Yoga Loka has been Frenchtown's Yoga studio for more than 15 years. Since 2003, Yoga Loka has provided a nurturing, non-competitive environment. We accommodate all skill levels and offer an eclectic mix of classes and workshops. We seek to make Yoga accessible to everyone.
Our studio's foundation draws upon the principles of Shree Vidyaa. Shree Vidyaa is an ancient practice that guides Yogis towards spiritual liberation. So Yoga Loka's classes sometimes include the reciting of mantras and pranayama. Harnessing prana through pranayama, mantra and meditation, calms discomfort and stress.
Yoga Loka's classes also adhere to the principals of Structural Yoga Therapy, created by Mukunda Stiles. Structural Yoga is designed to relieve pai

What a month it has been! I learned not having a membership at Yoga Loka greatly impacted my physical and emotional health. I have found a way to have a monthly membership again and look forward to being in class many times each week.
Thank you Bonnie for what you create for me and all of us who find our way to you and Yoga Loka!
With great gratitude- Sue

Yoga Loka! I couldn’t live without you! I’ve been practicing yoga with Bonnie and her team for more than five years and it has been a life changing experience. Well into my 50’s, I believe that my body is the strongest it’s ever been. I have put Yoga (at Yoga Loka) at the top of my personal priority list and have not regretted that decision!

I am so grateful that I found Yoga Loka. I have been searching for a new yoga studio and I felt like I arrived “home” as soon as I walked in for my first class. All of the students are friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere is warm and inviting and the retail shop rocks. Most importantly, Bonnie is a treasure. She is a gifted teacher who offers modifications for physical postures and creates a calm, spiritual atmosphere. I feel more connected to my body, mind and spirit as a result of her classes. With gratitude, Rocky

I love Yoga Loka in Frenchtown. Bonnie and her crew are SO very knowledgeable and treat us as different individuals while running a class. And in my 60’s I didn’t expect to regain the limberness I had when I was younger, but I did! Their kind compassion helped me feel comfortable there from the beginning and I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

Bonnie holds a wonderful measure of professionalism and warmth. Her depth of knowledge, experience and her continuation in being a student make her a trustworthy guide to usher you along in your practice. Yoga is so much more than moving through asanas (poses) and Bonnie practices and guides you along all the other limbs of Yoga too. You’ll love Yoga Loka - don’t wait.

Yoga Loka is an amazing yoga studio! So amazing that it’s inspired me to write my first Google Review. Why? Because a finding an authentic yoga studio is an incredible & rare gift. And I am so grateful to have found it, and in particular Yoga Loka’s founder Bonnie Pariser who along with being an incredible teacher is also truly exceptional healer. Bonnie’s intricate knowledge of the workings of the human body, and the mind, and how to support and encourage self-exploration and healing is breathtaking in its depth. Just recently I experienced a bout of debilitating back and hip pain and within a months time Bonnie has gotten me back onto my yoga mat and my meditation cushion with an new understanding of how I can continue to support healing and proper alignment. The continuous stream of offerings from Yoga Loka – everything from diving deeply into yogic texts and philosophies, to mindfulness and meditation practices, to releasing tension and trauma stored in the body, to exploring all aspects of our bodies & minds - provides endless opportunities for continued healing and growth on all levels – body, mind & spirit!

I travel a fair distance to practice at Yoga Loka — it is worth the drive! Bonnie’s teachings are steeped in tradition, infused with humor, and never feel routine. Beginners and experienced students practice side by side, modifications and challenges are plentiful, as are individual cues to avoid injury, or safely deepen a pose. Workshops ranging from Tremoring to Back Care to Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy are rich enough to revisit at various stages of practice. The meditation clinics are particularly wonderful (we even get to play outside!) as are the immersion programs, teacher trainings and opportunities for private instruction — I’ve tried them all! Zoom classes are taught as well as they possibly could be, and have only increased opportunities for practice during complicated times.
Go there (or log on)… and exhale 🧘♂️🙏🧘♀️

Every time I finish a class I think "she designed this class just for me. How did she know this is exactly what I needed?" Then I find out this is exactly what everyone else in the class feels! I start Bonnie's class each time like a typical jaded New Yorker feeling the pressures of all the stressors of life and work. Bonnie brings sincere energy to each class and connects with all of her students meeting even the most miserable (that could definitely be me) where they are at emotionally and physically - to help you reconnect with the peace, strength, and power that you had buried down deep inside and forgot. She is also not preachy like a lot of yoga places can be. You could be a tri-athlete or a still trying to lose 30 or 50 pounds before the next big family get together. It doesn't matter. Everyone is welcome. I start the yoga class full of worries and a swirl of emotions and stress . When I finish, I am relaxed but yet I am also feeling the high of endorphins. Its yoga, its therapy- its the best its Yoga-Loka.

Yoga Loka and Bonnie are the real deal. I’ve been to several studios throughout my yoga journey and Yoga Loka is hands down my favorite. Welcoming atmosphere, a place where both beginners and experienced practitioners can feel comfortable, yet challenged. Classes and workshops are designed with great care and respect to the tradition they came from.

I love this studio! I’ve taken many classes and workshops here over the years, and each one has been a gem. If you are looking for a physical practice, a spiritual practice, or a combination of both, you will find it at Yoga Loka. Everyone, from beginners to advanced practitioners, is welcome in this beautiful, warm, supportive space. The teacher-training/immersion program is superb!

Love Yoga Loka! After I retired I needed a new place to practice yoga that was convenient to home and not work. I tried out several and settled on Yoga Loka, and I am glad I did. Bonnie is a fantastic teacher. She has great knowledge of the body and the physical side of yoga and I have learned so much about my body from her. Her classes are always interesting. She is also very knowledgeable of the spiritual side of yoga. Her studio offers something for everyone and he has developed a good sense of community. Bonnie has been a god-send during Covid, transitioning to online, to outdoor and then back to in-person and back to on-line seamlessly and helping keep us all sane.

Like no other yoga studio! I've been attending classes at Yoga Loka for 15 years. Bonnie has a knack for balancing the structural aspect of yoga with the spiritual side of the practice, so that students leave class feeling adjusted on many levels. Every class is unique, and yet the comfort of well-known asana is the main thread in class.

Teacher Training & Yoga Immersion 2019/2020 - As with many yoga and spiritual practices, I’m not entirely sure if I chose to do this program, or it chose me! Regardless, I’m grateful I dedicated my time to this intense and enriching experience. In our lives we don’t always have the luxury to learn by choice so it’s truly a gift when we do so. I learned about the body and how it benefits by moving in asana and the many layers required to put together a beneficial yoga class. We also extensively investigated the spiritual side of yoga which I’ve found helpful for my everyday life and general well-being. The curriculum is nicely balanced between asana and sadhana so that you receive both physical and mental benefits. I bonded with my classmates over the weeks and will forever treasure my journey with them. It was great to learn from fellow students as well especially since they represented a wide age range. Best of all, I walked away with some forever friends.
You may think you don’t have the time to do this but if you make it a priority, you will. It’s a transforming experience. Bonnie warns you that you will never experience a yoga class the same way again. She’s right because instead you will be a better student and draw more out of every future yoga endeavor. I have changed my practice to better fit my needs and I’m excited to take all I have learned and move on to my next self-improvement adventure.

Yoga Loka is a wonderful yoga studio. I recently completed my 200 hour teacher training program with Amarjyothi (Bonnie Pariser). It was a transformative experience. The teachers and students that frequent this studio create such a loving and supportive community. Amarjyothi instills a wealth of knowledge into her students and is greatly encouraging throughout the training. I was lucky enough to find this studio and feel very grateful for all it has given me.

Yoga Loka is the real deal! The teachers are well versed in, and include, all the branches of yoga. Classes center and ground you, enhance your strength and flexibility in both mind and body, and inspire you to continue to learn more! Modifications and a non-competitive atmosphere allows individualization for the new to experienced practitioner. The healthy dose of blissful relaxation during svasana completes your experience completely!

After more than 30 years of practicing yoga and trying many different styles and studios, I've found a home at Yoga Loka. Much more than asana for exercise, although the skill and quality of teaching will enable you to learn more about your own body and its connection to energy, mind and spirit. A wonderful community in the charming town of Frenchtown.

I first attended a class about a year ago, after having won a gift certificate. I had somewhat typical fears - I'm overweight, I'm not flexible, I don't know anything about yoga. I was immediately made welcome & comfortable, the first class was a gift. The atmosphere is inviting, peaceful and full of energy. The warmth & caring of other students was unexpected. AmarJyothi and the other teachers do a wonderful job of guiding an asana class to suit the needs of the varied students. A year ago, I had a "lower back" issue that was significant. Through yoga, I learned the cause of the pain to be weakness in other areas of the body. The lower back pain disappeared after a few months of practice. The teachings, such as Structural Yoga Therapy, can be done anytime, anywhere to improve one's health and wellbeing. Yoga Loka is not limited to physical/body practice, workshops geared towards the mind and spirit are also available. There is no intimidation, just welcoming souls on a shared journey of discovery. Come experience a class, a workshop, a private session - whatever may be of interest. I did that and now my practice at Yoga Loka a central part of my life.

I LOVE Yoga Loka!! The beautiful space looks out over my cozy hometown...the teachers are wonderful...the mood is welcoming and warm. I have been practicing yoga for about 20 years...and I've been studying under Bonnie/AmarJyothi's tutelage since the very early years of her teaching...before the studio...when we met in a tiny room here or there. It has been a wonderful journey. I've learned so much about myself, my body, and my mind. My yoga practice has brought me innumerable gifts, and I am indebted to Yoga Loka for so many of those gifts. My favorite class used to be Sunday morning, and I still love that class...but I'm also a big fan of Wednesday and Friday mornings, too. Sometimes it can be difficult to GET to class, to motivate...but as I often say, I have NEVER in all these years gone to a class and been anything but thrilled that I went. Come practice with us!

I began attending classes at Yoga Loka about one year ago, to address my limited flexibility and low back pain. My experience has far exceeded my expectations. There is a very welcoming environment and I did not feel the least bit uncomfortable about my limitations. AmarJyothi is an exceptionally knowledgeable and compassionate teacher. She was able to recognize physical imbalances and suggest appropriate modifications to the postures, to address my unique issues. Her students receive a great deal of individual attention. After just one year, my low back pain has subsided and my range of motion has greatly increased. Instruction at Yoga Loka does not focus solely on the physical. The emotional and spiritual wellbeing of the individual is central. I leave each class feeling renewed and inspired. I'm so grateful that I've found such a great teacher and yoga studio! If you are seeking private instruction or looking to take group classes, I highly recommend Yoga Loka.

I came to Yoga Loka via an injury, looking for a way to heal my unhappy hamstring and sciatic problem. Bonnie worked with me and within a couple of months I was on the way to mending not only my physical challenges, but my life challenges. My whole life has changed for the better, the yoga philosophy really resonates with me. I have been going to Yoga Loka now for 2.5 years and the atmosphere is very nurturing and welcoming. I highly recommend a visit.
