If we could add more stars we would!!! Cayuga Lake Seido Karate has been a blessing for our son for the last two years. Our son started at just 5 years old, and the discipline he’s gained has been immeasurable. Our son really struggled with hyperactivity, lack of focus, managing emotions, using words to identify needs, and following instructions. The monthly character word and activities assigned to the students are a great family activity which then also provides shared language to work 1:1 to hold the kids accountable and develop. We specifically worked a lot with Jun Shihan Robin, she’s such a great resource on parenting tips and brainstorming ways on how to best support our son when he’s experiencing challenges at school or focusing in class. All of the teachers are wonderful, patient, and manage the classes well in guiding/teaching the students. Highly recommend the dojo and their program for developing children.

Our daughter loves CLSK. This year we decided to celebrate her birthday at the dojo. It was wonderful. Other than the cake, we didn't have to do or think about anything. The kids had a lovely time with fun activities, a karate lesson, lunch, and cake. Our daughter even got to break a wooden board with her foot and cut the cake with a samurai sword. Party favors were provided too. We will definitely consider CLSK for next year's party.

Awesome program for kids. Both my children love it, and it has really helped them learn to focus and follow instructions. I especially like that it is on a monthly basis, so I can come to whichever classes work for me, as my schedule changes week to week.

Our daughter started at Cayuga Lake Seido Karate as a 5-year-old kindergartener. From day 1, the dojo was welcoming, eased her nerves, and has helped her gain confidence in ways we could not imagine. Every instructor is kind, obviously knows how to work with kids of any age, and wants kids to just try and persevere! It is clear every time we walk into the dojo that she is cared for and every instructor wants her to succeed to advance her skills and love for karate!

My daughter recently joined the youth karate group as a total beginner. CLSK creates a very welcoming and warm atmosphere, and the classes are fun, while nicely structured. It is enjoyable to watch the classes and see the joy in the students’ eyes, even through challenging exercises.

We moved to Florida from NYC during the pandemic and were looking for a Seido Karate virtual option so that our son could continue his practice. I found Cayuga Lake Seido Karate on Google and it has been a fantastic choice! Jun Shihan Robin and her colleagues are extremely professional and caring, with a genuine focus on building character along with physical skills. We feel very lucky to have connected virtually with them, I would highly recommend them to anyone in a similar situation.

The staff has been so welcoming to my granddaughter! They have provided her with positive feedback as well as worked with her on what she can improve. After four classes, my granddaughter is starting to open up! I love the strong focus on good character and the importance of family. I love it so much I am thinking about taking lessons myself!

CLSK provides a safe, supportive and encouraging environment that fosters the development of confidence, self-esteem, and physical fitness. An emphasis is placed on the importance of good character (for children, badges are earned for honesty, discipline, family, education and more), an admirable element of the CLSK holistic approach to promote all aspects of personal growth. The dojo is a wonderful reflection of the area’s diverse population, and everyone is welcomed. We are impressed at the considerable effort that Jun Shihan Robin, Jun Shihan Gail and the wonderful instructors have devoted to ensure continuity of community and instruction via virtual learning during these tumultuous pandemic times. This provided our young children with an element of normalcy that was suspended while we all await the re-equilibration of the universe. Our young children have been fortunate to benefit from such a constructive environment, and we look forward to their continued growth through participation in the offerings of the dojo.

My boys and I have been part of this wonderful organization since January 2007 and I am so grateful to have found CLSK. Not only is it a place to learn karate skills and improve physical fitness, but it is also a place to strengthen the mind and spirit. I have been able to take the skills that I have learned here and apply them to my everyday life. CLSK is a welcoming community where you will find compassion, camaraderie, personal challenges, and supportive peers and instructors. Even as we have had to go to virtual training, the dedication and quality of instruction has been unwavering. I am so grateful for the seamless transition to online classes. Thank you CLSK for all you do!

My child and I have both taken classes at CLSK. The quality of instruction is excellent for all ages, meeting each student where they are and encouraging excellence at every level of fitness. With social isolation measures in place, they immediately pivoted to online learning, with a lot of flexibility (including live lessons, recorded lessons, social time, one-on-one lessons, all at a variety of times to suit various schedules.)

Our daughter has been a part of the CLSK family for 7 years, having started as a "pee-wee" and is now a brown belt. The teachers and staff are exceptional and students get both karate skills and character education. They also transitioned seamlessly into virtual sessions during the pandemic. Their summer camps are a lot of fun. Highly recommend.

CLSK has been a wonderful part of our daughter's life in the last year. We signed her up to try out karate soon after we moved to Ithaca last summer, and we haven't looked back. All of the staff are so supportive and encouraging, and this has continued to come through in the online class environment during the pandemic. On multiple occasions our daughter has received personal video messages recognizing her efforts and offering encouragement. They really have found a way to keep providing the personal attention that is so central to the class experience at the dojo.

CLSK is one of the best parts of my day to day life, even more so during the pandemic. They were quick to set up reliable, works-for-everyone online courses to make it feel like we are maintaining some kind of normalcy during these super weird times. The teachers at CLSK truly want to support you and help you improve on your personal fitness and physical/mental strength goals. If you're considering joining at CLSK, DO IT!

Cayuga Lake Seido Karate is an excellent place to learn karate, get some good exercise, meet friendly people, and have fun! During the Covid-19 pandemic, the online classes (both live and recorded) have been a great way to keep moving, plus they have meditation classes that are so helpful for staying calm and centered. Excellent program!

Cayuga Lake Seido Karate offers the best classes remotely! The teachers are very professional and the classes are physically and mentally challenging. Throughout the classes there is challenge without judgement, and always respect for each student. I started with my 8 year old son and we both achieved our black belts. It's an incredible program and now you can participate from your living room, or family room, or basement, or wherever you have a bit of space. Give it a try from the comfort of your own home.
