We are a female owned private strength training facility. We offer one on one personal training, strength and conditioning, powerlifting, sports specific training and regular everyday fitness.

As a female athlete it was important to me to find a trainer who was also a female althlete. I stumbled upon Shawna and have been training with her about a year now. I have noticed not only a change in how my body functions but also how it looks. I love working with Shawna because every training session is different, challenging and fun. She is tough but also encouraging and supportive. She is knowledgeable about how the body works and what to do to help my (many) injuries. I would, and have, recommend Shawna to pretty much everyone I know.

Jay and Shawna are great people! Very friendly even just after spending a little time with them you feel completely comfortable. Shawna also does body tempering. She worked on my troublesome tight quad and IT band. After a day of rest I had so much more mobility than before with less pain. Be sure to check it out.

Blue Collar Barbell is the place to go for strength and condition training. Blue Collar Barbell is a premier powerlifting gym on Long Island. I have been to many public/private gyms in the past 18yrs. BCB has found a way to combine great equipment with knowledgable and friendly trainers. As someone who holds a degree in Exercise Science, it was important for me to workout with trainers who know proper form and body mechanics. Best training facility on Long Island. If you’re training somewhere else you’re doing yourself a huge disservice. Shawna and her team are some of the best in the business. My first day at Blue Collar Barbell, I was a nervous wreck thinking, I'm not strong enough for this place, I'm not good enough for this place. I can now say I was 100% wrong!!! I initially went to Shawn for personal training and then I found myself training for my very first powerlifting meet. So out of character for me for so many reasons and I did it because of the strength and confidence I gained by working with Shawna! If anyone is even thinking about singing up somewhere, this is the place to go. I cannot say enough about them!

I started training once a week at BCB about 2 months ago and it’s been the most rewarding thing I’ve done in a long time. The way how coach Shawna adjusted my technique and form on squat added 50lbs to my squat and 60lbs to my benchpress inside of 2 months. That’s what makes her a expert! She can adjust your form and see where you’re weakest links are in seconds and tell you how to fix them just as quick. The BCB team is also just as helpful. It’s like a family. They take you in and help you do better and better.
