Amy is such a great instructor. It was my first Tai Chi class and she was just so warm and welcoming. I came here to feel at peace with myself and that’s exactly what I got. The experience was so amazing, Amy is great at helping you fix your form but also helping you relax and just be yourself during class. Also her instructing is pleasant!! Her voice is so calming and she knows how to say the right words to help a class stay engaged yet comfortable.

I have been attending classes for about 6months. I find my energy level, mindfulness, and ability to create calm for myself have all improved. The classes are challenging as well as fun, guided with individual attention when needed and staff devoted to their practice. I would prefer more time slots if possible.

For most of my life, my exercise was to take Karate classes. Due to injuries and for medical reasons, I had to stop studying Karate. In great need of physical exercise, for both my mind and my body, I started taking Tai Chi and other classes at the Rockville Centre Body & Brain facility. It’s the smartest thing I’ve done at this stage of life. The classes are friendly, welcoming, and very focused, to strengthen our “core,” improve our stability and help overcome our stressful days. My teacher, Master Ilene, is a teacher one can only hope for. She is not only our teacher, but is caring, understanding, and supportive of our goals in learning Tai Chi and related classes. I highly recommend these classes.

I’ve been with Body and Brain for 5 years now. The changes in me have been monumental. I’ve learned to breathe, to turn off my chatty brain, to keep myself at peace and not react to things out of my control. Most importantly 6 months into the practice I stopped taking antidepressant medication and haven’t been on them since. You will find enormous support to travel the road to a better you - both physically and mentally.

I came into the center feeling stressed, tension in my shoulders and neck and after a class with the trainer , Jackie, I felt like a different person. I was calm, relaxed… shoulders felt loose and it was truly fun and peaceful. The atmosphere of the center is open and inviting, the staff was friendly and you were encouraged to do what YOU could do, at your own pace and to listen to your body. The breathing exercises were very helpful in tuning back into my body and letting go of all the tension from my work. I will definitely be back!!

I highly recommend Body & Brain Rockville Centre for your mental/physical well-being. Jackie has a warm and welcoming personality, and she leads wonderful meditations. I was introduced to this business in a local networking group. Jackie has led the group in guided meditation and brain-body exercises. These sessions have helped me refocus and stay grounded. I was stressed out one morning with work and a dental appointment, and just taking that 10-minute "timeout" to meditate helped me course correct for the day. I could feel the stress melt away! I look forward to more of these sessions and checking out more Brain & Body offerings in 2021.

UPDATE - 10/20/20 I'm so happy the Rockville Centre Body and Brain Studio has reopened for in-person classes! The new Manager, Jackie, is terrific and has quickly gotten me back up to speed in my practice. My wife continues to enjoy the online classes, but I prefer the structure of face-to-face training. It's great to have that choice. Either way, Body and Brain ROCKS!!

My wife & I have been practicing Body & Brain Yoga for over 3 years now. The improvements in our health - physical, emotional, & spiritual - are so great, we couldn’t imagine not being able to participate. So when the studio was closed due to the pandemic, we were both very concerned. Then we heard Body & Brain would offer online classes via Zoom! We were excited yet wondered how it would work & if it would be anything close to the face-to-face classes. Well, I’m happy to say the online classes are excellent! There was a brief learning curve on both sides, but Zoom is very easy to use &, in no time, we were practicing again with our favorite instructors & mates!
We enthusiastically encourage anyone interested to give it a try & see for yourself. It’s the same terrific principles & practices and the same amazing instructors who’s expertise and caring shine through regardless of the medium.

Body and Brain RVC offers a wide variety of services that have helped me with not only my physical health, but also my spiritual and emotional health as well. I feel more calm and relaxed after leaving class. The people here really care about me and I feel a personalized aspect to coming to the center. Every time I go to class I leave feeling refreshed and happier overall, and I miss the center when I’m not there. Body and Brain has helped me handle my emotions better in my work and at home. 10/10 would recommend to anyone of any age or ability. As a teacher I was so stressed after the schools closed in March and I was teaching from home I knew I needed to find an online yoga class where I can move my body and calm my mind. B&B was the place that saved me from losing my mind . I loved the online classes and found myself making friends with the members online . I really enjoy the free webinars it helped me to understand myself better . If you are looking to move your body , learn how to meditate , I highly recommend you try this place out . Living in this new norm is not easy so give yourself the opportunity to get some peace in your day go on line and take a class all you need is a zoom account and a yoga mat !!!! Dealing with the pandemic was causing me so much stress. I was fortunate to see that Body & Brain offered lasses on-line. I was skeptical but gave it a try. Thank goodness. I feel really good for the first time in months. I didn't realize how stressed I really was. An hour later I feel so much better. I’m calmer, relaxed and got a great workout in too. This center is a warm cozy haven for healing and connection. The head instructor Melanie is amazingly hands-on and really wants to help each person achieve his or her goals. There are a variety of programs to check out, and I highly recommend the workshops, Initial Awakening (for meditation and mindfulness) and Finding True Self (for emotional healing and self discovery) in addition to the vibrant and relaxing classes. From the moment I walked into the center I was drawn to the colors on the walls reflective of the class itself; a blend of calm and bright happy energy. Master Melanie is an amazing, intuitive teacher. She can teach a general class while watching each member & assisting them with a movement as needed. Her classes provide excellent stretching, breathing & energy work.
She is an absolute joyful soul, able to easily explain the moves & related principles.
In just one to two classes you can begin to sense your body, calm your mind & awaken your ability to relax & let go.
