. SETS is an amazing gym. There’s a great mix of cardio and strength training and classes always provide an opportunity to challenge yourself- no two workouts are the same. There is a sense of community and I’ve made friends who I look forward to meeting in class every morning. The coaches are fabulous and so different from other coaches that I’ve had in the past- they are passionate about what they do and they are always willing to assist when needed- and there’s minimal turnover- clearly a sign of a well run business that knows how to treat their employees. SETS Middletown is a beautiful space. Ryan keeps everyone engaged and is very helpful, making sure everyone’s form is correct. Luis has great energy and is also helpful. The energy in the room is contagious. I’m doing exercises that I didn’t think I could do. While the classes are challenging, they push me to challenge myself, making modifications if need be. I am not a big workout person. I never liked doing the classes. Normally I am the type of guy that goes to the gym to do treadmill some weights , sauna ..etc. But my wife convinced me to try it out . Let me tell you something . Even her , that did Max challenge , T25 , LA classes..etc.. She is getting her behind kicked at SETS. The work out are fantastic the trainers are amazing. Very patient and they try to attend to everyone needs and change the work out for us to adapt. Amazing atmosphere, very private , no judgements. And you will feel your body taking the workout , you feel every muscle . I like the hours , classes are not overcrowded . You have to book your class .
All the trainers are fantastic, full of energy . Check it out .
