My son started at AP as a freshman. As a football player, he wanted to earn a starting spot, and knew he needed to get stronger and faster. From day one he loved it, the people, the program, and especially the coaches. They held him accountable and made him look forward to going to the gym.

The results have been incredible. AP put him on the path to becoming a starting offensive lineman on a varsity program. He never would have gotten that level of support and structure from the school program alone. Tom even came to his games, which says everything about the kind of community they have built.

I cannot overstate the difference between AP and a regular gym. The confidence and self-esteem he has gained are immeasurable. I am so thankful for the entire AP team and cannot recommend them highly enough.

I joined AP a little over a year ago now. I have done crossfit in the past, and have been to a couple different gyms in the area. But, after bouncing off of those gyms, I can confidently say that I have found my "home".

Exercise, for me, is an important part of both my mental and physical wellness. If you are reading this, and are feeling weighed down by anything mentally, or feeling the aches and pains that just come with existing, don't underestimate the power of a good workout to boost your mood and help you feel better.

The thing that really makes this gym stand out is the people. Every single person is just so welcoming and encouraging of people at all levels of fitness. There is no judgement or unwanted pressure from anybody. They meet you where you are at, and help you get to where you want to go. You will make friends here. It is unavoidable. Even if you are the most introverted introvert that ever stood against a wall at a party.

Amazing place! All trainers have a lot of knowledge, pay attention to detail and no matter the fitness level someone has they will always find a way to get a good workout for everyone. And the atmosphere is super welcoming everyone is super supportive and right away you feel part of the team. I’m attending a class for age 50 and over members. The focus is on strength, balance, and endurance. This class is perfect for anyone who hasn’t been training recently. The training is designed to help you avoid injuries. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable. It’s the best atmosphere, not intimidating, and you will definitely be inspired to improve your lifestyle and start working on changing your bad habits. My son started athletic training, over a year ago, to keep in shape and increase his athletic abilities to play high school football. The staff has been wonderful and the varied schedule has really worked well accommodating our busy family schedules. The regular evaluations help to see my son’s progress over time, especially the before and after photos and measurements. I would 100% recommend Absolute Performance.

I’ve been attending classes at AP for a few weeks now, and I can’t say enough good things about the experience! The coaches are incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, and great at tailoring workouts to all fitness levels, making every session both challenging and achievable. This gym truly impressed me. I’ve been working out since I was young and started CrossFit at 18. Over the years, I’ve been a long-time member at two other CrossFit gyms and have gone through military training. I can confidently say that the way Tom and Sheila have built this program is intentional and centered around delivering real value to the member.

The environment is both fun and social, the programming is accessible to all fitness levels, and they’ve even incorporated built-in goal setting and regular check-ins. I’ve gained more skill here than I have at any other gym in the past 10 years. It’s clear they genuinely care about customizing the experience to support your fitness and overall wellness goals. I was a runner for many years and belonged to several gyms. I started at AP when I was 49 with an achilles injury and bad shoulder. I did not know what Crossfit was, and had never done a burpee, squat or deadlift. I was just looking for something to help me stay in shape.

At 56, I am now in the best physical condition of my life. I can landscape all weekend, hike, and take long bike rides. My shoulder injury is not only resolved but is stronger with better range of motion. It took a couple years, but my achilles issue is fully resolved and I can run once again. My back is stabilized, strong, and better than it has ever been. And, all of the progress I have made took place despite multiple health disruptions associated with cancer treatments and recovery.

AP is a unique experience. Its a place where people of all ages, walks of life, and goals come together as a community to get a little stronger, be a little healthier, and have a lot of fun. Show up for a few classes a week with Tom and Sheila- you won’t regret it.

My experience at Absolute Performance has been life altering. Many gyms claim they are a community, but AP is truly that. I think it comes partly from the CrossFit culture, but more importantly it comes from the coaching staff. The coaches and athletes were all welcoming from Day 1 and that hasn’t changed in the 2 1/2 years I’ve been there. With scalable workouts people at any fitness level can participate and feel a sense of accomplishment at the end of the WOD. In addition to fitness coaching there is also nutrition counseling available. This is extremely important for any athlete. AP provides a whole body approach to health and fitness. My transformation was made possible through consistent exercise and changing my nutrition. AP helped me do that. My only regret is that I didn’t join AP sooner!

We have loved what the program has done for our 10 year old son. His confidence is through the roof, he’s genuinely happy to go three times a week, and he has made friends who are happy to see him when he attends. I recently joined AP after a couple years away from CrossFit. The owners and coaches have all been amazing and the community is super welcoming. The facility provides a wide variety of options and the workouts have been excellent. They do a great onboarding program that gives you 1:1 coaching to assess your current fitness level, introduce the gym, discuss goals, and learn/review common movements. I’m hooked and highly recommend for anyone considering starting a new fitness routine or switching from another gym!

**Plus Update**
My son recently turned 13, is in 8th grade, and had never worked out before. He played modified football this year and started, but he isn't ready to play JV. After just one month with Tom and his team, we have seen significant improvement in his athletic performance. He nearly doubled his vertical jump, increased his broad jump, and decreased his times on the 10/20 yard dashes and 15 yard agility drill. The program is age-appropriate and challenging to get results, but also fun and keeps him engaged. It has only been one month, but I highly recommend AP to anyone looking to help their high school athlete.

**Update**
After 7 months, the results have incredible! When my son started, he was benching 10 lb barbells, squatting 15 lb kettle bells, and deadlifting wasn’t a thing he had done. At 7 months he benched 110 lbs, squatted 200, and is deadlifting well over 200 pounds. This is on top of significantly increasing all of his speed/agility numbers! His numbers are better than most linemen on the JV level that are older with more experience lifting. The program at AP is excellent to develop the entire athlete - strength AND speed - and I highly recommend them.

Got lured into this torture chamber by my daughter, and I'm glad I did. This staff are knowledgeable and friendly and make novices like myself feel as welcome as the long-timers. This is as far from a boring, old-school gym membership as you can get. Kids to grandparents, with workouts tailored to each persons ability and fitness level. Loving it.

I've been coming here for nearly a month and am blown away. The staff is amazing and tailors all the workouts to your current skill level and makes adjustments for injuries, while still pushing you to do the most at your level.

They're also focused on helping you to improve holistically, not just in the gym. When you first start you discuss goals - both inside and outside the gym - with your coach, and they check up and offer feedback to ensure you're making steps towards your goals.

It's a very positive atmosphere, both from the coaches and from other gym members, everyone pushes you to go further and do the best you can regardless of your skill level.

The best part is you no longer have to worry about doing your own programming, the workouts are already set each day so you just show up and go. They start with stretching and rolling out muscles, then move into a series of warm-ups, and skills related directly to the workout, then you move into the workout. If you're unable to do the workout as it's listed due to injuries or your current level, a coach will talk with you and determine the best alternative that allows you to still work the appropriate muscle groups. There is absolutely no shame in this, everyone is working at their own pace together. The comradery I've experienced so far is like nothing else I've seen since leaving high school sports. Truly anyone can do this, and it's an amazing group of people.

There are also loads of opportunities to progress your skill level and to train specific things so you can get into more complicated movements as you go.

There are also tons of internal and external resources for nutrition, chiropractics, and physical therapy.

Absolute Performance is phenomenal! After having my second baby I found myself in a fitness funk. I wasn't looking forward to workouts like I once used to. That's when I found AP which helped me find that motivation again.

The coaches and entire community are incredibly supportive and they will cater to all levels of fitness. They were also fantastic postpartum. Tom literally carried my baby around just so I could get a workout in and Sheila was a wealth of knowledge on properly easing my body back into working out again. I could not speak more highly of this gym!

When I moved back to NY from SC 6 years ago, I left my cross family behind. After years of spending time with a community that was my second home, I felt a little lost and honestly didn’t think I’d be able to find a place like that. I finally took the step 2 weeks ago and trusted my gut , took a chance, and set up an initial meeting with Tom and Frank. That day forward, I knew this is where I wanted to be. The coaching staff has made me feel comfortable, capable and powerful. The positivity illuminates in the gym. I’m 57 years old and not a gym person typically. I usually dread going & will more often than not talk myself out of going. I am not very confident in myself but this has become my favorite time of day. I absolutely love it. They are so encouraging, accepting and supportive with no judgment. Absolute Performance is the Absolute Best🤘🏽

I originally was looking for 1-on-1 training, of the usual set lifting schedule (three days a week, main lifts like bench, squat, deadlifting, etc) as that was I had been used to throughout my collegiate career. After talking with the staff here and attending an introduction class to see how it was structured, I immediately knew this was the place to be.

No matter your fitness background, no matter your age, they keep you involved in your journey in a way that allows you to feel in control of how you are progressing as they challenge you. They are well versed with working around injuries(whether they are old ones flaring up or new ones sprouting), and the other members of the class are always supportive and helpful as well.

I can easily say working out is not something I find myself dreading anymore in my day. It's packed full of great music, great people, and a shared experience of getting better together, no matter each members starting level. All can participate and all can be great together!

I have been blessed to work with Tom and the entire AP staff for several years now. Tom has helped me transform both physically and mentally. From high school to college and post college career. The culture this place provides cannot be beat. It is something special you won’t find at any other gym. Truly a team atmosphere where everyone is there to help and push each other to new heights. I have taken both a boys baseball team and girls softball team for training and both teams had a lot of fun. Some of the girls liked it enough that they wanted to continue the workouts after the team training ended. Tom and his instructors make it and challenging and fun for the teams. He also allows the coaches to work out too so they can see how much is really being done first hand.

Originally from Buffalo, I’ve lived in NYC for 15 years now, but visit my hometown often. The coaches and crew at Absolute Performance have become the only box I’ll go to when visiting Buffalo. I can always count on a great workout, super knowledgeable coaches, and a very welcoming community of athletes. I train six days a week, but due to lots of travel I end up at many different boxes around the country. Absolute Performance has continually ranked at the top of my list. I would highly encourage all athletes, regardless of skill or experience level, to take a class and learn why I always look forward to going when visiting Buffalo.
