My name is Donna and I’m 63 years old. I started AB Fitness because I wanna be around to see my kids become adults and hopefully see some grandkids. My health is good but I wanted to better myself. Well , since I joined AB Fitness I couldn’t be more proud of myself. I have more energy, strength, stamina and a better outlook on life. I have lost body fat, I sleep better and my clothes look so amazing on me. Preston who is my main trainer is awesome!
He has shown me proper technique in using the weights and is my own personal cheerleader! The 1st week I started I dreaded going back. Now I’m excited to go and upset if I miss a session.

My Journey with AB Fitness

Late April 2024, after experiencing several family losses over the past five years, I found myself turning to food and wine to cope. When I went to my doctor, I weighed 255 lbs, wore size 20 pants and XXL tops, and was put on medication for high blood pressure and cholesterol. I wanted to try weight loss medication, but at that time, it wasn’t easy to get. I knew I needed to make a real change.

Then in May 2024, I found AB Fitness, and it completely changed my life. They started by helping me with nutrition, and when I began my workouts, everyone was so supportive. The trainers took things slow at first, understood my needs, and helped me progress at my own pace.

The AB Fitness team truly feels like family — they care about your goals, hold you accountable, and genuinely want to see you succeed. Their motivation and encouragement pushed me to become stronger and healthier every day.

Wonderful no-frills local gym! The coaches are great—Alex, Robert and Umberto—they listen, guide and encourage! The 30-minute sessions are perfect too. This is not a place for hard core meatheads, but rather a great option for people of all ages.

I am not a person who likes to workout, but had knee surgery two years ago and needed to find a gym to strengthen my knees and body. It’s been a year since I joined AB fitness and only have positive things to say. Mike is super as a trainer. I started AB Fitness 9 months ago at the Massapequa location, and it’s been the best decision I’ve made. I originally started because I had not ever gone to a gym before and honestly didn’t know how to workout/what to do at the gym. AB Fitness is great, because you get a personalized experience with their amazing trainers (shout out to Preston, Umberto, and Greg!) They really make sure to push you, while also considering any health issues that may need to have modifications to the workouts (for instance, I have an autoimmune disease, and all the trainers are really great at modifying workouts whenever my body is having a flare up).

AB Fitness is much cheaper for personal training than other gyms, so it’s definitely a great option for people looking into personal training. The class sizes only allow up to 6 people per session, so it has a very personal feel to it. Everyone that goes to the gym too is so nice and welcoming.

I can say in only 8 months I’m already much stronger, healthier, and overall just feel better. I’ve lost weight, learned healthy habits, and now know how to exercise. From living a pretty much sedentary life to now going to the gym and weight training three times a week, the change has incredible. Thank you AB Fitness (and especially Preston, Umberto, and Greg) for everything!

I’ve been training at AB Fitness since August 2023, after I started experiencing a lot of body aches and pains. While working with my trainer, I uncovered that I had a torn rotator cuff. I started 2/23 just prior to my 65th birthday. I was nervous because I had never been in a gym before and had no idea what to do or how to do it. I didn’t need to worry. The trainers are all amazing, hard working friendly and professional. They helped me get started and were understanding that I was clueless. AB Fitness has changed my life. I am more toned then I have ever been, I lift weights I never imagined I could and they keep me accountable. I also took advantage of the nutrition program they offer. They make it so easy and you constantly get feed back and suggestions to help you hit your macros. Questions are always welcomed and you can count on a quick, helpful response.
For me, another huge advantage to this gym is the clients. You never workout with more than 5 other people and I have found that everyone there makes an effort to support each other. Also the trainers are always right there to offer support, encouragement and if necessary corrections on form so I know I am doing the exercise right, working the muscles I should be and am not going to injure myself. I am coming up on my 150th workout and I have benefited from and enjoyed them all. I highly recommend Anthony and his team!

This place has been life changing. Just shy of a week ago I was completely inactive, and by that I mean a flight of stairs was a challenge and could leave me winded. My eating habits were awful. I inquired about AB and Brianna and Laura were there to answer any question I could possibly have and guide me through the seamless sign up process. I signed up on a Tuesday and was in the gym on Wednesday. I walked in to the gym and was nervous, I questioned whether I could keep up, or if I would end up quitting, like I had other programs before. I was greeted by the trainer for the day and the workout began. It took just under 30 minutes! Yes, 30 minutes!! Who doesn’t have 30 minutes to work out. I was in and out in the early AM and home before needing to get my son to school. The week continues and the workouts were challenging but made you want to come back. Even when it was tough, they were encouraging and never made you feel bad about being a beginner. So much so for me that I increased my membership plan so I can do more days during the week. I also signed up to have their help with nutrition. And they make that seamless and are always available to help with any questions. This is not something you get at any big box gym. And the nutrition plan does not leave you feeling restricted. The first few days, I never felt hungry.
I have truly been amazed that getting into the gym and planning my meals is something I look forward to! If you know me, you would understand . I am a busy mom who shows up for everyone else all the time. When I finally decided to show up for myself I am so glad it was with AB Fitness. Their team along with the effective, quick, workout and personal nutrition help, leaves no excuses to not succeed. Initially I joined because my wife signed me up without asking lol however it turned out to be an awesome experience. The trainers at AB asked me what my goal weight was and I said that I just wanted to drive my car without my belt buckle poking me in the gut. The tone at AB is really great. I had forgotten how much I liked working out and learned some new exercises. The trainers are great, they help keep you on track in a nice way with no nagging. AB straightened out my diet and gave me a meal plan that was easy, very filling and effective. I lost 30 lbs (stopped snoring) and have kept it off for well over a year. Who ever heard of a diet that allows you to eat pizza and chicken wings? Oh yeah and my belt buckle no longer sticks me in the gut lol

I’ve had a heck of a hard time keeping a workout routine the last few months and tried a number of different programs (gyms, PT, exercise classes) but always fell off after a few sessions. Admittedly it took me a bit to get into the groove of going to AB Fitness as well too (mostly due to being sick a few times), but I’ve already noticed huge progress with my lifts and strength progression. This gym has a team of people who constantly check in and genuinely care about your success. They answer all your questions and guide you throughout your workouts. They’re all certified and went through a 90-day internship with Anthony. They will challenge and equip you with confidence. I never knew what my body was capable of after having multiple sessions with them.
In less than 4 months, I’ve seen my body change. I got toner and stronger. I feel more energetic and I feel less body aches and pains (from my scoliosis). My quality of life has improved and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. For over the past year since I have been a member at AB fitness I have seen a tremendous positive difference in my health. I have never been into weight training proir but now realize how I have benefitted from AB fitness . Not only does AB fitness concentrate on exercise they consult with you on nutrition and help you make tailored plans for you.
I have learned a great deal regarding nutrition that I wasnt aware of. This knowledge regarding consuming protiens ,carbs and fats has helped me lose weight and keep it off over 1 year. I am also eating properly and feeling full after my meals.
The weekly workouts are in small to sometimes individual settings mostly based on using weights thru out the workouts
The staff is tremendous both in thier knowledge of fitness and explaining proper ways to perform the different exercises, ensure no injuries and making it a totally positive experience. They are there during the 30 minute sessoins observing , advising and encouraging you. Being over 50 years old I was initially concerned that wieght training would hurt me or just be to hard for me. I as pleased to say I have never felt better after a year of training mostly 2 /3 times a week. Every week seems to be a different exercises targeting different areas and muscles. As challenging as it is, it is more rewarding finishing up the 30 minute routine!!
I honestly recommend AB fitness to anyone regardless of your age who would like to improve your heath, become stronger and correct bad eating habits

From day one, I knew that this was going to be my new “fitness family.” I am always pumped up on my way into the gym and especially when my workout is over, knowing that my body is becoming stronger and healthier day by day.

I was ready for both a physical and mental transformation after gaining 30 lbs. during 2020 due to Covid and inactivity and wouldn’t look at myself in the mirror. The personal trainers coach you on proper nutrition, make sure you are lifting using the proper form, and hold you accountable for your attendance and goals each month. If you had a previous injury, they will coach you around that injury. They offer morning and evening sessions, so it allows for flexibility, which is perfect for a mother/career-focused woman like me. Whether during a workout or reaching out to the team via text, you will receive the utmost support, encouragement, and no bs feedback. Anthony and his team whole-heartedly care about their clients (“fitness family”) and treat you like family. Now, who doesn’t want that?

Since I have been working with Anthony from ABFitness I have learned to eat in a more nutritional and balanced way! I started my journey with AB Fitness in May 2020 as both a nutritional client and strength training client, entirely virtual. Prior to signing on, I had used information from some of Anthony's videos online to help me lose 50 lbs in the eight months prior and, in the six months since I've signed on, I have lost a further 30 lbs. More importantly, I've shaved 10% off my body fat percentage since joining. The entire group at AB is outstanding, and I can't speak highly enough of them and how they have changed my life. Anthony has a gift for motivating people to change their lives for the better. Given my lack of success at gyms in the past, I've been trying to figure what it is about AB that makes them so successful. The answer is they genuinely care about educating you and giving you the tools you need to be successful; whether it is losing weight, building muscle, changing your body shape, or some combination of all three. They are truly supportive and genuinely care about being partners on your fitness journey.

Nutrition - Anthony has created a flexible, sustainable nutrition plan focused on balancing your macro intake (protein, fat, carbs) so that you feel fulfilled while keeping your basal metabolic rate working for you. The flexibility allows you to keep some of the things you crave, but they just have to fit into the daily caloric intake within the macro guidelines. It takes work and Anthony will help you get there.

Accountability - There is a weekly accountability assessment that is filled out online. AB will respond with feedback and tailor the plan as appropriate. Its important to note here that Anthony will do everything to provide you with the tools to succeed, and will be extremely supportive in doing so. NO one is perfect, and they understand that. This was an enormous relief to me.

Training - While I'm sure the gym is fantastic, I have done all my classes virtually via zoom using dumbbells at home. In the age of covid, from out of state, I've still been able to see excellent results with AB without leaving my home.

It's been a month of working with Anthony, Pete, and Laura, and I have nothing but amazing things to say about the team, the workouts, and the gym family they've brought together. I came across AB Fitness Center via Facebook. Anthony called me and asked me questions about my past fitness experience and what my goal is. He was very personable and made me feel very comfortable speaking about these things. We set up a meeting at the AB Fitness center and we met face to face. Anthony, Pete and Laura were my trainers and they were awesome. They motivated me when I thought that I couldn’t do it and pushed me to be a better version of myself. The sessions are small so you have a more personalized experience which is amazing. The nutrition plan was easy to follow and helped me to amplify these sessions. After 4 weeks I met with Anthony and Pete again and found out that I lost 6 pounds, 8% body fat and 10 inches in 3 weeks. I couldn’t believe it! I feel so much better, have more energy and look better. This experience was the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time and I plan on continuing this journey because I know that I can be even better. For someone that has absolutely no knowledge of fitness and working out and never thought that she would step foot in a gym after 8 years of dancing... this DRASTICALLY changed my mindset. I've been coming to AB fitness center for about a month and a half now and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

What you get is a straightforward, flexible and most importantly personalized eating plan that based on you current body level and goals. Beyond that, the workouts are extremely effective for just 30 mins per session. In just a month and a half I can see myself getting significantly stronger and cutting body fat. I'm nowhere near my goal, but I know that I'm on track to get there.

What really sets AB fitness apart are the trainers. Anthony and his team are extremely passionate about what the do and fitness in general. It honestly rubs off on you and will help take you to the next level. His "1% better everyday" mantra has become engrained in me. I joined the AB Fitness family towards the end of June of this year. I found them through Yelp. I was looking for a gym that would help make me accountable for my choices. I was not at my best both physically and emotionally. I weighed in at about 210 lbs! I was very nervous about working out and taking control of my life again. I thought it was going to be very difficult to make the necessary changes and stick to it. However, to my surprise, when I went in for a consultation with Anthony, Laura, and Pete I was thoroughly impressed and excited to start this new chapter in my life. They took my body measurements, discussed my diet in full detail and took into account my family's health history as well as my own. From there I signed up for my first 30-minute session and I received my personalized meal plan. The meal plan is simple to understand. It allows you to eat the things you love in moderation. It also helped me develop better eating habits to the point of which I no longer religiously count all my calories. I feel confident when I am out with friends to make healthier choices and be more aware of how much I am consuming. The team is always checking in to see if any revisions need to be made to your diet plan. They also send you friendly motivational reminders of your upcoming sessions and to help remind you of your goal on the weekends. The gym also offers many workshops on a variety of topics from nutrition to weightlifting. AB Fitness also partakes in a variety of events to build your connections with gym members and staff. They have their own team for the Spartan race coming up in November and are offering sessions to help build your endurance for the race. I have lost a considerable amount of weight and my friends and family have noticed. I feel like a different person and have found my confidence once again. The sessions are quick and fun. You learn how to use the weights and maximize your results. A lot of your progress will be dependent on how well you stick to your meal plan. This has been the best gym I have been apart of. They care about you and your goals. Each team member knows your name and a little about you. Thank you all, AB Fitness for helping me grow and become stronger once again!

I was expecting a big date in a few months and wanted to look/feel my best. I was struggling to find a personal trainer in the area that fit my needs and seemed the best fit, until I spoke with Anthony at AB Fitness. What got my attention at first was that he was interviewing me to see if I'd be the right fit for the place--he cared about being able to provide what I was looking for and cared that we'd be the right fit for each other. After I joined, he worked with me closely on a customized meal plan and answered all the silly questions I had.
The gym itself is a small but motivating studio, with trainers that pay close attention to your movements and strengths and motivated me to push harder. The trainers are kind, motivating and extremely helpful.
The first week I was sore like crazy, but with the consistency of it it became second nature.
I was only there for six weeks because I ended up moving really far, but in six weeks I lost the pounds and inches I was hoping to lose and I genuinely feel stronger in all parts of my body--my endurance has increased immensely. The workouts and food tips I've learned throughout my time at AB Fitness I plan to carry with me throughout my life as I work on creating healthier habits and building a sustainable lifestyle.

I started with AB Fitness in March 2019. My doctor has always encouraged me to lose a little weight and it’s something that I kept in the back of my mind. Before I started training with AB Fitness I was letting myself go a little, I wasn't eating the healthiest things and my idea of a workout was using the stairs instead of the elevator. I've had trainers before at other gyms, mostly one-on-one but they don't give you the attention that AB Fitness gives. The trainers truly show that their care about their customers, and that's not even the right word, they treat me and everyone else like their friends and family. They make sure that it's not just about the fitness but about the diet as well. I don't make recommendations unless I truly believe it deserves a 5-star rating and this place definitely does. Six weeks ago I walked into AB Fitness and made one of the best decisions of my life.
I have always struggled with my weight. It has been an ongoing, uphill losing battle. Over the course of my life I have tried pretty much every type of weight loss/diet. Each time with little results or not lasting results. And once menopause hit, things just got worse. My weight crept up even more and became even more stubborn. On top of that my energy level was at an all time low. I felt physically uncomfortable and self-conscious. At the beginning of the year, I was diagnosed with Osteopenia in my neck and back. My doctor recommended losing weight and weight training. Weight loss seemed impossible and weight training was definitely not something I was interested in trying. The thought of it actually scared me. I couldn’t imagine myself lifting weights but I knew something had to be done. I just didn’t know where to start. Lucky for me, AB Fitness Center is down the road from my house and I drive past is daily. I felt like I should at least check it out.
I was so apprehensive when I first walked in but Anthony immediately greeted me with the warmest welcome and his big smile. He proceeded to explain why weight training is so important and how his weight loss/fitness program works. The diet plan sounded simple enough (and all real food) and the work out was 2-3 times a week for 30 minutes (seriously that’s it). That Saturday, I showed up for my first work out. I was so nervous walking in the door but the trainers, Pete and Laura, were both so friendly. They really made me feel welcome. The work out itself was so hard and I struggled to get through it but the trainers consistently cheered me on and motivated me to continue. It was a LONG 30 minutes. I could barely walk home (and I live a few blocks away). The next two days were not pleasant. I was so sore. The thought of quitting did cross my mind but thankfully I didn’t give in. Each workout after got better and better. The trainers continue to motivate and push you just the right amount. I couldn’t believe how much stronger I felt after even just a few workouts.
The meal plan is easy to follow. Anthony makes if very simple to understand and even sends helpful videos. Most importantly, he is always there to answer your questions.
In just 6 weeks, the changes have been amazing. First of all, I have more energy than I have had in years and my aches and pains have all subsided. I have lost more weight than I ever thought possible in 6 weeks and my shape has changed quite a lot. I feel amazing. And something I wasn’t expecting at all, at my most recent physical (after less than 3 weeks on the program), my cholesterol level went down significantly – I had no idea a change like that could happen so fast. I am so excited to see where the next 6 weeks take me. For the first time, I actually feel like I am going to succeed and reach my goals!
Anthony and AB Fitness are absolutely the best of the best!!!! If you looking to lose weight or get in shape, I highly recommend you give AB Fitness a try, you will not be disappointed. I am truly grateful to the new life they have given me!!!

I got diagnosed with osteoporosis in both my hips and the doctor recommended weight training and medication. I refused to take the medication and decided to try weight training. I never liked weight training I wouldn’t even say like...hated is a better word! My son was coming to AB Fitness Center and he recommended me to come and try it out. I nervously called and I am so glad I did. When I walked in the door everybody was so friendly and welcoming that it calmed my nerves. After never having worked out ever I was very self conscious and the staff made me feel so comfortable. I felt so weak and was nervous I wasn’t going to be able to do good. I really like the well designed nutrition plan. It is very easy to follow and actually couldn’t believe how much I was under eating! It’s been about 2 months and I can’t believe how much progress I have made! Initially the first two weeks I was really sore. Never worked out that hard in my life! It was a struggle in the beginning but within the 3rd and 4th week I felt like I got the workout “high”. I feel so good after every session. I was always afraid to get hurt and the staff teaching is so in depth it makes it easy!

I never felt this good, had this much energy in my life at 56 years old! My husband can’t believe how much energy I have. As most of you women know when menopause hits sleeping becomes impossible but not after consistent training!

I found AB fitness after Googling “best gyms near me.” AB Fitness isn’t a gym, it’s a transformation studio. A few months prior, I tried a different personal training studio, but saw no results. When I met with Anthony for the first time, he said everything I wanted to here. They focused on strength training and explained the mechanisms of muscle gain and fat burning. I gained 20lbs over a year, while focusing on my studies. After I graduated I promised to focus on myself. AB Fitness helped me to lose 18lbs in 2 months. At first I had my doubts, because milk and cereal (my weakness) were included in my meal plan, but I committed to the plan and workouts. Within 2 months, I went from a very tight/force fitting size 10 jeans, to a loose fitting 8, to a now comfy size 6. I've known Anthony now for almost 2 years - my mother started going to him first, and occasionally, I would join her while she would go work out. I never fully committed because I was afraid to abandon my own routine and try something new. I managed to keep the fat off all that time! Fast forward 13 years later and my son is getting married and I wanted to take some more fat off for the wedding. I got in touch with him and in 3 months I am exactly where I need to be for my sons wedding. The diet is easy to follow and the workouts are intense. Anthony is truly the best.

Before I went to Anthony I was a terribly out of shape fatboi with no diet plan or exercise that would get me anywhere. Constantly hitting a brick wall over and over expecting different results. Wasn't able to bench a straw much less actual weights. After Anthony. I'm a robot sent from the future with the task to save humanity after a character arc where I discover my own humanity. I can bench press a truck and I have limitless endurance. I really have to give the based fitness god all the credit for turning me into the mercyfilled killing machine I am now.
