This gym is perfect for beginners who want to grow into professional Muay Thai kickboxers while learning authentic Muay Thai boxing. I’m truly impressed by the environment here—the space is so clean, equipped with modern training machines, a large fighting ring, multiple branches, plenty of boxing and Muay Thai heavy bags, and even showers. Overall, an awesome gym!

My name is issam and I’m a passionate and dedicated boxing enthusiast. I’ve been training regularly and working on improving my skills, and I’m very interested in taking the next step in my boxing journey.
I would like to ask if there is an opportunity to join your club. I truly admire the work you’re doing and would be honored to be part of your team. I’m eager to learn, grow, and contribute, and I would also love to participate in any upcoming tournaments if possible.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I’d be happy to provide more information or attend a trial session if needed.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

In general I have been getting better at martial arts and physical conditioning since joining Church street. I love the thoughtful instruction and opportunity to take multiple classes in a day. The other students are helpful as well

First time at this gym and I was thrown straight into training with no instruction or guidance for a beginner. I had no idea how to throw the punches or follow what the coach was doing. Overall, it was a confusing and disappointing experience.

Highly recommend! The staff and folks I interacted with were all very helpful and kind. The Boxing - Beginner Class with Maksym was a super fun challenge as someone with zero experience. Fast-paced but not unmanageable for someone new to training. For my first time ever throwing a punch, it was a great time. I’ll definitely be returning regularly :)

CSBG is definitely my happy place in the city! They absolutely have the best, truly supportive trainers, lovely staff and a wonderful community where everyone has each other's back! While the Chelsea location is the most convenient for me, the Long Island City location is brand new and so spacious, and the original Park Place location is for sure the most raw, real and reliable dungeon in NYC! Love it!!

Did the "All levels" class and I am NEVER going back!!! First, the front desk guy made sure to tell me that the class was "VERY HARD!" more than once, with a tone saying the I would not be able to handle the class, without knowing my fitness or boxing background. Who do you think you are to be underestimating people??

During the class, we had to pair up and there was an odd number of people. I end up without a pair. Halfway into the class, he put me with one of the pairs, so whenever two people were sparring the 3rd person was either waiting or practicing on a bag. I spent 3/4 of class practicing on a bag alone and the instructor never once came to offer to be my pair or correct mine or anyone's forms, he was either sitting and watching or on his phone.

Extremely disappointing!

Church Street Boxing Gym's Jiu Jitsu program with Coach Pablo (Pabs) is a hidden gem! Pabs is not only super knowledgeable but also makes every class engaging and fun. I'm surprised his classes don't cost more, considering the quality of instruction and the supportive atmosphere. It's like being part of a big, welcoming family at the gym. If you're looking to learn Jiu Jitsu and have a blast while doing it, Church Street Boxing Gym with Coach Pablo is the place to be!

And let's not forget about Assistant Coach Selim! He's just as awesome, adding his own unique style to the classes. With both Pabs and Selim on board, Church Street Boxing Gym is where you'll get top-notch Jiu Jitsu.

Came here while visiting NYC last year from Canada. They happily allowed me in for a free class and it was amazing to see everyone’s talents in this gym! Super friendly and very good place, give it a try for yourself, you won’t regret it!

Don’t come here. Went to a beginner class and was taught nothing - 20 min warm up, 3 min beginning lesson with no corrections on movements at all, no such thing as safety lesson / how to avoid injuries to beginners. My friend who learned muai Thai in Thailand said everyone at the beginning class has bad forms. 30 people crowding at a very tiny place, touching people even during warmups. Avoid at all cost.

Sad place! No speed bag, no double end bag, empty gym with no proper trainers. Asking for exorbitant prices for extremely poor conditions and trainers. STAY AWAY! You can get the same gym for much cheaper at any regular gym.

This gym has been my 2nd home for the last few years. Amazing friendly coaches that have real boxing experience (not bougie non-sense). If you are looking for the best HIIT workout to get in shape and learn a little boxing, this is the place. If you're looking to take it to the next step and learn technique and sparring, this is also the place! Remember, you don't have to hit anyone or get hit here, the regular classes are your typical HIIT classes you'll find anywhere in the city, but you have the option to take on advanced classes. The biggest difference is the coaches here actually have real boxing experience. If you're serious on building your boxing skills and want tips on proper form, pay attention and ASK the coach for tips, they are more than happy to help.

Was really disappointed in coming here. Trainers were unfriendly and didn’t come over to help or correct technique. It’s one of those gyms that only cares about those trying to do amateur even though they have other paying customers. The gym is dirty, they don’t wipe down the mats between classes or the pads. They focus on hitting the pad hard and loud, seemingly without respect for the sport. Would not recommend.

Amazing and funny instructors. Hand wraps can be bought on the spot. Gloves can be borrowed in case of an emergency, although they are usually moist from someone else using them beforehand... so I highly recommend buying your own.

I had a great 1 hour Entry-Level boxing class yesterday. $30 for 3 of those? You can’t beat that. They will always make you smile while also working your a** off. Also, they were very accommodating to personal injuries and handicaps as well. Overall amazing experience and I will be back as a regular!

This was my first experience at the Chelsea location for CSBG and I really liked it! I'm a usual member at the Park Place location in downtown and have been going there since Spring of 2019. For my Chelsea visit I attended an All Levels 7 a.m. class taught by Danny. The gym itself is clean, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and the bathrooms are great. I showered here before I went to work, and I didn't have any problems whatsoever. I used the hangers in the ladies room for my coat and wet towel, lockers for my things, etc. I really enjoyed my experience and I would be very glad to come again.

As for my class itself, Danny is an excellent instructor. He is personable, kind and knows exactly what he's doing. He also pushes you to do better and to be better. I've taken his class twice before at the Park Place location so he has seen me before. What I appreciate very much is that he learns details about you, a mark of a great instructor, and strives to adapt the class to the people in it. He asked the names of the others in my class, and also tried to learn about them. The class I took at Chelsea, while not a Ladies Only class, ironically only had ladies in it. And he adapted the class to us. Also, as my class that morning was quite small, he gave us each one-on-one time while the rest of us practiced the drills he showed us. We also did quite a bit of core work. Which I greatly appreciated. While, not easy at all, it's so helpful for my own personal fitness goals, and I think also adds to making a class well-rounded. One more thing I might add, is that Danny gave us a full warm-up. (Not one of those half-way ones some places do to rush you through, without properly prepping your body for the workout. ) We did a full 15-minute warm up that was a mixture of a little cardio and core. I appreciate when a trainer goes by the book and does that.

Overall a great experience, great staff and a great trainer. I would definitely come again! :)

The gym and facilities are small but as long as the class size is low, it's manageable.
It's expanding the features and is compatible with apps like gympass and classpass. The trainers make or break a gym for me, and so far I've loved what they manage to make me do in an hour. Grueling but satisfying!

The workouts get tough. If you focus on form and apply what the instructors advise, then you grow.
