I was stuck in a rut. I sat all day long at my desk job and had issues losing weight and finding time to work out. I tried many fad diets like Keto and Atkins. I worked with a dietitian and doctors, but I was unable to lose even one pound. I’d try to be perfect, weighing my food and counting every calorie, but I usually became overwhelmed and quit.
On my own, I didn’t work out very well. I’d lose track of reps, ignore my form, and end up injured. I would make excuses not to work out, and I didn’t see any results. The only time I could stick to a routine was when I was in a structured class setting. But even then, any change in the schedule would throw me off track. I didn’t think it was possible to get more movement or lose any weight.
Then I started working with Clara. She helped me make small, incremental changes. I liked knowing I could reach out with wins or struggles and have someone there to offer suggestions. We started with simple things like using a timer to focus on my form and identify areas of weakness. She also emphasized the importance of moving more throughout the day, even small things like taking short breaks to stretch or walk around during the workday. This really made my whole day more active.
I love the workouts. They don’t feel like torture, and they seem to go by fast. I am able to check off each exercise and feel accomplished at the end. They are broken down into manageable chunks, and I can easily track my progress. Each week, we review what worked and what didn’t, and I've gradually built up my strength and endurance.
One of my biggest breakthroughs came when I started eating breakfast. It gave me energy, and I was less cranky with my work. I was amazed at how such a simple change could have such a big impact.
At the end of the first month, I had lost 3 lbs and felt ready to take the next small steps. I no longer feel overwhelmed or depressed, and I love working out both on my own and in classes.

After seeing myself bent over at the finish of the NYC Marathon in 2018, I sought out a personal trainer. During my seven years with Clara, my training goal has been to build and retain core strength and balance. Since working with Clara, I have experienced fewer aches and pains during running season and have finished races feeling strong and confident.
Over the years, Clara has rotated through many new programs, always seeking out new exercises that address my weaknesses. Clara learns how her clients’ bodies bend and adjusts the training regimen accordingly, minimizing the chances of strain or injury. When questions arise during a session, she will follow up and text me pertinent information.
I highly recommend Clara to women of all ages, but especially to older women seeking full-body training — either as an end in itself or as a sports fitness base.

I was really wanting help with building consistency with workouts, and I wanted the support of a trainer to basically just tell me what to do. I know exercises, I have apps, I could go to classes or watch YouTube – but I wanted the support of someone to tell me what I needed to do to reach the goals I wanted to reach, in the time I wanted to spend.
Consistency, to me, looked like workouts four days a week, plus two hours of walking, throughout the week. I knew what to do; I just needed some support and accountability to help me do it.
After getting the workouts from Clara, I also decided to experiment with morning workouts. That meant doing some reorganization of my mornings, and I wouldn't say I love morning workouts, but I found out that I do LOVE having them done before work. I never would have started that before working with Clara.
I was also reminded – it's not all or nothing. If I didn't do a morning workout, I could still do one in the evening – no big deal. The power was in the planning. Writing workouts on a paper calendar and putting it into my phone – turns out visual reminders are very helpful for me. Also, knowing I would be checking in with her in our weekly accountability forms was helpful with following through.
I'm proud to say that I was able to maintain my workout plan, reaching my goal of building consistency – and in the month of December no less. I'm so happy that I found Clara's program when I did, because now I'm going into the holiday season and new year, stronger and with a plan that I didn't have before, knowing what works best, and having backup plans for when Plan A doesn't happen.
Clara was very approachable and easy to talk to, and she was helpful in coming up with modifications to exercises that weren't working for me for whatever reason. Form and safety are also priorities for her.
She was a great support, and it was so nice to know I was meeting with her for accountability. The workouts she designed were enjoyable (except maybe for the bear crawls, lol), but I was able to see and feel my progress in just a few weeks, doing the exercises more easily and naturally increasing the weights I was using.
At the end of the first month I've already lost 2.5 lbs. I feel stronger, more confident, and my clothes are fitting better, too.
If you're looking for a personal trainer, with a kind and helpful demeanor, to design a program that's doable, both timewise and with exercises you'll actually do and enjoy, definitely reach out to Clara. She's super knowledgeable and is dedicated to helping her clients be successful with their goals.

I'd been very, very fit for most of my adult life. But before working with Clara, I had struggled to get back to regular workouts since going through a severe bout of depression several years ago. I was also thinking about the importance of aging well, staying strong, and not piling on the pounds post-menopause (I'm in my late 50s). Having external accountability (knowing that Clara would see whether or not I had checked off my scheduled workouts) was a real motivator for me, as were her reminders to remember *why* I wanted to start exercising regularly again. By working with Clara for just a month I was able to develop a regular exercise habit again, notice some strength gains, and drop a few pounds, enough to make me feel fit enough to return to yoga, which had been such an important part of my life pre-depression. If exercise has somehow fallen by the wayside for you, I highly recommend working with Clara to get yourself back on track!

Before working with Clara, I was inconsistent with my workouts and nutrition. I was winging it - picking random workouts without a clear plan and struggling to get enough protein as a vegetarian who isn’t a fan of eggs or cottage cheese. It felt overwhelming and frustrating.
After working with Clara, I finally have clarity and structure. I started paying attention to the amount of protein I was getting at each meal and realized it wasn’t as hard as I thought - it just required a few simple tweaks. Having a clear workout plan made a huge difference too. When I was young I was always athletic but as an adult I gradually let work take priority over my wellbeing. I tried gyms, but I hate them. I’d join, go once or twice, and then never go back. And I thought personal trainers were just for celebrities.
When menopause started looming, I knew I had to do something. Sitting at my desk all day was catching up with me - bad posture, headaches, weight gain, and huffing and puffing just walking up the stairs.
Then I found Clara. Her bubbly but calm personality, super positive support, and totally personalized program made all the difference. Now I feel strong, my “menopause middle” is gone, my headaches are way less frequent, and I actually look forward to our twice-weekly workouts.
