I came here while visiting NYC and was thrilled that they offer free passes for those who work in the industry. The staff were super nice and I enjoyed chatting with other climbers. It was thoroughly sandbagged but as a routesetter I didn’t really mind. The boulders were interesting and I left with some fun ideas to set in the future. Thanks for supporting fellow industry workers. 🤍

My wife and I went in with our 6 year old today. $127 for 3 people. Ok whatever it should be fun so no worries. We got geared up and went downstairs. Only 2 Auto Belays in the entire place. The second I clipped into one, a staff member asked me to stop so he could demonstrate the auto belay to a birthday party for a few minutes. Ok no problem, good for the kids. Except that he never gave it back. The birthday party with 8 kids then took the auto belay, i never saw it again. The other auto belay had a line of 6 people (that can take 30mins waiting easily, . So I went up and asked if we could use the regular below ropes. We weren't familiar enough so the answer was simply "No". So $127 and we literally could not climb anythign in the facility other than a small bouldering section. Ok whatever, fine. We''ll just cancel this and get a refund, no big deal. Nope. "No refunds, all sales are final" we were told. An absolute joke. The staff was just doing their job but it's a horrific policy. We walked downstairs and came back upstairs 2 minutes later then left. Nothing to climb. $127.

My friends and I decided to try bouldering for the first time at Brooklyn Boulders. For first-time climbers, this was an entertaining and exciting adventure! Upon entry, you will be checked in with the staff. I highly recommend filling out the waiver form online, but you can fill it out there too. If you plan on doing the high rock-climbing, you have to rent the harness. While chalk is optional, I highly recommend renting a bag too. It does help!
In the front and middle of the building, you will see several tall rock-climbing areas. You can get a staff to help assist your pulley. You can even attend classes, which I plan on doing when I come back. The other areas are for bouldering. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the staff. Otherwise, start at the beginner level of V0 and work your way up. Basically, your hands start at the tape by the holds near the bottom and you finish the climb by having both hands touch the uppermost hold where the tape is.
Not only can you do bouldering and climbing, but there is a small gym in the basement for you to workout and do yoga! With a fancy hydration station and multiple lockers throughout the building, this was the perfect place for first-timers like my friends and I. Just a side note, please be respectful to each other and try not to block anyone's way or idle on the mats! Other than that, I hope you have as much fun as my friends and I. Your hands will get calloused and may be sore for a few days, so fair warning for all.

Brooklyn Boulders Queensbridge is a fantastic rock climbing gym that’s well worth checking out, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced climber. The space is super clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully laid out. There’s a great mix of bouldering problems and climbing routes with varying levels of difficulty, so you can really challenge yourself or take it easy depending on your mood.
The vibe is friendly and welcoming, and the staff are always around to help out or offer tips if you’re new to climbing. It’s a great place to train, hang out, or just get a good workout in a unique and fun way. There’s also space for stretching, strength training, and a few quieter areas if you just want to chill between climbs.
Overall, it’s a clean, spacious, and motivating environment. Definitely a go-to spot if you’re in Queens and looking for a solid climbing gym.

This was a much better climbing experience than I expected! Boulder problems were varied and interesting, and a wide range of grades. I’m an intermediate climber and found easy ones to warm up on as well as more challenging ones to push myself. I love the cave climbs as well as the high balls! Plus nice to shower and sauna afterwards.

I had a very disappointing experience with Brooklyn Boulders. I visited the gym once a few months ago and left my card info at the front desk, assuming it was just for a single visit. Months later, I noticed a $149 charge from them, even though I never signed up for any membership. When I contacted them, they confirmed the charge was tied to someone else’s account — not even mine.
I never authorized this payment, never gave permission for my card to be used like that, and they admitted I don’t have an account with them. Despite several emails and follow-ups, I never received a refund or any real resolution. I had to dispute the charge through American Express.
It’s really concerning how carelessly they handle people’s payment information. I would never recommend this place to anyone — if you value your privacy and your bank account, be very careful.

I’ve been coming to this gym for years. The location is super convenient for me, and I’ve always loved the amazing Capoeira class. The bouldering problems are well set, the staff is friendly, and there’s a great mix of bouldering, lead, and top rope climbing.
That said, I’m giving 3 stars because BKB has really dropped the ball on cleanliness. I usually visit early in the morning around 7:30am before work, and almost every time, the bathrooms, yoga room, and dressing rooms are still dirty from the day before. It doesn’t seem like there’s any serious overnight cleaning, and I honestly wonder when during the day cleaning actually happens.
Also, one of the showers has been broken for months, and the only working one takes 15 minutes just to heat up.
Please, BKB—step up your cleaning game. The community and facilities deserve better.

Unless you plan to climb here for the rest of your life, I don't recommend getting a membership here. I have tendinitis and want to stop doing this sport, but they told me that I have no right to cancel my membership. They charged the monthly fee from my bank card without my automatic payment of the monthly fee. This is a robbery. As a consumer, I can't choose whether to buy a product, which makes me feel ridiculous. This seriously infringes on the rights of consumers. It should be severely condemned and sanctioned.

I bought a ticket for an easter egg hunt at this location for my toddler. The front desk people seemed to be kind and welcoming on the surface, but it was a facade. One of the front desk people mentioned that a vender was selling pastries downstairs. I let her know that I am more of a pack a lunch kind of mom and went down for the Easter egg hunt. It wasn't until the event was almost over that I realized that the staff was making it hard for me to interact and enjoy the easter hunt and activities because I did not want to buy one of their pastries. I did not like this location and do not recommend it. Maybe the Chicago location knows how to treat visitors, who purchase tickets for their events, better.

Great place for all ages. I brought an 8 & 10 year old for a single class and they’re having a great time! It’s nice to find single day classes.
One thing I’d recommend is calling vs reserving and signing up online. I wish I had done that. The website is a little wonky. But the place is great and people are nice.

Our family of 5 have been joining the kids weekend classes for several months and brought and referred many friends and heavily promoted it. However, today we got banned because the instructor Damla Onder was not happy with our 5 year old throwing a harness at her instead of handing it over nicely. 5 year olds will throw things as part of the normal development. This practice puts very young and inexperienced instructors to work with 5 year old kids who obviously don't have fully mature skills of handling all situations. We discussed it with the front desk and apologized and reassured that we would work with our child to minimize such behavior in the future. However, Damla showed up and started a huge fight with my husband saying inappropriate and condescending things about our daughter, clearly demonstrating her inability to work with young children. In a few minutes, we got an email saying our whole family was banned! I hope the business owner reaches out because Damlas of the world are not doing the business any favors.

Not nearly as good as it used to be.
For $149 per month, you'd expect soad and towels to wash your hands, but nope. The trash are overflowing constantly.
Also, expect half the facility to be closed for an event but NOT EVEN USED. Also, the price made sense when giving access to multiple locations, now is just obnoxious.

On November 29, 2024, I purchased an annual membership and informed the staff that I might relocate in the future. The staff assured me that my membership could be cancelled with proof of relocation according to your terms and conditions.
Timeline of Events
* December 4, 2024: I signed a waiver agreement outlining the terms and conditions, but I never received a copy for my records.
* December 16, 2024: I submitted a request to cancel my membership due to relocation.
* January 1, 2025: After multiple inquiries, I received a response from a Brooklyn Boulders representative with updated terms and conditions stating that my membership was non-refundable. I believed these terms to be inaccurate and filed a credit card dispute.
* January 2, 2025: I spoke with Lance Pinn, the gym founder, who reiterated that the membership was non-refundable and suggested I transfer it to a friend or family member. He also refused to provide me with a copy of the signed agreement.
* January 6, 2025: I fortunately located the original signed agreement that supported my understanding of the cancellation policy. I then found someone willing to take over my membership.
* January 10, 2025: Paige Thompson from Brooklyn Boulders contacted me by phone in an aggressive manner, demanding that I cancel the credit card dispute and threatening to cancel the transferred membership. To avoid further complications, I complied with her demands. I also left a Google review expressing my concerns about their business practices, specifically regarding the misleading terms and conditions.
* January 11, 2025: I received multiple emails from Brooklyn Boulders accusing me of disruptive behavior and restricting my access to the gym.
Brooklyn Boulders has misled me and acted unfairly throughout this process. I am attaching a copy of my signed agreement and the gym's correspondence regarding the cancellation.
Many of the positive Google reviews for Brooklyn Boulders are incentivized because they offer free day passes to reviewers in exchange for favorable feedback. During my limited use of the gym after the membership transfer, I was falsely accused by Paige Thompson of using a free day pass that I never received.
My experience highlights potential concerns regarding transparency and customer service at this gym. I encourage prospective members to thoroughly investigate their policies and consider alternative options such as movement LIC, Vital, GP, etc.
New edit:
I was a loyal QB member for seven years, so it's disappointing to be called a scammer when they're the ones who changed the terms and conditions illegally to take advantage of their members. Their response shows exactly why you should avoid this gym – unless you want to have my experience. Consider yourself warned!

Be careful before putting money down if you're a new climber!
I purchased a season pass through a promo on Black Friday. I developed a shoulder overuse injury a few months in (I'd been stretching and limiting climbs to 2x/week but the point of buying a pass is to use it) and my doctor recommended I stop climbing for 2 months. I provided documentation but they refused to let me pause my pass so it's just going to lapse after going unused for 2 months.
That being said, the staff were always very nice. Just a word of caution if you're a noob like me trying to explore your options when you're just starting out.

Back in December, I went to Brooklyn Boulders Queensbridge in Long Island City. I had a good time.
I took a survey in January to get a free day pass. I got a free day pass, and there was no explanation for when the pass would expire.
I decided that I wanted to use it again in April, but apparently “I had already used it” when I clearly had not gone to the gym after December. Then, they said they would investigate and give me updates but never did. Attached are the emails between me and them. I don’t need a free pass, but I just wanted to share this experience.

Beware of Unauthorized Charges!
I canceled my membership at BKB three months ago, yet they still charged me $357 without my consent! I originally used a gift card, so I have no idea how they even got my debit/credit card info. Customer service has been unhelpful and evasive. Be careful—this place feels shady and untrustworthy.

Any time I am in New York, I only climb here. It's just the spot to be. I've made great friends here and the staff are so welcoming. The setting is great here, it's very clean, and they have great bathrooms!
Highly recommended!

super fun rock climbing gym! for $40 you can take an hour long introductory class (and includes shoe and harness rental and a day pass to climb more once the hour is up) which teaches you the basic for starting both bouldering and ropes.

Clean and friendly facility, more bouldering than top roping, nice gym downstairs and plenty of snacks. Easy parking, solid spot for climbing

Spent hours at this climbing gym, obsessing over each route. Brain melted into a blur of chalk and holds—lost in the rock and loving every moment of the madness!

Way too many kids that are allowed to just wander around with no supervision. Walls aren’t even sandpaper like texture so smearing is out of the question.

Parent Review of the Summer Academy
Honestly, I'm so impressed with this program. We sent our little 5 year old into one of the 4-day summer programs. He'd never really been climbing before and he's a kid who often winces at even slight physical activity -- so we weren't sure what to expect.
Thanks to the crew here, every single day after the sessions he came back super excited to tell us about the climbs he did, the techniques he learned ("feet, butt, back"), and how much higher he went compared to the previous day.
As a young child doing the climbs -- on Day 1, he cried, but stuck it out with the camp guide's encouragement. And by Day 3, he was fearless about it all. For one day of pick-up, we got to see him go on a climb and listen in as the counselors encouraged him along the way -- and it was awesome to see how motivational they were through it all.
Huge props to you guys! Thanks for giving our little guy confidence and a prideful moment for us parents!!

Today was an awesome day for the children at Nest Music Summer Camp. We spent the day rock climbing with Cortney, Chris, and their team. They were incredibly attentive, kind, and patient with our group of brand-new climbers. They encouraged us while providing comfort as we stepped out of our comfort zones to climb the height of a two-story building.
We are truly grateful for their dedication and support. Their enthusiasm and positivity made a huge impact on the children, boosting their confidence and making the experience unforgettable. The team’s ability to make each child feel safe and valued was remarkable, and their kindness will be remembered long after camp ends. Thank you, Cortney, Chris, and the entire team, for making today such a special and empowering day for all of us.

This is my favorite climbing gym in New York ! Fun routes and nice staff. Routes are friendly to people who are not super tall like me. Really love the style of bouldering routes, making me feel like I am solving a math problem, super interesting! Pretty good vibe and amazing community. Also, pets friendly! By the way, love the music, good taste! My friends in Seattle also love the free water with different flavors.

It's definitely good for beginners, but the routes are pretty generic, and the grading is inconsistent as heck. I am a V3-4 climber in almost every other climbing gym, but in this gym, I could do V0s, V1s, and like half of the V2s. The V2s were either super easy or super challenging with no in between. The wall is also waxed, so you can't smear at all, which doesn't help the fact that there are barely any footholds for any of the routes. All the routes pretty much felt the same, as they did not have any interesting moves or dynos, as you would see in other gyms. Overall, if you are a beginner, this gym is good for you, but if you're a V3-V4 climber, I don't recommend.

The bouldering here has some unique features and great cave climbs. The climbs are challenging, but they aren't the cookie cutter Walltopia walls that almost every other gym has. They also have a great weight area plus sauna. In the top rope area, there is also a great chimney feature. If you want a little bit of both with walls that aren't too high, this is a great place to check out.
