I am an adult beginner and I've been dancing at Sparrow since Oct 2024 and both my kids have started dancing since the summer of 2025.
The owner, Christina, has done such a phenomenal job fostering an amazing adult ballet community. I have learned so much from Jessica, Natalie, Amanda and Christina and I have made amazing friendships with my fellow dancers. If you're an adult whose been considering trying ballet, Sparrow is absolutely the place to trust your training to.
Both my boys are also in dance and their teachers Natalie and Marissa are awesome with them and the other kids.

As a first-time adult dancer, and mom, I can't say enough good things about Sparrow Dance Productions! From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt completely at home. I wanted to publicly honor James and Christina, the owners of Sparrow Dance Productions. Our daughter auditioned and made it into the nutcracker and unfortunately we were not able to pay for it because we were notified of a possible government shut down coming this month. My husband works for the government. James contacted us and they sponsored our family. We had just told our daughter this morning that we had to back out due to finances. She was very sad. Now we just gave her the news that she was sponsored! How generous and kind that was! So THANK YOU from our family to yours James and Christina. We are so grateful!

We LOVE Sparrow! Our daughter has been there for a year or so now. She enjoys her classes and is growing and developing. Communication is always clear and concise, the scheduling is flexible with good options, and it's so great that for beginners you can choose to do one class a week, or more if you want to. Rates are super reasonable. The administration and instruction is superb, the productions that the academy puts on are very professional and a joy for our daughter to participate in and for us to be able to see the big day when they perform in a theater. They are demanding and care about having disciplined dancers, but not to a degree that discourages participants--they have that balance figured out quite well and it is appreciated.

I’m extremely disappointed with the way I was treated by the owner, James, of Sparrow Dance Productions on recital day Sunday May 26th. The owner continues to disrespect, as evident from his response to a Google review from a grandmother who also gave a review. He proceeded to make an accusation about her when she was not the grandparent who dropped off the child—it was me. In his response he states I was 48 minutes late. I was not 48 minutes late. Due to unforeseen difficulties, I was unable to make it on time. With the child’s parents out of town and out of service, I could not find a way to reach the dance studio to let them know she would be late as the number on the flyer given to me was incorrect.
The child and her parents have been with this dance studio for over a year now with no problems at any other recitals in the past.

It was an unforeseen difficulty, and to make it seem like this was a habitual problem and to ban her from the recital the way you did was highly unprofessional. His lack of empathy is quite bewildering considering he is in charge of so many youth at that facility. In his response to the incorrect grandmother, he should be ashamed of his very rude comments about making this a lesson about responsibility and punctuality without knowing what may have caused the late arrival. What he showed her today was not that. Today he showed her a person who was rude and lacked human kindness at a time when you could have shown concern. As my granddaughter and her parents have never been late to a recital in the past.

I was nineteen when I started going to Sparrow- I was thoroughly convinced that I was way too old to take dance classes. I went only as a favor to my sister, who didn’t want to try modern dance lessons by herself. I promised her that I would go for a month, just to get her used to it, and then I would stop.

It’s been two and a half years since then, and I’m now at Sparrow six days a week. Every day I’m counting down the hours until I finally get to walk in the door. I’ve taken modern, lyrical, and ballet classes here, and now I even help teach. I went from believing that I was too old to ever dance to performing in three full ballets and countless recitals, and it was this studio that made it happen. I’ve been physically, emotionally, and mentally healed just by dancing here with these beautiful, wonderful people. I don’t regret a second of time I’ve spent here.

Sparrow has become my dance home, and I wouldn’t choose any other studio over it. This place is amazing. The owners Mrs. Christina and Mr. James are the most incredible people you’ll ever meet, and the dance family they’ve created here is absolutely beyond comparison. Their policy is “anyone can dance,” and that’s certainly been proven true with me. This is the most wonderful, welcoming place you’ll ever set foot into. Sparrow Dance is a magical studio for dancers of all ages and skill levels. James and Christina, along with their talented instructors, bring a force of love and an environment of emotional safety to their art, and it shows. From the moment you walk in, you can tell that dancers and their families are supported and cared for. My daughter struggles with anxiety and sometimes has to step out of class or miss certain nights, and there has always been so much care and concern for her despite the inconvenience I'm sure it causes when she has to miss class. Rather than the usual atmosphere of competition and stress, Sparrow encourages real self expression through movement and dance: dancers are encouraged to be inclusive and compassionate to one another, and while the technical skills of the instructors are amazing, the focus is on a full appreciation of all that dance can be, not on making things simply look perfect. We love Sparrow Dance! Both my girls have been a part of the Sparrow family for 5 years now and they can never get enough! I don’t do reviews and when I do it’s usually positive Ones. I felt the need to leave this one because it involved my child and the way she was handled at Sparrow was mind boggling to my wife and I. How do you disenroll a 7 year old child with ADHD for disruptive behavior without ever communicating with the parents directly? I went to every practice, sat in the waiting room watching the monitors every week, not once did you talk to me about her “disrespectful and disruptive behavior”
I went inside her classroom only one time because I noticed that she was just sitting there and not participating. Who’s job is it to keep the kids engaged? As a coach myself I can answer that one, the coach! As for your coach saying I was aggressive with the way I asked a simple question? I was only trying to offer her some techniques going forward that would help coach my child. I felt no I’ll will forward her at all! I am by no means an aggressive man, I am actually quite shy and let other people do their job. Which you all failed at. Completely shocked with how you as a company handled this. I have recommended several people to check out Sparrow in the past because my daughter absolutely loved going to tap dance. Well that no longer will be happening. Word spreads quick and I hope you take this a learning experience.

I started my granddaughter at Sparrow Dance about six months ago. She was only three years old. Having six sons myself— I didn’t know what to expect. What I found is everyone is friendly. We have been greeted by name every visit. The teachers and teaching assistants are amazing! They aren’t just present, they are participative! They know my girl well and keep her engaged!
