We’ve been at Swimquest since 2020 and they are great. Rocky, Cait, Caven and Jen have all taught my kids and I have nothing but good things to say. My oldest is such a confident and strong swimmer already (at 5 years old) and loves the water. I would 100% recommend Swimquest for anyone who wants safe and welcoming place for their kids to learn to swim.

Worth every penny. Each instructor is highly skilled. My daughter went from sinking like a stone when she started at age 3 to swimming like a fish in the water at 5. She got rid of her fear, learned water safety and now knows most strokes. All thanks to Swimquest. Very happy with this place!

SwimQuest Whippany is one of three swimming schools we have tried, and by far the best! We had to leave at one point because it was a little bit of a commute for us on a weeknight, but we are back at SwimQuest on a weekend class and love it! I have two young children, ages 4 and 7 going now, and they both love it! The classes here are more expensive than the other two we tried, but I think it is worth the money. My children learn skills in this school much faster than the others. The teachers and staff are great! Scheduling make up classes has never been a problem for us. Having nothing bad to report!

My son took swimming lessons back in 2019 and 2020 until pandemic hit. He made such a good progress only in few months. Not only he felt comfortable in water but also gained confidence that he can swim. We were very happy with SwimQuest but took a break because of COVID. When we were ready to come back we knew where to go. Right now my 8 year and 14 year olds boys take lessons and they are happy with their instructor. I like the fact the instructor is working on improving my older son's swimming techniques. Its a great facility and my boys never complained about cold water.

A cheaper gym that has a lot of the best parts of more expensive gyms, It has a pool, basketball court, classes, and a sauna in addition to the weights and cardio. It's my first choice for gyms in the area.

The one thing I do not like is they don't let you know ahead of time when the pool is taken by events so I ran into a lot of times I could not use the pool. This small gripe does not take away how much I like this gym.

Been going here 3-4 months. love small gym feel. Very clean as in I have seen employees cleaning weight plates and wiping down cardio machines. Never have to wait for a machine. locker room recently renovated. Nice pool, small indoor track, b-ball/v-ball, some classes, easy parking. I feel like I still find new amenities that I haven’t taken advantage of yet like tonight I used a punching bag. Wish they were open a tad later on sat and sun (close at 6) but other than that couldn’t be happier.

The newly redesigned bathrooms are inconvenient. They're really small and all the water from the shower is mostly flowing out. And having just shower curtains instead of the bathroom doors earlier is not a great idea either.

Stay away. This is the dirtiest gym with high employee turnover and worst cleaning crew you will find in the area. Rules are not enforced, women bring boys (3-5 y.o.+) into locker room instead of "family" rooms, showers are rarely, if ever, cleaned (I observed the same clumps of hair in the showers in same spots for few days in the row), people leave their funky smelling clothes incl.underwear in sauna, worn out/ripped carpet/floor/equipment on the gym floor. Broken locks and hooks in the bathrooms and shower stalls (so you can't hang a towel/clothes without getting them wet) - they have been broken for months. A few times paper towel holders were either empty or not working. There also seems to be a thriving colony of small flies (fruitflies?) in the showers.

In response to the owner- if you don't like 1 star reviews, do something that makes people want to leave 5 star reviews. I checked out Yelp and FB- there seems to be a trail of similar reviews. Rusted benches and lockers, broken locks/ hooks/paper holders in bathrooms/showers and ripped floors that don't get repaired and fixed - all of that doesn't exactly invite glowing reviews. A few times I saw your cleaning staff in the bathroom - she was on her iPhone, not cleaning. You should really do a walk through bathrooms/locker rooms/gym floor and be honest with yourself- how would YOU rate it as a customer? This is not an angry review , but a frustrated review, as nothing seems to be done about any of it. This gym has a great potential given its location and available amenities, but it has a long way to go. I know a few people who left it for these same reasons. I really do hope that the owner realizes that, listens to customers and turns it around with some renovations, better upkeep and customer service.

I joined golds gym at whippany New Jersey few weeks ago. I used the gym mainly for swimming I have to other gyms for the same purpose it has exceptional facility. I enjoy my workout ther very much so also other workout facilities are comprehensive and meet my requirements.

I have been a member for about 6 weeks now.

While I do like that it is not crowded when I use the gym. As a business person, I ask myself how do they make money, with such low attendance? Maybe like most gym memberships, many people join, but they don't consistently use the facilities, they pay to use.

The locker room facility is in a state of disrepair. Many lockers don't close properly. My big complaint is not with Zapp Athletics, but with other members. I have seen members leave their personal things on the benches in the locker room, while they are working out. This is done as if it is their personal space, with out regard for other members. I am always tempted when I see this, to place their things in an empty locker. Let them learn that it's disrespectful to others, to leave things on the benches, when other want to use them, with out others things cluttering the space up.

I have seen other members spit gum into the water fountain. I have seen things being left in the sauna to dry. Paper towels on the floor.Wet clothing items left behind in the lockers.

People who do things like this, obviously have had a very poor upbringing. Put bluntly, they are swines!

I would appreciate the management staying on top of things like this, and reminding people in the locker room, that they are not at home, and to be respectful of other patrons.

Simply put, this is the worst gym I have ever been to! Although the gym has a friendly front desk staff, good open hours, a pool, old school atmosphere, and is fairly empty when I workout in the mornings, the cons outweigh the advantages. For one, the staff has no regards in keeping this gym clean. I don't pay a gym membership to put weights away! Your cute little 'Please put your weights away' signs obviously don't work, so instead of being on your cell phones, why don't you monitor your members and rack the weights if they don't. Additionally, the floor by the dumbbell rack is completely trashed and uneven. This gym also has no regards for safety; bent barbells haven't been replaced since I joined over 8 months ago on top of broken equipment that has yet to be fixed. Also, this is the only gym I have seen have different brand/diameter 45lb plates. Still thinking of joining, just go check the men's locker room. It feels like showering in a prison; mildew and flies smashed against the walls...

I've been a member for 3.5 yrs now and it has been a positiv exp for me thus far. It has the amenities I need for my type of workout and fitness as well as the basketball gym where I can catch consistent pick up ball on Monday and Wednesday evenings. The staff has always been friendly and courteous and I have recommended other friends to join. Really enjoy the pool and aquatics center. There's almost always lanes open and both the pool and hot tub are well kept. The locker rooms and showers could be updated but are always clean. The only thing that could be improved is that during busy times with the swim schools, many women bring their sons into the ladies locker rooms to change even though there are family changing rooms. I wish they would really enforce the rules they have posted.

3 years ago switched from planet Fitness to Gold's Gym and I am very happy with the change. I don't feel like I'm being judged and watched and it's a down-to-earth place. It may not be in the best condition with the most high-tech equipment but I like the friendly staff specially Rockey is very inspring and best guard at the pool . There are trainers here personal . She introduced her self, asked me about my goals and asked me to go to one of his classes. i did go to classes they train well. they are very friendly employees at this facility.

2 employees told me I was able to cancel my membership at anytime. Upon canceling I was still charged the next month and told that my contract stated I needed to give 30 day notice. If I was told this from the start I would have given 30 days notice. Was straight up accused of lying about the employees telling me this. My mistake for not reading the contract and trusting their employees word. Based on previous reviews you can expect a rebuttal refuting my truthful statements. Gold's can keep my $30 if they need it that bad and hopefully use it to replace the ducktape handles on their paper towel dispensers...

Spent two years at this gym...pretty good facility, as they have a good weight lifting area and a swimming pool (for cardio). Also they have two basketball courts.

Had a billing issue, but management took quick steps to remedy the situation.

I recently switched from LA Fitness to Gold's Gym and am very happy with the change. I don't feel like I'm being judged and watched and it's a down-to-earth place. It may not be in the best condition with the most high-tech equipment but I like the simplicity. There is one specific trainer that approached my my first week because he didn't recognize me. He introduced himself, asked me about my goals and myself and asked me to go to one of his classes. He remembered me when I went to the class and it was a great workout. However, he is the only friendly employee at the facility. The rest pretty much ignore you.

I have been a member of Golds Gym for over a year now. I left Whippany and went to Hackettstown. 6 months later I came back to Whippany even though Hackettstown was closer to me. I came back to Whippany because the staff are friendlier. They are always available to assist you at anytime. The other Gold Gym never gave me a tour, told me about their classes or personal training. I have been training at Whippany for over 10 months and I have seen results. The trainers are knowledgable and attend to your goals and needs. They have a wide range of classes for different levels and intensity. Overall I am very satisfied with the gym, my trainer and staff!
