I have been stopping by this gym a couple times a year in my travels since it opened. It is in one of those really nice purpose-built buildings, but beyond that there seems to be little attention to detail. Was hoping for at least a tepidly warm shower after my workout, but even running it 20 minutes, the water was stone cold. Too cheap to put in a bottle filler, so you get to try and use the trickle from the fountain. Not so clean- I'm still trying to wash off some sticky substance I picked up on one of the stairmasters (hot water might have helped). And believe me, I am not trying to live back in the pandemic, but even I like to mop up standing water on the machines, whether left there by me or the person before me. Tried three different paper towel dispensers, but they were all empty. Maybe it is time to do a little less leaning and chatting behind the front counter? Normally a huge Planet Fitness fan, and have been a member for years, but obviously pretty disappointed in the maintenance of this particular club.

Don’t sign up with your insurance, you will be paying your insurance and planet fitness twice. They refuse to cancel my membership. You will be charged an annual fee regardless if you signed up with your insurance. Higher end gyms will not charge you for any of these fees. I do not recommend this facility or any other planet fitness. Watch your hidden fees.

Answered a survey they sent 7/10 because they were out of paper towels in multiple sections and when told said they were getting to it, when in all honesty it was right before closing and they had most likely given up. Then they call to ask why they got a 7/10 and processed to be manipulative. That 7/10 should have been a 1/10. Horrible place.

Overall this gym is great. Love the machines, free weights, layout of facility, massage beds are good when they work, and facility is clean. Staff is friendly and do the best they can when only one working. Only issue I have are the people that sit on machines checking their phones for emails, texts, answering calls or responding to them. I go to the gym to workout and focus on that. If you have to use your phone get off the machine so someone can use it. It's just common courtesy.

I would like to say, i enjoy this gym. However, the last few times I have gone the women's bathroom has stunk so badly. I am not sure if it is plumbing issues or lack or cleaning. Maybe lack of trash dumping. I just know it has not been a pleasant smell. I go to the gym almost daily and I have for almost a year now. I find it very hard to get changed for my work out with the smell. It is so bad I feel like I may vomit. Please address this.

NO HOT WATER. There are signs acknowledging that they know it doesn't work and have 'helpful tips' on how to turn a knob and wait for hot water for five whole minutes and then it gets barely lukewarm and then turns back to ice. If I wanted a cold shower I could have hosed myself off in the parking lot. Fail. And it's even More disappointing to know that management of this location has been aware for many months that there is no hot water here and instead of fixing it, they put up signs trying to gaslight customers into thinking they just didn't waste enough cold water in this desert environment waiting for hot water to arrive. You should really be ashamed.

I've been coming to this gym for the last 4 years. The management here is good. They've done a recent renovation of the interior and exterior, cleaned up the place really well and put in a whole bunch of new machines. The only thing is this place can get crowded during high traffic hours, but what can you do. Great bang for your buck regardless ! The hydro massage beds are a must after every workout. Glad they allow you to use the massage beds for 10 min at a time. In Southern Cali they only allow you to use the hydro massage beds for 5 min lol. Def recommend this place !

There are always numerous machines broken.
Parking can get a little crowded, but you can find a spot.

Have had the black card and the basic membership. Personally, a black card wasn't worth it for me. Moved down to a basic membership after a year. Recently tried to move gyms and was told my account is now locked due to my black card 2 year account owing money. It wasn't locked before because "they didn't know about it," according to the phone call i had today. It's absolutely ridiculous that I've been going to that gym for 2 years, with the same phone number, and now suddenly I owe almost $100. It's crazy to me that a company can keep a delinquent tab without trying to reach out while it racks up charges.

This has been the last strike for this business. I can no longer in good faith recommend this establishment to anyone.

Edit: After about 2 weeks, had a manager reach out and work with me on the issue with my account. Changing my rating up.

Plenty of new cardio equipment in terms of both variety and quantity, with no waiting. At some times weight lifting options are fully occupied. I don't like electric hand dryers in locker rooms. Plenty of paper towels in exercise zones, however, along with sanitizer spray bottles. Staff is friendly without being overbearing. Wifi problems have been solved. I don't see the Black Club spa rooms being used except once in a great while, at least at the time I usually work out. Would be great if instead those were private showers and changing rooms. The womens locker for regular members has only one changing room, which seems like way too few, given how many patrons use the facility at busy times.

Dirty gym from bathrooms to months worth of dust and grime at some racks or machines. Fans covered in dust and vents, it seems like they NEVER deep clean. Not to mention all the out of use things ranging from gym equipment to bathroom utilities. It's clear that the high ups don't care about this location therefore it suffered amd the clientele with it. The guys who work there are lazy and don't even care to lift their head from their phone..sorry for being a paying member didn't mean to bother you..there's only about 1 or 2 good employees there. This is a dirty gym. See my photo of dust bunnies under the benches. One time I spilled water and wiped it up in an area with low traffic (between the exercise mats and the wall, where people don't walk) and the paper towel was pure black. I don't feel comfortable showering here with the lack of cleanliness. I go in the mornings and there's a girl with black hair who just stands there and doesn't do anything while the paper towel dispensers and disinfectant bottles are empty. A lot of the machines I need are lacking or down for maintenance or reupholstering. For these reasons, I am going to Crunch which is cleaner with a wider variety of machines.

I was visiting from out of town and stopped by to get into work out all in all it's a typical planet fitness a lot of stuff is broken there's a lot of people sitting on machines playing on their phones this location is way busier than any I've been to in the past so I can't complain too much it's good to see so many people doing their thing in the gym the reason for the three stars is I know for a fact that gym is making a phenomenal amount of money and still hasn't put any money into the actual gym itself equipment was broken water fountain was trash the toilets were old and dirty I know how planet fitness works 80% of the memberships that people purchase aren't even used let's put a little bit of money back into the gym

Been working out here for almost 6 months, everyday checking in with the membership. Apparently my home gym is the El paseo and I can only workout at that one, even though when I signed up I was told ai could use both. Just got kicked out during the beginning of my workout because the front desk guy “just caught it.”

It’s funny, my membership was fine here until I complained about a worker who had been harassing me and looking up personal information such as birthdates and whatnot. Now I’m being ejected for the gym at 5:30am.

Definitely will be going to a better gym that doesn’t allow employees to stalk customers and doesn’t make spiteful changes to memberships. Completely unprofessional.

You get what you pay for. Poorly maintained, something is always out of order and takes forever to get fixed. Today the entire men’s room was out of order- urinals, toilets and sinks- I wonder how the employees wash their hands. Couldn’t even buy drinks because of course their system was down with no workaround as they wouldn’t even take cash. Lots of equipment broken and out of order. And before you put your “did you tell our staff” comment you always reply with, they have signs everywhere telling you what’s broken. Maybe Management needs to actually visit this place- I’m sure they don’t care as nothing seems to change. To top it off you can’t have a backpack inside. I wonder how clean the place would be if they spent the time cleaning as much as they do playing backpack police. Don’t worry too much about it though, you can take a gamble as the rules (or policies as they claim) only pertain to some people and not everyone.

Original: I leave a lot of reviews but almost never negative ones as I use this platform to lift businesses up. However this warranted one. I travel the country full time in an RV so I’ve seen dozens in dozens on dozens of planet fitness locations across many states. This is hands down the most atrocious locker room I have ever seen. And checking recent reviews its pages of 1 star this place is unsanitary reviews with PF generic responses and yet it hasn’t changed. I’m floored at how nasty the locker room, gym floors, and machines are. Please don’t give a political response, this place needs a crew to come in and deeply clean it, this can’t be cleaned by regular staff it’s too far gone.

The bathrooms and showers at this planet fitness were super gross, there was hot water for about 10 seconds and then it was ice cold for the rest of my shower. they have the clear glass for the shower and changing room doors so everyone can see you showering/changing. Arrive around 8p (December 16, 2023) after 650 plus miles driving. The gal (long black hair and the guy) were friendly and indicated I could sleep in my vehicle (was going to a Cracker Barrel nearby). The facility was clean. Being open 24/7 is cool. Workout was good, equipment is average. But like most planet fitnesses the bathrooms are disgusting. The Employees are fine to sit in front and text but not to clean the bathroom that needs attention.  There's dirt and rust stains in the showers, used soap, toe nails, and trash on the ground. One of them says closed for cleaning, they are definitely not cleaning it anytime soon.
One of the soap dispensers is out of soap. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in a long time. Sucks when you count on a shower after your workout but it's just too gross.

App kept giving me error messages when I tried signing up to this club. So I gave up signed up for the nearest club that wouldn't give me an error message. Now they're saying I can use this club because the club I signed up for won't let me use clubs worldwide. I can't transfer my club because my membership isn't 3 months old. My only option is to cancel my subscription and reapply to this one (losing way more money in the process) and I can only do that using certified mail or by going to the other club in person (which is all the way in Albuquerque) or just not go the the gym for another 2 months and try again (wasting money in the process). I am PISSED to say the least because I chose pf because I'm broke and now you have me jumping through hoops wasting precious money all because YOUR app is broken.

Good place to work out, friendly staff and super fun machines to work out on. Only thing that sucks is that there is no free bar weights to dead lift and clean and press. Other than that great!

Was double charged for the annual membership fee and they refused to refund me. Brought in bank statements, etc, and was ran through the mill for weeks. Had to cut the loss because it was taking to much of my time. Always overcrowded as hell unless you go at 2 a.m.

Recently just signed up staff is rude pay you’re staff they didn’t even bother to give me keychain to sign in I don’t want to ! Bring my phone to the gym every time I just want to run and work out

This was my first time visiting it but I signed up for it and loved everything about it. All of its equipment was perfectly organized and very well kept and clean. As well, it had free weights and machines which gives you multiple options. I appreciate everything about it as I brought my 14 yr old and he was crazy about the place, too! Thx!

Mostly great except for the temperature. Will randomly lower the temperature SO MUCH you leave with your chest and nose BURNING and an awful headache. Some of us have poor immune systems, working out in a place this cold gets you in bed for DAYS. This isn't usually an issue, and it's mostly clean. But seriously need to keep the temperature at a point where it's not freezing, so it's not such a shock when your body warms up from working out

The staff is so unbelievably rude.. They don’t do anything. The place is always filthy, the cleaning supplies is almost never stocked. It seems them resorted to leaving nasty washclothes out to be used and reused all day so that they didn’t have to bother restocking the paper towels. They often put equipment to appear out of order because they’re “cleaning” or rather “waiting for cleaning” but that cleaning never happens. The music is god awful. Staff is severely dismissive of any concerns or complaints (god forbid we make them look up from their phones). And one guy is a real jackass. When a complaint was made, and he disregarded it. I made mention of taking the complaint to higher management, to which he responded by threatening to get my membership revoked. All because I made a complaint about cleanliness?
This club is the worst out of the many I’ve been to across many states and it purely stems from the staff. Hire people that actually care about people and want to do their job. Chad needs to seriously start over from scratch with this one.

Got rid of disposable towels to wipe the equipment down, replaced them with wash cloths that are being reused through out the day by the several hundred people that come in... nasty as all heck

Used to be great. I go in the am around 630. Staff just sits behind the desk on their phone. By the time I leave there is usually 2 or 3 all just sitting there. I don’t even think they make sure everyone coming in is a member. Meanwhile the gym is dirty with trash on the floor, cleaning stations out of supplies and bathrooms dirty. No one cares to make their place of work look better, just sit behind the desk to cater their own needs and collect a paycheck. I’m going to start looking for a new gym that cares about their facility.

UPDATE. After response from PF…. I am not sure how much more clearer I can be with what’s wrong with this place. This am, at least 3 paper towel machines were out and didn’t even have a roll sitting out. Talking to a manager is is going to help, they are part of the problem. There has been trash that is blatantly obvious sitting on the floor that has remained for several days. Meaning whoever the manager was on there days either failed to walk the floor or didn’t have the intestinal fortitude to ensure an employee cleaned it up. I have seen people cleaning more often. But I still see people come in and never scan in or show their membership. Maybe I can cancel and still show up

So I’ve been going to this gym for a year. I have to scan in as a BC member as I come in-no problem. You have a team member Joshua- he sees me scan in because I wave and he looks at the screen. So HE knows I’m a BCmember. Before I didn’t have to scan in to use the spa. Now he tells me I have to- ever since I brought up the poor customer service he gave me the other night -he asks me to scan in. I don’t think this is right and down right retaliation.

Hire people who want to be here. I get the grind and everyday life.If you don’t want to deal with customers/members look for other work. This goes to the other team members and their unprofessional attitudes as well. The team members get annoyed because we interrupt their phone time while asking for chairs or coins while on the clock, what they get paid to do. Fix this management.

I absolutely love this place! I start by warming up on a stationary bike and then use two machines for lower back; Next, I use 3lb. dumbbells to do all my upper body (*forearms, triceps, biceps and shoulders)...Two more machines for inner thighs and hip abductors before I finish up my workout on the treadmill! Facility is clean, staff is helpful and friendly and it's never too crowded.

I love this gym. No hassles, just walk in, check in and go workout. Friendly staff, clean facility and clean equipment, just recently I've noticed new equipment on the floor as well. Great facility for a healthy experience!

I entered this morning around 7:30 a.m. and I forgot my scanning card in my other vehicle. I do not have the app on my phone due to the fact that I do not want alerts or notes or messages and my phone is for business and it doesn't have room to store any more apps that take up storage. In saying that I tried checking in with the option that everyone else has if they don't have their phone or their card which is with my number and they supervisor Xavier here in Las Cruces said I cannot do that basically telling me I can't work out unless I have a card or I download the app to my business phone I responded with. I do not want the app on my phone because it takes up storage and it gives me alerts which I don't have storage to spare at this point. He asked me why I answered him again about my phone and he answered again like a child. Why? I felt like I was talking to my 2-year-old grandson of when you Get asked the question and you answer their answer back is always why I told him. Are you a child and can I speak to management? That's when he told me he was the only manager and I said who's above you and he said nobody is above him and I cannot work out and I must download it to my phone. No other option. I told him he's rude. He told me I cannot work out. I went past him and I am a pain customer regard. If he's the manager there they need to find new replacements because his customer service and trying to help customers that pay is terrible. I've been going there for 3 and 1/2 plus years and have never encountered such ignorance for customer service and such rudeness. I employ myself over 100 employees and was going to give him a suggestion of how customer service works especially when they offer the option of giving my phone number to check me in. I told him my phone number and I walked away from him. Whether he checked me in or not and did not want to do, his job is not my problem. I hope planet fitness looks deeply into this. I would hate for other customers aka paying customers to have the same experience with this so-called manager aka owner

This is for the staff who is working on 12/30/2022 night. He is so unprofessional (aka. work like a robot). I had my membership via Active & Fitness program(or Silver & fitness, which equivalent as Blackcard membership). The staff still declined my entry to use the facility by saying, I quote "I just follow what the computer telling me, I can't let you in". Even thought I have spent at least 10 minutes explaining to him what is my membership and shown him my contract file under my PF app. He still declined my request.
