One of the most welcoming and wonderful places to practice anywhere in the uptown / Bronx area. The community here is engaging, youthful and supportive no matter the skill level. Having taken over 80 classes over a year I see a huge personal benefit from practicing under the guidance of BYL instructors and mentors. This studio is highly recommended!!

I have been going to bronx yoga lab for 3 years. There definitely has been a huge return on investment. Some of the benefits include: the improvement in my posture, the mental health component, and the knowledgeable teachers. From a cost perspective it is less than having a personal trainer. On top of the fact that this studio host social events to build a sense of community.

This studio is incredible. Lovely community, excellent teachers, reasonable prices. I struggle with degenerative disc disease and in a year and a half I’ve lost 30 pounds and built the paraspinal muscles I need to stay mobile and manage my pain and inflammation. I had almost given up, and now I’m in the best shape of my life. Thanks, BYL!!!

I love Bronx yoga lab. I’ve been coming for a year now. I try to come at least once a month. I’ve tried almost if not all of the instructors and they are all great and very knowledgeable. As well I’ve tried all the different classes offer at the studio. The classes are beginner friendly as well as expert level. The instructors work with your expertise. I 100/10 recommend this to anyone near the area. I actually started bringing my friends with me and they love the classes as well.

If you keep coming back, this studio will change your life for the better. Classes are challenging and the teachers are incredibly experienced and supportive. Don't be afraid of the heat. While I've always loved yoga, this studio is the only studio that made me want to be regular about my practice and invest in it both physically and literally (because yoga in NYC isn't cheap--but well worth it). The owners, Dionne and Kerry, are seasoned yogis with experience in different modalities and other forms of fitness, and they have a wealth of knowledge. But more importantly, they're approachable, kind, and they want everyone to have a good experience. The other teachers are warm, inviting, and lead dynamic classes. Don't be scared off by the heat! You get used to it, and it adds an extra element to the practice, forcing concentration, breath control, and helping with flexibility and sore muscles. Lastly, the community and diversity (in every way--body, race, age, sexuality, disability etc.) welcomed at the studio is unique and something I've never experienced at other studios. Sometimes after class we sit chatting until the next class or the studio closes, because everyone is so supportive and genuine. 💜

I am so thankful to have Bronx Yoga Lab in the neighborhood! Every instructor is amazing, the yogis at practice are kind and welcoming, and the classes are challenging, but FUN! It had been quite a long time since I’d practiced here, and I’ve loved getting back into my practice with the Fusion and Flow classes. In just a few weeks, I can feel my strength and flexibility building, and I’ve come to actually look forward to the hot room. And the app is a game-changer—it makes it so easy to book classes, rent equipment, buy memberships or packages, and even collect rewards. Do yourself a favor and come practice at BYL!

Thankful this studio opened shortly after I moved to Inwood and even more thankful now that it’s women owned and run by 2 of the best and seasoned instructors, Dionne and Kerry. Hot and heated yoga is not for the faint of heart. At this studio you’ll find a motivated community of teachers and students, and a variety of challenging classes. You’ll see all body types and you will feel zero judgement. And you’ll discover how strong you are. And then you’ll be hooked:)

I am honestly giving BYL 5 stars not only based on their professionalism, knowledgeable instructors and clean environment but on my personal journey with them.
I have been practicing thirteen years at BYL focusing on my mental, physical and spiritual well being. I learned through BYL that those three things mentioned above is essential to one’s well being. BYL will always be family to me and my son Jason who practices privately with Kerry for almost or over ten years, as well as Dionne till this day. My son Jason is disable, in a wheelchair in the process of learning to walk again, his recovery is a long process. These two instructors each week get Jason in that hot yoga room, out of the wheelchair, on to a bench or laying on the floor modifying his practice to develop and strengthen his body, calm his mind and connect with himself. These sessions Jason’s takes has made a big difference especially health wise.
This is just a few reasons I’ll stay practicing with BYL also you get to meet some of the nicest yogi’s ever.

Women owned, black owned ❤️, I came for the yoga, stayed for the teachers. The instructors gently guide you into the best form, pushing you to find and hold the most beautiful postures. I am 20 months postpartum, and my practice has never been better. The guidance around how to hold your posture and engage your core taught me how to increase my mobility without harming my spine. My body is so happy with me since being consistent. In the right lighting, sometimes I can even see little baby abs (those two lines lol) peak through which is crazy considering I just had a baby. Thank you BYL & teachers. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ (also beautiful beautiful studio)

I left the studio tonight thinking about how good I felt and how lucky I am to live so close to the Bronx Yoga Lab. There are several things I love about this place:
1. It’s super clean, elegant and well kept.
2. The staff vibe is awesome and down to earth. And the instructors are excellent!
3. Fantastic schedule that works so well for my hectic life.
4. Very reasonable cost with several different packages that work for your needs.
5. Variety in classes.
6. All kinds of body shapes and sizes! Love this especially since yoga studios can sometimes make a person feel insecure.
Highly recommend this place!!!!

I want to start by first thanking the owners of the Yoga studio, Kerry and Dion, for maintaining the yoga studio in the Bronx community. In addition to my practice, I give all credit to all teachers, especially the vinyasa teachers, for my physical and mental level. Thank you, the porters, for the cleanliness. Lastly, thank you to the other yogis I take a class with. You guys are more than just yogis to me; you are my soul family. Peace and Love.

This is my first time trying out hot yoga and I loved it so much that I will be coming to this place more often. The yoga instructor (Arturo) is kind, understanding and funny. I've met other yoga instructors at this place and they are kind and they are radiate positive, relaxing energy.
The yoga session might be too exhausting because of how hot it gets, but you will be leaving the place energized and lighter.
Also, this place is super clean, they offer little towels to help dry up your sweats and they have clean showers so you can take a quick shower after your sessions. Highly recommended.

First and foremost I would like to say I have been following the owner on instagram for over 1yr but because my life has been chaotic I did not sign up for classes.
Last week I decided to take my health serious and I registered for classes. today 05/12/2023 my first day taking yoga classes at the yoga lab and based on my first visit I love it.
The location is very convenient and close to a lot of shops and food restaurants.
The studio is inviting and homey. The bathroom is clean and have shower stalls should you want to take a shower.
The receptionist was friendly and informative, as for the yoga class IT WAS SOOOOO MUCH FUN!!
She starts the class with breathing techniques and stretching, from here she builds to actual yoga poses and don’t worry if you can’t keep up she will not push you to be an expert right away.
She has a very soothing voice so if you are like me that fall asleep when people that have a soothing voice talk… try to keep up 🤣
Overall: it a great yoga studio the other classmates welcome me in and did not make me feel left out.
Will recommend to anybody.
P.s. to those that claim is too far, I’m coming from Staten Island and It only takes me 1hr to get to the studio

I've been attending classes here for the last 2 years and I love this place! There are great instructors here, they all are passionate of what they do and supportive for students growth. The energy of this yoga studio helps you to overcome your challenges on your yoga journey. I'm glad to see all these changes happening in myself and happy having yoga as a part of my life now. It did take time, effort, and desire to move forward though.
This place is now under a new ownership and it is getting better and better.

This studio claimed they were connected with ClassPass. I was unable to sign up for a class - okay no worries technical difficulties happen. I reached out to the owners Jack and Jane. They said talk to ClassPass. ClassPass investigated the issue and found the studio had to provide them with an updated schedule. Reasonable enough. I cc the owners in on the email to ClassPass with a photo of the schedule asking them to confirm that this is the schedule and I was responded with an email from Jane one of the owners that instead of confirming the schedule she’s withdrawing from ClassPass and I’ll have to pay their rate on top of paying for a program they claim to participate in. Very poor experience. I was problem solving as the customer and met with, ironically, rigid inflexibility. Very disappointing.

Previously would come here on and off for about 6 years. one of the cheapest/affordable yoga classes for hot yoga but you're better off donating to yoga to the people. If you go there constant and sign up for the email they ask for yogi's that want to trade classes for cleaning. Some of the rental mats aren't always clean and a lot of the towels are too old and used by many. If you decide to be a worker they will ask you to clean the locker rooms, toilets etc for 4 hours once a week. The men's locker room has no ventilation and has a smell like beginning stages of mold. The women's locker room is always packed, everyone showers and leaves their underwear and if you can't seem to get there on time you won't be buzzed into the building. They only have one yoga room and the carpet has not been changed since the first day I took class there. The smell is horrid but you get used to it once the heat overwhelms you lol
The community classes & late night classes are the worst time to come because even when it is full they practically try to squeeze in as much people as they can. You're forced to sacrifice your personal space and end up in an unhygienic situation with the stranger next to you shaking their sweat on you.

I give this place 1 star because of its great instructors except the west indian lady with an accent. I didnt care to ask her name since she was so nasty and rude to me. Common sense for a sensible person would be to be nice and pleasant to the customers. So they can keep coming back. Plus when she instructs a class she doesnt help you she claps like a dummy and demeans people. Making you feel bad for not knowing how to do the yoga moves. When i asked her about the billing options i repeated the information and shes like no and explained the same payment information i told her. Then kept saying do you understand with an attitude. I was very close to cussing her out but kept my composure. To bad theres not many yoga places in the Bronx. So i will be going to manhattan for my yoga classes.

An incident occurred last Friday prompted my review of Bikram Yoga Bronx. On Thursday a yoga instructor asked if I had put my yoga clothes in their laundry. I mentioned that I did. The instructor informed me that I couldn't do it anymore. I said o.k. and thought the issue was resolved. On Friday an announcement was made in class about not leaving clothes to be washed. When I had left the class, the owner angrily stated that I'd assumed that it was o.k. and I was wrong for what I did. The owner yelled at me as students were leaving the class. I had informed the owner that I was told just yesterday and that I hadn't left my clothes everyday. I was in between places and couldn't wash my yoga shorts by hand all the time. This has been a low point in my life and help hasn't been in abundance lately. I had apologized and left.
Four things disturbed me by the confrontation: 1.) the lack of professionalism from the owner and the instructor. Both parties were over zealous and their behavior humiliating. They acted as if I did something criminal. 2.) Yoga symbolizes tranquility and growth. I didn't anticipate such an arresting outcome. The situation could have been handled differently. 3.)The yoga instructor clearly didn't trust that I got the message when we spoke. They went to great lengths to make sure I'd received the message "loud and clear". 4. )Lastly I'm a customer that paid for a service from a business. When a customer isn't satisfied with the product/service or how they are being treated, a business should attempt to regain a customer's trust. The owner should exhibit compassion and/or empathy when a delicate matter is revealed. If you want to deal with an establishment that demonstrates professionalism and respect (when dealing with sensitive issues) look elsewhere.

I really enjoyed the class, It had been a while for me but the instructor made the experience go smooth. I have it 4 star rating because the room has a funky set rug smell, I think they could fix that, but overall ecerything went well.

This is my first time I did hot yoga! And I love it, my first day I think I spent haft of the class sit lol because was too hot but it was good. Just drink a lot of water during the day and eat something very light. All my nurses in my job bought the groupon to go with me

I've been attending classes here since they opened, and it keeps getting better. Facility is always clean, the community is friendly and excellent facilitation by the teachers. They truly have created a home here in the Bronx for many. Keep up the great job guys!!

I love this place. It's only my first week but I've been attending on a daily basis. I've gone to the 4pm class. I've had two instructors who have been equally helpful. The classes are small - 8 to 13 people so far, so you do receive that individual attention on what to correct on every pose. The changing rooms are always clean and comfortable. They provide body wash and shampoo if you didn't bring your own. You can also rent a mat and towel, or leave your mat for an extra $5 a month. Everyone has been friendly and helpful so far. Location is great and the prices are pretty good. I believe I am here to stay :-)
In regards to the carpet I read somewhere that:
"Carpet is mandatory for a Bikram studio according to Bikram. Studios obviously clean the carpets.... with ozone machines at night to kill the bacteria in the room and most studios have their carpet professionally cleaned often."
Don't know how accurate this is, but this studio looks very very clean.

Any update about the carpet? I had gone for a few months then switched to 145th studio, which opens the windows between classes and gets a cross breeze, so very little odor.
