Great private owned gym. I travel for work and have joined many gyms, and this is the only gym that I received a tour from Chris. I met the owner Shawn, great guy who makes you feel very welcomed. Seperate from the weights and cardio equipment, is an area for boxing amd aerobic workouts. Great free weights and machines.
What i like most is the atmosphere....think of Planet Fitness, and then think of the opposite amd this is that gym. Nice lighting, warm temperature to break a sweat, great lifting vibe to it. I go after work around 7 and it's never too crowded.They also sell a lot of supplements and protein powders, water and energy drinks.
Men's bathroom, showers, locker room are clean.

Far too expensive for what you get, @ close to $80 a month.

Biggest pro: It’s almost always empty except in rush times.

Cons: Old equipment, extremely small, and very expensive for what you get, poor closing times (10-11pm), and no late weekends (5pm/7pm respectively), I personally felt bad vibes from most people in there, maybe it’s just me, but it is a pretty narcissistic antisocial feeling environment, not exactly welcoming.

Better off taking the trip to limitless in Howard beach.

Mismanaged, mishandled, stinking (literally) unhygienic gym. The machines are sticky and torn, the people don't clean up after themselves, the management doesn't do deep cleans or replace seats of equipment and they vastly overcharge. It also smells because they do not run the air enough, or clean enough. I spend money on this membership and feel like the money we all spend vanishes

Cool gym in Rockaway Beach. The machines crowd the floor a bit, but it is manageable and there is a separate room where one can do floor exercises. No screamers. Lockers and showers available, you bring your own lock and soap. And yes, you can safely drop the soap.

I have been a member of several gyms over the years but this has been my best experience thus far. I have another gym across the street from my home but prefer to travel here. The staff treats everyone like family and the atmosphere is always positive. The hours of operation, the equipment, and the cleanliness are also a plus.

This is a real “neighborhood gym.” In just a few weeks it’s easy to meet, and say hello to a 1/2 dozen people as you walk in. Equipment is old but very usable. Equipment like stairmills and machines are fixed promptly. Staff is very friendly and happy to assist you when needed. At the same time never push sales or personal training sessions on you, unless you ask.

Wow. One week of being a member at Burn Fitness , during COVID. I was a little nervous going back to the gym. This gym definitely took my anxiety away.

Not only are they following COVID guidelines, they are going ABOVE AND BEYOND to ensure the cleanliness at this facility. They disinfect every night. EVERY NIGHT! I know because they post it on social media!
If that's still not enough for you, there are disinfectant sprays available for members to use, in every direction you turn. People are mindful of spacing and are kind enough to say Hello. Everyone wears an actual mask and temperature is taken when you enter the doors. The equipment you need is there. Not crowded at all.

Working out is not a hobby, it's a part of living a healthy lifestyle. With all the motivating quotes posted on the walls and the positive energy coming from the Small Business owner, this has now become my happy place. They also contribute to many local businesses and are currently helping with ToysforTots, by gathering as many toy donations to give to kids. This is the kind of place I want to be in during these times of uncertainty.

This is where I can interact safely with people and have fun taking care of my mental, emotional and PHYSICAL health. Thank you Burn Fitness.

Price is fair for the Rockaway area though compared to other bigger franchise gyms in NYC, much more expensive. Some equipment is dated but all is functional. Although it doesn't have all the frills as a larger franchise gym would, I find this one a LOT better to work out in.

Plenty of equipment and you'll never run into an issue of crowding or people getting in your way. If you're serious about lifting try to go when its more quiet for an optimal experience.
