Don't be fooled by the 5 star reviews, this gym has poor quality equipment, something is always broken. Be careful of signing their predatory contracts! I pay $165/month and have been banned from this location for expressing my concerns with their hygiene, equipment status and poor customer service! Funny part is I must continue paying AND I am unable to use the gym! Go figure!

First off I’m surprised how this place went from 3.5 stars to 4.6 in a matter of weeks. I’m sure it has to do with some campaign. Let’s start with customer service. This place is part of UFC yet it operates as an independent gym. I pay $165/ month elite membership to be able to access any gym in the country, yet here I was kicked out because I didn’t “sign up with them”. I was approached multiple times and even harassed to change my membership, yet I refuse to do this due to their equipment (photos will be posted). The reason I come here is for sauna sessions which my main UFC gym does not have unfortunately (although I spoke to the owner that they are working on installing a sauna).

There seems to be some internal conflict between franchisees which unfortunately, us members are caught in the crossfire. Do not sign up here, not worth the hassle. The owner is very authoritarian and does not care about membership packages. I hope corporate takes action, this gym is tainting the name of UFC.

This place is amazing. There is a variety of machines and is a big place. Includes all the weights, has a boxing ring, punching, sauna, and even offer classes. There is a smoothie area, and a barbershop and facial spa. It’s crazy how much they have here and the workers are nice and welcoming. Muay Thai classes are super fun and make starting really easy. The effort given by the staff shows, Valery is funny and nice. The gym is consistently managed and rarely disappoints. Never have had issues with machines being out of order for extended periods of time or neglected facilities. All around a great place to lift, a fantastic place to pick up martial arts, and a solid place to get a haircut from the in house barber shop.

I signed up for a membership at this gym a few months ago. Before joining, I clearly stated that there was a strong possibility I would be relocating, and therefore requested a no-contract membership. The manager at the time agreed to this and assured me that my membership would be month-to-month. I was also informed of a promotion offering two months “free,” contingent upon paying an annual service fee—which I accepted.

Recently, I returned to cancel my membership and was told that my account was under a contract. When I asked to speak with the manager who assisted me, I was informed that he no longer works at this location and was fired. I was then told I would need to pay my remaining balance in full in order to cancel.

This is a highly unethical way to conduct business. It is unacceptable to make verbal commitments to members and then later reverse those terms—especially when the original agreement was a deciding factor in joining. I intend to file a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau regarding this matter and the misleading practices I experienced.

The gym owner Raj is awful. The last couple weeks he hasn’t turned the air condition on and you can barely breathe in the gym. The inside temperature of the gym is 80 degrees. The space was open, weights were neatly stacked, and the overall setup left a great first impression. After this quick "first impression," I was considering joining! So, 10/10 for the gym itself.
• Unfortunately, my opinion quickly changed due to the lack of professionalism I encountered. There were two young female employees who made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome at this establishment. I have never seen them before, and I do not know who they are. One of them, who appeared to be off the clock, followed my partner and me around to multiple stations, all while giving us uninviting, almost hostile stares. As I was leaving, there was a different employee. She didn't say goodbye or acknowledge me at all, which was surprising—especially since it’s common gym etiquette to be greeted upon entry and exit. Instead, I was stared down from the moment I passed her until I walked out the door. It felt more like I was being watched than welcomed.
• Before writing this extensive review, I took time to consider my experience. I spoke to a friend who also goes to this gym, my trainer (who has visited a few times), and 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰𝐬. This seems to be a recurring issue, particularly among female members.
• Overall, I am beyond shocked and disappointed by the treatment I received. I expected the staff to foster a welcoming, 𝐧𝐨𝐧-𝐣𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, but that was not the case. Instead, I left feeling uncomfortable, unwelcome, and discouraged from returning.

Signed up for a year, and it was fairly priced for what you got in return. My favorite part was that this place is never PACKED like lifetime or planet fitness, which is a 10/10, in my opinion. The saunas were a bit run down and could desperately use an update. Staff is the majority of the time polite and helpful, some wont even hesitate to step into the ring and train you if they have the time. The majority of the machines were well kept, but some show signs of heavy wear but there are sometimes 2 of the same machine so even if one was a lil worn or busy you sometimes had the option to hop on another. The locker room was well cleaned and tidy, although some lockers were busted and broken. All in all, I'd give this place a solid 8 out of 10 on the gym rat scale. This is probably the best bang for your buck out of the majority of gyms in the area.

Personal trainers there are lazy and I pay 400$ for someone to be on the phone and miss counts on my reps. Changes my time to train without notifying me(found out thru my email reminder). Manager isn’t punctual on returning calls giving very avoidant energy but is quick to try and process a payment on Christmas Day of all days. I used to go to this gym 3yrs ago and never had this issue. If u are a professional or have had a professional trainer before, don’t come here you will be very disappointed and forced into a 3 month plan w someone lazy and unqualified

If you ignore the aloofness of the staff especially the little girls at the front desk and have it in your head that you are just there to workout then it is alright. The equipments are not up to par, dirty, worn or broken. Garbage stays full which is UNSANITARY. I have been to gyms where the staff go around and wipe down, dust off and sweep up ever few hours. If the owner addresses complaints, and fixes things so no one injures themselves within a reasonable time then this gym will have no competition.

I recently joined the UFC gym in North Brunswick, NJ and I have been blown away by the experience. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, always willing to help and motivate me during my workouts and helping me achieve my fitness goals. The gym has a great sense of community, making me feel like I belong and encouraging me to push myself even harder. I love the variety of activities offered at the gym and the fact that it is open 24 hours, allowing me to work out whenever it fits into my schedule. Overall, I highly recommend the UFC gym in North Brunswick to anyone looking for a challenging and supportive fitness environment.

The care and upkeep at this gym is disgusting. I was in the Muay Thai classes (excellent coaches and wonderful people in the classes) for the last year but the gym owner does not maintain anything and I am not willing to even give this gym two stars for my love of the Muay Thai classes because I am that appalled by how this gym is run.

The mats got water damage back in June 2024 and have become a massive safety hazard (tripping/falling hazard and a staff member confirmed there is mold under the mats) and has yet to be addressed, slowly getting worse over time. The owner, Raj, always says it is going to be addressed “next week” but never actually fixes it. He has gotten very used to telling people what they want to hear and then putting them on the back burner. There are also screw and bolts exposed in the mat for someone to step on and get injured. In addition, the mats are not cleaned regularly but classes have to be conducted barefoot for proper training (people in the classes are always leaving class with the bottoms of their feet black and covered in dirt/grime) and we are not even provided materials for us to clean the mats (even though we pay a good chunk of change to go this gym and shouldn’t have to clean the mats ourselves and someone should be hired to maintain the cleanliness of these mats to avoid the spread of viruses and bacteria).

The boxing ring is always broken (frame parts slipping out, dips and soft spots in the mat, mats are always separating causing falling hazards, etc) yet the owner says it’s safe to spar in the ring and constantly ignores requests for it to be fixed properly. Raj had even gone as far to tell me that it was my coaches responsibility to get the ring fixed (if I got injured it wasn’t going to be the coach I was suing for premises liability, so make that make sense). Not to mention, the canvas on top is filthy. You can clearly see it was originally black from the edges and it is now a beige color. It is never cleaned, never rotated out with another canvas, and again there is nothing provided to the members to even try to clean it.

There are always sanitizer sprays and/or paper towels missing and the hand sanitizers never have anything in them. When you ask a staff member to replace or fill them up it takes days for it to actually get addressed. At one point I went to three different areas and there was no spray in sight. The treadmill areas went over a week without the paper towels or sprays being refilled, even with me going everyday to a staff member and asking (Raj included, and it still didn’t get addressed). This is also an issue when it comes to the soap and paper towels in the restrooms as well (both men and women have complained about it, and it makes you wonder how often the staff is washing their hands if this is so often overlooked).

The equipment is always broken and not maintained. The Ladder Machine has had an “Out of Order” sign on it for over two months now. There are 7-8 ellipticals and only two fully work (they don’t turn on, they off the tracks, they only do one function, etc). The same with the treadmills always not working properly. The row machines do not work, nor do a majority of the bikes. The padding is wearing down on machine were you have to layer up to avoid hurting your skin (some of them are so worn that you can see the mold spores in them). The woman’s sauna is always touch and go and frequently out of order.

The amount of gum on the floors here is awful. Off a glance you do not notice because the gum is so old it is black on a dirty, black floor, but there is gum everywhere by the weights. The woman’s bathroom has had the same piece of gum, dead center on the floor, for weeks and there has been a piece of gum on the seat in the woman sauna for months. There’s gum on the Muay Thai mat (where we walk barefoot) that has been there for months as well.

It’s disappointing to pay extra money, not just to use the gym but to go to classes, and to see that money is not reinvested back into the gym in the slightest. Don’t let the social media fool you.

I spent 1 year at UFC North Brunswick and had to leave as I was moving to another state. I highly recommend anyone and everyone who are in proximity to the gym. This place provides such positive environment and helps one to become the best of their capacity both physically and mentally. I joined UFC Gym about 3 years ago and couldn't be happier with my decision. The facility is top-notch, offering a wide range of equipment and classes tailored for all fitness levels. Enjoy working out here tried other gyms in area was way to crowded and not enough weights for everyone to use plus if you have a gym bag can’t leave it just anywhere. At UFC you feel like home not overly crowded and you know everyone so feel safe enough to put your stuff down anywhere. Staff and owner are good people you can ask them anything.

I have been going here for at least a year and the vibe has always been great. They have classes like Mui thai which gives me the chance to be better a fighter. They have a ton of equipment and hold special events like fighting and celebrity meet and greets. Plusssss my personal favorite is they have a sauna.

Absolutely love this gym! Variety of equipment, sauna and posing room. Staff are extremely friendly! Gym is usually never packed which is very convenient. The environment is overall great, friendly and hardcore!

The Gym is ok, the jiu jitsu program is world class. The men’s room could be better, the drinking fountain has not been turned back on since Covid. The worst thing about the gym is they sometimes burn this awful smelling incense. Please stop the smoke from the burning incense and put in some nice citrus or something like that.

Nice spacious gym, rarely feels crowded, but there is no water fountain and the sauna in the women’s room has not worked for like 2 months. Now that it’s winter I am strongly considering canceling my membership due to no sauna and getting the run around every time I ask about it

I've been training for over 15 years and been to countless amount of gyms. Ufc gym is the best one I've been to by far. People think this is only a ufc gym but they have the best workout equipment. All of the staff there are amazing I've gotten to know them personally. -Anthony Z
