I have been training with Body by Berle for over a year now, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The staff is fantastic – professional, encouraging and always attentive to proper form. The workouts are only 30 minutes, but you feel the burn. They’re efficient, challenging, and designed to push you just the right amount.
In the past year, I’ve seen real, noticeable progress. I’m stronger, more toned, and have much better posture. Everyday activities feel easier, and I have more energy overall. What I love most is that the changes have been steady and sustainable, no burnout, no injuries just consistent improvement.
Highly recommend Body By Berle to anyone looking for an effective, time-smart workout with a team that genuinely cares about your results!

Very glad I chose to give Body by Berle a shot. I had a trial lesson about 13 years ago but chose to not pursue and keep up with my regular gym workouts. At the time the "slow" workout was not appealing. Being honest. Now, more mature with less time to devote to the gym, I came back as I like the idea of short and intense with good results.
The workouts are fun but very challenging. You get what you put into the workout. Just because you do it doesn't mean the results will come. You have to keep proper form and speed. The trainers push you and monitor your progress, seat height, weight used, etc. There is nothing for you to do but concentrate on the next exercise and giving it all of your focus and energy. It is not for everyone.
I highly recommend giving it a shot though. Been doing it 4 weeks now and the results show in more flexibility, stamina and overall muscle hardness, not to mention some v taper developing in my lats and stomach. You realize how the whole range of motion for an exerecise is meant to stimulate growth, not just the negative, or the peak point, or the push out, etc. Doing so allows max results in little time. For the money, you will not get a better personal training workout.
Adding as of 5/30/25 - Still highly recommend this program. No matter what I think I may know "on my own", these workouts continue to kick my ass better than anything I would do as an old school "meathead". You really give 10000% effort to get 10000% results. Though you may think you are undertraining, I assure you the rest is needed not only to recuperate mentally but to recuperate physically and then also grow as a result to the stimulus. Growth happens outside the gym and this workout gives you the right balance to have that happen.

I highly recommend Body By Berle. I have been working with them for a year. I’ve been training at Body by Berle for almost three months, and I’m really impressed with how effective the sessions have been. As a mom with a baby that requires constant care, I love that I can get in and out in just 30 minutes once a week. I started coming to address minor lower back pain and a weak shoulder from carrying my baby, and after just 10 sessions, I noticed the discomfort is gone. I no longer feel any kinks or pain, and I’m really happy with the progress I’ve made. My trainer, Derrill, is fantastic. He’s friendly and always encouraging. I recommend this place if you're looking for a efficient training!

I believe this is one of the best low profile personal training gyms in the area. Everyone is extremely friendly and they have a great training method that results in quick and efficient workouts that don’t injure you. Additionally, they have ton of free parking due to sharing a lot with the shopping center. They’re also right next to a planet fitness gym so if personal training isn’t your thing then that can always be a good plan B.

I started fitness training at BODY BY BERLE when the center was still in Great Neck, before moving to its present location in Fresh Meadows. I was a working single mom in my late 30s at the time. I became a regular customer three mornings a week, and by the time I turned 40 I was in the best shape of my life — thanks to BBB. I went there for years.
I am now retired, remarried and I live in New Mexico. This morning, as I was getting ready to go to our community gym, I thought about BODY BY BERLE all those years ago. I mentioned to my husband what a great trainer Richard Berle was — as were the other trainers I’d worked with there, and how I wished there were some place even remotely similar to that here where we live now. (There isn’t).
Then I googled to see if Body by Berle was still around, and I am SO happy to see that it still is! BBB’s customers are very lucky! They are getting the very best fitness training there is! I never experienced a fitness program as good as that one — anywhere. Which is what prompted me to write this review.

Best personal training ever!! I started going 3-4 months ago and it’s the best decision I ever made!! Richard and all the trainers are super helpful knowledgeable friendly and amazing! I used to, almost constantly, have pain in my neck, shoulders & back, but I was so surprised that I felt so much better even after just the first workout. Since I started going to BBB, all my “unexplainable” aches & pains improved significantly, I’m stronger & I have better posture. This place has me feeling like 30 again! The days when I would not stop to think of climbing on a shelf to get to another shelf in the closet without feeling unbalanced! Here I’m 66 years old and after a few sessions with Body By Berle I’m jumping up on my shelves as agile as I was in my 30’s and that’s just icing on the cake ! This year marks the 35th year I have been working out at Body By Berle. I am now 73 years old. I can truly say that I have benefited greatly both physically and mentally from my workouts.
over all the years I have never considered stopping or switching gyms.
If you art looking for a long, socializing type of workout, this is not the gym for you. If instead you would appreciate efficient workouts with maximum effort, in the least amount of time, with maximum results, safely, then this is the gym for you.
Sessions last from 15 to 25 minutes, depending on the type of workout.
This amount of time may appear short, but, in truth, you will welcome it's end.
The key to this formula, is exercising with proper form, using the proven efficient, Nautilus machines, under the guidance of your personal trainer.

I highly recommend this method of personal training at Body By Berle to anyone looking to transform their body and well-being. I have been suffering from lower back pain, stiff hip joints, and sciatica for the past 12 years. All the Yoga, Pilates, Chiropractors, Acupuncturist, personal training in regular gyms have not been able to accomplish what 1.5 months at Body By Berle have! Its a genius system that strengthens you from within, efficiently and systematically. Minimal time, maximum effort, only 2 sessions a week, 20-30 minutes per session, all I have to do is show up and give it all I have got. The trainers do all the planning and adjusting of the weights, they push me to perform beyond what I could ever do on my own and yet I am never in pain after a workout. Mild soreness for a day at most. This has been life transforming. I have more energy now than ever before. I jump out of bed in the morning instead of rolling out in pain. I play with my children on the floor without worrying that I won’t be able to stand up afterwords. I enjoy taking the stairs! Big thanks to all the awesome trainers at Body By Berle!

Did a 10 week personal training session with Body By Berle as part of my strength training for the 2018 NYC Marathon. Every thing about this program was perfect for me. This gave me the confidence and helped me complete the Marathon 6 minutes faster than my predicted time. My predicted time was 4:30; I did it in 4:24.

I have been going to Body by Berle for over 5 years. It is the best thing I have ever done for myself! Half an hour twice a week and I feel great. After I turned 50 I felt my strength starting to decline; since going to Berle I feel strong again. I play golf - I’ve won 2 prizes this season for the longest drive! I ride a stationary bike at home (not often enough) and haven’t ridden my regular bicycle in 2 years. Last week I went for a bike ride with my brother - we rode @ 15 miles! I also think the strength training improved my recovery process after surgery last year. The best thing about Body by Berle is that you pay for 10 sessions at a time, no huge fees or wasted gym memberships. Plus, if you need to take a break (surgery, travel, etc.) you can resume your sessions when you are ready. I highly recommend this place, great staff too!

Trainers are Nautilus-certified (says on the brochure). I've been working out here two times a week for two months. My orthopedic surgeon told me that I have a slight arthritis in my back and this will be better than getting physical therapies ... and he was right! Now my back doesn't hurt anymore and the pain in my knee is also gone ... This workout system is very efficient - it only takes 30 minutes (or even less) per session and makes you use all muscles of your body. I was kind of perplexed when my workout ended 5 minutes earlier but I'm getting used to that as well since I know it comes from the fact that I know how to use the machines well. You will have minor (good) aches a day or two after, but nothing too major of a pain to stop you from going to work and completing your daily chores. Before doing personal training sessions, I had gone to different gyms to exercise on my own, but I almost always ended up hurting myself. With this system, I've never gotten injured because the trainer is next to me throughout 30 minutes. Also, this rate is really not that bad compared to what you are getting in the city or other places. On a side note, my weight actually went up from 100 pounds to 105 in the first 3 weeks but it's down to 103 now. I don't mind it that much though since losing weight is not my goal. This place really is a hidden gem you're missing out!

you pay $350 for 150min which is extremely expensive and not worth it trainers are not always professional some trainers dont seem to have a certificate there are good ones but i didn't like having 10 different trainers for 10 sessions

I can't say enough about Richard and his staff..Absolutely amazing place. I had sleeve surgery 5 months ago and was skeptical about this program. I am skeptical no more. IT WORKS. And the best part about it that you only have to do it once or twice a week. Give it a try. Body by Berle is the best gym that I have even been too. It really changed my life for the better. I have been a client for six months. I have improved both my muscular strength and my overall cardiovascular condition. The trainers who work there are very nice and very encouraging. The owner, Richard Berle really knows his stuff. I have never seen a better environment to be in, and never saw better people who wants you to be in good health. Learning from Mr. Berle and his staff, I came to a valid conclusion; you only need to work out EFFICIENTLY for a short period of time to be in good shape, meaning improved muscle strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular conditioning. I follow a new diet that eliminates sugars and flour enriched carbs. Since joining Body By Berle, and following a healthy diet, I have lost 20 pounds. Mr. Berle and his trainers continue to have a positive influence on me. I now understand that working out on machines that are engineered to work all the muscles in my body, coupled with working on a one-to-one basis with a trainer for only thirty minutes once/twice a week is all I need to be in optimum physical health.

Body By Berle has changed my life. I tried BBB because I was in constant pain and lacking energy. I felt as I was deteriorating. I no longer ice my arthritic knees to relieve the daily swelling caused by walking to and from work and PennStation. I starting walking with energy and dramatically less pain after 2 weeks of half hour training twice a week! After 20 days of training I sleep well every night, wake up pain free, energetic and with a sense of purpose and confidence. Richard and the BBB personal trainers are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I recommend strength training to everyone and at BBB you get the guidance and encouragement to get the most out of your workout. I'm learning from Richard, Jeff and Mindy how to get off sugar and get and stay fit. Val keeps me focus and pushing me further.

I drive 45 minutes from Suffolk County to go to Body By Berle and I believe it is worth every cent I have invested and every second of my time because the return on investment is PRICELESS!
This is the only place near Long Island, that I am aware of, that practices a truly beneficial program (backed by Science, not hear say) for health and fitness. It is one that safely and effectively works all the major muscle groups in the body. Body By Berle understand the inadequacies of calisthenics and the dangers of “functional” exercises that mimic the skills of a sport while using weights or balancing acts. What Richard Berle, the owner, practices and teaches is exercises on properly designed machines for all the major muscle groups based on muscle and joint function in a manner that strengthens without being unnecessarily hard on the joints. It is done one -on-one with a trainer. My trainer Mindy is 100% focused on me and making sure that I am performing the exercises in proper form, at an effective pace and pushing as hard as I possibly can. The zone that she successfully brings me to during every work out is beyond anything I could do without her (and I have been certified in personal training). The staff times and tracks your progress and keeps you focused. They also encourage proper recovery times and diet regimens to get the absolute most out of the workouts. The work outs are brief but unforgivably tough, so if you are looking for a social event to enjoy this is not for you! Oh yea, and not only do I work out 90% less then recommended by other gyms but I am seeing results I have been hoping for my entire life. I am stronger, I have more energy, and I am leaner and firmer than I ever have been without doing ANY cardio!

I recommend everyone give Body By Berle a chance to make your life better. I am in the US Air Force and went here to prepare for basic training and I continue to come every time I take vacation back to Queens. The trainers are very friendly but they push and motivate you to achieve beyond what you think your body is capable of. An added bonus, the workouts are in half hour sessions and sometimes even faster! Do not let that short amount of time fool you though your entire body will get worked out. Being in the military you are conditioned to all different types of physical training but the type of training done at Body By Berle is second to none. After talking to the owner, Richard Berle, a few times learning how compassionate he was and the science behind these workouts I was sold.
The gym has a great environment and from my experiences I have seen trainers working with 13 year old's all the way to individuals in their 80's so there is no reason to be shy. It also helps that there is a huge parking lot and the gym is right off the LIE.

You guys are the best! I believe in your work out system. I am in my twenties and with the help of Body By Berle twice a week, I was able to loose over 20 lbs!! I have seen and felt the results. The work outs have helped me become stronger on so many different levels. This weekend I competed in the Spartan Race upstate. It was 4 miles up and down the mountain with 15 obstacles courses. I was able to finish in an hour and a half and came in 280 out of 2500 men and 308 out of 3500 overall. I did not train for this race, but if I didn't loose the 20 plus lbs and didn't become stronger I would not have been able to do as much as I did in the time I received. So thank you for doing what you do!
