This club’s main positive is the cheap cost. Everything is so-so. Music is too loud especially when nearly everyone wears headphones or earbuds. Machines are tied up with people on phones. Equip is dated and not in very good shape. Overall fair at best!!!

Too many people don't place weights back and the staff doesn't impose rules. They just stand behind the counter chatting.
Lot's of people hogg free weights so have to wait for a very long time.
Lots of people film themselves. Some people take selfies in the restroom and they don't care that they take pictures of others using the urinals.
It takes sometimes weeks to fix broken equipment.
Usually overcrowded.

Really packed now, almost at all times. A lot of equipment breaks down often and takes a while to be "fixed" and never replaced. Leaks everywhere! Pieces of the floor mats are missing all throughout the squat racks making it extremely dangerous to workout.

Dirty and crowded this gym has twice double charged me on the same day for personal training. It has been a bank/gym nightmare clearing it up. I found out why I was getting double charged — the staff AND their girlfriends/boyfriends were getting in the office. I try to be courteous and kind to others even in a dispute, but now their computer says I didn’t pay my dues (even though I showed them their Blink membership deduction on my phone’s bank app for the current month). Anyone can do better and avoid these financial problems and broken machines.

I am writing to express my disappointment regarding a situation that occurred during my recent visit to the gym.
As usual, I arrived with enthusiasm after work, ready to change clothes and begin my workout. However, upon arriving, I discovered that the bathrooms were under maintenance and there was no available space to change. Unfortunately, there was no prior notice, no signage at the entrance, nor any form of communication (email, message, or app notification) informing members of this temporary inconvenience.
As a result, I had no choice but to return home without exercising, which not only disrupted my schedule but also caused me to waste time and effort.

Good gym but they turn off the lights 30-40 before the time of closing... that's really disrespectful for the people having a workout update: 7/16.... it's over 95 degrees and no AC at this location. ... I do recommend to start looking for another gym..

Blink Fitness is a good gym, especially if you're looking for a clean and friendly environment. Compared to the Planet Fitness on 177th, Blink has fewer machines and the space feels smaller overall. Planet has three levels—two of which are fully functional—giving you more room and options. However, Blink still gets the job done and you can tell people there are more relaxed and focused. It's a solid gym if you value a calm atmosphere, even if it's not as big or equipped as other locations.

It’s an okay gym but always ridiculously crowded. Additionally it often takes 10+ minutes to get into the actual gym because one of the two elevators are almost always non-operational and they only allow 4 people per elevator. Would recommend another gym if you have the option.

The worst Blink fitness I have ever been to.
Their elevators are unreliable, and they have added a sign that saying we aren’t allowed to even use the stairs. The free weight section is constantly overrun by people using 3-5 sets of dumbbells at a time. The only reliable part of this gym is that half the machines are consistently broken, limiting the already small amount of gym equipment provided. This gym needs a full overhaul. Go somewhere else.

My rating for this Blink establishment is 4/5 stars. I give it this rating because I consider it the fairest: the gym has the necessary equipment to help you achieve your goals. However, there is one detail that led me to not give it a perfect score.
I find it disappointing, and even somewhat demeaning, that they don't have a modern scale or a proper weight meter so that users can accurately monitor their progress. In the bathroom, there is an old-fashioned, manually operated, balance-based scale, which I don't find entirely reliable or accurate.
Considering that this establishment probably serves more than 500 clients, and with plans starting as low as $22 per month, I think the bare minimum would be to offer a functional and accurate digital scale. It's a small but important detail, especially in a place dedicated to fitness.

one of the best gyms to work out at in new york city, hands-down, see details below
--------
-excellent access by mass transit via the 1 or the A train, there is a Marshalls directly across the street so you can also get some shopping done
-yes this gym is crowded however they do have a lot of machines so you can always get onto something very quickly
-there is a large section of cardiovascular equipment and there is a very small amount of leg machines which means that there's always a queue if you want to train your legs. this is not a good thing. note however that they do have two seated leg-extension machines, which is obviously very popular, so that does help.
-overall I sensed a positive attitude and mood at this gym (this is very important)
-most of the girls and guys at this gym are very good looking (if you care about that sort of thing)
-every single machine that I saw in the gym floor worked. i don't know why people are saying stuff is broken. i did not see a single machine that was broken (feb '25) during my visit
-excellent temperature control. i was wearing a simple T-shirt and shorts and i did not feel too hot nor too cold during a hard workout session. this was on a day when the temperature was in the 20s and there was light snowfall outside in feb '25
-the front desk staff was nice to me when I checked in. there was a girl at the front who went out of her way to help me as I had a personal need
-many people are saying that this gym is this and that and so on and so forth in terms of complaints however the energy here combined with the fact that every single machine worked WITH fluid motion throughout the rep, and having people jump on and off so you could get your cycle in means that it is by far one of the best places to work out in manhattan, bar none. yes, there is room for improvement in some areas, however the core needs of any person wanting to exercise and get in shape are present here which is the most important thing: positive energy, every single machine is working, excellent temperature control, and you can always get in a quick set even when it's crowded, as every gym is in new york city

I do really like this gym, the atmosphere is great, people who visit it are very polite and sociable. The individuals who are on charge of cleaning the gym are very professional, and are very aware of everything that happens around the gym. The only thing I see about this gym is that it's kind of small, but besides that the gym overall is capable of making your routine a fantastic experience.

Ok, So where to start. Gym is a mess, only one semi working spin bike with gears caked in sweat and missing tow straps. The place is
hot, guess the AC is not working. Only one working elevator guess the part is coming from the outer solar system since it’s been broken for over Six years.
Head up to Riverdale only 15 mins away and at least they care.

- Always packed and weights will be scattered all over the place while the employees chitchat at the front desk.
- The stairmasters (3 out of 5) have been broken for over a month and a half (if not longer) as of today.
- They don’t have enough barbells for the number of squat racks and benches. How’s that even possible for a gym that stays this busy?
- There’s been a leak or something going on with the men’s bathroom since last year and still to update or progress. Currently the issue has made one of the squat racks unusable as well as the ability to shower!
Honestly, if there’s was any other gym in the area that wasn’t PF, I would ditch this place ASAP. I reached out to support for an update and of course the provided the most non-answer ever.

Worst gym I’ve ever had. Place is always packed making it take double the time to get the workout you want. Things break all the time and it takes forever to get it fixed. One of their elevators was out for months and if you go in the morning you have to wait to get in because there’s a line of people waiting to go upstairs. Machines are not fixed quickly either. Three of their stair machines have been out for weeks. Would have left months ago had I not been locked in a contract

If there were negative stars, I would use them. This company seems just as shady as any of the other conglomerates. They take advantage of the people who are barely getting by, while at the same time filing for bankruptcy. I lost my job last month and have been trying to have this bill cancelled (to avoid fees and debt) and they continue to tell me the same thing. It seems so unfair that they are unwilling to cancel my membership without penalty while simultaneously making the world known that THEY ARE FILING FOR BANKRUPTCY and selling their brand. This is one prime example of how the system screws the little man. I literally only used their premises twice in a 6 month period. Please find another place to exercise and get healthy!!! This company seems just like any other capitalist pig, who can care less about their customers. Never again.

The gym only has one working elevator. They do not allow you to take the stairs. If you go to the gym in the morning, you have to wait in line for the elevator that only takes 4 people at a time. If you have nothing to do with your time and don’t mind waiting around at 5 AM then it won’t bother you. This has been the case for months.

Been going here for a year on and off when I’m in the area. Place is proof that you get what you pay for. This gym is always crowded. And lately more and more of their equipment is broken. The owner is either not bothering to reinvest in this place or he is not paying attention. There is a limited amount of cable machine attachments. Certainly not enough for every machine. I’ll jump on one of the cable machines as soon as it becomes available and then I’ll have to let it go because I’ll walk the entire room and can’t find it even one extra hand grip attachment. Also long wait times to get on machines because everybody’s busy on their phones or setting up tripods so they can record themselves. A Work out that should take me one hour end up taking me two hours.

I Love this place, But it's ANNOYING when you allow people to use equipment to hold Tripods or even allowing them in the gym. The Gym is suppose to be a place to come and put in work. It appears that the typical individual may experience intimidation when entering a gym environment where individuals are frequently recording videos or capturing photographs (I admit to participating in this as well). The gym ought to serve as a sanctuary for anyone aspiring to improve themselves.

I've been going to the gym for quite some time now, and I've never experienced a gym that opens at 5:30am but you are able to go up by 5:40-5:45am unless you are there at 5am forming a line, because they have to elevator and one isn't functional and the one that works only 4 ppl at a time and you are not allowed to use the stairs, ot counting a couple of other issues
Update, the second elevator has been broken for two months now, no notice as per when it's going to be fix, and still clients are not allowed to use the stairs, 9/11/2024 got here at 5:32am and it's now 5:42 and still waiting to go up

The owner truly doesn’t care for his clients. One of the elevator hasn’t been functioning for over a month and the door is locked which I think is a fire hazard because staff say the owner keeps the keys. With 1 elevator that is working they only allow 4 people in when the limit is 2,500 pounds, making us wait for over 10 mins to get in once the gym opens.. let me not mention the issues the gym has. An area has been having water issues for months, another area leaks whenever it rains! Owner truly doesn’t care! Go elsewhere. Do better! Giving it a few more weeks if not to planet fitness I go..
UPDATE 8/19/24: 1 elevator is still out of service . A handful of machines are out of services. Officially canceling my membership and going to PF.

Of all the gyms I’ve been to, this is by far the cleanest and friendliest. The people who work here are extremely welcoming, helpful and knowledgeable about the equipment and different workouts to reach your goals. The trainers are amazing — especially Brandon. The manager, Czar is always willing to help and answer any questions I may have. Overall, this Blink location is top tier. Feels like friends and family and I always get a great workout. It could get packed at certain hours, but that’s expected of any gym at certain hours. There’s always a different workout to do while you wait for the equipment of your choice to become available. Alternatively, the culture amongst the clients here is very welcoming in which you can simple ask the person to alternate between sets with you and share the machine if ever necessary. The only thing I wish they had was a hip thrust machine. Y'all neeeeed this one, pls!

I’ve gone to this gym since 2022 and I've put up with many things. Such as how it's overcrowded 24/7, broken machines, worn down equipment, the elevator but never would I have expected to get harassed by an employee while working out on the treadmill. Jose Vega grabbed my arm while working out on the treadmill and told me not to put my hand on the treadmill display. Then told me I would be kicked out of the gym if I continued. At no point was applying pressure to the display. This is something that many people do when taking rest breaks. That was the last straw. I canceled my membership right there and then. Nothing should excuse and employee grabbing a client in the middle of a workout. Find yourself another gym because this one clearly doesn't respect their clients.

I am happy with this Blink gym. It is pretty big and they offer quite a lot for the price. There is a planet fitness a few blocks away which is nowhere near a good btw imo. MY ONLY COMPLAINT is the fact that THE ELEVATORS seem to break down on a fairly regular basis which can keep you waiting longer than you'd like. They do have stairs which would help one avoid the wait for the elevator but THERY DO NOT GIVE YOU THAT OPTION. Also the elevators can take weeks to get fixed?!!! Not sure why. Perhaps there is a shortage of elevator repair people.
ANYWAY! I really think blink needs to step up to the plate and take care of this.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the current state of the gym's bathroom facilities. While I appreciate the friendly staff and generally functional equipment, the persistent uncleanliness of the bathrooms has become unacceptable.
As someone who frequents the gym and occasionally uses the showers before work, I find it concerning that the bathrooms have remained in a state of disrepair for several weeks. Specifically, there is a broken light in the men's bathroom that has not been fixed for two weeks, and the shower curtains are in a state of disrepair.
I kindly request that the gym management address these issues promptly to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for all members. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

I had a terrible experience in the Washington Heights Blink location with the team member JOEL. It had to do with my membership and he treated me like I was a criminal off the streets. I asked for a supervisor but not one was appointed to me. Blink wants to make me pay for the money that ran through out the Covid-19 pandemic when NOBODY could go to the gym. I wasn’t allowed to close down my gym membership during this time like anybody else. I was humiliated at the Washington Heights location, made me feel like I was less than and kept me in the dark about information. Due to Joel’s behavior towards me I have decided to cancel my membership because I will not be in a facility where I’m not being heard or seen by anybody around me let alone respected.

CONS: The elevators are brutal. They take forever and are sometimes down and only 4 people can ride at a time. There are stairs accessible but they won’t unlock the doors. The only way in or out is the elevator. If there is a fire, the staff have keys to unlock the stairs but unless there’s a fire, we can’t use them.
A lot of days the AC isn’t on so it feels like you’re in the bellybutton of someone who just ran a marathon in a snowsuit.
Overall a fine gym with basically everything you need. If you don’t mind waiting for the elevator and sweating before you start working out, it’s great.

terrible gym. always busy. elevator always busted or terribly slow. I’ve been stuck inside the elevator for more than 15 minutes on more than a few occasions. they shut down one elevator now, so there’s always a line to use the elevator to get to the gym. they keep the stairwell locked which is really messed up and likely a fire safety problem. management needs to re-examine the stairwell because the elevator is a nightmare

The fact that the elevators are always broken and you’re not permitted to use the stairs is infuriating (and very odd for a fitness facility). If you’re hoping for a quick workout and get screwed over by the elevator, you could realistically be looking at a waste of 15-20 mins if elevators are backed up coming and going. I just had to leave because there were over 15 people waiting to use one elevator with no other options. I wish I could say this is a rare occurrence. It’s not.

I’ve been going to this location for the past week and I’ve only had positive experiences so far. Staff is friendly, gym is clean, locker rooms are great, and I love the equipment.
I’ve seen a lot of reviews with complaints about people using bench presses and squat racks for very long periods of time. My sessions last about an hour and in my experience I’ve been able to use the equipment that I need to in that span of time, I didn’t see excessive use of it so I’m very happy about that since it’s the reason I left Planet Fitness.

Re-iterating everyone’s posts below. Would not recommend this gym to friends. They keep on enrolling more members when the gym is way over capacity. I’m constantly waiting in line for equipment, elevators are always broken and they refuse to let you use the stairs so you’re waiting to get in or out. No one regulates the free weights and everything’s always out of place. There’s some dank smell in there because of how crowded it is or something else I’m afraid to ask. I’m locked in because of the annual fee so that’s just how they get you. I’ve left countless feedback about this on their online survey and nothing changes. They just keep on asking you if the front desk greets you, as if that makes me want to come back.

The management has been a lot better than it was when I first started going to this location over a year ago. The broken equipment gets fixed faster, the facility as a whole is cleaner and the staff is both genuinely friendly and approachable.
Special shout out to Evy. She is all over the place and has a great sense of urgency to cover all areas. The effort is very much appreciated.

This Blink location is accessible via two elevators and no stairs. One of two elevators is broken so consistently, I wonder if the business model of this location is to profit by saving electricity - which is paradoxical considering this location is also at 400% of it's capacity 24/7. You wait on line for the elevator, then you wait on line for the bench press. On a positive note, once you find a working elliptical..you can watch TV, but only 2 channels work out of 30.

I signed up for a dollar and ended up paying 100 to cancel because I missed the 3 day grace period. I honestly wanted to give it a chance, which is why I waited to see if my experience would get better but it didn’t. Broken machines, people swinging on the cables like a circus. Everyone laughed but nobody said a thing. Lol People literally lifting up the benches to take it to their side. The list is long, but I’ll never step foot into another blink. Especially in Washington Heights . Smh my neighborhood, I’ll stick to running and the parks. It’s free.

So had my yearly payment due and I wasn’t aware, a day before checked and there was no balance. So go to the gym early in the Am and one of the workers literally follow me all the way to the steps by the lockers running shouting “miss, miss” thought something was wrong, to tell me you can’t stay you have a balance of $70 so I was surprised as well, very confused and told him thank you and left. He could had told me you have a balance please make the payment for next time since I’m already in the gym ready to work out. Found it very rude and sad, mean while he was the only one on the front desk and other people were coming in without checking their status, so sad because I loved this gym so close to my house and the other workers were always friendly but this experience just filled me with embarrassment won’t be able to come back. 😥

I have been a Blink member for more than 7 years and this particular Blink in Washington Heights it is frustrating to workout at this location. The Big reason it is few individuals or people who goes to that particular Blink, they take over the Squad racks at least for 2 hours exercising and filming videos of themselves of their exercise routines. There is a particular guy who always take middle Squad rack spend two hours every time he goes staring filming himself working out the same routines at least for two hours while others members like me are waiting for the rack to do Squad exercise, that particular individual use that rack for Squad exercise, bring the bench to do chest as well and shoulders in the same Squad rack he doesn't let it go for two hours minimum, Blink needs to put rules in the walls like others gyms 30 minutes use per person for every Squad Racks and for every exercise machines as well. I feel like to cancel my membership anytime soon because it is very frustrating, me and few of my friends already had made complaints about it to management nothing had been done to resolve the issues.

The stretching/aerobics area is filthy. I don't think anyone cleans it ever. My wife and I have mentioned it to staff, but the conditions have not changed.
Otherwise, good gym with plenty of equipment and a fair price.

Update summer 2022 elevators are constantly broken, takes 10 min to get in and out of this venue. They don’t open the stairways god only knows why. Water fountains dispense warm water. - The elevator are so incredibly slow. It is a frustrating experience to get to the gym. Instead of starting your work out with a positive energy you start the workout with frustration. Also the stretching area is very dirty, dust and crumbs in every corner

This is the worst Blink I have ever been to...I have been to several different Blinks over the years..Nassau st in Lower Manhattan, Grand Central, W 116th in Harlem and Astoria. Washington Heights is the worst..broken machines that get fixed rarely ..old worn out seating..many times NO wiipes...too crowded for such a small space. Mis managed.

It seems 85% of the kettlebells have disappeared this weekend, what is the reason behind this? So many ppl use them at once and now there isn’t any available. Please bring some more back on the floor. It’s like getting rid of HALF the dumbbells?!
Also please note you’re missing a set of 16KG. ☹️

BWH is fine but Blink corporate is awful. They'll charge you forever while sending no emails to let you know (they didn't even send an email to let anyone know their membership had been unfrozen after the pandemic!), and then they won't refund you nor let you cancel without time wasting procedures. When you finally get to the cancellation stage they'll charge you a $$ "cancellation fee"!

So it gets one star for its location and the fact there’s parking and another star because it’s affordable. However, I hate this gym and I’ve only been there two times. I have to cut my workout short because people HOGG UP THE MACHINES. Way too many people for the amount of sq ft in this place. This gym is exceedingly tiny. Equipment are good just need a lot more space. Also I find myself thinking of ok where can I go to lift weights- guess what they are all taken and all little mirror spaces are succumbed by dead lifters and hoggers. The bathrooms are small as well. The locker rooms (Atleast the girls) are small. The benches to sit in the locker rooms are always pushed against the lockers becauseITS SO SMALL. There’s only like three bathroom stalls and I guess that’s fine.
I am not new to working out and perhaps I was spoiled when I started my gym journey prior to my child. Pool, sauna, hot tub, dance classes, etc. buttttt this gym needs more sq ft and better people (the gym rats) and stronger policies - ’ll do this gym when I need to drive and need parking other than that I’ll be going to a different location. And eventually joining la fitness again.
