The heaviest weight in the facility where MiLEO Fitness operates is the front door the first time you go to open it. But once you do, a new life becomes possible.
That door was heavy for me. At age 59, I was overweight, uncoordinated, had no balance or stability, no stamina or energy, and my knees hurt when I knelt down. I ate badly: I used to think it was great that stores stocked Pop-Tarts, chips, and soda in adjoining aisles because that made my weekly grocery shopping very convenient.
Luckily, I heard Coach Flip give a talk once about his own health and fitness journey. His story motivated me. So I opened that front door and started working with him on nutrition counseling and fitness training. That was a year ago. Over that time, with his nutrition plan and regular strength and conditioning classes, life has become exciting and new for me. I've right-sized my body, losing weight and gaining muscle. I now eat nutritious food, sleep better, and move like I mean it--I can bend, stretch, reach, pull, run a mile, do sit-ups and bench dips and lunges and a whole bunch of other movements I can't ever remember the names of. I am my healthiest and most confident self ever. It feels great.
There's some sweat required in the classes, of course, and restraint in the nutrition plan, but I've never in my life gotten a greater return on an investment. And Flip is a constant presence, always encouraging, helping me understand, reminding me how far I've come, showing me what else is possible. He's friendly, funny, knowledgeable, strict when necessary, and your absolute best advocate. He'll be way more excited about your success than you could ever hope to be.
Because of Flip, I've come to think of my body as a partner, always there to help and support me.

Flip is an awesome trainer! I had a major motorcycle accident a few years back and my shoulders hurt all the time. But, after my first session with Flip, my pain was noticeably reduced. I started working with Flip to help me with strengthening exercises that could counter knee damage from roller derby that began to negatively impact my hips and lower back. The goal was - IS - to continue skating and to be able to have an active life as I look towards the second half of my life. By my 3rd session with Flip, I was able to complete front bar FULL squats in crossfit without wearing a knee brace or feeling like my knee was going to explode. I still had 5 sessions left with him! My current cycle of training is done with Flip; however, I will continue putting in the work so that I can work with him in a few months to prep me for the next derby season.
