Had an excellent time at this golf course, on a cold and rainy day. The staff was great. Helped us all throughout anything we needed. But they especially helped because we were making tee times way in advance of our arrival because we were from out of town. Staff gets a five-star rating.

Really fun course. Challenging, but fair. Greens are large with slopes and undulations that make you really think about speed and break; plus they are relatively fast. The course is also pretty open.

This course is excellent! One of the funnest I’ve played in this area. I went a week after getting LASIK and had no idea I wouldn’t be able to see the ball once it was 80 yards away. The rough is so thick and deep, which I love, that in the first 5 holes I lost 3 balls because I was playing alone lol. But then I caught up to a group of 3 who invited me to play with them. Turns out that Todd, Paul and Adam worked at the golf course. I can’t thank them enough for the experience. Suffice it to say, no more lost balls. And they have an open invite to join me at my club for a round. Definitely recommend this course. It’s long, hard and bushy. Can’t wait to go back.

4.4??? Really??? It’s a 1 all day long! There is NO way in hell its worth $100.

Pace of play was abysmal!!! Why? Maybe because the rough is so damn thick, you can’t even find your golf ball, therefore, causing delays.

I have an idea-Cut the rough down to a manageable distance, people find their ball sooner and just like that, quicker rounds.

My son and I had a great experience playing the Championship Course last week. The course was in very good shape and the staff was exceptional. Adam Roybal, the GM, was very helpful in locating the rangefinder I left in one of the carts. We'll be back, for sure!

UNM(South) Championship Golf Course is a very nice course and always very well kept. It appears as though they got new carts recently that have GPS, so you have your distances to the pin right there in the cart, which is very convenient! The guys/gals in the Pro Shop are always professional and friendly & the same goes for the Starters! The driving range is also nice, and there's a cool little 3 hole practice course that has 2 par 4's and a part 3.

Just a heads up here, it's a pretty long course from any of the Tee-boxes, but a lot of the fairways are pretty wide. Also, a lot of shots will run toward the river, and that would be on the fairways and putting on the greens.

Enjoyed my first visit to this course, overall! Easy-going staff and easy to book. Range was set back to low quality mats which was too bad, and the practice greens didn’t have pins while I was up there. The course was seemingly overbooked as there were three playing groups waiting on each hole most the time: tee box, fairway, green. Made for a slow round but would play here again.

Either be open or closed we booked one of the last tee times of the day on nye and the guy working the front desk was very rude about pace of play
even though no one was behind us all day. Basically made it feel like he didn’t want us there at all and complained when I asked to use the restroom on the way out. If I pay almost $200 for 2 people to play you would think the staff would act like they want you there. Not sure why every golf course has to come with a grumpy old man working the front desk but the last thing I want is someone being rude to me when I am trying to focus on golf. How about some customer service at the front desk if you claim to be a nice course. The cart guys were great even going as far as refusing my $20 tip when I thanked them for their work.

Welcome to the no-friend zone. Just because the course is professional-grade doesn't mean the golfers are. We've been here a few times and always encounter pretentious golfers and staff. I wouldn't recommend this course for anyone who's looking to relax and actually enjoy the game.

Course is in good shape. Course only takes cards, no cash. Gentleman in the pro shop was nice, however the restaurant was a different story. He wasn’t at the count so rang the bell as instructed but still no one. They a nice cleaning lady knocked in the door and the guy came up from and was rude and disrespectful. Was upset she knocked in the door and had to come to the front to provide customer service.

UNM Championship Golf Course is one of the toughest courses in Albuquerque New Mexico. The key to this course in my opinion is keeping the ball on The Fairway to give yourself an opportunity on your approach shot.

South doesn’t give rain checks. Radar said we wouldn’t have rain and it would go around us. Instead We ran into Lightening, rain and thunder, so they sounded the horn and everyone came in. Then when we asked for a rain check they said no. When we went back out to finish playing in the rain some employees grumbled about it. Make a choice, decide if you want to give us a refund/raincheck or be liable when we go back out play like we paid to do. It’s not like they’d lose money, long rain delays aren’t exactly everyday occurrences in the desert.

I would give this course a zero if I could. I have never encountered such pretentious snobs in my life before. My partner and I are fairly new to golfing and the workers here made sure to make us feel like we are not welcome here. We ended up not playing and getting a refund because they made this experience so awful. Do not come here if you just want to relax and play a casual game of golf.

The golf course itself is great, fairways and greens are well maintained. The worker there are very rude especially the marshals. we teed off 10 minutes after group in front of us and about 4 holes in we are getting harassed By marshal that we’re playing too slow. I’m a beginner and an employee had the nerve to come scold me and ruined my whole experience. I wasn’t playing slow or holding people up and was going at pace. He had the nerve to tell me I should play the 3 hole. I paid my $50 just like everything else. He brought me to tears and I will never come here again.

I really like the course and was looking forward to playing it again. But the pace of play was awful and not a single Marshall to be found on the course. Front 9 not bad but on back 9 had to wait at least 5 minutes for every shot. Signs in the carts saying pace of play with a 5 minute stop at the turn should take 4.5 hours. We have 3 holes to go and we are already at over 4 hours. I don’t understand courses that set a standard and then don’t enforce it.

This is a true classic golf course. Friendly and down-to-earth staff, Nice practice facility with a large practice and chipping green. The course has more than enough to keep your attention with challenging doglegs and large elevated greens. Only 5 minutes from the airport making it a great place to get a last minute round in before taking off. The only downside is the course is hard to find since there''s really no clear sign posting.

Played April 2016. Course was in good shape. Greens were firm, but not rock hard, and very fast. Some greens are so hard you have to land it short, others are nice and soft so you go right at the pin. These you want to just land the green and have it roll out. Front nine is nice and wide, very forgiving. Back nine plays more narrow. Course seems long. (or I wasn't hitting them long that day!) Almost all my approach shots on par 4's seemed to be 160+ yds, even after a bomb drive. Walkable course, with some elevation changes, but tee-to-green is short. Would play again for sure.
