I can't say much about the gym itself because I was unable to get a membership. I stopped in many times over several months during what was supposed to be staffed hours and was unable to get inside or find any staff. On one occasion a member let me inside but there was no staff to sign up. I called the phone number for the location several times during business hours and wasn't able to talk with any staff. I finally was able to contact the National phone number after several attempts at that as well but the staff didn't seem to know what they were talking about or didn't really seem to care to help me. I have heard that staff is rarely at this location from former members.

Updated on 11/14/25. I will now rate this place a one along with Anytime Fitness Corporation. Gym will now close. Well managed, great staff, nice equipment options, and a place for everyone. Updated on 7/13/22. Smartest move made by the owner to hire Holly. Never seen the fitness center so clean and well managed! Updated 6/18/24. Unfortunately the gym is not staffed well. The new owner is unavailable and operates the gym with I believe one staff member who is only part time. Many things which need attention are not fixed. The gym has a great group of members but unfortunately if things are not addressed membership may drop.

Above average Anytime in a stand alone building. Extra accessories like a trap bar and a safety squat bar. There's also an unusual and very neat iso-lateral lat pulldown machine.

Manager was extremely rude. Me and a few friends have gone to this location 4-5 times to get key fobs. We have memberships and lost our key fobs but every time we have gone, nobody is there. Last night 9/23 we were working out and got kicked out by a fat guy that doesn’t work at anytime fitness but called the manager. The professionalism isn’t there. Office hours are posted online and we have yet to see anyone in the office at the posted times. We will try to go one more time, hope someone is there. Don’t understand how a corporation this large can allow such absent employees.

From my experience, it's got everything you need, there's parking for a big rig fairly close, everything seems clean and well-maintained, the area is quaint and has a bit to offer, most everyone seems really nice.

If you're looking for all the bells and whistles (pool, basketball, etc.), they're not here. If you're looking for a good gym where you can get in a good workout of weight training or cardio, it's got everything you need.

Nice equipment but management is very unresponsive. I'm currently a member and have been asking when the stationary bicycle subscription will be renewed. I've left a comment for the staff four times over the past month and have been completely ignored.

Can't recommend to others.

I have canceled my subscription. Corporate was very helpful in canceling my subscription, otherwise I may have been stuck paying the gym since the owners never seem to be present during business hours.

This gym location is NEVER available in person, over the phone or through email. They can post on facebook daily though.... as it says with other reviewers, I need to cancel my membership and am STILL getting billed even though I transferred to a new Anytime Fitness in Utah and got billed through the Utah location. The Anytime fitness here in Utah however, is magically staffed when they say they will be, takes phone calls and returns them... But now that Ive also cancelled that membership (Vasa is just bigger, better and cheaper) the Canamdaigua location is continuing to bull me. Based on what Ive seen in other reviews, in other Anytime fitnesses, etc., Im reporting this location to the better business bureau and will be considering further legal action as I believe this location is intentionally being unavailable for customers so they can hang on to money from members who otherwise wish to cancel.

I like working out at the club, but I need to suspend my membership for a few months. Have left messages on their phone, have written emails since October and at the end of December I am still getting billed!!!! I know that this has happened with others. Their system for following up on messages needs to improve!

I have been trying to cancel for like a month now. Corporate is saying that I need to contact them, while they are not there. It's staffed hours right now according to their website, and yet they don't pick up the phone. And for a business to not have a voice-mail set up, they must be having a bunch of people trying to leave the same message as I am trying to. I am quitting, and personally, would like my last month payment back. It was charged after my initial contact to cancel.

This gym is great! It's super clean. Attendees and staff are very friendly. There's plenty of equipment including cardio, free-weights, weight machines, a studio room, spin bikes, and more. There are private bathrooms and showers which are cleaned often. Even with Covid restrictions, the hours are good. Everyone wears a mask and cleans equipment when finished. I only know one staff member by name so far, and that's Andrew F. He gave me a tour and signed me up. He is a very knowledgeable, professional, and amicable young man. I definitely recommend Anytime Fitness in Canandaigua.

The staff is friendly and keep the place clean! I was also impressed with how they handled the 5-month long COVID shutdown, communicating regularly through social media doing the right thing by their customers in terms of billing. As with all gyms, crowding at certain times makes getting on weights a challenge, however their extended hours solved that problem for me. Aaaaand they have snacks that aren't pizza and tootsie rolls on special occasions. It has the benefits of a national chain with the local vibe of a well run franchise.

My boyfriend and I signed up on Black Friday. We’ve been going regularly ever since. Rich was wonderful when helping us sign up and made sure we were comfortable with everything. We had an appointment set up with Andrew to do a body scan which went great! He set up a private appointment to help us get started with some workout plans. He was so helpful and started us somewhere we were able to handle. I’m so excited to be apart of such an amazing gym and so thankful they make us feel welcome. They are wonderful and don’t shame their clients who are trying to get back on track. I highly recommend this gym and see ourselves going here for years to come. I’ll never go to a different gym again.

It’s a very nice facility that offers free weights, a circuit, weight machines, and plenty of cardio machines. The staff is friendly and the facility is very clean. My only reason for not giving it five stars is because they only have two showers available. Because I tend to go in the morning before work, sometimes I would have to wait up to 15 minutes before I could take a shower. And then I would have to adjust my schedule accordingly. It would be nice if they had a couple extra showers available.

Awesome gym. Always clean and has good variety of equipment to get a good workout. For a smaller sized gym, it has a good selection of equipment from squat racks and free weights to cardio equipment. All the equipment is in really good condition as well. Staff is super friendly and the other gym members are generally courteous and friendly as well. I’ve been to a few other Anytime Fitness locations and this one is by far the best.

I love this gym. It's bright and new and the atmosphere really makes me look forward to working out. The machines are new and the staff are friendly and welcoming. It's also a lot less expensive than the YMCA. There are no classes included in the monthly fee but there is a wide range of cardio and weight machines, free weights, mats, etc. I would highly recommend Anytime Fitness.

Another beautiful ATF! The club is a good size and is located in a great spot (next to Taco Bell). The staff is VERY friendly and they have everything you need to get in a good workout. Plenty of cardio equipment and free weights plus a sizeable room for classes. The bathrooms are spotless and smell nice! Highly recommended gym to workout ANYTIME!
