I absolutely love it here! There are classes for everyone, no matter where you are in your yoga practice. I hadn't been in a yoga class in more than a decade and I was comfortable right from the first class I took at The Movement. Each instructor is warm and welcoming and the other students are friendly. I feel right at home here!

An amazing place to get moving! I signed up for the new student special for a month of unlimited classes in December and they had a challenge to hit 31 classes in the month. I took a variety of classes with a few instructors (and tried the sauna which was amazing)! Matt, Allison, Jillian, Chelsea, Eric, Kelly, Kiersten, and Natalie were all great! Thank you all! Chrissy and her entire team really strive to be welcoming and are so positive during their classes to help everyone be comfortable in their practice. Move with breath has become my favorite class, with restorative sound bath coming in close for second. I love that they offer both in studio and livestream options on Zoom if you can’t make it in person.

The building itself is amazing and full of life and character with plants everywhere. You can bring your own gear or they have everything you need if you’re traveling light or new to yoga. I’d highly recommend this studio!

The Movement is the absolute most beautiful and accessible yoga studio in NJ, hands down. The yoga classes offered and the prices for classes are completely unbeatable. Class times are so convenient, ranging from early morning to late in the evening. The owner, Chrissy, is an absolute gem of a person! There are no unnecessary fees if you forget or don’t own a yoga mat. All equipment needed in classes are there for your use! The instructors are highly trained and eager to help. I can’t say enough great things about this place. The Movement is a yogis paradise!

I am so very fortunate and thankful to have found The Movement! The gracious owners, Chris and Chrissy, have transformed their magical yoga studio into a friendly, kind, and safe environment. Their instructors are knowledgeable, motivating, positive, encouraging, and energetic, and they’re there to guide you in a variety of classes of all levels.

I have met so many beautiful, inspiring souls of all ages at The Movement. This year, I had the opportunity to be part of the Nature Retreat to Costa Rica at Tiskita Lodge, which Chrissy and Amy host. It was truly a transformative experience that I will forever cherish. Keep your heart open 🫶🌹

When I walked into The Movement in 2018, I knew I was home. It truly is therapy for me. Chrissy and Chris have created a magical sanctuary for everyone. The community here is vibrant, loving, connected, energetic and magnetic. No matter where you are in your practice, you will feel at home here just like I did as a beginner to yoga six+ years ago.

I’ve taken countless classes in person, through live stream and on recording. The studio has a vast offering of incredible teachers that will meet you with a smile and care for you and your practice. The support is unmatched here - from the teachers, owners, fellow students, and more. There are also so many class types and offerings - there’s truly something for everyone!

The teacher trainings offered here are masterfully created and executed. I am currently in the process of the 200HR YTT and no words can describe how transformative this experience has been for me. I’d started to deepen my practice, but now I have so much more. I’ve heard unique perspectives from absolutely fantastic guests and made lifelong connections with my Kula. The experience is life changing in the best way possible. Chrissy is a wealth of knowledge and a natural leader. Through her I’ve gained copious amounts of information not only on yoga but on life. She is a healer and a great guide.

Consider this your sign to join The Movement if you haven’t already!!

The Movement has something for EVERYONE!! Chris and Chrissy have created a warm community and that extends through each instructor and the individuals that show up to take classes! Some of my deepest healing has been in this studio. When I can’t make it in person, I can grab my favorite recordings!!

The 2024 In Nature Retreat to Costa Rica✨ is something that is so transformative words nor pictures can truly describe! Aside from the breath giving scenery, the atmosphere and accommodations are meticulously thought out! Tiskita Lodge is the perfect location with kind spirits, delicious food, and lots of jungle to explore! Chrissy and Amy created the most remarkable experience through meditation and yoga practices, excursions, and more!

I'm so lucky to have walked into this space a year and a half ago, it has truly changed my life for the better. From the studio space in the old mill building to the plethora of plants that are everywhere, The Movement has its own vibe. A complete reflection of the owners, Chrissy and Chris who are welcoming and kind. The staff follows that example and offers students a wide variety of class styles and personalities, so there's a little for everyone.
I'm in the middle of Yoga Teacher Training at The Movement and I couldn't have made a better choice for the training. Lead by Chrissy and a few other instructors, I've amplified my own practice physically, mentally and spiritually. I'm truly grateful for this experience.
I can tell you how amazing this place is until I'm blue in the face but you should really see for yourself.

I decided to try The Movement back in 2021 and I’ve never left. When you walk into this studio you are immediately family. The community that Chrissy and Chris have fostered is electric, warm, inviting, and will move you in so many ways. There are people of all levels who practice here and all of the teachers are incredible.

I did not have any prior experience in yoga, barre, or pilates before walking into this studio. It’s wild to think how one decision to try something new has changed me for the better. Since joining I’ve taken the barre training and am in the process of taking the 200 hr yoga teacher training. Both trainings have had a lasting impact and have been in many ways life changing for me. This studio is so much more than a workout.

Chrissy has an absolute gift to teach others and to share her gift. You may join this studio for the vibe, the workout, or to try something new but I assure you, you’ll find a home away from home here where you’re encouraged and supported to grow in your practice physically but mostly spiritually.

So thank you, movement fam! 💛 so grateful for you!!

I’ve been a member at The Movement for almost 1.5 years and it has changed me. from the first visit (my friend and I joined together) everyone was so welcoming. Chrissy and Chris do a fenomenal job of building a community of people who care about others and ones well being. The classes are great. Instructors are on point with the classes they teach. I’ve tried Barre, Core, Pilates, Yoga, Sound Bath, Spin and the sauna. I was lucky this March to join one of their InNature retreats which was so very special. Chrissy & Amy did an amazing job planning the trip. I highly recommend trying a class (or join an event) at the Movement, I think you will throughly enjoy the experience.

There are so many amazing things to say about this studio :)

The space itself is incredibly calming and welcoming, both because of how the studio is designed and also the fact that the building it’s housed in is centuries old. I feel connected to history when I’m there.

The classes and other offerings that Chrissy has curated are diverse and fun, allowing you to choose your own intensity each day and form a well rounded program to fuel your overall wellness.

Most importantly, the teachers at the movement are fantastic, and cultivate the lightheartedness and inclusivity that make this studio truly a gem in our world.

I cannot say enough great things about The Movement! Chrissy and the rest of the staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable. I have truly found my “me” time through the movement fam. The atmosphere is so welcoming and peaceful. The classes are so versatile and available virtually or through recordings for a later time. If you are looking for something to be part of I highly recommend joining the studio :)

Coming back post retreat life to add to this review. Joined the movement family for the Costa Rica retreat for 2024. It was nothing short of simply amazing. Chrissy and Amy clearly pour their hearts and souls into every part of the retreat life! The environment and activities they carefully procured is exactly what you need to come home feeling refreshed, restored, and maybe finding out a little bit more about yourself. I thought I couldn't love the studio and this community more, the retreat proved to me wrong. Should you be afforded the opportunity to join this amazing team on a retreat I would highly recommend it!

Dorothy taught us as humans that "there is no place like home", highlighting love, peace, and comfort of one's own world.

Similarly, there is no yoga environment in NJ that exists like The Movement.
A place that produces and showcases unparalleled experiences, instructors, and vibes.

I am very grateful to have found a place that checks off all the boxes -- this place becomes a sanctuary for each visitor who chooses to practice here!

The Movement is a wonderful, magical place with alchemical vibes. Your workout will be more than a workout, it will be a transformative experience. Their teacher trainings encourage you to find your own style and give you exactly what you need. The owner, Chrissy, puts a lot of thought into the studio and instructors and it shows in the classes, the design, the plants, and the people. There is also a variety of classes to keep you engaged and consistent. The gift/plant store has all kinds of goodies to treat yourself after a great workout!

Obsessed with The Movement! My partner and I were looking for a yoga studio in NJ and we happen to find this hidden gem right in our backyard. Since day one we have been impressed with the studio and all the diverse classes they have to offer. We are now there probably 5 times a week supplement to our gym routine. In addition to a zen atmosphere what we love most about The Movement has to be the instructors (the owner even teaches a few classes). Chrissy, Heather, Francesca, and Eric to name a few all have been amazing they are true instructors and coaches. Starting our mornings and ending our work days at The Movement are our new ritual. Thank you Chris and Chrissy for being amazing owners and sharing this experience with us here in NJ!

I’ve been to plenty of gyms and workout classes. NOTHING COMPARES! I’ve been coming for about 3 weeks now and I love it here. All the instructors are so nice and welcoming. The environment alone makes you want to come back. Very relaxed feeling which is great while working out. There’s also a coffee shop below the studio to grab a coffee after your workout, win win!

The classes are rather non-engaging. I had gone twice, and the instructors did not greet me. It felt like I was taking a YouTube class. I also did not feel incredibly challenged - there were no major modifications suggested, and corrections weren't given frequently.

The cycling class format was also a bit odd. It was much easier than other cycling classes or even Peloton recordings. The room has a small TV that plays an outdoor video as you cycle and has maybe 5 bikes, but you're essentially just biking at leisure for the 30 minute session.

At either rate, both times I went I came and left dissatisfied. I wasn't greeted or asked my name, there was no one present at the front desk when I arrived the first time and was lost, and nobody noticed me there or asked how either of my classes were. This wasn't the boutique experience or challenge I was hoping for. I plan to just use my trial month without extending, if I do return.

I did a drop in studio session for Breathe In Yoga and for my first time doing Yoga, this place was top notch!! The environment felt very comfortable and relaxing, the instructor ( I believe her name was Lindsay) was phenomenal as she guided easily and briefly talked to me before the class about how it works and made it very smooth to follow. This place offers so much more as far as sessions in spin studios, Pilates and even a sauna machine! The vibe here felt extremely welcoming and very at ease. The end of the yoga session was followed up by a nice meditative lay down with relaxing music which ultimately allowed me to reflect and shed a tear ;') .... if you want to give Yoga a chance, I recommend coming to this place for its relaxed environment with experience instructors!

I joined The Movement before it even opened. Great impulse decision. What Chrissy, the owner, has created is nothing short of magical: A welcoming work-out environment that makes folks of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities feel comfortable. When Chrissy says, “We want you well,” she means it. Even through the pandemic, she continued to expand classes and services to meet the needs of the community. We are incredibly lucky that she chose Allentown as the home for her studio. Its location in the Old Mill building, above the adorable vegan coffee shop, The Moth, is just an added bonus. I tried yoga at every decade of my life. But it wasn’t until I joined The Movement that it really resonated with me. I have a monthly pass which gives me the ability to try new classes without the risk of feeling like I’m “wasting” money. By exploring ALL of the offerings in the schedule, I’ve discovered some new interests…who knew I would enjoy barre class? And, this summer I decided to enroll in the 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training offered through Chrissy. Something unimaginable 3 years ago! I don’t think it’s hyperbolic to say that The Movement has changed my life.

The Movement is a wondrous place. It’s housed in an old mill which makes it a one-of-a-kind studio. The owners, Chrissy and Chris, have done everything to make this studio special and welcoming and it shows. Walking through the doors immediately gives me a sense of peace. What’s even better? Chrissy and Chris are incredibly kind and genuinely care about their clients. If yoga’s not your thing, they have a variety of other classes and they also have awesome merch! The Movement IS a fitness revolution driven by the community’s heart and soul. Chrissy truly loves and listens to the needs of the community and adjusts the studio’s offerings to flow with whatever healing modality they are asking for. Want diversity in wellness? Be the change you seek. Want to heal with plant medicine or infrared sauna? It’s there for you, AND it’s affordable unlike so many other spa and gym/fitness places. I’m so excited to see the new treehouse spin studio ... it really sounds like an adventure unlike no other. No matter what class you’re taking, or just coming to heal in the cozy nature like setting, you are at home and you are loved. There is no place in NJ like The Movement. I just love practicing and being there with the fam. All are welcome, and all are received. I always leave rejuvenated and better than when I started.

So I've been doing yoga in a studio setting for 15 years. I've practiced in multiple area studios and participated in a number of community classes over those years. I can honestly say, the best instructors I've had, have been through this studio. In part due to their knowledge, but also due to their genuiness. You don't find that kind of warmth often. It's clear the owners takes pride in the teachings, and it shows in the supporting staff. Not to mention, walking in to the studio any day feels soothing, inviting, and alive. It's lovely!

beautiful place. so pretty and the place has a great vibe. I would say however that it's not a very diverse place to look for a yoga community. The instructors are mostly white women and one of the times I walked into class a woman looked at me and asked where I was from, I told her my dad is Peruvian and she said something along the lines of "I could see something exotic in you!" it was weird. I wouldnt call it a super comfy place for bipoc. not outwardly unkind but it's just super white (if youre comfortable with that then it's not a problem!). A lot of the classes I took were just filled with beautiful blonde skinny white women, which just isnt my vibe! But like I said it is a gorgeous place :)

The teachers are very nice and knowledgeable about the classes they teach. I personally don't like how many people they pack into the classroom. It could be around 10-12 people in a 10ftx25ft space including the decor. There wasn't much room to move around when the room was packed. Also, when they schedule classes back to back they cut the time of the classes down. A 1-hour listed class becomes a 45 minute class because the next class needs to set up before it starts. You still pay the same price for the 45 minutes as you do the 1 hour. They need to stagger their classes by 15 minutes so each class can be a full hour and not be cut short.
